While Simmone was assisting her, they were overcharging Kasumi's passive recovery to overtake her usage. With a final two crystals added to her ring she watches them pop. She extends her arms out in front of her with open hands, palms up as she grabs onto an unseen physical force. Like a mime, she peels it toward her and the echoes become more rapid as her own voice becomes more audible and much more broadcasted. The chorus begins as hallow undertones like back up singers begin to play alongside her own notes produced. With it the color seems to bite at Fenrir's heels, the creature begins to become lax and languished. The effects had taken hold and with it, Shiina was directly peeling its own strength with the sounds of her voice. A smile forms on her lips. She looks to Simmone and nods and fires a thumbs up to the woman.

Rounding around as Fenrir thaws out, Griswold was already in the thick of it, and the boss had already sustained some serious damage. Setsuna had followed her attack so quickly it was as if the girl was lingering in her head. Kasumi couldn't help but feel a bit disjointed about it, on one hand, they were working rather cleanly together. But it was uneasy having the notion that Setsuna was reading her thoughts. A nod as she had no words to reply to Setsuna, she was right. A blink of pink and another handful of cherry blossoms left behind Kasumi lands and sweeps her hands in front of her in a wide circle. A twist of her shoulders as her hands become charged with energy, a single slam of her right fist causes the beast to shutter and the place struck to break away in pieces. Her face twisted in an intense stare, lacking emotion intentionally squishing her own reluctance. The set up was complete.

Pivoting with Kasumi like her shadow, seconds between the hit that shatters a fair portion of the armor of the target she slices a single long swipe through the hole. Between her and Kasumi a massive chunk of the boss's HP plummets away knocking 1 of the 4 bars completely off and causes it to fade to grey. Once the damage is done both girls are sprayed with its heated defense, as expected. A twist of them both like a waltz they displace in pale cyan and pink. "Better" Setsuna quips to the girl, "Thanks" Kasumi mutters but her fears were still painted upon her face. Setsuna could still tell that the girl was not convinced "One step at a time, focus on the humans that can actually leave this place. There is no other way." She remarks to which Kasumi turns "Your sure? we hardly ever try. But I will do what I must."

"Ready!" Gaius barks and lunges high in the air, Griswold performs a quick bash and takes a couple of retreating steps back. The huge monster attempts to bite at the tank as he takes a step back. Dropping like a meteorite onto its back, the thing manages to remain standing. The glaive however pierces clean through and out the bottom. It's magma insides burn away Gaius's feet as he was now mounted on the thing in bright flaming stone. "Damn, you stayed up! Now, that's what I like to see!" Gaius chuckles holding on tightly as Fenrir was glancing up at him with the intention to shake his new rider. Holding on for dear life to his polearm like reins on a horse. It shakes and shutters rather aggressively "Woah tiger, you aint getting me off that easy!" he laughs with that glint in his eye, clearly having a blast.

As Gaius drops in his own special leap, Shiina triggers her own chorus and notably, the boss begins to weaken. The two girls start pounding away at its softened armor, Simmone can hardly keep up with all that was going on. Keeping her eyes peeled to the energy pools on the field, catching Kasumi getting low again she twists her hand in a twirl and forces more of her energy to peel out in a line that seeks the girl out. Simmone tracks her energy on the HUD, watching it skip back up to a decent level. "Good, looks like its going to drop without a hitch." Simmone remarks to the party, curious if there was some trick they had yet to see like Hel and her soldiers. A glance around has her notice that the hounds that were held to him were now missing. "Keep an eye out! the smaller ones are gone!" Unsure where they may have gone.

As Gaius lands and mounts the beast, he looks to find Shiina who was still holding strong. "Good going girl, my turn." Griswold remarks with a concealed smile. Fenrir swells and the sky parts with a huge yellow sun breaking the clouds and the darkness. A glance up by the beast forces Griswold to do the same. "No." Griswold barks as a dismissal, whatever the hell it was he wasn't going to allow it. "Hold on boy!" he shouts to the man choosing to latch on to the creature. A rush forward with surprising speed based on his size, a burning trail in his wake with his shield held high. Enough magnitude to rack the creatures very being, the fire seems to do very little. The wall, however, and like an anvil, Griswold snaps a tooth out of its gullet. Latching on with his huge plated hands he goes for its throat. A jerk and twist that causes his muscles to scream. Despite its size, the 6'9 mountain of a man lifts it, and Gaius still riding it. Driving it into the soil and soot with enough force to stop it in its tracks. "Your fat as shit." Griswold exhales winded, lording over the beast as he presses his heel into its face pushing it down. "Finish it! For victory Firm Anima!"

"Oh word look at that!" Shiina exhumes as she watches on hearing the response from Griswold moments before he calls to action the whole team. "Well for the fire!" She yelps and rips free a crystal that shatters instantly in response to her song, washing the whole place in a sudden ring of white. Everyone's health leaps to nearly full, as they become washed with the same light for but an instant. "And let's finish this buttwipe!" A single glance to Griswold with a raised hammer, she lifts a balled-up fist in her own form of mimicry of the massive tank. "Go Go Firm Anima!" as she seeks out the others in the group, trying to produce a stereotypical movie moment with the rest of them with goading eyes that seemed to be pleading them to follow suit. A focus to Kasumi and the party forces all of their weapons to fuel with their own sword art colors, coining them all to hit it while it was down as she amplified their strengths.

