  1. Ethereal nods, "Let's get this done." Having reached the glowing portal that was the teleporter he takes a step into it - in a moment he seems to disappear into the circle of light. Blinded for a moment, the swordsman takes several further paces as he feels his body return after the transport. Blinking, the warrior turns and awaits his leader to follow immediately after. Studying his map, he makes his way through the streets of the spawn area in the direction of the crone. Eventually, the two of them happen upon what seems to be a witch of some sort trying to catch the attention of several passing players. They would shy away, not wanting to have anything to do with her.

  2. The tavern's heavy ash door would swing inwards, a tall bearded man dressed in commoners clothes glances around the room. After a moment, the figure would spot Mack out from the crowd and noise, picking his way through the clustered players to reach the table. Smiling as he reached them, hair unruly as ever he apologises. "Sorry, I got a little lost on the way here.. It's been a while since I was in town." After a second, the stranger pulls up another seat and plonks himself down on it with a sigh. "I'm Ethereal, don't think I've seen most of you around." Eth then patiently listens in, figuring out what they had been talking about before he sort of barged in.

  3. Ethereal appears to snap out of his dark place as soon as battle is mentioned - "You bet! But, uh, I'm Level Thirty. Will that be a problem or..?" On the inside, the warrior felt absolutely terrible and tries to push the distant memories out of his thoughts. "Hey - you mentioned a guild?" He attempts to stir up some good conversation as they move forwards, the settlement of this floor now within easy eyeshot. Eth would be a little surprised at how quickly they had made progress towards it, considering he had been practically dead not long ago and widens his eyes at the view slightly and involuntarily.

  6. Note: Having found a bunch of grandfathered items I'm gonna be converting those Uncommon+ into one material each (IC I just dissolved them in acid or something) - if anyone has a issue with this then just tell me.

Ethereal cracks his knuckles, readying a batch of useless items he had in storage for conversion into materials of use to people. He would dip them into acid one by one, burning them down to their component parts.

  7. (OOC I guess I messed this up chronologically, since I'm in the meeting thread as well and should know the salute thing :S ah well)

Ethereal nods at Mack, lowering his hand and assuming a more casual posture "Thank heavens for that. I had an old guild leader who was a stickler for the formal stuff." The warrior would smile as Mack equipped the gauntlets. "Nice bit of kit, that. I could use one of those when I'm caving.." As Mack mentioned that he would be the party leader, he raises an eyebrow; "Alright, I'll warn you that I'm a little out of practice though." Swiping down quickly with his hand, the Strike Force member opens his map and takes a quick look at the tenth floor's layout before leading the two towards the center of town. "Anything you can tell me about your last attempt at the quest?" he inquires curiously as they made their way to the teleporter.

  8. Eth smiled back at the man, it wasn't everyday that you met a player as genuine and helpful as Nixon. "You get the Survival skill by completing the Traveler quest - you have to escort a man who's carrying cargo. It gives a bit of passive healing but the best part is that it negates environmental damage. As in, I could sleep on Floor 4 or Floor 6 and not feel it." He would raise his head to the sky, the downpour seemed to be subsiding. Wiping his face with the back of his hand and brushing some of the muck out of his beard Eth looks back over at the blonde. "The creature.." he would frown a little, "Bad memories. I promised myself I'd kill it alone, so that it can't harm anyone every again." He pauses. "It's almost impossible to find, I came to this floor around your level and stumbled across it with a few.. friends.." Another pause - "I've blocked it off best I can but I shouldn't tell anyone its location."

  9. Ethereal enters the store, stepping over to the counter or equivalent. "Looking to buy a big-ass thorny block for the upcoming boss.." He slaps down an order form onto the table, then deposits a stack of Col upon it. "Tier 2 Perfect, please."

