[F12-PP-PT] Where Nightmares Tread [Slimin 2, the talkening]

Recommended Posts

That sliver of ice trapped in her right hand extrudes bitter fog that rolls to the ground, billowing outward as Mirianna weighs her options and what it was she wanted to do. She could easily dispatch this player that had so foolishly rushed headlong past her henchmen and straight into something she clearly knew nothing about. Like a hamster jumping into a lions mouth or a child sticking its hand into a blender, and Mirianna couldn't help but find it amusing how pathetic and filled with an utter disregard for self preservation Shayla's actions were. It had wrapped all the way past irritating into comedy. A sharp outburst of laughter as Mirianna struggles to keep a straight face. "My My, aren't you adorable. Well wolf, what if I cut out your eyes and feed them to the vultures and mail your heart back to whoever you call family?" The threat was borderline gruesome, and a test more then anything. Everyone was a hotshot until reality sunk in, a badass until they had something shoved through their sternum.

"I'll tell you what, you give me that key. You get nothing but you give me an excuse to not carve you into pieces and leave you strewn all over this chapel. And consider it a gift from me to you, that I don't have to chop you up and waste my time and energy." There was a tinge of false modesty in a tone of sarcasm, obviously toying with the girl. Reaching the space directly in front of Shayla, she holds out her left hand and curls her fingers inward twice. "Now be a good girl and hand it over, otherwise this is going to get ugly fast. Lamb." The sharp and brief threat a lot more obvious this time, as to punch through such a thick skull and leave nothing up for misinterpretation.

Hearing the woman's threats, they was descriptive and very fascinating. Walking forward slightly to pick the paper and key up from the ground. Slowly moving the foot or so more to stand in front of the woman. Her chest was pounding fast but not for the reasons that one might think. This was the most excitement that she has had since being in the game. Even the beach was a bit boring but this was more in her ball park.

Setting both the list and the key in the woman's palm. Taking one step back, Shayla's eyes were dead locked on this female's gaze. She knew that this person would do exactly what she threatened, yet she was not scared, neither of them were. "That paper lists potential treasure on different floors. Don't bother with the first three, I already looted them." She could feel the chill of the icy mist coming from the woman, Shayla would just smile. This game was not like real life, but it was as real as it was going to get. "I have a copy of this list in here" Shayla would tap a single finger to the side of her head.

She would shift slightly and sit on one of the many benches that that were sprouting around the dead building. Some of them were broken or shattered to pieces. Shayla kept her eyes on the woman as she unlocked the chest on the back wall. There was something about this woman, something that she couldn't pin point. "Just curious, why do you loot like this. I mean there are other ways to get better equipment. Everything I got from the other chests were practically useless." She genuinely wanted to know. There was nothing beside the little money that was found that she could actually use.

As the kid regurgitated all manner of examples and reasons toward Rosaria of why she was 'doing it wrong' like he was some sort of expert, completely unaware of her motives and the reasons why things were the way they were. When she acted drunk but clearly wasn't, some were observant enough to realize she was faking. But unlike Kodo who didn't swing the way she was pitching they would take such an action as an invitation to play along. What was pretending to be drunk and falling in someone's lap but an elegant invite to push forward and break the ice? The kid was far too young to understand the nuance of such social engineering. That didn't bother her nearly as much as his pompous attitude. He probably couldn't charm his way out of a wet paper bag. With a boiling irritation and the urge to correct the idiot, she offers a false smile and dusts off her skirt. "I'll keep that in mind, thank you." The woman offers gently with all manner of manners she can muster, the fumes be damned else she blow her cover. This kid wasn't worth that. Not when there were hundreds his age that would easily bite.

A polite wave as the kid leaves, she chews on her tongue and returns to her seat. More flock around her having overheard her little social faux pas, the act working to catch the dumb or the inquisitive but lecherous alike. Silently the woman is all smiles, but in the back of her head she's really enjoying the fact that the proof was in the pudding or in this case the posse. As if rubbing his nose into it with every laugh and passing compliment from his peers. All the while she takes pleasure in seeing him drinking all by his lonesome proving he must be the most fun at parties.

