OOC: Turn order now = Hakai, Ethereal, Wasp?
As he was pulled along by Hakai the cobbled streets that were the staple of starting towns gradually faded to dirt track and before long they were in the middle of the wilderness. Unsure they were going the right way, the Knight pants "D-Do you know where we'r- whoa!" In what had seemed like a mere couple of minutes of sprinting the pair turned one seemingly ordinary corner and were faced with the striped back of a Queen Bee. As Eth skidded to a halt on the grass beneath his feet, the boss seemed to hear the very slight sound and whirred around to bare its massive mandibles at the players. "Well.. That came out of the woodwork.." is all he could think to say, "Hold back, this should be quick hopefully."

"Thanks guys but you'll be doing this before long." he grins, sheathing his weapon in its rightful place on his back. Looking at each of them in turn, he adds "Well, you all did really well for your first combat - when I started it was a little more... chaotic. Heh.." Brushing a few glimmers of remaining crystal from his right shoulder he glances at Hydra, "Bar sounds good - let's all grab some beer or whatever shall we?" Turning back to face the sprawling town across the fields, the Blade began stepping towards it, letting the others trail behind.

Ethereal raised an eyebrow at the rewards of the quest, he hadn't actually concerned himself with what he would get out of the fight apart from experience. A Banner of Command, huh? There was actually some pretty nice loot here, the Corrupted kill was definitely worth the effort. Though he was a little disappointed at how little damage he actually dealt to the Fallen Angel he was happy he was actually of some use to his guild. "I'm up for a drink - need one after this."
-
Ethereal snorted, this was quite the turnout of enemies. Better help out a little with this for the sake of the other players. Twirling his slab of a sword a little, he takes a single step forwards.

The huge blade slides across the targets with practiced ease, the boar's health bars drop to zero in a fraction of a second and vaporise into pixels which instantly dissipate. Shrugging, the Knight twirls his massive sword and plants it into the ground cooly. Glancing at the other players he asks calmly, "Everyone okay..?"

Keying in the various coordinates into his interface, Ethereal began to make his way through the icicle-laced starter town of Floor Four. He used to hate this particular level of Aincrad, endless blizzards and freezing cold. The fact that if you strayed too far and for too long you started taking damage and dying wasn't a help either. Once he got the <<Survival>> skill from the Traveller, however, it has been one of his favorite floors. Dragons populated certain sections for hunting and he no longer felt the cold. The scenery was awesome too.
-
Ethereal nods as Mack briefs them all on the situation and battle plan. Swiping his hand down quickly, he taps several points on his interface and on each press a new piece of armor would appear on his person. His wrists would be covered by spiked vambraces of red and gold, on his back would appear the red and white cloak of the Crimson Blades and finally in his right hand forms a huge slab of a greatsword crafted from a dragon's tail. Stepping back a few times from the fighting, he awaits the order to jump upon the enemy in glorious combat.
[Going off my current stats, this is my current setup.]

Looking on, cautious of the other players not getting hit, Eth realises in a moment that Alakir has a fair chance of being hit given the hate counter. It wasn't exactly rocket science - he had to get the mob to hate him while not killing it. If he used his sword it would be overkilled more than several times over. Only one thing for it! "I got your back, Alakir." he grunts, stepping forward gracefully to strike the mob.

Now his level was showing - the jap landed cleanly on the nose of the boar in a flash. Hopping back as to not get in the way of players, Eth stands by with little worry from the boar now that he was more likely than not to be attacked next.

Ethereal nodded, "I got this little guy just when the quest was freshly found, he's one of the oldest familiars still around from what I know. Trust me, he's as grumpy as an old man anyway, heh." He chuckled lightly, giving the familiar another pat before it soared back up into the sky and became indistinguishable from the clouds above. As the Knight returned his gaze to the Earth, he spotted in the distance ahead a plume of smoke. "Welp, looks like we've found it." he grins, pointing it out with a wave of his hand. From this distance figures could be seen milling around the wooden motte-and-bailey type settlement.
-
Applause could be heard from Eth's position, greatsword now buried slightly by the tip in the ground. The Knight was fairly impressed at how efficiently the Daydreamer had dispatched what was actually a fairly challenging foe - it didn't even have the time to land a hit. He trudged over the loose dirt to Hydra and slapped him on the back enthusiastically with a "Well done lad! Good job!" Little did he realise that there was enough force behind his blow to possibly damage the young man. Spending as much time as he did on the frontlines had made him a little sloppy when it came to containing power.

Luckily enough, despite all this that pat would probably be received as gentle and friendly. "Whatcha say we go get a drink? I know a good bar..?"

As Mack spoke of sacrifice, Eth managed to spot a glinting in the shadows that skirted the room. Metallic, out of the ordinary and hidden in one corner of the sizeable square space. Holding his torch out before him as he drew closer, the halo of light cast by it illuminates the area in question - revealing that the glinting was a mineral deposit. This mineral deposit, however, marked the entrance to a previously unseen cave entrance through which the player might go through in single file. Moisture clung to the side of the stone and patches of moss dotted the inside. "Hey Mack - over here. I think I got something."

"All the bloody time, my friend. All the bloody time." Ethereal whispers back, unmoving as the board appeared. Cracking his knuckles, the Knight takes a few steps towards the nearest boar with his fists raised. "Alright you little porkchop! Let's be having ya!" he quips as the Blade charges, bringing his closed hand down in a hammerfist on the boar's head.

