  1. Watching the three simply tear this thing limb from limb like a branch in a tornado, it was magnificent. The beast begins to rise, and Griswold begins to rush it down with his shield raised high. Slamming the section of steel against its skull sees the horn broken away and cast into the soil at his side with a heavy thud. The sound was like a bell being rung, the creature almost spins from the respective impact created. A lift of that wall up and holding a stalwart stance incase of any rebuttal. But the boss simply could not find the strength to act, As Griswold tosses the last of the few crystals into the pile and they all trigger a haunting sound. Shiina was there in spirit, her sneaky little skill forming a temple like sonate that drained any strength that it had left to offer. He owed that girl a milkshake.

  2. As the twin girls vanish, Griswold looks to Sam and the gates begin to rise on the far side of this massive ring. "It begins. Be ready, be ruthless." the smith offers her a nod, a step toward the center and a slide of his feet apart to brace for a show of aggro from the beast. A massive hide of gray and dark skin, a large singular horn protruding from the things skull. A rhino, as written and described. Easily much larger than a horse. It stomps the soil beneath as it begins to shuffle out the opening, reducing the shadow cast upon it. A lift of his hammer, and a solid clap of the tiny mallet against the rounded part of his shield. It rings out in a bang. "For Victory!" Griswold goads drawing the creatures attention with his cry, starting his method of tanking. Kindling forces his weapons and armor to begin to glow like freshly plucked from a furnace in their color. He was becoming hot, channeling that unused skill with a bit more intention.

     

  3. A pause and a twist of one eyebrow beneath his helmet, caught off guard by that last comment by Shiina. A glance to Freya with interest. It seemed as though Shiina knew their strange little query, and even more interesting was that it didn't bother Freya in the slightest. Moreover his daughter looked outright exhausted, she's been on the move? Was she trying to accomplish something? "Take it easy." Griswold spoke to the blonde twin "It should be easy yes." He spoke to the quest difficulty, assuming that given it was on this floor it couldn't be too troublesome. Toward the gate into the birth of rough reddish black stone, the floor that he was a suitable guide. A spin of his malus, a turn of his head and a glance into that orange glow. This wouldn't take too long and then Freya could get some rest after. She looked beat.

  5. A heavy foot off the pad being the last to arrive, accepting the invite from Sam once she beckoned it to him. He'd yet to hear about this thing, but with this much damage on tap he knew it was serious. A glance to the large ring that lingered over the city. The arena. A lift of a visage that covers his brow, attaching around his neck and becoming anchored. "I assume this is going to be a ride. But I trust the lot of you. We will see this through." Griswold spoke from somewhere deep in his belly, and with it a sense of urgency and power. It was easy to rally behind it, that thickened and tough voice. He could take the hits, and would expect that with this kind of power at their disposal it would be quickly reversed. A metallic clank of a shield formed he takes toward the ring. For this fight to begin.

  6. As he appears within floor 8's settlement he notices Shiina, who had taken to calling him Papa Griswold. Since when? Her excitement couldn't help but bring a smile to his face, she was a mirror of Anna. Had a way of bringing joy to any room she was in, even if chaos followed soon after. Accepting the invite from Sam and offering the girl a nod in tandem. "A large ape." He asks trying to recall something about it, not being one of the ones that do a ton of reading. The girl seemed rather focused, and in her hands was a little black novel to which she had penned. Let's see where this road led. "Come 'ere" Griswold chases down Shiina and begins to correct her plate armor that was in an odd disarray, it was sort of on but a few buckles were not quite fastened down properly.

  7. A nod in response to Simmone, as Sam was on her own journey. As it would seem was that everyone was dealing with changes, a fact that Griswold couldn't help but see. Here was Sam going through something very similar to himself, trying to find her identity and place. A notion he could respect. "It's just outside the settlement, near the largest mountain." The smith told the cat, offering a loose direction. "Mind the flames." Simmone appeared as though she wasn't quite as comfortable in this heat, like a flower wilting under too much sun. A few heavy footfalls to make some distance, keeping an eye peeled on the woman to make sure she was keeping toe with him. Wandering through the paths to which he was familiar. Seeking the last leg of their journey as both had seemingly forgotten the second step of the quest. Into his shop, Vulcan begins to rise.

