Stretching her arms upwards and outwards, Nari couldn't help but notice the popping sounds that the muscles made in response to the sudden movement. It still amazed her, even after all this time, just how realistic the game was in some senses. Far more than she thought it should be, all things considered - but that made it as enjoyable as it did damning, in a way. Well, I guess it could be a lot worse. Imagine if we were stuck in some early game design that was all 2D animation and lack of movement... She knew, logically, it was impossible, but the thought gave her a giggle regardless.

"Hey, I'm headed out for the day! Find something to entertain yourself that keeps you out of my treats." Nari gave a wave and smile in response to Onora's commentary, before bringing up the menu and glancing over the quests she still had to complete. The list was, slowly perhaps, growing smaller and smaller with each passing day. A fact that she wasn't entirely upset about, but that made her realise just how long she'd been in this world. In the continuous drag that was trying to clear it all. Shrugging it aside, she opened up her messaging system, scrolling and finding the name of her most recent acquaintance.

Hey, just wanted to see if you were up for following up with the secondary quest line for that <<Scents of the Wild>> quest we had started. Looks like part two is tracking down Kumatetsu...which should be fun!

Anyways, let me know if you want to go, I'll be on Floor 8 all day today, somewhere near the main waterways in Ellesmera.

She hit the send button and closed the application, leaning back and closing her eyes for a singular moment before deciding that it was time to head off, knowing that she would feel bad if the boy had been wandering around looking for her in a location that she specified, when she wasn't even there. Pushing herself to her feet, she called to the small kitsune that had been resting beside the fireplace, waking it from it's otherwise well-deserved rest. "Come on Mio, let's get going. Things to do, and all that...and Onora will be mad if we laze about all day again..."

"Let's see," Wulfrin said to himself as he scrolled his inventory after finishing his morning crafts. "I think I've got everything I need. New gear? Well I got that new armor, but I think I'll take the tier downgrade for Blighted Fang. Outside of going and just farming mobs, I think I've got all the levels I can. Guess I could message Nari, if she is okay with drawing the agro of whatever we fight I should be fine, but i should still be careful." Just as the suggestion was made, a message appeared in his inbox form Nari. "That settles that." Wulfrin quickly drafted a reply to Nari.

Wulfrin grabbed a few things for travel. Namely his potions that he had been stockpiling. He had the feeling he might be needing them. He departed Coral via the teleport gate for the eighth floor. It didn't take long to find his heavily armored companion. "Sorry for making you wait so long." Wulfrin apologized. "I got caught up with various other quests trying to get up to at least tier 2, but now I'm here and ready to hunt some beastie. Do we have any idea what we might be hunting?"

Jumping down from the small barrier that she'd been sitting on, Nari gave a soft nod in welcome to the newer player, listening as he listed off his accomplishments. She gave a another soft wave of her hand as his apology and explanation came to an end, as if brushing away the words as needless. Instead she focused on his question, bringing up a small menu and flipping it around to show the player the image that had been shared with her. A large, grizzly like creature was the fore of the image, and Nari smiled a bit as she explained what she'd been able to gather for information.

"Seems this is Kumatetsu, some sort of...forest guardian? I guess. The quest is basically...hunt them down, and bring it down. It definitely looks like it'll be difficult though. No area attacks, but it's self-buffing, and has a nasty paralyzing roar. Which...is only a major concern if you somehow draw all it's attention. Err, don't worry, that shouldn't happen. My entire role is to draw attention and let it beat me to a semi-pulp, all while...anyways. Point is we should be fine, but we do need to find it first, which means travelling the woodlands in search of a bear." She gave a sudden shrug and smile, closing the menu and looking to the woodlands that surrounded the town itself. Sarcastically, she completed her thought aloud. "Should be easy enough. I mean how much woodland can there possibly be?"

A sudden thought crossed her mind, and she pulled up her menu and pulled a number of items from it, consuming each in a frenzy of preparation. "Ready? Let's head out and begin that whole search..."

Wulfrin followed Nari into the wilderness. The sprawling forest's canopy was dense, blocking out a majority of the midday sun. "It would certainly help if we knew what we were hunting," Wulfrin said as he started inspecting the forest floor. "Unfortunately all we have to go off is the line that I assume references Kumatetsu, the fiercest beast with unmatched strength." Wulfrin spotted some peculiar tracks in the underbrush. The tracks were much larger than any of the others he had seen and they were very clearly predatorial. "I really hope it's not whatever made these, because I really don't want to see the bear that made these." Wulfrin needed to learn to keep his mouth shut. The duo followed the path towards a clearing that definitely screamed "Welcome to a boss arena!"

