His gloved fingers drew furrows in the rocky ground and he pulled himself to his feet and threw himself at the left head of Cerberus. As he stumbled into a run, he gripped his sword in both hands and let out a powerful kiai as the blade bit into the neck of the giant hound. His sword continued to flow through the monstrous neck which was as thick as he was around until it came out the other end. The head fell, leaving a view of red wire mesh where he had cut it off. Both remaining heads of the hound howled in agony and pain while the first head fell into a thousand luminous shards. "One down! Keep it up!" Tyger 0 Posted April 13, 2015 #82 Report Share Posted April 13, 2015 Tyger had taken a beating the first few rounds, and she could feel it all the way down to her bones. By the time Ariel had healed her, another beating was underway. This boss was tough; tougher than anything she'd ever faced, and it was painful. Ridiculously painful. Even if it was only mental, and that if she could calm herself down and remind herself that while it's a death game, it was just a game and she wasn't truly feeling anything, that was hard to do. But, it was the only thing she could do. Nodding in Ariel's direction, she managed a chuckle as she smiled. "Thanks. Let's take these guys down." Tyger growled, watching the head that did the most damage fall limp before exploding into thousands of shards. Tyger's grin of satisfaction was larger than it should have been. Left head down, Tyger charged forward, sword drawn, to start inflicting damage. The center head was snapping at her, but she managed to stay away long enough to slice a quick arc into the hounds neck before falling back. With a soft thud, the left most head dropped to the ground and shattered into several pixels. The, now two headed, hound seemed to pause momentarily as short whimpers seeped from its muzzles. Then, like the snap of a finger, the hounds snapped back to reality. Vicious growls and menacing eyes stared down the party as it homed in on its favorite target, Tyger. Fortunately, the ginger rushed into action first. The bold tank dodged snapping maws, and horrendous scented saliva, as she connected on a forward swipe at the center head's neck. A red crescent glow marked where Tyger had struck the beast. As it howled in pain, Oikawa took advantage of the situation and launched himself towards the center head. Drawing his rapier midway, he artfully dodged an enormous paw swipe from the Mob. Using the now exposed paw as a launching pad, Oikawa flips off the makeshift springboard and somersaults through the air. Landing on top of the center head, he quickly jabs few times before leaping off Cerberus. Calling down to Ariel, he shouts out some words of reassurance. "Almost done with this one! We'll kill this stupid mutt and heal Tyger up in no time. I promise at least that much." "Got it!" she didn't spare Oikawa much attention as her gaze turned towards the other head. It started growling with intense viciousness, suddenly ignoring the blond that attacked its peer and diverting its attention towards Tyger. 'Dammit!' was the only thing that crossed Ariel's mind as she charged towards it hoping to at least buy Tyger some time to recover. Unfortunately the blonde was too late as her friend received another hit from Hell's guard dog. She gritted her teeth, suppressing the urge to lash out at the attacker... instead she changed course and attacked the center head. It wasn't such a great hit but the blonde at least dealt as she slid below it and thrusted her rapier upwards, hitting the mob from underneath the chin. I may have to let Ariel do the attacking so I can heal her up since Baldur won't snap out of his trance and Tyger refuses to put up a defense. Taking a deep sigh, the blonde gritted his teeth and dashed after Ariel. Watching her connect on a nice slide attack, Oikawa jumped into the air and brought his rapier down right on the snout of the center head of the beast. Cerberus reared back in agony. Still fixated on the red head, the creature swiped its enormous paw and sent the defensive tank flying. "Ariel switch! I'll heal her. You finish off the center head mob!" Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted May 7, 2015 #86 Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 Half of their team seemed paralysed....'What the hell is going on here?' the blonde wandered as she switched her gaze from Baldur to Tyger as Oikawa was engaging the middle head. Then she looked at the HP bars, Tyger's was starting to show a red tinge to the remaining half of her bar. Once more Ariel gritted her teeth at the sight of both heads that were appearing to ignoring the rest and concentrate on her, as a result of her initial 'Howl'. She then started running towards the opposite mob, with almost inhuman speed. She showed a angried expression as she came up with a plan to ease the burden off her friend. She wasn't going to let anyone die here, not while she could still draw breath. The 3rd head ignored her mad dash making a easy target for her blade as she didn't even needed to perform any evasive move, .As if her weapon was a massive hammer she released the accumulated momentum at the precise moment with a powerful thrusts, 'slamming' her rapier into her target and releasing into the right head all her rage: "HOOOOO AAAAA" she roared like the authentic 'Lioness' that she was. From behind, Kimba