To watch Shield take Fenrir's attention with a Howl, Chase felt safe again. His adrenaline began to die down, but with every hit he seemed to land on the wolf, he his battle healing could only make up for so much damage. He was at a complete standstill, sweating coldly. Even so, he remembered about some crystals he could use- after he'd launched his attack. It hit Fenrir and damaged him back just as much, but that was alright. He could heal everybody's slightly dropped health for a bit every turn by expending his mass heal crystals that NIGHT gave him.

He looked around rather nervously, trying to see who all was alive and attacking the boss- rather, who all was alive and in the near vicinity. Thankfully though, he managed to get visuals on everybody. Nobody was split away from the main group and nobody else was in danger but him. If only he was better prepared, maybe he wouldn't have been this hurt either. "... Sorry if I'm weighing you down, everyone.", he grumbled rather lowly and glared at Fenrir, preparing his next attack.

Fenrir thrashed wildly, Freyd grip's grip barely holding as he clung for dear life to the fur on the giant wolf's back.  The beast turned, suddenly, giving him the momentum he needed, and an opportunity.  Swinging like a man-sized pendulum, he managed to thrust his blade deep enough into the creature's neck to find purchase.  Letting his weight do the rest of the work, he rappelled down its enormous side, leaving a long thin gash down as far as its left shoulder before his blade's angle shifted and slipped free completely.  Free falling the last fifteen feet, Freyd landed with an awkward tumble and righted himself next to ChaseR.

"Are you okay?  That was a hell of a hit."  The concern was genuine, though he expected ChaseR to find it suspect.  Crazy EVA tanks, he thought to himself.  It works really well, until it doesn't, but now wasn't the time for that debate.

Mari watched as Chaser was able to heal a little health, and how Shield - and the others rallied - creating more hate so he wouldn't get hit. Still...it was rather worrying to Mari, she chewed her bottom lip, flashing @ChaseR a worried  glance before turning back to Fenrir - the mighty and bristly black furred dog. It's health still a healthy green. "Ugh..." This was the lasts one, right?  Right They just had to hold on a little teeny tiny bit longer.

So Mari darted forward, and activated her <<Dimension Stampede>> Sword Art - pummeling the large canine creature with four fast stabs in its torso - rather than yelp the beast growled - dark flaming eyes glaring at Mari, but Mari just glared right back as she stabbed it one last time before wretching her weapon out of his skin and falling back with the rest of the group. 

"Yanno..." She said as her eyes drifted over all of them. "We actually all work pretty well together!"

With another round of attacks behind them, Beat's eyes glanced up at his HUD. Chase's health was lower than he was comfortable with and Fenrir had just managed to heal himself and his stats had gone up considerably. Still, with Shield holding aggro and Fenrir showing no evidence that he possessed an area of effect attack, Beat figured Chase was safe enough as long as he didn't manage to pull threat somehow. 

Alright, everything seems under control for now...

With Ragnarok under way, Beat knew the rest of the plan. His battle spear shimmered with power once more as he ran forward and pelted the wolf with a rapid series of powerful strikes, still without any sign of a critical strike effect. With how much offense the group had brought to the table, Beat figured is wasn't a huge issue, but he did enjoy the extra damage it afforded him.

The fight was chaos at this point. There were so many bodies moving around, and Fenrir's bulk concealed so much of the battle. He caught a glance of a familiar form and knew he needed to keep pushing extra damage into the fight. Swinging his blade, a red orb erupted from the tip and streaked towards Freyd. "Here's a little boost for you!" he called out before returning his focus to the behemoth before them. "As for you... I'm ready for you."

Fenrir attempted to call his bluff, rearing up and slamming its paw down onto the tank. It eclipsed him entirely, but Shield had more than enough time to turn his blade at the attack, and as it struck, the force drove the weapon deep into the pad of its paw. Fenrir let out an audible yelp, hopping up onto its hind legs for a moment and stumbling back a few long paces. As its front paws came back down, it was clearly favoring the one it had not used to attack. As it squared up for more, it refused to put weight on that paw.

"I tried to warn you," he sighed. He had not come out unscathed, but his preparations had paid off, and he was still left with the vast majority of his health gauge.