Taking a sip of his drink while his eyes were trailing the amount of people that were falling for her tricks. The woman was flirting, those batting eye lashes, the small brushing on the fore arm. Either they were all interested in the woman sitting before them and they were really that dumb. Maybe there was something more going on that meets the eye. Regardless, he thought that she was trying too hard to get what she wanted. What that something was is beyond him, but there was something strange about her. Taking another sip of his drink, it was none of his business.

It was really strange how the mind worked. She was a beautiful woman yet he felt nothing. There was no one in this bar that gave him that. Maybe that was because everyone was flaunting around her or sitting at another table with someone else. Now that he was seeing his surroundings more clearly, it was like a mating ground for idiots. "Can I get you anything else?" the bartender asks. His eyes look up to meet him. There was a piercing on his lower lip and ear, tiny little silver hoops. Kodo would look around for a moment then look back up. "What food do you sell?" The man behind the counter would smile "As long as it's something simple, anything you want." Kodo would swallow hard, "Uh eggs over easy, toast, bacon?" The man would chuckle "Be right back" as he walked away Kodo could feel heat rising on his cheeks. That was very new, he would take a slow deep breath finding himself staring at the man while he cooked as he took another sip of his drink.

After a few moments the man would come back with a plate full of food. "Saw you pass up that lovely lady over there. Is there a reason for it?" Kodo would look back to the pink haired woman that was still surrounded, their eyes meeting for a second before Kodo would turn and find the guy taking a drink of his glass. "Uh, not really, maybe" his words were all kinds of jumbled right now.

Clapping her hands together producing clouds of dust, the red head huffs upward to blow a strand of her bangs out of her eyes. "I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Welcome to the club." Waving her hand in front of her face to clear the smell and help save her senses. "It work don't it, or rather will. Probably." Celeste remarks with a shrug, lifting an end table over her head finding the company made this a little less obnoxious. "If you got any other ideas..." she expresses as she heaves the next piece of furniture over the wall, that slams into the grass and explodes into wooden shrapnel leaving bits and pieces in a crumpled pile. "I'm all ears, anything to get the hell out of this mess. My leather is sticking to my ass crack. Not in a good way." Meandering and digging through the building as Mari makes her final elaboration, the woman stops and looks sideways at Mari. The light comes on in a way that is plastered across her face. Snapping her finger and pointing square at Mari. "No shit.... Frankly I don't even know." Her eyes become a wash with azure blue and with a vortex of azure flame her weapon manifests in her right hand. "You uh fireproof?" Celeste asks, but figures yanno its probably fine. Most the time her flames don't burn players aka her allies.

Most

A singular wide sweep sees the room catch flame in an odd color flame and to her surprise Mari would appear utterly unfazed even welcome within them. "Name's Celeste. What's yours?" She remarks folding her arms and leaning against the wall as she'd wait for it all to turn to ash so she can grab a broom and dig through whatever would be left.

The other redhead continued to hoist things over her shoulders; throwing furniture out the window, out the door... what was she looking for? How could she...not know?  "Mmm.....If you don't know what you're looking for then..." Mari taped her lips, wondering if she would sound like a bitch for saying what she thought, then deciding, fuck it - she didn't care.

"How the hell are you supposed to know when you find it? Are you sure whoever got you to do this isn't just trying to give you busy work?"

"You uh fireproof?"

"Sure am." Mari said with a snort and a laugh, and just for good measure, she threw in - "Kinda gotta be, for the relations I have."

Mari expected to aid in the flames to ravage the place, a snap of thumb against forefinger ignited a small flame to dance in her palm and a flick of her wrist would have it travel up and over her shoulders, to her other palm. Slowly...Slowly Mari was learning how to control it better. She didn't have the control, nor the intensity of her partner - but it was getting better.  It seemed her show was for naught - as the other woman's own flames engulfed the area.

