[PP-PT-F01] The Cool Off Period | <<The First Lessons>>
Wulfrin replied to Wulfrin's topic in Beginner Floors
"That would be my plan yes," Wulfrin affirmed Astra's question about what location they would be fishing at. "Been watching the plaza for Dorian to make his usual appearance, but so far no sign of him." Wulfrin took another sip of his morning tea as a blur of movement caught his eyes. A player was steadying the poor NPC server gal that regularly tripped and spilt her tray of drinks. Wulfrin had all the routines down mentally as if the Town of Beginnings was his own personal Groundhog Day, so anything out of the norm tended to catch his gaze. Wulfrin's gaze befell the player as they froze - Today

"Oh, wow! So that's really fascinating!" Reytac's head rocked back. He hadn't even considered that as something that full-dive gear could do, help someone who was blind 'see', but it made sense. The gear was interfacing directly with the brain, slipping past the normal senses. "I bet that was also a big adjustment, having to get used to seeing things and knowing what you were looking at." Idly, he wondered if anyone else had had the same thing happen with a different sense - getting a sense of taste, or smell, maybe? The brunette gave his head a tiny shake to throw off the off-tangent thoughts

{PP-F08 "Monkey King"} Great Ape Showdown
Scarlet Firefly replied to Reytac's topic in Beginner Floors
It was a relief to hear that Myst wasn't being much of a problem. While she loved her pet, sometimes this little fuzz with four legs would get herself in too much trouble for her size. "I haven't personally owned a pet until Myst here. I'm sure its much more difficult in real life." Firefly chuckled slightly and gave her cat a pet before turning back to her food. Myst would just rest quietly in the seat between them, curling up into a ball of fur. In an effort to avoid getting into an apology contest with herself, Firefly waved off the comments about her screen jump-scare. No reason to li -

Continuing through the forest. The farther they went, the thicker the wood grew. The mountains drew nearer, she knew this part of the forest well. She had learned to stay clear of it. Knowing beasts lay in wait if they drew too close. With each step her curiosity grew. The deeper he decided to tread the more intrigued she became. She kept forward eager to understand the test she had been bestowed. She'd recognized it father back, the sensation made her tingle, at least thats what she had imagined. The avatar could only imitate so much. Vanta took it all in. The feel of the air, the way th

As his footfalls carried him, a sideward glance to his HUD showed the green circle move and trail behind him. <<Detection>> at its finest, leaving nearly none that could actually pass by the wanderer unnoticed. The lenses on his face gleamed with every streak of light that broke through the canopy overhead, as his focus remained ever forward. The man noticed no hesitation however, his gift left unclaimed but it was paltry in comparison to the meaning behind it. Down deeper into the thicker masses of the forest that line the larger mountains, where most players feared to tread. Wher

The wind blew offering a rustle amongst the trees. It either aided her or gave her away. She stopped and looked back at the wanderer. Her eyes followed his every move, each step, each seemimg breath taken as he strolled. It was as she expected, he was more powerful than most on the floor. The wave of his hand hadn't gotten away from her. She recognized it as an initiation of sorts. Most likely a skill he'd aquired. Eventually she realized it pointless to flee. Better to stay put and stay quiet. So that she did. The longer she watched the more apparent it became to her that he was aware of her,

The rustle in the wood, the small green dot that perched itself on his minimap having been discovered by detection like all the others. It mirrored its companions in color, but the one distinguishing mark upon it was its distance. Far removed from the others, found solace within its solitude surrounded by cardinal creations in a stark blue. Raidou would reach for his brow and remove a pair of lenses, wiping them with a clump of fabric from his robe to give them a polish. A gesture to allow his thoughts to gather and the ones that mattered to bubble to the surface. There was always those that d

The forest was a place of wonder, it held life and death, creatures of all shapes and sizes knew it as home. The serene atmosphere drew her near. Careless whispers flew through the wind grazing Vanta. She loved it here, she could think, all was at peace. Thousands of trees to climb, roads and pathways to map, streams of cool water that lay to rest beautiful stones that shimmer under sunlight. This was life. At least the best of it she could live in this world. Senses imitated but not the same. The wind, the sun, the little ladybug that landed on her finger; none of it was real. The food she at

The emerald fields of stone valley were just as fresh as the nomad remembered. Spanning about as far and wide as a players vision. Dotting the left a smattering of trees in a dim blueish and green hue, topped upon spires of darker wood and riddled with moss. Just beyond, a range of mountains that peaked slightly over that wood casting a silhouette of shade across that under its umbrella. The fields were ripe with activity, as players in formed parties rushed off and flashed blades to the promise of easy to acquire loot. Given the lack of difficulty these fields were flush with faces, chatterin

[PP-PT-F08] Grin and Bear It | <<SotW: Kumatetsu>>
Astra replied to Astra's topic in Beginner Floors
Wulfrin had confirmed what Astra had seen, the flames were emanating from him and not just his blade. Likening it to the way the shadows clung to him made sense, and Astra was able to pick up on it once it was pointed out. For all the time they spent with one another, Astra still couldn't help but feel that there was an air of mystery that hung about Wulfrin. Though, it could be supposed that it would be that way for a lot of the players trapped in Aincrad. The floating castle was changing people daily, and even if it could be surmounted to Cardinal's actions, there was a lot that remained une -
"-he was- is a good man." Was... The faux pas was there...it tugged at chords otherwise left alone within her heart. It had been a fear of hers - and she - with her orange cursor couldn't easily check the monument. "It feels like that...huh?" Mari asked Jomei quietly. It felt like Oikawa had died. After all, death meant the departure of those you once knew, it was final. And - this felt very final. "You know...he told me he was going away for a while, but refused to tell me where, or if he'd ever come back. when I asked...he just didn't answer." It hurt. It hurt knowing how he confess

[PP-PT-F01] The Cool Off Period | <<The First Lessons>>
Astra replied to Wulfrin's topic in Beginner Floors
Recently Astra's life had been a bit hectic, considering that he'd been undergoing intense training to level up and acquire skills, participated in raid-wide events on Floor 29, and continuously found new ways to acquire scrapes and bruises. All that to say, a day of rest never hurt. The real problem Astra faced was how he would occupy his day of rest, which was something he often struggled with when he wasn't in motion. Perhaps it was ADHD, perhaps he felt as though he couldn't ever really rest, but besides eating a metric ton of food and doing some reading, he had nothing. That was, until, a -
