Baldur 0 Posted February 28, 2015 Author #21 Report Share Posted February 28, 2015 Baldur couldn't help but laugh as Oikawa skidded up to him and gave him a thumbs up, and then complained when the heat took its toll on him. Then Ariel went charging past them, eager to not get left behind and leave her mark on a hell hound of her own. She was almost as feisty as Tyger was, but then... well... Baldur doubted that anyone else could be quite that. Flashing a grin at Oikawa, Baldur set the back of his blade on his shoulder and <<Charged>> after Ariel, swinging his sword down into <<Hell Hound #4>>. They would need to defeat quite a few of these. He had heard that sometimes several parties of players would come through here closer together and only have to defeat a handful, but it looks like they came in at just the right time and had the cave to themselves. As his luminous sword sliced down through the <<Hell Hound>> Baldur couldn't help but grin at his luck, watching his HP bar tick up. If they kept this kind of momentum, then things would be going even better than he had planned. But luck could be with them, or it could be against them, and it could change in a heart-beat. "Let's keep it up, but don't get careless!" Baldur couldn't help but recall a time when people were falling all over themselves off of bridges and into swamps. Such an exercise here would be far more deadly. Holding her sword out in front of her, Tyger watched as the third hound fell and a fourth took it's place. She gritted her teeth, feeling the burn from the cavern. How many dogs did they have to kill for this stupid Cerberus to show itself? Her contributions could only help serve this goal, so Tyger charged forward, following Baldur, until she sliced a decent chunk out of the fourth hound. My Kingdom for a last hit... She groaned inwardly, watching the HP fall until almost 0. Oh well, whoever managed to hit next would finish this particular dog. The tank's curse, no doubt. Ariel wasted no time in taking 25% of the Mob's health with her blow. Tyger and Baldur combined for a dazzling 60% percent of the Mob's health. This left Oikawa with the remaining 5 HP to dispatch of. "These hounds have nothing on us. With Tyger's superb tanking and everyone landing their attacks, we should find Cerberus in no time!" Racing past the lovebirds, Oikawa sent his rapier right through the hound's snout. The mob exploded into several polygons and left behind a loot orb. Grasping it, he checked the contents before adding the loot to his inventory. "What's that four in a row now?" She looked at Alyss but she appeared to be distracted so Ariel went again and attacked the hound. "Guess I'm the spotter, huh?" As she dashed towards the mob, lava started dripped from the ceiling and Ariel noticed it after the first drop that hit her left shoulder pad. She then looked up and managed to evade the rest but the first one managed to scrape her left cheek. After striking the mob and backing off she shouted: "Keep an eye on the ceiling in case lava starts pouring on us." He just hoped no one got too cocky. Glancing back the way they came, he could only just barely make out the entrance to the cave. Each time they fought another <<Hell Hound>> they got a little further in. He doubted they would be able to get in and get out without having to fight the respawns after they had finished the main boss. He turned towards the newest hound, and he crouched down into his <<charge>> position and launched himself at the beast of fire and brimstone. They cyan light which enveloped his blade sliced cleanly down the flank of the left flank of the mob and he kicked up dirt and lava as he skidded to a stop behind it. "Next!" Baldur called, waiting for Tyger to take her shot at the mob as well. They seemed to be coming in a never-ending stream, and always when Tyger wasn't capable of finishing them off. Just her luck. My kingdom for a last hit, man, i'm telling you! She growled in her mind, charging up her attack. Rocketing forward in a straight charge after Baldur, she pierced the hound's flesh with her blade. She wondered if they'd make a name for themselves darting back and forth through the caverns, back to back, skewering these hellish hounds. "One more hit! You've got this!" She called out, breathlessly. Oikawa's group mates all connected on damage aside from Alyss. Which didn't affect the team's performance. Lunging forward, Oikawa whirled his rapier around in his palm before calmly sending the tip of it into the Mob's distracted heart. The creature yelped loudly before dissolving into pixels and leaving behind a loot orb. Collecting his loot Oikawa kept an eye out for the next one. She went running towards it as she did the last time but now she became careless while running. Stepping on a loose rock she ended up having a pretty hot intimate meeting with the floor, resulting in her gaining a nasty burn from the elbow to the wrist of her left forearm. While releasing a few unlady-like words she gestured Alyss to attack the mob, now she was pissed, real pissed. She did see Ariel signal her as she was on her way back, Alyss then moved in to swing her blade at the dog and did cut it up the side, but the wound ended up sprewing some lava on her from its warm blood as she did get a few burn marks on her hand, as she did move back she signaled Baldur to go in for his attack. They were at the point now that he couldn't see where the entrance was. It could have been his imagination, but it felt like the heat was getting worse this far in. Thankfully, Baldur saw his Battle-healing tick his health bar up one more point into the good. "Keep it up!" He called out to the others as he <<Charged>> their next mob. His slash was clean, but not as solid as he had hoped. Being so quick, they were able to alpha strike the Hell Hound and kill it before it really had a chance to form a counter-attack. If they could keep this up, it would be smooth sailing. Unfortunately, Cerberus would not be so easy. Since it had three heads, it would attack three times. Hopefully Tyger would be able to tank it all, but that's