  1. Poor kid, she seems stressed as all get out. Reytac gave the offered hand a brief shake before turning away to toss her the party invite. It took only a few moments to send it to her, and then he clapped his hands together as she asked what the next step was. He gave her an easy smile as his eyes started roving across the area around them, before he picked a direction almost at random to start walking in. Only almost, random, as in the distance he had seen the shape of birds moving in the distance, and he knew that he, at least, was interested in an avian companion. “Well, Miss Cascade, th
  2. Reytac blinked a couple times, the words on the quest screen dancing in front of him. Something was bothering him about the quest, but for the life of him he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Like a cut on the inside of his mouth that he couldn't stop worrying on, it was sitting there, just below active thought and pestering. He shoved that vague concern away, since all it was doing right now was slowing him down and distracting him. The brunette turned to look at Teion, only for his head to swim slightly as it felt like he went through a pressure drop, making him woozy for a moment. It pas
  3. Reytac picked up one of the rocks that he'd spotted that looked like it had something useful contained inside of it. He clamped it down in his fice and started tightening it, so that he could take one of the other tools to it and see what was inside - only to frown, sharply, when the vise, on only the second or third turn, went straight through the rock, crumpling it to gravel that fell down to the ground beneath the table. He rubbed one hand over his face with a frustrated sigh. That had been a material, but his lack of skill was killing him here. And his mats. Still, the only pa
  4. Reytac followed the purple-haired woman into the bar, and let out a soft sigh of relief as he pushed his rain-slick hair back from his face again, and this time it wasn't immediately shoved back down by the constant drizzle. It wasn't like it was a solid downpour, but the storm never let up out there, even for a moment. It was like they were in one of those old noir films about a stormy city, but instead of a neon abyss their environment was ore along the lines of oversized fishing town. He shook his head side to side, scattering water from his hair and face, then gave an irritated scowl when
  5. Reytac waved one hand in front of his face, trying to clear the thick, choking dust that was hanging around him away. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted motion, and at first he thought he'd seen a rat or something, or a moth. He knew he was alone in the jailhouse, after all. So when he turned to look at it, and started hearing the faint sound of sobs - his skin got covered in goosebumps, and all the hair on his neck stood up sharply. Because drifting closer was something that was definitely not some kind of animal, or insect - it was a shorter figure, yes, but still human. If humans were
  6. "Again, I am sorry about that, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going - I didn't expect to see anyone else here." Other than distant shapes in the storm clouds or fog off in the distance, Reytac hadn't seen another person since he arrived on this floor. He was honestly surprised to have run into someone else here - and embarrassed to have literally run into her. He didn't take offense to the way her eyes flicked up when she ran into him - it was a good precaution, and especially this high up was probably a healthy one to take. He did the same, a small bit of tension easing from his sho
  7. There it was again, that odd tension in the air when the green-haired woman handed the new arrival her own bowl of Familiar Food. It was almost like the air was filled with ozone, a lightning strike about to happen - but there was nothing, just the Tamer going back to busying herself with things and ignoring the two Players. Reytac rubbed the back of his head and gave a slight shrug before turning his attention to the new person, raising one hand in greeting. "Howdy there miss, nice ta meetcha. Name's Reytac. You interested in working together for the 'Feeding Your Enemy' quest? I think
  8. Reytac stepped off of the teleport and immediately took in a breath of salt-laden air, and winced. It was clear that something had gone wrong when he'd tried switching floors - he'd been intending to go to the fifth floor, to see if there were any quests there that suited his level. But it was immensely clear that he was not on the fifth floor, not even close. A glance at his tracker had the brunette's jaw drop, and if it could go any lower it might have been hitting his clavicle. Somehow, his mumbled destination had brought him all the way up to the twenty ninth floor. In that moment, staring
  9. Character Relationships: Mari: Reytac knows her, but also knows to keep his distance. Mildly friendly, but reserved. Khione: Reytac knows her, and is friendly, but mildly suspicious about what she does and doesn't know, and what her motivations are. Who she knows doesn't help. Vex: Reytac knows him, and dislikes him. Is highly suspicious of him. But also knows to keep his distance, a very, healthy, distance. Nisa: Reytac knows her, and is curious about her. A little concerned with her lack of care putting her in danger, but also i

  11. Reytac stretched out his shoulders, his joints popping, as he walked down the dirt path that he'd found. He'd heard a rumor that a particular NPC that he'd been trying to find for a while was here - and from the odd structure in the distance, he was fairly certain that the rumor had been true. A frission of relief went through him. He'd wanted a companion for a while, seeing the ones that other players had just ended up filling him with more and more longing as the days went by, and now he'd finally found the key to starting down that path. There was a conservatively dressed, green-haire

