He went from time to time, although he preferred Raitoborou bay for its lack of sea monsters. But sometimes, sea monsters were exactly what you needed. He sat on the rocks, away from the water, and stuck his head in a book. It was his own: a leather-bound journal filled to the brim with untidy handwriting and surprisingly polished sketches. How he could do one but not the other astounded the few people he let into his books, but he thought it was very normal. A group of six battled the local crab. It looked like they might finish soon, so Morningstar kept an eye out, peeking out from his pages every so often to make sure they hadn't gone. Earlier, he had sent a message to a handful of players to see who was actively looking for quests. Any hopes of finding some connection between the Sahagin and various eldritch horrors from Ilridge and surroundings had produced only one thing: a very waterlogged Whisper who longed for a sunny beach and to remove the dive suit more passably calling itself his heavy armor. Dragging himself from the depths, Freyd groaned stiffly, rotating his right arm to loosen the effects an ocean's weight worth of compression had placed upon his joints. "Guess I should just be grateful for the water breathing potions and absence of the bends." An article he'd read once had left a painful mental image he was grateful no one had to experience. It was a horrible way to die. Plucking the last few strands of seaweed stragglers in his shaggy mop of unruly hair and tucked inconveniently in the various folds of his armor. A high pitch scream swiveled his neck round the corner, realization dawning that he'd clamored up the wrong coast and found himself on a completely different island than expected, just as a sudden aid request appeared, partially blocking his vision. "What the... Morningstar?" One of the few he'd allow passage through a multitude of filters implemented to prevent precisely such occurrence. "Wait a sec..." Turning round the other direction, the familiar and adventurous blond scoundrel was sitting on a low set of breakwaters a hundred feet or so down the beach, casually flipping pages. Sauntering over, regretting taking the sandy route, he was half-covered in sandpaper grit by the time he reached the sender. "How do you always manage to make all this feel so.... normal?!"
