[F26-PP] Stagnant Pools II: The Re-Slimening <<Slime Conundrum>>

The shrill rattle of pipes as a crumbling count of old rusted metal rained down first as droplets. Following before the one or two odd tubes became a much heavier pile that dumped upon the slime king. From beneath that mess, it lay stagnant and quiet. Kasumi began to brush and clean away the lingered acid on her skin, the distraction proving to be an amicable one. The girl and the rest of the group only had but a minute. Once that minute passed, slinking through what little seams there was were strings of moisture that oozed out. Like cracks in a dam this liquid pooled and gained mass. Each moment a new head forming, or collecting of bones to create armor plates. Finding its shape of adequate size, it hisses and takes to a jarring sprint.

A sharp look on Kasumi's face, finding Freyd's eyes for direction. Which of course, was a chore in its own right. A tiny pair of glossy bits beneath a long hood. But finding something that looked the part, she'd pay him a nod and lunging backward. A blink of violet like a flash, bright yet brief. The tiniest lace of petals as she slams into its right side, her body twisting while airborne her fist locked to its upper jaw. A heavy hit that would leave most in pieces. But the inhuman jerk back, proved it didn't care.

Royal Gel: On an MD 9-10, the <<Slime King>> will launch an AoE attack at the four players with the highest hate, dealing 160 DMG and afflicting them with T4 Blight for two turns. This skill cannot occur once <<Gelatinous Form>> has activated.
Quick Split: On a CD 9+ and LD 10+, the <<Slime King>> will not attack and instead, summon a <<Slime Abomination>> to his aid. A <<Slime Abomination>> can only be summoned once per turn. This skill is deactivated once <<Gelatinous Form>> has activated twice.
Gelatinous Form: Every time the boss’ health reaches 0, two more Kings will spawn, using the next lowest HP available. If a Slime King with the lowest amount of max HP possible dies, he will not spawn any more.

A pile of pipes crash into the scene, in a way that Celeste found completely her style. "Nice shooting Tex. People underestimate the power of a good building." The Blood Raven snickers out as her weapon charges up and lights. A couple heeled steps before she feels this cooling chill move down her spine. Her skin beginning to glow in a soft white light. "What the..."

*squeak*

Finding a patch of left over grime, as it would turn out high heels in any form were not the best for balance. Yeah it gave her the ambiance of elegance and power, but this was all stripped away in a single distracted instant. As she flails ass over tea kettle, landing on the square of her back and sliding past the king. The boss just traces her with his gaze, his head slowly turning as he follows the woman sliding past like a hocky puck on ice. A small clattering of bones are tossed into view as she collides with the pile. 

"Son of a bitch!" Celeste extrudes in outrage, her red hair poking itself out of a collection of bones as she tosses one.

The battle had begun in the strangest mixture of catastrophe and efficiency. "Whoops, sorry." Shiina claps her hands together in an apologetic albeit obvious feint. Shiina didn't remember that Celeste had hardly experienced half of her kit, so her confusion was warranted. As the King held itself in a weird debilitation in the form of a red headed distraction, Shiina's ring twists to another hue. Keeping the pressure was numero uno when it came to combat. Aiming for her party with an outstretched pair of arms, she cracks another song and another ring shifts into place. Like a metallic lock, these symbols move like tumblers. Speed began to claim the group, their very weapons feeling just that much lighter in their arms. In the same vein, the king slowed ever so slightly. It appeared as she remembered, he was quite resistant to her form of control.

"Moar pipes!" she squeals, the oddest concoction of regal and comedic on her appearance.

Upkeep 2: takes 32 from BLGT

The metallic chunking of plate armor as the well built boulder moved in to close the gap. The king was already clearly eying as many targets as it could, and it was his job to halt that shit. Twirling the hammer in his grasp he releases the handle and allows the chain to carry it. Spinning it and tossing it past, the king shifts as the coil flies right over its left shoulder. A singular tight pull, pulls that chain taught and hooks the small mallet like a barb in the things armor. One heavy pull with both hands sees them collide, a heavy slam of Griswold's helmet against the creature. His ears ring, given this thing was quite solid in its own right. But despite it, its attentions were fixated on the smith. "Give it hell!" Griswold barks shaking his head and keeping the binding between him and the boss nice and tight. Coin the blacksmith wrestler routine, having concussed himself and the Slime King with a head butt.

No one wins in a head butt. Except Griswold, because Griswold.