  14. Reytac settled back in to his workbench with his tongue clamped between his teeth as he focused. He wanted to see if he could finish off his first solo-spark stone today. The recipe that he was working towards was a different one from his first attempt - rather than trying to make something to combine skills, he wanted to see if he could make the 'force proc' stone. Carefully, he ground away the shell of a particularly heavy nut. The seed oil inside of it didn't do much on its own - but served as an amplifier for other liquids and materials - encapsulating some of the goal he was trying
  15. Reytac pushed his way into the shop, heading for the alchemist section. His muscles burned and his mind was fatigued - focusing on his crafting had burnt him out rather quickly. But he had heard that there was an alchemical potion that could be used to renew his focus and mental fatigue. And supposedly, some was for sale here. "Ho there rhe shop, here to see about buying some Respite, if you have any stock?"
  16. Reytac got started - time waited for no one, and just like leveling, grinding on a profession was something that needed to be done, or it wouldn't get done. No one was going to make these things for him. He pulled a small wooden stool out of his inventory and plopped it in front of his work bench, and began working. It was delicate work, fiddling with rocks, geodes, crystals, and roots. For working with the engineering thing, from what products he had, it was easier to stick to the mineral materials, as opposed to organic ones. He could see a use for them in one of the recipes, bu
  17. Reytac clapped his hands together as he finished hammering the sign into the ground. For now, he was only a short distance away from the outer gate of the major city on the second floor - he'd been tempted to roam, see where he could fit in, but still felt like he wasn't strong enough to realistically handle the threats on higher floors - a combination of level, and gear. So for now, here he was. Maybe later, he'd set up somewhere else more permanently. "Well, it isn't much, and it certainly ain't home, but - it's mine." Rey moved inside and looked towards his table, where he would be di
  18. Click Click Boom: Purveyor of Gadgets, Gizmos, and more! (Don't mind the smoke, watch your step!) Professional Engineer: Sparkstones, Traps, Bombs - 4 Crafts a Day It wasn't much - a humble, small tent, and a small cobbled together work bench inside. A sign, staked outside proclaimed its purpose to anyone who observed it. Small enough, light enough, to be stored up and taken with the owner on the move. When set up, inside, there is a sturdy work bench with a vise and clamp on one side, with a tool stand welded together placed next to it with well oiled tools adorning the r
  19. The flickering green light drew Rey in as he traveled around - he'd been pointed this way by a couple Players as somewhere he could get things identified, and potentially made useful. He knocked against the entrance. "Hello the shop! I hope I've come to the right place, I've goods that need appraising!"

  22. Reytac settled down at the workbench that Waldo had pointed him towards, and let the noises of the world fall away around him as he concentrated. Somewhere, he could hear the scraping and cutting from Nisa as she worked, but her efforts were background noise to him at the moment. Trying to emulate her would most likely only lead to failure for him. A Sparkstones that was the first thing to craft, a small, applicable 'pellet' that would enhance a weapon, focusing the effects. A small pellet - like the twist of roots that had gnarled together. His own starting point. Reytac pulled it out a
  23. Reytac felt a burn in his muscles as he moved himself between the Monkey King and Sam while she got herself back to her feet. The way that the ape's attention had snapped towards Sewallus when he wanted to draw its attention had made it a bit frustrating - he didn't want the NPC to die, but to be fair he wanted himself or Firefly to die even less. The massive monkey swung its arms, reaching and groping at its back, for a few moments before with a loud roar, it ripped the blade out of its shoulder and tossed to the ground. This was one of the times Rey was glad there wasn't as much realism - th
  24. Reytac hummed a small tune in thought as he turned over that idea. The thought of leaving the spider silk untreated was an option, but it would build towards an entirely different set of possibilities. Instead of being able to use it as a tripwire, it would lend towards binding and trapping things itself instead of being used to trigger other things - though... the brunette shook his head to get rid of the errant thought away as he followed after Nisa. He spotted something sticking out of the loamy earth as the walked, and he detoured while the white-haired woman was holding up her hand for he
  25. "Ah, sorry about that. Name's Reytac." Telling her his name had completely slipped his mind since he had initially thought she was going to fall on her face, and the oddity and abruptness to her actions, like diving into a mimic, had kept him offkilter just a bit. "And, I suppose? I wouldn't have called myself one before all this, if anything I was just another guy. But in here, sometimes you need an edge. Or at least, I will. And the thought of tinkering with things appeals to me." Somehow, Reytac didn't really think this woman would need anything like an 'edge'. It was rather strange, really