what really concerned him. After that, they could fight their way out and begin the long hike home back to the main settlement on this floor. Shivering at the thought of the city suspended by cables over a volcano that would kill any player who fell into it, Baldur watched as his strike tore off a third of the mob's HP. Maybe if I had hit it harder, Tyger could get the last hit for once. Baldur had always made a big deal of it when he got a kill as a tank, taunting his DPS for being lazy. Tyger followed and did the same, taking off a decent chunk from the creature. However, it always eluded her. That last hit. Oh well! Tanks gave up that luxury, and she needed to be focused on what was to come. She'd need to focus all her energy on keeping the heads of Cerberus (in mythology he had 3, Tyger assumed this would carry into the game) engaged with her instead of the team. It'd be good practice for the floor boss, whether it's the 10th or 11th. The mob tried to hit Tyger but meet the resistance of her shield. 'At this rate I won't get to stab this censored ' she thought while grinding her teeth. next was Oikawa's turn but as soon as Tyger landed the hit, the blond knew she won't have another chance to take make up for her fail. So she dashed past Oikawa with full speed, muttering a hasty "Sorry!" as she went for the hound. "Payback time!" she shouted as she landed a successful hit in the back of the beast. Picking up the modest loot it left behind she tossed it towards Baldur saying: "Next!". She didn't noticed that in the process she'd lost another 1 hp. Alyss 0 Posted March 7, 2015 #34 Report Share Posted March 7, 2015 Alyss did see Ariel finish off the hound, and just like the other times another one did spawn almost faster then she could move back from the spot, as Alyss did spin around her cutlass in her hand and rush towards it to slice it, on her way there she did not notice the ceiling had started dripping again, as a few drops of lava did hit her shoulder, but she did not notice it before on her way back from hitting the hound. Then he leaned over had kissed her on the cheek, "Looks like I'm up. I needed to steal a kiss for good luck." Crouching down, he activated his <<Charge>> skill and held the blade horizontal and next to head head with the blade pointed up and his wrists crossed, and then was literally gone in a blue and white flash. As the charred and burning <<Hell Hound>> neared Baldur, or rather as he neared it, he suddenly began to spin in the air and katana ripped open the side of the hound's face, revealing a huge gash of red wired mesh from it's 3D model. it wasn't enough to kill the creature, but he dealt almost half of its total health in a single blow, and it turned the mob to face him. Rather than retreating, Baldur held his ground. "Come on! Finish this thing off!" It snapped at him, but Baldur kept it at bay with his sword. "Bad dog!" Tyger whistled through her teeth and smiled, following suit. Atlthough she didn't hit him as hard as Baldur did, there was still a noticeable amount of damage on the hound. Tyger flashed him her own cocky smile and then looked over to Oikawa and Ariel, curious who would hit the hound next. Ariel had been on a roll recently, but that didn't mean Oikawa was just going to let her get all these hits. Whoever hit next got the last hit, but with their turn order that'd become rather commonplace. "How many more of these?" Tyger expected a large, angry three headed dog any minute. He had to have zoned out for quite a bit as a nother hell hound had spawned and was close to dying. Checking to make sure it was clear, Oikawa ran towards the Mob. he swiftly lodged his blade in the creatures maw before removing just as quickly. Grabbing the loot, Oikawa turned to see where the next one would come from. "There seems to be so many of them sadly. They are just a pa--ack!" Another drop of lava seeped its way to Oikawa. "I hate this stupid floor." While running she answers Tyger's question while keeping her eyes on the mob. "I don't know Taiga but I'm starting to feel like we're working as precise as a Swiss watch. I've already accepted my position as the vanguard or better said point taker o the group." As she reached the dog she thruster her rapier with one elegant motion hitting it right in its right front leg, then backing off so that the others can attack. Baldur 0 Posted March 11, 2015 Author #39 Report Share Posted March 11, 2015 In a streak of blue light, Baldur was on the other side of the room, his katana coming down through the <<Hell Hound>> as his boots dug into the charred, blackened rock floor, leaving gouges in the ground which bled red molten rock. As soon as he came to a stop, he jumped up and down on either foot, but somehow managed to avoid taking any damage from the heat this round. It must be countered by my Battle-Healing. Grinning over at Ariel, Baldur waved on Tyger "Sorry babe! I tried! Maybe you'll get the next one! But just think of all the XP and fat loots we're getting down here?" If this had been the real world, Baldur would have been drenched in sweat right now. It brought back to mind all those summers back in the South when he was practicing Iai in the dojo, with only the doors open to try and help cut the temperature, but no breeze would find him inside. "I hated those days." Baldur muttered to himself.. Tyger 0 Posted March 12, 2015 #40 Report Share Posted March 12, 2015 There was no stinging pain from the heat this round, so Tyger figured either her Battle Healing had kicked in, or she was currently safe from the stinging heat. He dry heat still bit at her face though, and made her eyes squint whenever a new gust of hot air graced her presence. Yuck. "Yeah yeah... I've given up on these last hits." Tyger chuckled at Baldur, trying to keep her mood light. "Icarus and I see through you!" Sticking her tongue out at her boyfriend, she charged the newest hound, slicing straight into it's hide. She watched with hope as the HP fell, but stopped at the end. Of course. Well, at least they were getting some loot by the end of this, given all these damn dogs...