With a slide of her feet, and a raise of her hands that were engulfed as if she was charging a skill. Like fire from a lantern they loomed and she looks at Shiina "For you, for Raidou." and she looks toward the downed and battered Fenrir. "For Firm Anima" she gulps and time shifts and skips as she displaces. A descending axe kick finds her next to a nearly prone Gaius, as she drives the heel of her right foot as deep as it could muster. The same flaming blood assails her bar, but she pushes as hard as she can with that heel, before retracting it. Dragging her heels apart and building a few sweeping motions, the color of her art distorts to a deep blue as concentration triggers. Her right-hand shifts from a palm, but not to a fist but pointed fingers chosen to kill. Like the ancestor she had forsaken, like the ones that Raidou had forsaken.

"Like water, an ocean. A million ripples can erode ashore. Mugen Tenshin: Crashing Wave." She mutters softly as she drives her hand clean through. It burns from the heat, she closes her hand inside and rips it clean. The damage dealt was as brutal as it was efficient.

The sheer damage that Kasumi had done, was something else. The look on her face was something Setsuna had never seen from her, and if the girl was capable of feeling fear, she would have. The blossom had more than taken on her own appearance at that moment, that same dead look as if she had experienced loss in that one instant. Moving beside the girl Setsuna performs her own reaping aiming to mirror her ally. A vorpal tug of Shiva's Embrace racks and freezes the pressing flames as they splash the small silver haired girl. "Mortal Erasure" She quips as the weapon is sheathed, causing the beast to freeze and crack away. Fenrir was holding on by a thread, staring into the sky as if it would aid him. "You can plead for aid all you wish, its over." She mutters as she unsheathes her blade just a bit, allowing the ice to wash over the failing creature.

Laying on his side still clutching his polearm with a shishkebob'd hound stuck to it, his shoulder holding him steady. "Well shit, looks like its the end for you pal." Gaius remarks with a tap of his foot to see if it was still breathing. "This is just sad, thought you'd put up a bit more fight than this." He chuckles rolling over and grabbing the glaive with both hands. "Guess not, for Firm Anima." Gaius chuckles looking to the others within the field and with a quick rip as he hops over the prone animal its opened like a clam. A spray of fire tosses in all directions, before an audible pop shows:

Fenrir has fallen.

The sun in the sky fades as two howls force Hati and Skoll to appear then fade from existence. "That it, we done here?" Gaius looks to the others as if they would have the answers. Somewhere along the journey, he had forgotten that he dragged them into this mess.

Simmone moves to where the beast fell, eager to see what remained. Nothing short of a crater with a smattering of chilled stone like obsidian. "I do believe we are done here Gaius, have you forgotten that you are the quest lead here?" The black cat goads him rather quickly, not going to let him cop out of this fiasco that he'd brought on. "So is it over, why don't you check the quest you accepted you buffoon." She asks as a still hyper Shiina chuckles as she rushes over and lays in the spot Fenrir died in.

Gaius opens up his menu and begins to peruse the listing, while Simmone takes a look around in the grand cathedral that mirrored some sort of prison. "Strange, I believe that beast was kept here out of fear." she speaks as she looks to the ceiling to large dangling chains, not unlike Hel's own that shackled the soldiers to it.

Dropping down next to Shiina, Griswold takes a load off. All this fighting was leaving the old man a bit tuckered out. "What are you doing lass?" Griswold asked of the child, as she rolled about in the crater left behind. A stare up to the night sky now clear of the risen sun that spawned during the fight, he could not help but wonder. "What you think the guy had planned?" Griswold asked a bit confused at how that played out, curious what would have happened if he had not manhandled the beast into the floor as he had. Removing his helmet for a moment, but keeping it close by just in case. Gaius had yet to confirm if this job was over, so it was best to maintain vigilance just in case it wasn't. He was not sweating strangely enough, and within a second or two he becomes aware that the flames had gone out. So many questions with no one to give him an answer.

The tiny songstress rubbing her face against the stone as she looks to the stars, to the chains that dangled from walls with no ceiling. "Probably, you see the size of that thing?" She says to Simmone as she rolls onto her tummy. Looking to Griswold to answer his inquiry "Well fire dog makes warm spot, feels nice like a heating blanket. Try it big guy." spoken as she rolls toward him with a few ungraceful flops as she was almost flat on two sides. Metallic clanks in each turn, she places her chin on Griswold's huge thigh. "It's ok big man, we did the thing and now it's over probably. Whatever he had planned, he sucked at and got rekt super hard. I mean you did kinda hulk hogan the thing into the ground like nacho libre." Shiina comments patting Griswold's right arm through his armor, finally noticing just how huge the dude was now that he beefed his way through that last fight.