Watching Fenrir's raw destructive power unfold before them was both daunting and magnificent.  The sheer magnitude of entropy at its disposal was recklessly unleashed about them.  it was staggering.  Asgard broke and crumbled before its might.  The beasts engorged and swollen body distended in unnatural ways as it struggled to contain all it had consumed.  Every movement brought down another cascade of shattered stone like rain about the players. 

Yeah.  Doing this had definitely been one of those especially 'good' ideas Mari frequently berated him about.  But it was fun.  For someone who operated in such absolute goals, he seemed to be endlessly embroiled in pure, roiling chaos most of the time.  It seemed like an appropriate metaphor for his existence, though he could already hear the accusations about him actually being its source.  Like he could actually have that kind of power.  Pfft.  Ridiculous.

A smile and soft chuckle escapes his lips as he meticulously strode through all the madness.  It was... comfortable.

Chase looked to the side at Freyd with a somewhat concerned look in return. He wasn't as suspicious of him as he thought, but... this was worrying enough. With no time to stick to how much he despised and resented Freyd for his actions, he just went back to attacking the boss. Before that though, he quickly took a crystal out of his pocket and raised it into the air, only for it to disperse into nothing but blue particles while a green glow surrounded everybody and healed them- it wasn't as necessary for them as it really was for him, however.

Now that he was fully healed up, at least relatively so, he got up and began to ran towards Fenrir, delivering another slash. He was starting to fret about his hate on the enemy mob, but he believed in Shield, at least for the time being. Tanking for mobs this strong though? This was a whole other level of scary.

One thing that got important to manage now was Hate values. ChaseR was the one to grab most aggro right now, and it seemed like Fenrir was keeping his focus at the young fighter, one bite from Fenrir and the boy would probably be eaten in one mouthful, they just needed Shield to grab the hate again and keep Fenrir at bay for everyone else to deal their damage, which was what Macradon would do now. “You take left, I’ll go right!” he said and lightly pet Belphegor’s middle head and sprinted off. With his familiar helping him get close enough to a target and distract it, Macradon would jump in and strike Fenrir with his sword, dealing less damage than before because of the added Ragnarok effect. “Darnit … it’s not enough … I need more momentum.” he muttered and tried to get out of the way of Fenrir’s oncoming attacks.

The steady pace of a controlled fight wasn't always the most interesting, but it was a good sign that everything was going to plan, and that meant people were safe. Chase's health was improving steadily and Shield continued to hold Fenrir's attention. Beat glanced at their target's health and knew what was coming. The last part of Ragnarok was the most dangerous part. With how much damage the group could put out, Beat figured they would be fine, but not everyone had his precision. 

Bad luck can cost lives in this game...

Beat shook off any pessimistic thoughts and ran forward once more, the air whipping around as he flew into a furious combination of strikes that brought Fenrir ever-closer to his ultimate form. Beat could feel each blow being stopped just a little more and it was frustrating to see his own health going down as well. He growled and created some distance between the two of them as he prepared to charge.

Attack after attack was unleashed upon the Beast, and Mari was no exception to this, the moment she was able to she kicked up off the dirt riddled ground and drove her attack in, once again using the <<Dimension Stampede>> Sword Art. Black booted footsteps trudged toward the beast - dodging under a swipe as she jabbed his underbelly one, two, three - then four times - as she circled back around him she gave a final blow to his right side - slamming into it from its flank.

Mari picked up a hunk of her scarf and wiped her brow with it, "PHew..." It wasn't often she was able to land such a critical blow - but hey, she had. Her eyes glanced up to the health bar of Fenrir - close to half its health. That meant it'd do something, right? Those creatures would come back. They'd hurt the people in the party. Blue eyes glanced back at the others.

Mari had no time to be sad; they'd all get through this. Then she could go wallow in solitude or something.

The pressure from the DPS players was intense, which was exactly what they needed. However, in the tangle, Fenrir's eyes were beginning to wander again. As quickly as everyone was moving, the yellow, glowing eyes of the foe seemed to have no trouble separating the movements of players - and it was zeroing in on Chase again. Shield cursed, running up the battlefield to stand directly in front of the great wolf. He inhaled as he ran and came to an abrupt stop with his eyes fixed defiantly above him on Fenrir's.