  10.  A minute or so after the arrival of the Vice-Commander and the Strike Force leader, the portal would glow and pulse with light. A moment later, a figure clad in jagged black and red armor would take a step out from the teleporter. It seemed to be made of overlapping and fused dragon scales and bones, finished with the gold inlays of the Strike Force. A huge serrated greatsword would run the length of his back - only the handle would be visible as most of it was obscured by the standard cloak of a Strike Force member. Taking several more paces, the new arrival would notice the two prominent officers of the guild. Cradling a dragonlike horned helmet under one arm, Eth would come to a stop before the two; "Mack. Opal." He offers a simple greeting before taking his place beside them, emerald eyes focusing on the portal and unruly hair swaying slightly in the breeze.

  11. Ethereal seemed a little surprised at Mack's entrance - for such a bulky man he sure could be quiet when he wanted. The wild-haired man instantly recognised the Knights of Blood insignia emblazoned on the man's equipment. Not only that, it was traced with gold - the Strike Force. This must be the infamous Mack judging by his distinctive appearance; Eth was in two minds whether to salute or address him as sir. Better to be safe than sorry. The straightsword user raises his hand, placing it against his brow in a formal salute and confirms "Yes, sir."

He then swipes his other hand, opening the party menu and inviting the axe-wielder to join him officially as a party. In addition, with a few more gestures jagged black and red equipment appears on his body in a flurry of pixels followed by a huge greatsword latching to his back. The gear would seem like some of the highest quality available and would be inlaid with the gold of the Strike Force. Eth would leave his helmet off.

  12. (OOC RIP when people don't obey post order :P )

So, how are you doing these days now that you've come down from the mountain to rejoin civilization." Ethereal would pull a face, gesturing at their surroundings. "Well, I only got back a few days ago so I'm not really sure. I think I'm doing alright but it'll take a while to get used to the.. differenc-?" He would trail off as the young girl bounded up to him, smiling and poking his beard. It would tickle but it reminded Eth of what Rue used to do when she was as little. He smiled sadly for a moment, wondering where she was now..

"I've been looking for you. I-"  "Sorry." snaps him out of his thoughts, he would reply warmly - "Don't mind me, we were just chat-" the repeated poking of his beard had led to Ranmura's finger landing in his mouth as he spoke. It happened just in time for  "Calm down young one, you might be bothering the man if you're too overbearing."

"Pleash stoph.." he smiles, plucking her finger out and smiling to pass it off.

  13. Ethereal was a little surprised at everyone's reaction to his appearance - I mean, he thought it was obvious enough that he had enough hate on the mobs for them not to aggro the others. The warrior shrugged mentally; the sight of so many boars would have unnerved himself as well once upon a time. It was strange, however, that they broke off to retreat in different directions or stand around. In this sort of situation people tended to stick together..

As his mind wandered to such thoughts the higher-level player takes in all that lay before him. There seemed to be a small cluster of players - a bewildered man dressed in dark clothes chatting with a young grinning girl. Seemed a violet-haired girl was dashing towards him holding a nice-looking blade along with a bulky warrior clad in red armor. Finally, a blonde was running as fast as her little legs could carry her towards town.

"Hey!" he called out from his vantage point, pointedly looking at the bearded man.  "Do you need assistance?!"  Eth turns to the player, it was rare that anyone offered help in this sort of situation. He would wonder for a moment if he was part of the Knights of Blood - the armor certainly hinted at it. "I'm just collecting materials. These things just don't quit even when I'm not damaging them.. They're just annoying more than anything." As if to make his point, a boar would nip his hand and Ethereal would just sigh before smacking it away.

  14. Tack-man would seem crestfallen. It seems arrogance olny stretches so far and as soon as this newcomer started getting involved he was out. He would give one final sneer before trudging away, head held high. Ethereal smirks as Baldur told him to "Get lost" and quips "Kids who think they're ready for the front lines.. Gonna get himself killed one of these days." The bearded man would nod his thanks and holds out his hand for a shake, "Name's Ethereal but everyone calls me Eth. We might have met before..? I've been taking a break in the mountains for a while so I apologise if I've forgotten you. I used to be in the Crimson Inquisition and Square One if that helps."

  15. Eth made his way into the store, he had almost got lost on the way here but the distinctive sign had managed to catch him before he overshot. He would wave cheerily as he entered "I got your PM, I'm Ethereal. I prefer Eth. Anyway - thank you for making this so quickly. Here's your 200 Col." The bearded man would hold the currency outstretched as he eyed the cloak.