There wasn't much cover in the clearing, so their survival depended solely on either taking hits or avoiding the blows with agility. With a silent nod the two pressed into the clearing. Wulfrin held back allowing Nari to take the first steps in. There was an odd silence as the two pressed into the lair. The eerie silence sent chills down Wulfrin's back. The forest was creepy enough as is, now they were in the open both in a readied combat stance. Wulfrin's Blighted Blade had been drawn from it's anti-corrosive scabbard. "Maybe they're hunting?" Wulfrin spoke in hushed whispers while back to back with Nari.

Their journey had led them along small pathways that seemed to end far sooner than they should've. In fact, as Nari rounded what felt like only the second corner - figuratively speaking - of their trail, she found herself coming to a quick halt. Ahead of her Wulfrin, who she had let take the lead on their search, had pointed out what appeared to be a lair of some sort. One which, clearly enough for even Nari to hear without paying much attention, seemed to echo with the sounds of something within.

"Certainly sounds like a bear...and if it made those tracks you pointed out, well, it'll be a big one." She stepped up to the forefront of the lair, turning back to Wulfrin with a grin as she hoisted shield and spear into a more aggressive grip. Calmly, as if trying to instil some form of courage or comfort in the other player, she tried to reassure the fear that had seemed to hover over him moments ago. "Everything will be fine so long as you remain behind me...you've still got that teleport crystal? Make sure it's at the ready, and you'll be fine. I'll distract it and call attention to myself. You focus on cutting it down from the side. Try not to draw too much attention towards yourself...so long as it's entirely focused on me, we're good."

She gave a single nod, before turning into the lair. The depth of it wasn't far from it's entrance, and in only a few dozen steps, she found herself face to face with a creature that was ringed by a halo of light from above; an opening in the ceiling of the tall cave illuminating the area in a way that likely shouldn't work naturally. The thing was a large bear, twice the size of any Grizzly that Nari had ever seen, and just as dangerous. Hoisting the shield in front of herself, she gave the heavy metal a few taps with her spear, shouting out even as she did so in order to draw the attention to herself. "Over here you gigantic mutt of a wilder dog! Focus on the point that will bring about your end, and fear the breath of ice and wind that will rupture your entire form!"

Wulfrin drew his Blighted Fang. As Nari shouted her challenge to the beast, Wulfrin sprung into action. Kumatetsu had focused solely on Nari's challenge. The massive bear towered over the duo as it prepared to lash out against the tiny morsels that had come to act as its meal. Wulfrin slashed outward, raking the sickly looking blade across the bear's exposed underbelly. The familiar movement of Horizontal creating a trail of blue light behind the blade. The impact was strong leaving a large gash across the bear's center of mass. From the wound left behind dark necrotic veins appeared and began to spread across Kumatetsu's hide. Wulfrin used the rest of his momentum to roll past Kumatetsu, his blade still glowing ready to continue his combo.

Kumatetsu seemed unphased by the strike and charged Nari. It slammed the entirety of its mass into the stalwart defender. Wulfrin thought she would have been at least knocked back a few feet, but instead Kumatetsu was the one sent reeling as a wave of arctic wind flung the bear backwards. The beast wretched as the blight coursed through its body. Surprisingly a decent amount of its Hp had already depleted.

"All right Smokey," Wulfrin said as he tightened his grip ready to strike again. "Let's tango."

The bear creature had reacted to her taunt, it's eyes drawn to her form even as Wulfrin rushed forwards to engage it, the blade in the man's hands slashing across the beast's form in a simplistic dance of combat; one which spoke of a more aggressive, than defensive mannerism. Nari's eyes glanced over to the man only to ensure his safety as he rolled through and beyond, content to see that he had placed some distance between himself and the bear through his attack - not that it mattered.

The slash of the claw was barely noticed as Nari's armour deflected the majority of the assault against her, and she cocked her head in response, smiling slightly as she pulled back the spear into a ready stance. Without looking away from the bear, she yelled out to Wulfrin, her voice carrying a level of calm and enthusiasm that should've been out of place in the current situation. "See? The bear's all bark and little bite. You keep doing what you're doing there, and we'll have this over in no time! Nothing to worry about at all!"