Hopping on the length of chain, it held tight like a tight rope. A few deft steps in a sprint down the length, Kasumi springs and wraps her legs around the things dome. Straddling the thing, her thighs squeezing as she raises both hands and slams them down hard. Her figure twists and a very gut wrenching snap follows, as bones in its visage fall away. Her legs turn offering another pop. It was larger then her by at least twice. Even still the chain does the job, keeping its arms from getting her off. Unfurling her legs she uses the beast who struggled against its binding. The iron lotus, performed and armor compromised. If it was human, its neck would be broken into a billion tiny fragments. It was an ode to its durability. She only floats back for a foot or two before *poof*

Those tiny little lilac petals float harmlessly through the air, as if she'd never existed at all.

Crossing paths with Montjoy, his approach equally unnoticed thanks to Kasumi's fine leg work, the swapped places at the last moment to the sound of oblivion's screeching maw.  Driven forward by gathered momentum, Freyd's hand became as a vacuum that devoured every goopy thing it touches.  Fingers curled into fists, they carved a hissing trail through the Slime King's side leaving only a deep orange scar and angry, glowing fractals in the process of losing their cohesion.  Sparks spilled out like molten metal from a tipped furnace in his wake.  Bouncing to a trickle on the floor behind him, each soon vanished in turn.

"We're about halfway through the first phase.  Keep up the pressure, and be ready for him to split."  Gliding to stop at Celeste's side, he used the last of his forward motion to lift her back to her feet and send her hurling back towards their foe.

As a black covered hand wormed its way into a the pile of bone, it found purchase on something soft. "HEY!" Celeste barked, as she found herself dragged out and catapulted. Boots still covered in the slickest muck, she skates past her weapon charged. A heavy swing under little footing, the woman spins a couple full rotations. The hefty hunk of metal dragging her along, proving how crucial having some sort of center when attacking was. Smoothly drifting right past, her attack so close and yet so damn far. Right into a tube on the far side, she grumbles. "Why the hell. OF all the pl..." Tapping her boots against the wall, trying to pry her top half out of the newly entered port hole. Her legs worming about struggling to find a foothold and some leverage to pop her free. She was going to swear off gelatin for good from this point forward, lest it remind her of her strange shortcoming.

As the battlefield turned to the strangest dance off, mixed with some seriously heavy blows. The vaccum produced by Freyd dealing a considerable number and dwindling the beasts size, Kasumi softening its armor and Griswold holding its attention. This immediately brought back memories from the prior exchange with the Slime King. Footing in this chamber was always a bit of a fleeting issue. Another handful of ash salts into his palm, dragging it down the length of his blade sees it adhere and catch ablaze. His feet slide low, Raidou's skills begin to fire one by one:

[Precision] Activated
[Concentration] Activated

At speeds nearly ever matched, the nomad tears through the room. The sheer force alone sends bits of bone and splashes of slime out in his wake. The velocity cuts a path through muck which settles, leaving a distinguishable trail of flame upon the ground. Raidou connects and the detonation of fire through a wound that had yet to appear. A speed that only the girls could match, an ode to the lack of heavier armors. The robe sways as he spins the blade and points it toward his target. Always on the defensive he sizes his opponent for a rebuttal.

Shiina begins to notice, that conflict was persisting for a bit too long. Weighing her options, concentration kicks in. To the side of names on the left of her vision, a number of percentages draw themselves just to the right of her party members bars. It would seem that HP values were fine, albeit some were a little drained. It confirms her suspicions and with an extend of her hand in an open clutch toward Freyd, his was the lowest given the sheer beating he was expressing. "I gotchu!~" Shiina exhumes in a musically accented tone, closing that hand and feeling a heft to her movement. As she'd pull it to her right, the whispers bar would seemingly climb on its own but the tax taken from the songstresses own. With a sharp exhale, her focus returns to maintaining the effect on the field and keeping things moving in her parties favor.

Chains bound to the Slime King, members of the group taking pot shots at it while the bind remained. Griswold struggles against the creatures strength and pulls taught that binding. Even still the pressure on the line threatens to break it. A thought crosses the smiths mind, and with it a look of eureka passes his brow. He pulls once hard, then rushes the thing. Slamming his shoulder into the mass as he shortens the chains length. Using his foot to brace and overheads it into the floor beneath him. Undenounced to him however, it leaves a piece of the creature behind. This newly created child, worms its way underneath a pile of bone. Eagerly seeking the moment to strike, desperate to remain unnoticed until then.

