[OP-F2] Hunting for Ore

The spider easily dodged Atlus' attack, and bit him on the side "Gah!" Atlus grabbed his side. Atlus took a step back, and prepped himself for another attack.

Before any more spiders could get an attack off, Darius used 'Howl' in the form of a hate-filled roar to try to aggro the spiders to him. After he used the ability he prepped for the imminent attack. He had taken a large chance by doing this. He hoped the rest were smart enough to attack the spiders as soon as their attention was diverted and not after they had mobbed him. His face twisted into a rage-filled mask as he raised his shield and readied his sword.

[1-7]- 'Howl' attracts the spiders' attention. If not stopped near immediately, they would attack Darius.

[8-10]- 'Howl' fails and does not attract the spiders' attention.

Darius' 'Howl' failed to draw off any of the already-in-combat enemies. It did however pull over the idle and 6th spider, along with riling up the 5th spider that was already heading towards him at a quick pace, its legs eating up the distance. He growled, failing to prove exceptionally useful to the party. He would have to make quick work of these two arachnid freaks and help out the rest.

The 5th spider was a decent distance ahead of the 6th. It would give Darius enough time to get a good hit in. As if in answer, the spider coiled its legs and launched at Darius' torso. Darius would hold his shield out to try to intercept the spider and stop it in its tracks, also prepping his sword to stab past the side of the shield into the spider if he were successful with his block.

[2,4,6,7]- Darius fails to stop the spider in its propulsion and it hits his shield hard, pushing him to the ground with it, opening him up to further attack.

[1,5,8]- Darius stops the spider but doesn't get the chance to stab it before it pushes off his shield, escaping his reach.

[3, 9]- Darius stops the spider and stabs it through its abdomen before it pushes off his shield, escaping his reach. (Normal hit- 1 dmg)

[10]- Darius stops the spider and stabs it. The spider then starts to fall off the shield, the sword and gravity causing it to take more damage. (Crit hit- 2 dmg)

Atlus swung his blade towards the spider that had bit his arm "Get ready to die ya stupid bug!".

Keith set his blade on his shoulder and got in his slashing stance. "I always hated spiders... Eat this!" He let out a slash at three of the spiders. He gave them all a solid attack, only hurting one and dealing less damage as his blade ran through each of the three.

The spider slid to the other direction, and lunged at Atlus again dealing more damage. 'Geez these things are fast, totally different than what im used to.' Atlus gripped his blade firmly with both hands, ready for the spiders next attack.

Spider5 leaped at Haine dangerously. Her eyes narrowed as she moved out of the way swiftly, luckily managing to keep her balance.

"I'm gonna bring you down!" Haine shouted as she slashed her sword at the spider who had just attacked her.

[1-3] The spider knocks Haine down, making her vulnerable for an attack.

{4-5] The spider moves out of the way, and attacks. 1 HP is lost.

[6-8] Haine attacks the spider successfully, spider loses 1 HP.

[9-10] Critical damage, Haine successfully hits the spider, it loses 2 HP.

Spider4 lunged at Atlus, who quickly prepared a parry.

As was pushed to the ground by the weight and the momentum of the spider, he roared out. Not only did he fail to be useful to the party, but was now useful to himself. Spider 5 was battering his shield uselessly, trying to get around it to him, but it proved futile. In retaliation, Darius attempted to push his shield up with his superior strength, the spider with it, to get enough room to stab the spider.

Meanwhile, Spider 6 closes in to attack Darius' torso.

[1,5]- Darius cannot push the spider up; seeming like a useless human being as all he has done so far is fail.

[2,3,4,6,7,8]- Darius pushes the spider up with his shield and stabs it, it reeling away from the blow, losing 1 HP.

[9,10]- Darius pushes the spider up with his shield and stabs it, the spider lunging down at him at the same time, making it deal double damage; the spider losing 2 HP.

[Guest]

Keith gripped his sword as four spiders surrounded him. "You guys just don't give up, do you?" Keith spun his sword along with his body, hitting the spiders around him. The four spiders popped into blue crystals and Keith redied his sword to kill the next two. "How're you guys holding up?" He shouted to his allys.

The spider(4) Flew onto its back, and Atlus performed a vertical slice on the spiders thorax doing a good sum of damage. "Thatll show ya!" Atlus shouted 'If it keeps using the same move on me this is going to be a breeze.' The spider hopped up, and got ready to attack again.

After impaling the spider with his sword it hissed at him. He hissed back, savagely, before smashing it in the face with his buckler to where it scurried to rally with its last comrade alive. All in all, it had taken three damage.

Darius stood, his face smeared with rage. It was now a 5 v 2; plus they had that guy who wrecked the spiders in two attacks. That was strong. The strong he wanted to be. He glanced at Keith once, recognizing him for what he was and noting him as respectful before turning to the remaining two spiders. "Kill them," he said harshly.

Daeron looked at the group. He felt as if he had done nothing. By instinct, he ran in towards the spiders, putting his sword away and pulled out a dagger instead. He ran in to finish them off now. If he fails now, then he would look weak.

[1,3,7] - Daeron successfully kills one of the spiders, but the other jumped on his back biting his neck.

[2,4,8,9]- Daeron fails to kill both spiders and instead they both bite his arms.

[5,6,10] - Daeron kills both of the spiders with expertise skill.

Atlus pointed at Spider5 "Prepare to meet your maker Spider5!" Atlus readied a vertical slice, aiming at the spiders thorax.

Running towards the spiders one of them jumps at him. Quick enough to react, he slides on his side while cutting the spider in half from the bottom, killing it. After he finishes, he jumps back up and stabs the other spider before it could jump away. He then stands up and looks at the group with a corpse shattering behind him into nothing. Shall we continue? he had a huge grin on his face. He was glad he succeeded with people watching him.

Seeing that the battle was over, he exhaled heatedly, his aggression and rage going with it. He turned to trudge on, the aftermath of adrenaline making his hands shake. He readopted his neutral expression as he spoke. "Now that the battle is over, it shouldn't be too far until we get to the cave." Darius turned and trudged on. While walking he looked at his buckler, noticing how it was dented in various places, scratched, and cracking at the edges. He would need a new shield soon, or to repair this one.

Atlus sheathed his blade, laying his hand over the hilt again. "We showed those Spiders whos boss!" Atlus said. He pounded his chest with his fist. "Now lets get moving!" He shouted with a grin.

"I hate spiders..." Keith groaned. Sheathing his sword and following the others. "I swear to god, if we see any more spiders I'm leaving. I can't stand the creepy crawlies."

[Daeron 1]

Daeron looked at Keith and laughed. For a tough fighter, you sure are a wuss he told him while holding a tiny spider in his hand near Keith's face to tease him.

"Haha!" Atlus slapped Kieth on the back "So the heavy hitters scared of a few little bugs eh?" Atlus pounded on his chest once again "A true man fears nothing! Not even creepy crawlies!" He boasted.