  8. A pat to the side of his hound, still working hard against the fires of floor 9. A nice pile of ores of the same hue at his side, a vibrant silverish blue laden through the stones that glimmered a bit under the glow of orange beside them. Liquid rock was a common sight on Mt. Stygian, as was Griswold and Vulcan. An underhand toss of a hunk of inert rock to the beast sees it ripped out of the air like a dog with a ball. It begins to heat, become liquid and ooze from its jaw like saliva. "Good boy." Griswold chuckles at the thing, eying the peak and the fires that came out in plumes of black soot. Just needed some more material, to keep working on the endless blades and plates that needed forging. Some were complete just missing embossment and a brand. Others still had parts to cut clean and shape.

  10. Griswold receives a message from Sam, the hunk of metal still in his clutches still heated from the furnace. A hot orange glow still racked on its edge, that once dropped into a trough of water sees the chamber filled with white steam. "I'll finish fitting and sharpening when I return." Griswold chuckles with the outward thought, pushing the menu open and fighting the buttons with large fingers into a barely legible message back. Donning that large suit of dark blue hued armor, like a machine his face vanishes into it. The heavy foot falls that follow after the grinding of a large panel of stone to hide his shop from the rest of the floor, into the blackened sky and the warp gate of the settlement. Mt. Stygian was still ripe and angered, mirroring his own path with its ferocity. He was getting a grip on this bestowed gift, learning more about it on the daily.

  11. The weapon delivered to the wanderer, Griswold had some time to kill. Knowing full well he almost had a grasp on what just barely out of reach, he wanted to stretch his legs and push just a bit further. A spin of his mallet into his right hand, swapping from his crafting attire into something more suitable for combat. He types out a message after a few mistakes, sending it to the general chat of the guild looking for any to join him. A couple of responses flood back, as he picks up a slip of paper and finds a suitable target from the multitude of others. A few bandits shouldn't be too difficult to handle, and as expected given the replies he'd have more than enough manpower. Out the halls of the guild, through the gates of coral and up onto the pad, he returns to his home plane. Into the fires of Mt. Stygian, that he knew like the back of his hand.

  12. A single step forward sees a detonation akin to the inferno cavern, blinding the other players in the vicinity. The creatures wince beneath the fiame, and in that instant of it clearing shows Griswold slam his skull against the boss. It forces the creature to turn, before offering a fist of his own across Griswolds head. A spit, and a clench of his teeth. "That the best you got?" Spinning his hammer and slamming his shield across the iron guardian builds a moment of reprieve. "Sam, he got your weapon?" He looks to her, reaching over the girls shoulder who almost matched his size but not his girth. Grabbing the handle he forged, and slamming the mallet into the head sees it carve through the hand attached.

    A mace finds his back, the boss wasn't done. He grimaces as he body blocks like a shield for the girl. It triggers those flames again like wake. Once it ends, that weapon. Sam's weapon held his flames and it caught his eye. "Finish it." Griswold barks as he spins leaving the armless knight to her. As his attentions shift to the boss, and a jab of his fist spins the thing around in a slink and weakening. A pull of his massive arm up the back of the things head sees it driven into the floor beneath with a snap.

  13. To the sounds of splashing toward the group that was slowly forming up, it seems he was in the right place. "So Secret Medicine. Seems a little low level, should be a breeze." Griswold comments lifting his left arm and setting his shield to it in a flash of orange. "A little caution will not hurt though, never know what might end up happening if we take it at face value." A word of wisdom spoken, from a mature old timer. Accepting the invite sent out by Setsuna, working his way through the menus with some difficulty until he manages to get it done. Those sausage like fingers make it no easier to do, that and his age made him a little crap at using the UI. With a grunt, Griswold pays the team a nod and heads toward the threshold. It was time to get this show on the road, best to get started sooner rather than later.

  14. The heavy slams against an anvil bleed sparks into the interior of his shop, creating small flashes of light that illuminate the place with each. The sword was taking hold pending Raidou's order, a sudden request for a katana had him working away at it. Folding the steel made these blades some of the hardest to create. Dropping it into a pool to cool, he peels it clean and reveals an unfazed blade of pure steel. It was ready, and once it was sharpened it would be finished. A moments respite to clear his head. He sends a message with quite a bit of difficulty to the rest of the guild, moving floors after equipping his plate armor. A small sprint into his own affairs would be best, give him a sense what he was fighting for. The man was just getting a grip on his own fire, his own weird skills. Just one more push.