    + Strike Team Cloak

    - 200 Col

  16. An order comes in by PM from a player called "Ethereal". He states he'll be around to collect it once she PMs him back.

    Item: Strike Team Cloak

    Type: Clothing

    Shop: The Violet Phantom

    Creator: Vayrin

    Quality: Good

    Enhancement(s): None

Description: A standard Knights of Blood hooded cloak with gold instead of white trim, indicating the wearer is part of the Strike Force. The guild symbol could be seen on the right shoulder with the Strike Force emblem on the left.

  17. Eth glances up at the other man, a sort of grin on his dirt-spotted face despite the elements. "I sorta tried to solo it.. I didn't realise how far above my level it was. Got me low- I had under fifty hitpoints before I escaped." He is silent for a moment before muttering, "It's harder without friends.." Then appears to shake himself out of those thoughts. They walk for a little longer, Eth pretty much standing unassisted by the end of a few more minutes. "I tell you, the Survival skill is really useful. Once I got trapped in an ice cave on the snow floor, which one is it..? Anyway - it basically saved my life."

Eventually the bearded man's eyes would fall upon Nixon's armor. Seems he was still a little fuzzy in the head - it had been a good while since the blonde had equipped his armor. "That.. is not a bad idea. I usually prefer to keep out of my gear when not in a serious fight but.." He trails off, raising his face to the sky to have several black droplets fall and slide off it, leaving their dark trails. "In this weather, anything can happen."

Eth swipes his hand down as they walk, deftly equipping his own kit. Dark, jagged dragonscale armor would appear and fixate to him, a massive greatsword follows. It would pulsate red once before securing to his back. He would forgo a helmet, leaving his head uncovered.

  18. @Mack

A bearded man would be tapping his chin, gazing and surveying the wooden bulletin board in front of him. Tracing a finger across a few items he would mutter "Too easy.. Too low.. Too finicky. Hmm. Hello.." Emerald eyes catch a notice "Those who venture near Tartarus say they hear an unholy wailing. If they linger too long, that wailing becomes louder, many flee before the sound reaches them. Those foolish enough to stay encounter a deadly fate!" Intrigued, the player - apparently wearing only commoners clothes and an old Crimson Inquisition cloak taps the "O" key. The quest would ding "ACCEPTED" and the tall stranger would smile. "Right then.. Where the hell is this Tartarus place? Greek mythology, huh?"

  19. Eth was taking a short stroll through the rustic settlement of F1, a floor he spent little time visiting these days. Groaning, he would complain - "Gahhh.. I'm so bloody bored!" Noticing one of the numerous bulletin boards scattered around his interest would be piqued. Leaning in and gently moving some low-level players aside who were chatting about taking on a boss. One of them - wearing tacky golden armor - would sneer; "What do you think you're doing buddy?!" Suddenly, the tacky-man would pull a shortsword that looked like it had come out of a bargain bucket. Eth would turn his head, not wanting to waste time he waits until the last possible second before tearing his eyes from the board. With a sigh, he scratches his beard. "Yeah? What do you want?"

    Emerald Orchid Tavern

The bar would be a medieval style tavern, all dark wood counters and heavy furniture. The large room wouldn't be gloomy but cosy, warmly lit with a small wood fire in the corner. The odd lamp hangs, gently swinging in the breeze interspersed randomly around the building. The sound of hearty conversation percolates through the establishment, filtering down from the upper levels as well as from the groups of players clustered around tables. The scent of beverages of all types and the faint smell of wood smoke mix and complement each other throughout the bar. There seemed to be a tall burly barkeep behind the heavy bar, being helped out by a short blonde barmaid. Patrons are chattering all around the tavern, welcoming those who enter.

A large rectangular oak table would be positioned just in front of the roaring fire, a tall bearded man wearing green commoner's clothes and a crimson red cloak with an old insignia emblazoned upon it. He is chatting with a few other players, exchanging tall tales. A huge jagged red and black greatsword would be placed against the table, along with several glasses upon the table.