She stepped in towards the oversized beast of a bear, bringing her spear outwards in a flurry of stabs meant to drive it back, as well as whittle it down. She focused her assault on it's weaker points, looking to hit joint and bend, where the fur was slimmer in areas and easier to penetrate. At her side, Mio danced around the bear, drawing it's attention as much as the knightess did in her plate armour.

Seizing the opportunity to try out a new Sword Skill in the heat of a boss battle was probably not the best idea.

As Nari completed her rebuttal to Kumatetsu's attack, Wulfrin noticed an opening in the boss's defenses. His blade still flickered with the light of a Sword Art poised to strike. Truthfully wulfrin had never gotten to properly stretch his legs in a combat since Mama Boar, and that was before he was able to power level his weapon skill. He had hoped the devastating Sword Skill Nova Ascension would demolish the rest of the boss's Hp but as Wulfrin began to execute the combo finisher, he lost his balance. His strike fell short of Kumatetsu, as he fumbled his way to the ground.

"Damn," Wulfrin groaned as he recovered from the fall. "Note to self, practice skill chaining outside of boss battles not in them."

Kumatetsu shook off it's stunned state and let out a mighty roar, its form growing more jagged and ferocious. No doubt its "second phase" but it didn't matter. Looking at the now red HP bar of the boss, Wulfrin assumed Nari could probably take it down while he recovered briefly. Never the less, the now even more roided out bear was still a terrifying sight to see. Wulfrin moved quickly to his feet to prepare for another assault.

Wulfrin had moved in for the kill, only to find his feet giving out beneath him. Nari's gaze shifted slightly in order to make sure the man was alright, before returning to the giant bear that had begun to move only a few breaths after Wulfrin's failed assault. Calmly, with an eased practice, she slipped in between the two, placing her own bulk between target and attacker, ensuring the safety of her party member - if only for the moment. Without looking at the man, she called out in answer to his spoken words - knowing he'd been talking to himself, and yet unable to remain quiet on the subject.

"I wouldn't beat yourself up too hard. Sometimes things happen...try and take a slower approach, keep your feet closer to the ground - a soft slide will be less likely to take you down than a hard step. Focus your centre of balance, shift your weight as you need to in order to counterbalance." She knew it was all basic advice, but sometimes the basics were forgotten or ignored in the heat of conflict, and a small reminder never hurt more than a bit of pride. "Keep yourself upright and even if you miss, you can fall back into a defensive position and not open yourself up nearly as much."

She took a step forwards, letting her feet glide across the ground as she pushed forward with her left arm, forcing the spear outwards towards the bear. Her right remained locked in place, keeping the shield mere centimetres from her core, held in place for any retaliatory attacks that might be thrown her way.

"Thanks for the assist," Wulfrin said as he returned his necrotic blade to its protective scabbard at his side. "Guess that's one down and five to go." Wulfrin pulled out the small tablet that he had revived at the end of the first quest. On section on it had begun to glow with a dull green light as a cave painting of Kumatetsu filled a portion of the rocky canvas. He flipped the tablet to the back side where the inscription remained, the guide as to what they may face next. 

"Assuming that was the fiercest of beasts," Wulfrin said as he studied the prophetic text. "That leaves the sentinel of the afterlife, the water-borne predator, the unmoved titan, the sly shadow, and that which prowls and safeguards the sky. While Kumatetsu was quite a simple fight, I doubt that luck will hold out for too much longer." He returned the tablet to the infinite void that was his inventory. He scanned the forest around them. Now that the beast was felled, it felt rather calming. He found a nearby tree that had fallen, likely from when Kumatetsu would leave the comfort of his home to hunt, and took a seat. A brief moment of respite as he watched his energy slowly begin to recover. He knew it was a bad idea to linger, since the boss would likely to respawn, but a brief stop wouldn't hurt right?

In a show of shards and colours, the beast had disappeared following Nari's final strike. She'd allowed herself to relax only once she'd been sure it was gone - and that nothing else was going to appear in it's place. Giving her shoulders a soft shift, she loosened the muscles that had begun to tense with the conflict. Letting the spear fall back into the groove of her elbow, her standard resting position with the weapon when it wasn't being immediately used or stored, she shifted her attention back to Wulfrin.