Having not used his martial arts skill in quite some time to say the least, the strike misses the boar by a hair's breath skimming it down one side. Taking one casual step back, he shrugs. "Yes, yes.. My form is sloppy as a wet biscuit I know. I'm not too used to holding back this much, heh."
-
As the two of them approached Hydra and Allania, Eth gave them both a smile. "Hello players, I'm Eth - the guy that organised this meeting." he greets them, then to answer Alakir's question, "The plan is that Alakir and who I presume is Allania will be taking on some boars and other mobs to get the feel for how the combat system and that works. Hydra will assist you both the best he can, showing off his sword arts. In the meantime I'll be keeping an eye on you lot, advising and maybe fighting some mobs myself." He looks between the other players, noting quickly what weapons they were using and how they handled them.
-
Ethereal makes his way up to the closest mound of earth nearby the combat area, stepping onto the small raised position he surveys the duel taking place before him. Hydra had managed to take the enemy down to almost half health in one attack. Not bad for a newbie. Not bad at all. Taking his greatsword from its position on his back, Eth twirls it as if it was nothing heavier than a stick, whistling as the serrated metal windmilled. If Hydra didn't land his next attack and managed to get cut up the Blade was poised to charge in. For now, the Daydreamer seemed to be doing a good enough job.
-
Ethereal glanced once more at the ingame time, sighing as he saw the digits. 'Seems that the group is caught up doing something or other..' he sighs in disappointment, then looks up quickly as the sound of battle carries over the wind with a familiar voice. Pushing off from the tree and turning 90 degrees to the cries of battle, Eth steps forwards a few times to the other side of the tree without noticing the player lying on the ground. Shaking his head in bewilderment, he sights Hydra prancing about in the field - probably playing tag or something with a boar. For the life of him, he could never figure that lad out. "For God's sake, Hydra.." he mutters quietly, opening his menu and equipping his huge jagged greatsword. At this point, the Knight spotted the player on the ground - the hat, clothes and height matched the description of one of the players he was looking for. "Alikar, is it? Or have I got entirely the wrong person..?" the alchemist was totally oblivious of the fact he butchered the name, keeping one eye on the battle out in the fields.

Watching Tagas shrug off his blow with relative ease fires Eth up to his highest levels of "Oh you are so dead! You think I'm weak, eh?!" Jumping back towards the fallen angel he brings his greatsword over his head in a crushing overhead blow, smacking Tagas directly in his left collarbone. While it did just the same damage as before Eth felt much better having managed to hit the thing twice in succession and do at lease some damage to it.

Floor One was a rather beautiful sight in the light of the setting sun. Orange-gold streaks of light flowed over the horizon as the sun made its daily round, casting lengthy silhouettes across the sprawling fields. Figures could be seen packing up from the field and jogging towards the safety of the open gates to the Town of Beginnings. Eth leant gently against one of the numerous trees that dotted the settlement, flicking his hand to open the interface of SAO. Examining it for a moment, he checked the time - in a few minutes he'd be meeting a small group of players gunning to get out into the upper floors. 'Couple more minutes. I knew I shoulda got a coffee or something.' the Blade grumbles mentally, returning his gaze to the picturesque view as he awaited their arrival.

The blinding light engulfed him entirely as the Blade's body faded into the pixels of the portal. There would be pure white for a second, before the world seemed to open up before him once again. With a single step, he was clear of the piercing colours and is standing in the center of the Floor Two plaza. Cobbled streets and rustic buildings bordered the open space, elves milling between trading posts and other establishments. Stepping out of the way of a woman with heavily-laden basket, Eth waits patiently for his companions to join him.

Ethereal grimaced, sword clattering a little as it rested in his gauntleted hands. The Knight had battled worse foes but as it stood and no matter how much he hated to admit it he needed to Grandmaster his Two-Handed skill if he was going to be of best use in future fights like this. Bringing his black blade up in a long sweeping arc, Eth directs the blow to one of Tagas' sides. The cutting edge contacts, ripping a portion of flesh from the monster's side with ease.

Ethereal smiled as he moved a rook over to the far side of the board, knocking over the old man's king with a quip of "Checkmate, sir. Well played." With a sigh of satisfaction, the swordsman begins folding back up the checkered wood and marble board slotting the various sculpted pieces into their drawers. Raising his head to the darkening sky, Eth turned his gaze to the other players froliking around the lake. He recognised quite a few of them, from experience the Blade knew how the mob cycles worked and that these guys might not know how things ramped up at night. "Hey, everyone! Best be getting back to the safe zone; there'll be a lot of strong mobs." with that, he gave one last nod to the elder and made his way back to the town.
[PP-10] Wail of the Banshee
in Beginner Floors
Posted
Ethereal was silent for a moment, recalling what he knew of this boss. "Right. There's gonna be four Guardians that should be easy enough to beat - low stats. So we'll use minimal energy AoE to get rid of them quickly and let us focus on the Banshee. She's got a nasty ability to ignore mitigation every now and again so we need to watch that.. She's a little harder to hit than other bosses too. We need to really lay into her with single-target stuns and max damage when she is; she should be easy enough to defeat as long as we make sure she can't attack us or smack us with that scream." The Knight would look back up at Mack, "I think I got that nailed.. Uh.. Let's keep moving them.." He gingerly holds out his torch to the darkness and begins making his way down the tunnel towards their enemies. Hopefully it shouldn't be too long now.
<Undead Guardian Zombies> is a Field Mini Boss and has the following statistics:
Health: 40 HP
Damage per Attack: 30
+15 Damage Mitigation
<Banshee> is a Field Boss and has the following statistics:
Health: 250 HP
+2 Evasion
Damage per Attack: 60
Banshee ignores armor mitigation on a natural roll of 9-10
-Banshee's Screech: On a natural roll of 10 she will add a scream to her attack that will paralyze all players present for 1 turn.