"I DON'T THINK SO!" he howled, the noise snapping Fenrir out of his focus and returning the hateful eyes to Shield. "YOU AND AREN'T EVEN CLOSE TO FINISHED YET! I KNOW THAT SHOT TO YOUR PAW WOUNDED YOU GOOD, YOU MANGY CUR! COME SETTLE THAT SCORE BEFORE PICKING A NEW FIGHT!" He slapped the face of his shield with the flat of his blade, and the sharp noise caused a slight wince in the features of the sharp-hearing canine that stood over him. It lifted its good paw all the way over its head, and it struck.

The force bowed Shield's legs so they were bent at extreme right angles. His shield was braced against his head and shoulder, but his face was now mere inches from the ground. He strained, he heaved, and he held his stance, but only just barely. His health dipped further than he had seen it go all at once and knew a little of the surprise that Chase had felt before, but he was still in the green. While Chase was built to evade, Shield was built to soak. Shifting his weight tentatively to his right leg, he sent his left out to the side. With great difficulty, he stepped and pivoted, the angle of his shield forcing him out from under the crushing weight and sending his feet skidding on the nearest flat surface - a fallen stone wall.

That... could have gone worse.

With another attack being thrown at Shield, Chase could feel his own health starting to regenerate, and he was quite happy that was the case. Although the thorns from Fenrir were dealing a fair number to him, he continued his barrage of attacks. This time, he thought to stun the beast as Hati and Skol could be seen reforming in the back, waiting for their cue- just when the boss was very close to half health. He picked up on the plan and stripped them off this turn, opening a window for the rest of the team to assault the beast as they pleased.

Running up close and attacking it relatively weakly, he managed to put a dent in it and grinned, looking to the side at the rest. Now was time to get serious. "Everybody, attack it while it's in a daze!", he said, watching while the monster was still immobilized, a shock running throughout its body even with this blade. "We can do this. It's just a few more hits and then we're done, nobody will have to tank much more either."

The doom of Ragnarok was approaching, the time for Fenrir to grab in his adds again. They had been gone for a good portion now, but they were sure to come back and aid their father to begin the fall of Asgard. ChaseR was quick to stun the beast while it stood tall, ready to take down the moon and grow in considerable strength. The stun would help everyone trickle down as much health as possible, but Macradon had already activated his sword art before realizing what ChaseR had done for them all. With mighty force, Macradon carved a big red gash into the wolf’s body, but only dealing a minimal adequate amount of damage. The knight shook his head in his own disappointment and looked over at ChaseR “Sorry bud .. should’ve taken advantage of your stun setup!” he called out as an excuse to his tardiness this battle.

"Right!" Mari said as her feet shone, activating her charge ability. "Now we do the whole go hard or go home thing, right?"  Powered  by her charge Mari managed to unleash a stronger version of the <<DImnension Stampede>> Against Fenrir - and if he wasn't already paralyzed before - he would be now.

Her Energy was just above the halfway point, but they had fought with little reprieve, and Fenrir was now well below half HP. They'd win this fight, and far sooner than later!

"Not long now." Mari said under her breath. 

Then what? Would they even have time to celebrate before the boss battle? She lowered her spear to the ground with a small 'tink' still breathing heavily. She was tired. So tireed. Mari wasn't sure she'd even survive the boss battle at this rate - constantly pulled ever which way - constantly tearing pieces of herself to give to others but...

That was her role. So, Mari straightened, and rolled her shoulders back so she stood tall - facing the gristly beast, Fenrir. She'd keep fighting till she couldn't anymore.

The thorns bit into his flesh every time he struck, but he'd become inured to the repeated and seemingly endless stings.  Freyd's strikes were methodical, precise, and relentless.  Many of Aincrad warriors focused on smite builds dependent on luck.  Freyd disdained the fickle whims of fortune, as they seemed to also hold him in contempt.  The sheer number of faceplants he'd incurred at the outset of crucial battles suggested that fortunate hated his guts.  So he made his own luck.  Freyd's way was to move and manipulate all of the variables, at least to the extent possible, then let all of the positioned pieces call into place.  It required an extensive, near-infinite form of patience.  But when the moment finally came, it was always oh, so very satisfying.  This was such a moment.