"I have it!" Griswold barks, holding steadfast with tension on the line. Darting beneath the darkness lies an abomination in waiting. It slinks beneath the refuse and sizes up its opposition.

Catching the slinking creature on her peripheral, the girls attentions turn. Carrying with them her intentions, a sway of her orange hair off her right shoulder as she traces it. "There!" Kasumi squeals slamming her foot into a pile of bone and seeing a spray of lime green liquid. Bones rattle as they crack and break, sending fragments into the air and bouncing off the stone. The creature having been discovered, raises and takes its shape. It manifests a pair of bladed and curved swords for arms, matched with bone teeth in a gelatinous jaw. Her attack had wormed it out, and the follow up?

Kasumi's hips pivot as her left knee raises past her waist. Her center of gravity beginning to transition as her core twists back. A singular turn of her form sees the flat of her right foot carried through clean, operating the part of knife as it carves through in one swift and highlighted motion. Those weapons meant nothing, as they are cut off and with it the creatures size draining ever so slightly. Her attention slides to Freyd, she had this one's attention so he needn't worry.

Watching the scene unfold, Freyd followed Griswold as he pressed the main beast back into a corner, but also the lesser detritus that Kasumi's keen eyes also caught.  Her successful feint and bait had drawn it out and provided him a brief window of opportunity.  A leap and kick destroyed the latch keeping the overhead grate in place.  "Heads up!"  Enough warning for their tank, but the slime wasn't king in the brains department.  Seconds later, a massive metal cheese-grater of a grille swung down and through its back half.  To everyone else, it looked as though the very room just tried to eat its own boss, which jiggled and whimper in its own burbbly way at having lost such substantial mass in an instant.

Freyd himself took advantage of the destruction by landing feet first on the abomination's improvised maw and shattering its teeth before tumbling to a stop a few yards away.

"Someone want to finish these off so we can get to their baby brothers?"

Auric Sunlight pivots as Raidou's hand opens up. The blade turns to match the length of his arm, glowing in a bright gold light. The brilliance of it confirms something potent on deck. Kneeling low, his legs spreading wide as he hunches down, the robe finding a bit of grime on the floor to soak up. A sudden discharge as Raidou took an unimaginable speed toward the boss. Slime King held strong, he intends to drag the blade through his opponent.

"Heads up!" from Freyd sees his eyes dart upward. His body jerks to a halt seeing the robe sway forward in the gust of momentum. 

The color on his blade falters, the moment lost. "Good call." Raidou remarks, taking the opportunity as tubes of slime help themselves out from beneath a massive slotted metal panel. Turning the steel back to neutral, he'd cordon off and wait for another opportunity to rise for him to make good upon.

Standing in a huff, a single piece of jawbone sticking out of her hair. "Enough is a fucking 'nough!" Celeste screams, as a sudden flare of heat begins to bleed off her distorting light like an oven. On the tips of her shoulders, sapphire blue flames of fate breathe themselves to life. Fishing her weapon up with one solid jerk of her right arm, torn free from its embarrassment beneath the refuse. It slams into the ground and cuts a grove into the stone with heft.

Her feet begin to carry her, and behind her a scraping trough in the stone. "Fuck..." she exhumes under belated breath as she pulls it over her right side. Closing the gap, she finishes the statement in a singular and potent slam in a downward strike "...YOU!". Those blue hued waves of fire echo out beneath her outrage. Channeling the broken king of Galtea as his successor, the screeching of the boss as its caught in the wedge shaped blast. It looked like the breath of a dragon. What survives scatters as far as it could from the woman, hoping to escape with its life.

As a number of various prompts light up the girls screen, she maintains her grip on @Freyd's stamina. The whispers damage was massive, but so was his expenditure. Another harsh tug as her blonde hair continued to flip about and drift sees that bar turn blue again and increase. "Jeez, You sure are a lot to handle." Shiina gests with a smirk on her face. A surge of energy, and for the briefest moment a pair of wings manifest and collect around her body. It seems almost like divine aid was keeping her own energy full. "You owe me." The songstress offers quizzically, the gist? Something sweet from a floor she'd never been to.

Freyd got all sorts of places, and likely knew a place. She wanted it and it was an easy motivation. As a wave of blue fire scattered through the place, Griswold stepping back. The Slime King splits into a buncha littler Slime Kings? Slime Kingu? Slime Kingi. There were more of them.

