  2. Rally CD [2/3], Howl CD [1/2]

    Released from the creature's mouth, Lun'rael still within spitting distance. A couple heavy steps forward and a slam of his shield sees fracturing teeth scattering into the dirt, A grab of the bottom lip and a twist sees it slammed into the dust with a tremendous show of strength. A clap of his hands together as if to remove some lingering residue. "Serves you right." Downed before, a pair of darting lights carve through that neck and see it detached. The explosion of red light, followed by fractals of data showing its demise. A grunt, and a twist of his neck for a hearty pop. To arms next to his daughter and the man who had stolen her fancy. "Big talk for a big ego." he glances back to the wave of color now ready to make another showing. "But my steel, won't be dulling any time soon." Holding himself with his shield, a kindling darts down the length of it, holding strong with them both. Somewhere in the back of his head, this felt like it was straight out of a movie.

  3. Rally CD [1/3]

    A slam against that shield again, before the heavy smith rushes in and takes a heavy swipe. It seems he had gotten at least this one's attention, and within a momentary blink of an eye, he found teeth returning to him. A wall of metal raised sees it slide along its polished surface, and the heft of such a blow even finds him about to be removed from his feet. Planting them hard into the dirt and stone, digging his heels in and clutching on with a meaty hand, he begins to push back against the moving train of an enemy. Grinding as it starts to build a trench from the dragging, carving a path underfoot. Griswold's frame bulges and veins become swollen with exertion. "Not going to happen!" Griswold barks through the plate covering, as he kneels low and heaves heavy against it, like a dwarf against a tsunami.

    A large maw opens up, allowing to view a row of teeth that could easily play the part of swords. Long pikes, in yellowed ivory, gleam with the slight moisture of something bitter and black. A sudden snap down on the smith sees his upper half vanish into that gullet, leaving only a pair of metal clad legs still planted upon the floor. Damage done, a slight recoil as that same mouth begins to burn in searing flame. There was something holding her at bay from consuming this man whole. It strains against the sensation and yet holds on tight to the prey it had latched on to. Lun'rael was definitely not going down without a fight, and this tank would be the first to fall, to break their morale and instill terror into those that dared question her power.

  8. His head perks a bit at the notion, as the boy seemed more than pleased to take the sword. Good, it would serve him better than any standard if he could learn to wield it. "It may be, but the only thing I know is find it. Fight with it a bit, teach it you mean buisness then feed it. Worked for him." Griswold gestures with an extended thumb toward the still oozing beast of flames. "As for lightning, I wouldn't really know where to begin. Fire is easy, found Vulcan in a volcano, but we can't exactly jump into a storm cloud for a lightning bug. So if you have any ideas." His accent was thick, so obviously German in its roughness. The second question came rather abruptly, and was paid with a shrug. "I don't know a lick about Japanese tradition and legend, frankly I am more lost than you. I went to a festival, and had no idea what was going on." He'd move along for the ride, but unfortunately for the smith outside the game's origin he'd have to take a back seat on this one.

  9. Into ranks, driving a path through an army desperate to stop them like a train. Running them over with little issue, reaching up and gripping one still latching on with both arms like a leech. He rips him off, and a harsh twist of a girthy wrist finds a satisfying snap before it's dropped like a bag of stones. The gleaming steel shield slides up and forms a barricade with the rest of his comrades. "We stand and fight! For Victory, LET NONE PASS." A heavy slam of his warhammer in goad against the surface of that shield sees it become engulfed in the flames from his furnace, as he twists his neck to a pop. He was ready for the coming tide and whatever numbers may come. Amongst this lot he couldn't feel safer, he finally found a place he had belonged. With his daughters and this group of players fighting against the odds stacked against them.

    A thud at his back, from behind the mass of players beginning to form up. A heavy screech threatens to make his ears bleed. A twist of his head and a peer over his shoulder as multiple serpent heads begin to pierce the ground. "Hmm.." a quizzical sound as he looks to the top of the tower to see the window where she had fallen. Seeing just a glimpse of Setsuna atop it, this was their general. He grunts before beginning to speak through a plated helmet. "Crush them all." Griswold barks as the soldiers begin to scatter like mice, as if fear had finally taken hold. He begins to charge toward the first of many heads.

