Hello people of SAO. As you can see I am Zelrius, and for a little context on this event here's some information: My birthday is coming up (The 8th of October) and saw as a the perfect opportunity to host a nice little event for everyone. As Such, I am hosting a Ballroom Dance party. It will be formal, Make sure your character is dressed for the Occasion. The Event will take place on the Second Floor, upon the Fields of High Crossing. If you're interested in particpating, Please message me (And if you're bringing a Date or someone to dance with, add their name to the message) and I will write you on the Guest list. After I have confirmed your participation, You're free to post in the Thread when it is created.

Once the thread is up, all of those who signed up will be allowed to make their post presenting themselves and the equipment they'll be bringing in with them. Once 28 hours have passed, no other player will be allowed to join unless of special circumstances and the player had spoken to staff about not being to post within the 28 hours.

As you carry on you normal day in SAO's blissful recreation of the season, you find a mysterious envelope nudged away in your inventory. Out of curiosity, you remove the item to inspect it closer. In your hands now lies a solid black envelope, which bears no marks or name. It's contents, sealed away with a purple wax seal. The stamp bearing a capital 'V' and 'R'. As you open the envelope, orange paper fills the void. You begin to read.

It is a great pleasure knowing that you have chosen to read this invitation. The guild, known to everyone as, 'The Velvet Room' cordially invites you to it's first ever, Halloween Party. It is with great delight to let you know that there will be games, frights, costumes, and prizes. We of The Velvet Room, do wish to see you there. Just a few formal things to take care of first. The date that the thread will start on is, OCTOBER 21st. Those who plan on attending, please send me(Lowenthal) a private message on SAO saying that you will be attending. I do expect those who attend, do post. To enforce this rule, those who say they are coming and do not post on October 21st, or October 22nd will be counted as 'not attending' and will no longer be allowed to post in the party thread. Those who joined, and do not post within 48 hours of their last RP interaction, will be counted as if they got bored and left and will no longer be allowed to post. 
~Contests~
The Velvet Room will be hosting two contests for this Halloween Party.
RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE!
1. The Costume Contest!
Time to bring out the best costume you can manage for your character. This contest will require an actual picture, of your character in his or her costume. However, rules follow.
-No Repeats: You cannot have the same costume as someone else. And it will be first come first served. However, if someone is a 'were-wolf' and you want to be a 'were-wolf' you can! Just not the same picture, of course.
-No 'just imagine': This is a picture contest of your character in a Halloween costume. So, don't submit a picture of someone who is not your character with a tag saying 'Just imagine my FC's face on it' It will be ignored, and not counted for the running of the contest.


2. The 'Ghost Story' Contest!
Time to show SAO that the pen is indeed mightier then the sword! Spook the judges with the best story you have to share!
-No copies: Please, do not plagerise another authors work and submit it. If you are at fault of this rule, you will not be allowed to enjoy the party, and will be removed from the running. No matter how good it was.
-No 'shortest stories': Please, do not submit stories like 'Last man on earth, hears a knock on his door.' These will be ignored, and not counted in the contest.


~What We're Looking For~
What we, the Velvet Room are looking for, above all else is. Creativity. Please be original, and creative in your own unique way. Not everyone has photoshop skills, and not everyone is a world class writer. But do not let those things damper your Halloween spirit!  Instead, embrace it and strive to be your best!