The hearty tank steps back from the fire breath that Celeste had just spit out, an outcry that could make anyone smile. The chain now lax, the frame to which he was clutching the boss that was now nothing more then a splattering. A sigh of relief, as he pivots on his heel and hucks the hammer in Freyd's direction. A searing hot mallet right through an awaiting remainder, sees a shower of blue sparks. The fight was over...

He turns and gives the chain a heavy tug, pulling the mallet back into his grasp. But the collecting slime breathes an ominous retraction of his thoughts. It was getting back up, in two halves instead of a whole. Griswold grunts, releases the hammer and dangles it by the binding to its pommel. With one broad stroke, the piece finds itself in a wide sweep cold clocking one hard enough to jar its noodle and glancing the other. But they both seem relatively unfazed, one even squatting out a child from the arm the smith had struck.

"That's just gross." Griswold remarks in that deep tone, with the most uncomfortable look on his face.

As the beast would split, Kasumi seeks out the nomads gaze. They lock eyes and pay each other a silent nod. Raising her arms in an exaggerated circular motion, akin to that of a yin yang as they spin about. Her hands come to her chest, slightly off to her right just below the shoulder. A gentle exhale before she bursts forward leaving a lavender colored trail. An outstretched pair of hands, her fingers hooked and scrunched behind flattened palms. This blow sees the creature rattled, as the vibration causes whatever crap it had plucked from the floor in its attempts to reassemble burst from its hide. Exposed, Kasumi looks to Freyd. The setting had gone swimmingly, what would come next is that same inky mass that would hose them all down.

Ripping her hands back in a jerk, her legs go from a deep squat to lower before she vaults straight up and disappears. Leaving nothing but cascading petals.

Gelatinous Form: Every time the boss’ health reaches 0, two more Kings will spawn, using the next lowest HP available. If a Slime King with the lowest amount of max HP possible dies, he will not spawn any more.

Slime Abomination:
Back and Forth: If a <<Slime Abomination>> takes 500 DMG before its next turn, it will attack twice during the following turn.
Strength in Numbers: If any other Slime monsters are alive, every second attack, the <<Slime Abomination>> will instead heal every Slime for its DMG.
Unison: If another Slime monster falls, <<Slime Abomination>> will gain +10 DMG for the rest of the battle.

Locking eyes with Kasumi, the Mugen Tenshin duo knew how to deal with this. An opponent could not act if they were destroyed, and a shattered enemy cannot fight. Although he despised the notion, here it was not the time for semantics. He pays the girl a silent nod, joining in her bull rush as their paths intertwine. In a change of direction, they manage to dazzle the opponents into targeting the wrong individual. As the trail of purple interweaves with his own gold, both connect with heavy handed blows. Where Kasumi's was a pair of palms, Raidou's was a single followed by a swing of his blade. The armor softened moments before a cut came through. An attack in tandem glances off the edge of Auric, sending a shower of sparks as he follows through. Using the creatures own attack as a pivot point, the nomad slides around its back, offering a following elbow sending it forward in a tumble.

Opening sought.  Opening spotted.  Between Raidou and Kasumi's strikes a whirling dervish of shadows reeled and wove themselves into a cascade of fury ready for unleashing.  Freyd stepped through, fist first, unloading on the half a slime king until its Jello-O jiggled to its very core.  The surge unfortunately pushed its better half away and out of range, but left the recent spawn to take the brunt of his assault.  Pooped into existence mere moments before, it might have sought to say hello, or somehow been a more cordial slime than its fellows.  It never got that chance.  Freyd smeared it on the back wall in a layer so thin you couldn't scrape it for samples, even if you'd wanted to.  There was nothing left of that one.

The storm of light and dark swing inward, swallowing the Whisper it had birthed and disappeared - he along with it.  Back in the recesses of the chamber, he waited for another opportunity to lather, rinse, repeat.

Freyd vanishes into a puff a smoke, disappearing into the shadows as they coalesce in the center of the room. Beneath that display of power, the various outcries of the creatures caught in the blast give Celeste a sense of direction. Ripping up her cleaver style great sword, seeing bits of the floor being dragged up with it. An exhale sees her breathe visible, an aftershock of the all consuming shadows.

A metallic clank as she grips the handle, giving it a twist as she eyes down its length. Flames jump down its length as if a violent showing of her intention. The moment the light returns, she screams "Fuck off!" with a bloodcurdling dullness to her eyes. One that most didn't see, save those unfortunate enough to meet her in ladonian skies and fail to meet her demands.

A wave of heat claims the room again, as one broad stroke sunders slime and boils it away.