"I wouldn't exactly call it a simple fight, so much as I came prepared. As to the others...well, I think Kumatetsu may actually have been the easiest in reality. It's a straight forward blunt and bruise fighter - focused on assaulting us as easily as we assault it. The others...from what I've heard about them, are far more focused on alternative combative efforts - either relying on minions and summons, or skills that cripple our normal fighting ability."[/color] She waved a hand towards the tablet, smiling as she considered the fact that they'd completed this portion of the quest so quickly. "There's still time left in the day...if you wanted we could hunt down the next opponent...or hit up a dungeon. I'm sure there's one around here somewhere."

She quickly double checked her inventory, confirming that she at least had a map to help locate one of the nearest dungeons - something she'd learnt to stock up on whenever she had the chance. Wandering a floor in search of quest items was one thing, but dungeons were far harder to come by if one didn't know what they were doing - and the maps available from broker and merchant alike were well worth their col.

"A dungeon wouldn't be too bad," Wulfrin replied. "Hell I'd settle for a fishing spot. I've just about tapped my Col and Material reserves by grinding crafts." He wasn't wrong. Ever since he had opened his shop, he had been in it nearly everyday grinding out his smithing skill. He was poor when it came to resources, as his main focus had been levels. He rarely took the time to unwind and relax to gather materials. This had caused his progress to come to a rather sudden halt. "No Col or Mats, means no stops to the general merchants. That's a dangerous position to be in." He lay back on the log watching his energy slowly recharge. The tranquil sounds of the forest reminding him of old camping trips. "I'm honestly good for whatever, but first a nice break is in order." The words felt odd to say, as they weren't in a safe zone. The tranquil sounds of the forest were punctuated by the occasional sound of a predator finding its next meal serving as a grim reminder to not let their guard too much.

She gave a soft nod as the other player agreed to look for the dungeon. A quick glance through her inventory confirmed that she had only a single map that she could use in this instance, and as she read the details on it she found herself smiling even broader. Her eyes lifted from the menu as she flipped it around for the other player to read, her expression one of excitement as she spoke. "Well, I've got one single map left...I'd honestly forgotten about this one, but I think it's exactly what we need in this instance - plus, look at all the bonuses it gives! Great for starting out, in your situation."

She retrieved the item from her inventory and glanced over it, comparing it to the mini-map in her display as she considered their direction and the distance to the markers. Turning slightly, she began walking, calling back over her shoulder as she strode towards what would make up the entrance to the dungeon itself. "According to the map, it should be this way...and not too far off either. Probably looking for some hole in the wall rock formation, or maybe a gate that leads to a separate area within the map itself...honestly these things are always so random and wild, it will never cease to amaze me..."

She led the pair of them along the path outlined by the map, turning slightly in a consistent southernly direction - at least as far as she could tell. It wasn't long until they came to an archway that was built into the side of a hill, standing beneath a tall tree that stood above all the others in the vicinity. Nodding towards it with a smile, she moved to the archway itself, a bright tunnel leading deeper into the hill visible as they came closer. "Told you so...ready for this?


Nari-Lanreth uses Dungeon Map: Cave of Wonders | This map may only be opened on floors below Floor 50 (and only for floors that have so far been explored). For the duration of this dungeon, all players will receive a +2 LD that stacks with on top of their LD values. This +2 LD bonus takes effect when rolling for loot on monsters and when rolling on the LD table for the dungeon reward. All players also receive +50% col obtained at the end of this dungeon.

As his energy bar finally topped out, he rocketed himself back up to his feet. He stretched the non-existent tension from his sword arm. The virtual form didn't need the motion, but out of mental habit it happened anyway. As he listened to his companion's explanation. Hesitation started to creep into his mind as it often did with uncharted territory. This however was worse, something was triggering his mental warnings. He made possibly the dumbest decision he could have made, and accepted Nari's offer. Kumatetsu fell relatively quickly, and he had Nari to help him out. This couldn't go that bad could it?

As the pair passed through the tunnel entrance, the eerie sense that he was in over his head began to creep back in. "Now' not the time for hesitation," Wulfrin muttered under his breath. "Keep on your toes, this could very well be your resting place if you don't."