Shaking her hand to get the flakes of cooled stone off of the lines on her skin, she looks deeply into her hand. "It was rather impressive." spoken as she wanders next to Griswold and folds her legs beneath her, placing her soft hand on his massive hooks. The sheer difference in complexion was jarring alone, she almost pasted white and he was tan like leather. "I think it was probably something like Hel, but I do not believe we gave it a chance. It looked like Ragnarok from the stories. Where the hound of hell consumes the sun. I imagine it may have been much worse if it had succeeded." Kasumi offers her wisdom, looking to Simmone and struggling to put on a smile. She knew the woman would not want to see her troubled. She knew that Raidou would have taken pride in what she had done today. So why couldn't she shake this feeling as if she had failed something major?

"Then you prove my point, it's better to strike first and fast. If the beast was able to consume the sun then we would have been much worse off." Setsuna remarked with a metallic click of her weapon shut causing the fog to vanish. "Take no issue with what you have done, for but a moment I saw what you were capable of. You need to stop hiding it behind an excuse. For Firm Anima and the O&I. Now that I know what you can do I can work with you, without fear if you will stop at every turn and put my life in jeopardy." Setsuna moved next to Kasumi removing her katana from her hip and sitting next to her. "Quite the potential, but it must be honed and pushed. You cannot forsake that which may very well save the boy who's name you mentioned. My master's life hangs in the balance as does all of ours. Every second you waste or hesitate away is one less on the dial to which could mean death when it hits 0. It's easy to die, it's easy to preach forgiveness. But what is difficult is living, and doing what must be done regardless of how you feel or don't."

Sliding her rapier away she moves next to Griswold and looks to the stars eagerly seeking out what he was staring for, remembering vaguely the Tanabata event. "Curious isn't it, that moments after the beast has fallen this place seems almost at peace. I assume that you are on point." As she looks to Setsuna who seems to have entered some sort of trance after what she had spoken. "She's right Kasumi, right now we are in a strange way. We need to protect each other, the other players are all we have. We cannot get hung up on sentiment. Back then." She pauses as she recalled when they had first met the boy in red and were forced together. "I thought the same as you, that it was only me who could ensure that I made it out of this. But every time I follow that playbook, things seem so easy. A plan, a team, a guild. A boy in red that seems damn near invincible."

"Aye" Griswold barks out in response to Simmone's words "I found my daughters in here, and now I need to get them out." he looks down to the soft white hand on his own "But don't think that means I am leaving the rest of you. I'll drag you if I have to. I know it's tough, I've seen how you respond to hitting anything that's living. I would say leave it to me, but frankly, it looks like you hit quite a bit harder than I do." Griswold joked spinning his hand over and leaving that tiny paw of Kasumi's in his own. "I would ask of you lass, I know that boy means the world to you. He has made his intentions clear. Would it not be easier to stay in town as he asks?" The question was rhetorical though, he knew how she would answer. It was the same way he would if the girls asked him to. It was hard knowing your loved one was in danger while you were hiding like a coward.

Floundering a bit and latching onto Griswold like a leech, she climbs up further and suctions to the arm she was eyeballing. "Of course, you just got to go with the flow. This is a game, and all these dudes are your friends. Even big guy here is like a papa, that is basically a pick up truck." It then dawns on Shiina "Wait you found your daughters? That's pretty lit who are they?" She asks with more intrigue than most of the others. The thought of who they might be or what they might look like was astounding. She was picturing a bunch of slightly smaller men in skirts, beards and all. Sliding a bit she clings on handing from him like a toddler with her hair limp as she's inverted, the guild smith made for an excellent jungle gym given how beefy he was. "You goin' tell me?" she asked eyeing him with her steel blue eyes in almost a pout. Griswold cannot help but chuckle "Maybe if your good, you're a bit of a pain in the butt. You remind me of someone." Griswold wiggled his appendage a bit.

Kasumi cannot help but look at Griswold as the little girl latched to the side of his shoulder like an ape. It was hard to be sad with that girl around, she was a goof. "It would be easier, but I couldn't bring myself to hide out while I knew Raidou was out there fighting. I need to know he's ok, I need to be able to back him up when it matters." The blossom affirms Griswold's intentions. "Then you know where you stand, something has to give. You cannot be in both places at once, you can't hide from your problems while staring them down. Anything that is difficult is worth doing lass. Remember that and push through that fear of yours." Lifting her hand off of his she looks to her palm and the thought passes through her head.

And it was true, but it was hard to stomach it. There was no question what she had to do, but convincing herself to do it was all the more difficult.

Pulling the trigger on the quest after finally finding it in the droves of other shit hanging in his quest log he barks to the rest. "I found it, yeah looks like we're done. Guess it was just the three dudes. Kinda lame to be honest." Gaius barks out to the group as he begins to follow the now tracked quests line back to finish it up. "Come on, I'll cook us all breakfast. It's rolling on the morning, and hell I think you all earned it." he chuckles as he heads out first, his words force Setsuna to rise from her trance. "And if we are lucky Freya is still out cold, she'd kick my ass if she figured out I was gone all night."

There was silence for a moment, as a single pair of footprints disappear.

"Boy, you want to tell me why Freya would be in your damn kitchen?" Griswold barks in a way that breaks the silence and causes everyone to wince in surprise.