who was spectating all of this started roaring as well, accompanying her in spirit. But her efforts didn't prove to be enough as the head half turned towards her but the common claw went towards Tyger once again, sending her flying. Fighting off the desire to rush at her side once again,a Ariel turned towards Oikawa and shouted: "Finish that one! I'll get this one's attention!" Ariel seemed to feel the same anticipation and rage that he did as she swung into action; landing a beautiful critical hit on the left head. Oikawa heard her yell for him to finish off what is now the right head of the remaining two. Jumping in front of the motionless redhead, the blonde executed a lethal lunge as he sent his rapier beaming for the neck of the hound. Cerberus had other plans however. The titanic mutt swiped once more for the carrot top tank. Oikawa quickly pushed the girl to the ground. Keeping her out of harm's way. He then turned on his heel and immediately lunged for the neck once more. As he sank his blade deep into the Center head's neck, the dog howled and stomped as the head began to de-crystallize. Causing it to fade into nothingness. Collecting his material from that head, Oikawa turned to face Ariel and shouted, "Last head! Let's make this quick." Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted May 8, 2015 #88 Report Share Posted May 8, 2015 As expected, Oikawa performed flawlessly and managed to slay the second beast head while protecting their ginger friend. with the extra determination she got from her white furry companion the blonde let out a sigh of relief and once more eyes the last head. The giant body of Hell's guard dog was finally starting to show signs of weakness, they were faint as a misstep while running or slightly heavy breathing but it was there...its time was coming to an end, probably in the next couple of strikes.. "Nice, Oikawa!" she said while making a 'thumbs up' gesture. "Now lets finish this 'doggy' once and for all." she added before dashing towards its right side and striking the mob in its middle side of the belly, then with a skillfully executed feint she dodged Cerberus's massive claw. It seems it finally recognized her as a target after that last strike. As Ariel gave him kind praise, she dashed off to attack the remaining thing standing between them and victory. The mutt had finally decided to leave their redheaded friend be, as Ariel landed her strike. The beast retaliated with a swipe at the female blonde, but the strike was to no avail. Once an opening appeared, Oikawa raced passed Ariel. Giving her a thumbs up as he passed, he flicked his glance back toward Cerberus. Just as the dog raised it's paw to meet him midway, the blonde evaded the swipe before streaking forwards and thrusting his rapier right into the underside of the canine. "Ariel finish it. This mutt has met it's match!" Jumping back, he hoped he had left enough of an opening for the "Lioness" to capitalize on the execution. More so because she was going to be the one to end it! in the past.. in a certain swamp to be precise, she had left the last hit to others and didn't regret the decision. But now she was about to experience once again the slaying of a powerful foe. She could feel her blood boiling with excitement as she ran passed the leaping blond. "Leave it to me!" she said while carefully searching for a proper place on where to land her finishing strike. The red, almost depleted, HP bar shone in the corner of her vision dyeing her natural silver eyes into a crimson color. The Cerberus just didn't want to give up and eyeing the blonde it started moving towards her with high velocity. Before the two could clash the mob tried to catch Ariel between his front paws, in an attempt to squish her. But it was already too late, the blonde kicked the ground and while performing an aerial arc she thrusted her black rapier directly into the back of the last head. As she landed gracefully with her back towards the mob, its whole body winched and exploded into millions of polygons, bathing the girl into a multicolored rain. The silver eyed blonde then turned around and made a slight bow towards the rest and started to walk towards them. "After checking that everybody was OK, she let out a sigh of relief. There would normally follow a talk about the combat and loot distribution...but the blonde intervened before people started the topic saying: "How about we get back to my place and have some Ice Cream?" As Ariel bathed in the crystals that seemed to disappear into thin air, Oikawa walked to his comrades and congratulated and thanked them. He was relieved that they had survived the ordeal. That was a long battle. But we're finally done! I'm really proud of these guys and gals. "Thank you Baldur and Tyger for heading and tanking. Thank you Alyss and Ariel for providing the damage output we needed to not only wrap up ole' Cerberus here, but all the little hounds before him. We made a great team here and we did exceptionally well." Everyone celebrated and embraced one another. All of them excited that the quest was finally completed. Ariel raised an interesting proposal. She asked if they all wanted to meet up at her place for ice cream. Nobody opposed the idea. "Lets get going then!" As the group exited the cave, Oikawa looked back one last time before following the group back to the main settlement. I wonder what our next adventure will be?