  15. Across the floor of fire, heading for the settlement where the others would surely arrive after not too long. Stepping through the gates after a short few minute trek, he notices the two girls had moved and were beginning to form up a pile in the center. "I'm here, what's the plan." Griswold barked righting himself and slamming a slotted visage of a matched helmet over his dome. A flick of his fingers seals the gap with a latch, making his suit of plate fully covering. A raise of his left arm produces a wall of steel from shoulder to thigh, curved slightly in the shape of a kite. A mallet ripe on his hip, he was ready to let this shit play out. To see just how it was that his weird recently discovered skills operated, without his familiar present. How much of it was stemming from the creature, and how much of it was purely coming from him alone. He needed to know.

  16. "Picnic day?" Griswold turned his head slightly at the notion, was this some strange Japanese holiday he wasn't aware of. There had been a few, the Tanabata festival being one of them so it wasn't really a surprise to him in the slightest. Looking to Chase as they started holding an exchange of words, it would appear that between the two of them there was a strange mesh of oddity he couldn't help but see. It was pretty awkward. The language, both bodily and verbally was disjointed.

    "Just pickin' up some bread. It's cheap here." His attentions shift to Chase with a pull of one out of the bag. "I'm not much of a foodie, just eat what's filling and is edible somewhat." He gestured one of the baked goods to the girl if she wanted a bit as a form of show and tell. "Needed a break from the anvil, and a shopping trip was a good way to get the lead out." A glance back to the girl with the offer of an invitation, Griswold's head looks to Chase with a shrug. "As long as there isn't anything weird on the menu, I got some time to kill." The two rather flashy looking players of the three were getting a few prying eyes, it wasn't often that high level players in their obvious custom equipment were seen in floor 1's starting towns and villages. The NPC's recognized the smith sure, but usually he was in an out before the ruckus.

  17. A heavy motive of fatigue still racked muscles, joints still outcried with a day's work with lead. The anvil had put him through quite the routine, but everything was up to par and cleared from his plans. A moments break, his familiar could consume metals but he could hardly do the same. The city was quite lively in its content, an ode to the time of day. A chattering of a crowd, forming an anthem of white noise that casts the convincing argument of a well stocked village. Pale white bricks and dust beneath a light blue cloudless sky.

    To the rather frequented stall with the older gentleman offering a small sum of col across to yield a fair share of loaves of bread in a bag. Out of the corner of his eye, a woman racked with confusion. Could she be lost? "Do you need directions?" The voice came across rough with the question, an accent thick of german descent. A look into her more straight gives back lime green locks on a lanky frame. Her gear seemed standard, perhaps a player that hadn't left the walls in some time. Unsure of the context given she should be rather familiar with the place by now if she was a town hugger, Griswold was a man to offer despite the issue.

    A shuffle of the bag in his arms, an adjustment and a scratch at the back of his head. It dawned on him, that it was customary in japanese customs to like bow first. Folding a bit awkwardly and only slightly like a nod, he tries to follow the still foreign customs "Oh uh, I'm Griswold."

  18. Atop an anvil was a scattering of sparks as he pounds away with heavy blows, in a rhythmic clank and clink of his mallet. Gaius was rounding an impossibility, and somewhere along that route he was working to make the smith proud, trying his damned to get these two pieces together to no avail. No metal seemed to take, they just would not conjoin together...yet. He gives up for now as a message pops into his view, Sam needed some backup and it was in his backyard no less. Allowing the pieces to cool, he'd have to return them to the dragoon and keep trying on the daily. It wasn't easy, but eventually may just hone the secret he needed, it was a challenge he was more than willing to take head on.

    Shuffling into the back of the chamber and donning his armor in segments, hunks of cobalt blue panels attaching to his frame one after another rather easily. He tells Vulcan to stay put for today, he was going to attempt and isolate his own skills from the beast once again. It was easier to tell when there was a control.