His fears became ever more apparent as they entered the first main chamber. As the pair stepped into the room, movement could be heard surrounding them. Four guardians wrapped in layers of cloth like mummies appeared and surrounded the pair. With no hesitation Wulfrin leapt into action, his sword glowing a brilliant green hue. The four strike skill allowing him to allocate a strike for each of the new foes. Of the four targets only one managed to miss. The miss almost caused him to lose footing again, but he managed to recover. He used the remaining momentum to fall back positioning Nari between him and the foes.

He ducked underneath the doorway, covering his unadjusted eyes from the burning sunlight. He patted the burning cinders that stuck to his jacket, a remnant of the fallen blazing treant left behind in the catacombs. Bleeding Giant remained in his grip, although there was no danger in sight. In the forest once more, he smiled and turned to his friend.

"Another day, another dungeon," Morningstar said, swiping open his inventory to examine his loot. There was nothing special among its contents but items were items. If he had no use for them, someone else surely would. To his right, quite a ways away, he noticed something sparkle. It was red, perhaps a gem of some sort. He pointed towards it, squinting. "Over there—is that sand? In the forest?" The thought of the combination fried his brain. 

He nudged Freyd, who was locked onto his dungeon rewards. "Hey, look."

They took a closer peek at the strange cave and came to the quick conclusion that it was a Cave of Wonders. "Never seen one in person. Got enough energy for one more? These have increased loot odds, I think. Didn't realize they were naturally spawning, though."

It took them very little time within the rocky, sandy tunnel to discover their first enemies—and, some friends. "No shit! Small world!" He exclaimed at the sight of Nari and Wulfrin. It took him a second before he questioned the latter's appearance there. Unless he had gained thirty levels since the last time they had met, he was in a dungeon far above his tier. He had balls.

With a tap of his boot, Morningstar activated charge and zoomed into the fight. The three nearest cave guardians took the brunt of his attack, which was just short of a simultaneous KO.

Freyd's cowl peaked out from behind a half-dozen glowing UI windows, the contents of which were obscured to anyone but the owner.  Morningstar's comments about the Cave of Wonders had piqued his interest, having encountered such phenomenon only once before.

"No," he started, hesitantly, as the screens containing his vast stores and inventory spontaneously shut.  "They are no naturally occurring, so far as I have ever heard.  And if they did, I'd have run them a dozen times over by now.  Those things are literal gold mines."  Swiveling to search, including glimpsing through the sights of local shadows, revealed no other presences.  Could some other player have simply opened theirs here?  The coincidence was possible, though highly improbable.  He was still debating whether or not to risk stumbling into someone else's dungeon when Morningstar's back vanished around the first tunnel turn and the portal began to shimmer.

"Ah, crap.  Can't leave him in there alone, can I?"  A lunge and dive slipped him through the closing eye just in time to tumble back to his feet on the far side, racing ahead to catch up.  Even the cowl itself seemed to flare wider with surprise, as did both Freyd's concealed eyes beneath said hood, in coming face to face with two known allies.  Morningstar had already engaged the four mummified goons making nuisances of themselves and carrying the signature tells of the first wave in the dungeon.  Wait... Nari's here.  That means... The Whisper's gaze fell upon Wulfrin with immediate concern.  Action first.  Words after.

Grabbing the first guardian from behind, by the wrappings around its waist, Freyd yanked harshly upwards to essentially jerseying the poor mob.  As it stood flailing, he spun and kicked it into another adjacent hostile, both of them popping like the dust cloud out of a freshly opened back of Doritos.  Said cloud provided him the cover he needed to scoot low, passing just under Morningstar's wide swing to grab the next mob by the throat and spear it into a sharp outcropping along the cave wall.  The last found Freyd's knee driven into its crotch, crumpling it like an under-stuffed build-a-bear, only to receive a swift follow-up punch to the face.  Violence promptly concluded, Freyd turned to casually greet their companions.  

"Uh, hey, you two.  Doesn't it kinda seem like a bad idea to take on a dungeon at this tier without any backup?"

Behind him, the last remaining mob twitched and writhed in electrically induced seizures while Freyd playfully counted down its final few second on his right hand fingers.

She'd strode into the tunnels without apprehension or concern, and as the first wave of creatures had appeared she found herself settling into a natural form, her spear resting on the edge of the shield in a comfortable way. She watched as Wulfrin had launched out towards their opponents, taking the lead and cutting into a trio of them with a wide swing. Smiling slightly wider, she gave a quick bark of enthusiasm as he stepped back away from the creatures, her own smile a mixture of excitement and encouragement towards the new player.