All the stars aligned as Freyd brought his sword down on Fenrir's neck, cleaving a terrible wound into the failing wolf's body.  A grim and cunning grin showed itself beneath his cowl.  It was time to press the advantage.

It was time. They had held their true offensive might back for this moment and it had finally arrived. A feeling of exhilaration filled his body as Beat triggered his charge skill. A sinister, red aura surrounded him and made him feel as if the slightest movement forward would send him flying. He dug his heels into the ground beneath him and eyed the frost wolf menacingly. 

"You never really had a chance, but you should at least see what we're really capable of."
 
His spear left a shimmering trail behind him as he closed the distance to his target in an instant, his approach creating a thunderous boom as his sword art went off. Each strike dug deeper into that strengthened hide, bring an eve wider smile to Beat's face. As his attack expired, he looked at the wounded creature, who was now covered in red, glowing marks, "I'm not going anywhere now. You and I are going to hang out until this is finished."

Chase's attack had been perfectly timed. Perhaps it had lowered their potential damage output, but to interrupt just in time to slow down Hati and Skoll's return to the fight as well as staggering Fenrir when its damage had been more than doubled was the exact kind of move this team needed to bring the fight to a close. "That's it! Regroup and rally for another one! He's already been stopped in his tracks, so now we just grind him down!"

He swung his sword in a wide circle around his head, taking the extra moment to take a breath and send more support. With a deep whoosh of wind, a sharpening orb rushed from him out towards his closest ally, Beat. The path of the orb bent, arcing through the ruins of Asgard to meet the younger player and absorb into his form. Meanwhile, his own health was quickly regenerating, and the longer he was able to let that happen, the more easily he found it to relax and breathe. His face remained stoic and impassive, as was his usual way of being, but he could feel his own muscles begin to settle into the new wave of the fight. It wasn't a matter of if they would win, but how soon.

With Fenrir running amock with his Ragnarok mode engaged, Macradon would set down into a low pose and get his attack ready “Alright, let’s charge this bad boi …” he said and rushed in with all the momentum he could muster into one single attack. With his silvery blade, Macradon cleaved into thin air as his momentum threw him off course from Fenrir, missing his attack only barely with his blade. The giant enraged nightmare wolf dodges his attack with ease, and with that miss, Macradon hadn’t really been any aid for the rest of his party. “Shit.” he exclaimed to himself and shook his head. One by one the others would engage again, slowly ticking down its health, they were getting close to finishing off this gauntlet of nordic bosses, and the time had come for them to slay the final boss at its peak, at its glory. To take down the doom of Asgard.

With the stun effect over, Beat felt sweat building on his brow as he moved to keep up with the canine deity and staying true to his word. He was suddenly happy that they had rested before the fight and wondered if they would have had enough energy to finish this fight without taking the extra time. They were in no rush, but it was something in him that enjoyed pushing their limits. 

Okay, let's keep pushing! 

Fenrir moved across the battlefield, attempting to shake his pursuers and no real avenue of escape as Beat's spear glowed once more. With a sharp turn, Beat cut the wolf off guard as he let his attack loose once again, pelting the creature's body with another rain of blows that continued to chip away at its ever decreasing health pool. They were so close to victory under the hardest possible condition a group like this one could hope for.

Freyd moved to shadow Beat's movements, hacking into the vulnerable points left behind by his chosen vanguard.  There was no denying the other warrior's prowess, or Shield's strength as leader and stalwart protector.  ChaseR had given his all, and taken a hit for the party.  Whatever the nature of the blue boy's gripes, he had to admit his skill and courage.  Macradon mirrored his own form and style most of all.  Therein lay an exemplar to be followed.  Not perfect or infallible, but rigorous and true, striking with strength where the enemy was weakest.  And Mari, dear devoted Mari, who was willing to believe in everyone, except herself.  It was a fine company, to be sure.

He had said little during their shared trials.  it wasn't his way, and too much tension remained with ChaseR and Mari to make it wise or beneficial to engage in idle chatter.  Besides, their lives remained in danger.  For now, Fenrir's death was their business, and he would see it done.  Once more, his blade cut into the fur and flesh, dwindling the great beasts strength further.