  19. Post Counter: 19

    As two of the girls leaves, Simmone more than likely to her weird witchcraft and Kasumi to whatever it was that she was expected to do on the regular. Griswold wasn't too sure what it was that it entailed, the division she was in was keen on its secrecy. Leaving him alone with Sam, staring heavily at the warp gate the two couldn't look at each other. "I suppose I can. Weird thinking about weddings in here." Griswold offered rather bluntly to her, unsure how he felt in the context. "Let me know where and when." He takes a single heavy step onto the platform with Vulcan lunging beside him, and a muttered word rips him up to floor 9. After all, he still had some work of his own to handle. All these fresh faces needed weapons and armor, and the ones climbing the ranks quickly needed upgrades. Sam would be left as the last to leave.

  20. Post Counter: 15

    The smith was preparing to let her rip, but before he can bridge the gap the two girls quickly beat the total hell out of the boss. The thing expires without much outside of a single breath. Griswold chuckles as Sam lowers her axe, as Kasumi appears from concealment around her. He lowers his shield arm as Simmone tosses him a hunk of metal, rolling it over and checking it. It could be repurposed, which he assumed that was the woman's intentions. Adding his hammer to his belt, he vanishes it away to work on later.

    Taking point as they press back through the sand, toward the single settlement that broke up the wastes. The wind around them howled as a coming storm began to assault their senses, just as they were rounding the walls to escape it. The timing couldn't have been more perfect, they had all but narrowly beat the storm before it manifested.

  21. "Don't judge me." Griswold barks toward Sam, with an honest smile. It was clear she was joking with him, and he more than reciprocated the gesture with a jest of his own. The scowl on his face instantly twists into a grin, as he pats the girl's shoulder. "So how is my axe treating you, your looking pretty well." A flash of the gate reveals Simmone shortly after Sam had shown, looks like that was two down and 1 to go for a full group. "Ever done butcher?" Griswold asks with his demeanor shifting rather serious as Kasumi was the last to join them on the floor, a flash of the dark gray circular platform revealing yet another girl. It was here that Griswold realized just how many girls there were to boys by a ratio. Has that always been a thing?. Into his hand he peels a hammer, the gang was all together and now it was time to party.

  22. A slide off the fountain, filled with murky and cloudy water. Sand had a habit of getting in this pool of liquid, making it filthy. The smith dabs his neck with a white rag, pushing the heat that held to his back at bay. To the quest board he rolls, swaying through the menu with a spin of his fingers. Every attempt seems to open something he did not intend to aim for, the glory of fingers the size of sausages. A sharp sigh after multiple attempts, finally claiming what he truly sought from its list. Butcher of the sands, should have been easy to undertake and this was tipped into extremes with whoever may come along for the ride. The guild had quite the number of exemplary fighters, being cropped into quite the little power houses. Vulcan couldn't be happier here, the place mirrored Floor 9 easily albeit less molten metals.

    The exploding big cat on his left, a conjoined attack from both girls putting down most the pride in an instant. The king was down and only this single one was left eyeing him. "You think so?" Griswold barked at it as it leaned low. It lunges and Griswold connects with his shield, sliding the wall and changing its path. A harsh connection of his hammer puts it down with a sudden crack, knocking into the dirt causing it to grind at its side. The thing was dazed from being bopped, Griswold was a big man and that surely hurt. It's legs floundered a bit as it attempted to get to its feet, but the Lioness simply could not. The smith spins his hammer in his clutches, as the girls behind him would surely make a mess of a downed enemy that was completely alone. That kindling on his back would keep them safe, as even in this state it couldn't ignore the towering man.

    Rampaging down the field and shuffling clean into the pack, Griswold slams his shield like a fist into the largest forcing it to topple with a heavy thud. The rest of the group twist and lunge on him, a torrent of fire and tenacity, Griswold bellows from inside the pile. A head butt, a slam of his shield shows he's not going down without a fight. What follows is a brutal exchange of him slamming punching with flames following behind every attack. His shield holds strong, as only one makes it past. The rest continue to attack at the smith who's armor and fierce jabs keep their attentions. The one that happens past draws but a single outstretched claw into Freya, drawing a heavy line upon her back in but an instant. Unlike the smith who's taking multiple attacks and relatively shrugging them off she sustains a lot more of what was dealt.