"Nice strikes! Clean, good work. See, you've got nothing to fear right now - we've got this!" Even as she said it, the sound of another voice caught her attention and she found herself turning slightly to see familiar faces approaching from the side. Almost instantly the pair had leapt into the fight, bringing down three of the creatures and leaving a single one for her to tend with. Calmly stepping towards the final creature, she gave a side-eyed glance towards the two new arrivals, her smile hesitant but welcoming. "Captain Star, Shadow Master...didn't expect to see you two here. Thanks for the help, by the way - but uh...what are you doing in here?"

"We spotted the open hellmouth for the dungeon, which was unusual in and of itself," Freyd replied while summoning a small buffet of num nums and setting a bizarrely shaped platter with small round dishes of creme brulée laid out in convenient portions for each to partake.  "That only tends to happen when the full party doesn't pass through all at once, in my experience, or your group is undersized.  Glory guts over here," he jerked his thumb over his left shoulder, towards Morningstar, "rushed in before we could consider things."

Downing a few sundries as chasers, the Whisper looked like he must not have eaten for a week. The more experienced among them would notice it as a cause for concern.  Freyd didn't open the larder up for nothing.  "Did you open this place, Nari?  Because I'm really hoping you're about to tell me you just found it laying out in the open.  Otherwise, our friend here may be about to have a very bad day."  It was clear he meant Wulfrin. 

"Here," he added tossing an assortment of other consumables, having intuitively engaged his appraising nature to gauge some of the novice player's struggles.

"The portal closed behind me when I passed, and since I'm seriously doubting you want to waste your one and only shot at accessing this place, that means we're not likely breaking out the teleport crystals just yet.  Am I right?"  Judging by their faces, he probably was.

"A T4 dungeon," he whispered to Nari through clenched teeth while turning to tighten a boot strap he didn't have.  "This kid's good, Nari, but he could end up as a smear on the wall.  What were you thinking?"

Clearing his throat, and dusting a few offending crumbs from the edge of his cowl he resumed a more upbeat demeanor. 

"So, we doing this thing, or does anyone else need a minute?"

"Glory guts over here rushed in before we could consider things."

Morningstar turned his head, chugging a liquor of light. He wiped his lips, quenched by the vitamin D. "What? I could sense that my number one pupil was in terrible danger."

Nonchalantly, he restored the rest of his consumables in preparation for the fights to come. He approached Wulfrin with a pat on the shoulder. "These places get progressively harder the deeper you go. Keep a crystal close by. I'd rather not see you get squished in here," he smiled, holding back the urge to smack him upside the head. Entering a dungeon two tiers too high was a foolhardy move. Even at his level, Morningstar avoided dungeons without a solid group (and he was hardly risk-averse). Instead of saying so, he congratulated the man on his first completed wave. "Good hits, by the way. I caught a glimpse on our way in."

Half-worried, he nodded to Freyd. At least he was there. "Ready when you all are."

"Tier 4?!" Wulfrin exclaimed. "What the hell have I walked into?" The sense of dread washing over Wulfrin, causing his face to go pale. Then he realized all three of his mentors were in the same place at the same time. To time to bitch out now. He stood up and dusted himself off, as Freyd and Morningstar prepared to go deeper in. They flew through their menu's like Elder Scrolls players in the midst of a combat devouring 30 wheels of cheese. Freyd offered Wulfrin some items from his near endless supply. Eagerly Wulfrin took the meals restoring his energy and giving him another sizeable boost to his damage mitigation. The praise from Morningstar helped lift his spirits as well.

"I'm down to take a crack at it," Wulfrin swallowed back the last of his nerves returning to the determined state he was always in. "If I'm going down at least I get to go down swinging next to the three responsible for getting me as far as I have." Wulfrin picked his blade up and prepared to continue the assault. "I agreed to this, so I'm not going to waste the map Nari used. Am I under leveled? Yeah, but this could be a good opportunity to experience what a boss raid might be like. Let's clear this dungeon!" Wulfrin looked up to these people. It was like being in the presence of a trainer who had been spending day after day training you for the next big challenge you would face. For Wulfrin that test was about to be clearing a dungeon easily twenty or more levels higher than his own. Hopefully the rewards at the end were worth it.