Burning a vivid and bright blue that caused Mari to clench her fists and extinguish her own flame, it wasn't needed. "Whoa..." What was the word for it? "Fuck me...." Mari muttered. reaching out to let the azure flames lick between her fingers. It was stunning. Mari welcomed the heat from the flames. Closing her eyes and inhaling deep the smell of burning smoke.

It wasn't till the other spoke up again, introducing herself that Mari had to open her eyes, blinking. "Oh....Celeste." Mari offered the woman a smile. "Mari, I'm Mari."

Mari gestured to the pyre around her, "This...I have to ask...how did you make it blue? Is it a mix of copper sulfate?" A few steps closer to Celeste as Mari exuberantly grabbed the other womans hands, thumbs running over Celestes palms. "A skill? An item? You gotta tell me, the colour suits. Contrasts with you so well."

The obnoxious tone the guy took left Lancaster's temper far more on blast then usual. It was one that was shared by others in his little troupe of wild cards that were borderline insane. "I wish she gutted you." He offered without an ounce of tact on his tone as his hand is forcibly shook, and Lancaster considers just setting the fucker on fire and being done with it. But it would do nothing more then call the hounds of Laughing Coffin even closer to his sanctuary, and until the moment arose he'd pin that thought. "You keep my wifes name out of your mouth, Vex. This is your only warning. You stay the hell away from her, you and Tybalt both." There was an itch there knowing that Mari had told him her time on floor 10 had left her a little weaker to mind games, and her history accented that as a fact. The potential for someone like Vex making a mess of things was higher then it should be. "If you want to be a good boy, keep these guards off my back. Got it....amico?"

the taste of sarcasm was thick enough to cut. But for some damn reason the NPC were dense, and sporadic. Lancaster couldn't help but wonder if half the reason was because Vex was here causing them to go on high alert. Ripping his hand free, the man sparks a sphere of flame and heaves it into the nearest building. Out comes screaming NPC stumbling down rough stairs in shrill shrieks. They collapse and tumble down as the building is quickly engulfed with a snap of the mans fingers. An unsteady alliance held with one of LC's goons not even close to under his subset, Lancaster heads inside as a way to escape the loon.

I laughed slapping Lancaster on the back, a little friendly pat. "Oh! you do~" I clasped my hands together, barely able to contain my glee. So he wanted her to give in to those oh so alluring primal instincts of hers? "She was so close! so- so close! But you  stopped her!" I said as I clapped my hands together in tiny little plaps. "What did she say, what did she say?" I asked in mock thought. "Something about not wanting to get involved in another fingers business, hmmmm~? You Sure She shouldn't just join us? She already follows the rules~ Wouldn't that make it easier for you, no? Mi Ameekohh."

He was mad, oooh he was MAD mad.  I didn't think it'd be such a sore spot for him. "She said something similar too...how I should stay away from you. My My...two peas in a pod huh?"   Lancaster told me to keep his sweet little flames name out of my mouth and I mimed a zip, and a lock, acting as though I were locking up my mouth and passing him the key with a wink.

"I will try! But..." How could I? She was so tempting, so tantalizing, so easy to push her buttons. "The boss likes her - what she can do - perhaps, if you were here again - you could ask him yourself."

"If you want to be a good boy, keep these guards off my back. Got it....amico?"

I stood to attention and offered Lancaster a sharp salute! "Yessir~" Spoken in a sing song voice. I followed the man into the burning building, stamping on a guards burning body. I pulled my dagger and turned - jamming it into a guard who tried to follow.  "No No~" I sang into his ear- turning and having him attack his comrades.

I wasn't sure what the former finger was doing here. Frankly, I barely knew why I was here.... but hey, he asked me to help. So I would, may as well stay in good graces with him.. I whistled to myself as I worked. Following behind the man at a distance, taking care of the guards one by one as so they would not disturb him.

This still counted as doing my job after all.

And, I was a very, very good boy.