  10. Like a stampede, a titan rushing down the length of the field, dividing whatever forces held fast in his wake. One hapless victim stuck to the front of a held wall of steel, burning up upon its ablaze surface. A solid bash sees that poor soldier scattered to ash in the flames, as a heavy footfall crushes the ground beneath the smiths feet. It trembles under his might, before he quickly shifts to glance at Kasumi. A rip of that wall up to his shoulder and a kneel down. The metallic clank of it slamming against his left shoulder. Once she utilizes that barricade to leap and disappear, Griswold rises and slams into another. It is knocked airborne and catches a frenzy of purple petals, a single overhead blow sends it spiraling into the floor. A harsh stomp and a crunch later, a clasp of his large meaty hand around its throat sees it heaved into a coming party to assail him. The man was a juggernaut, and with a shadow looking over his shoulder, taking advantage. He was right where he needed to be.

On the hilt a pommel is in place as a counterbalance, cast in steel and a round sphere embossed with the celtic knot of Tristram Steel.
  12. Lifting the scales one after another to his mouth, biting each between his teeth, proved they were strong enough to undergo the process. The smiths attentions immediately shift to the numerous blades produced by Chase and weighing them, each in his grasp. Two-handed, a bit ungainly and would need some sort of counterbalance to offset the weight. One was notable, marked runes bleed down the length and of stone. Interesting, still it looked broken, and would need to be repaired before worked. It seemed there was enough material here to finish it, make it whole.

    "These sure seem to be some failed smiths attempts at making use of blade fragments. Let's see if I cannot correct the mistake they had made. One good sword is greater than multiple bent ones." The gleaming scales cast into a ingot mold, as he moves to his familiar laying asleep on the floor. A soft tap of the beast sees it begin to drool magma into the container, a soft searing as the scales begin to become a liquid. It mixes and molds, a spectrum of color within the heat. He needed it as a paste, stone beget stone after all. And he'd need it to finish the job.

    To Another sword, he begins to heat it within the furnace. A soft amber glow from the heated steel, as he stokes the coals. A single shard placed upon an anvil, where he intended to work. Minutes pass as it blew into brighter and brighter shades, pulled with a pair of calipers. "You won’t like the process, but trust me." Griswold spoke before raising a hammer high. Slamming it down with one heavy stroke sees the blade snapped, like tearing off a band aid he'd do it before the boy would have the chance to feel the pain.

    A holy light begins to ooze out the jagged edge, and with a heavy mitt he forces it into the crystal. It burns his skin a bit, making a healing skill trigger and begin to rebuild the scorned skin. Such power was harmful when it wasn't contained. The gemstone laps it up, and begins to glow like a small lantern with the energy trapped within.

    This repeats to the next blade, and into another crystal the same is found a deep red hue that hums and another with that of a silver. Varied augmentations just simply trapped in those prisms, waiting for a host. To the final blade, he stirs the mixture of magma and brings the broken blade over. Taking the lingering fragments of blades before that still held to his anvil, heated again until melted. He begins to lather the edge with this rainbow-colored syrup, with leathered gloves containing meaty and grizzled hands. One by one, like a jigsaw puzzle, they are placed, and liquid stone is poured into the seams carefully.

    A few taps of a hammer, removing slag after slag and bringing it back into shape. "That'll hold." Griswold remarks, hefting the thing up with his right arm, strength coming in handy as he peered down its length with one closed eye. It was straight. To the grindstone, and sparks begin to light the shop up in flares of light. The forgemaster does his best to not remove too much from the blade, to keep it hearty against wear and the repair to hold. It was now a working and yet inert blade.

    Back to the anvil with a collection of 3 lingering crystals, smashed into powder in an instant. "Hold your breath! Its all or nothing!" Griswold barks, latching onto the glowing spheres with both hands. Veins in his arms become obvious as he strains, forcing these wisps together. The red tears bleed down his skin as the power fights against his manipulation. Like drops of water into a surface, they enter the blade with great distress.

    The blade flashes, and Griswold waits with worry. A single blue flash...

    Then another....

    Another...

    Then Orange... Demonic.

    Lifting the final version of the thing up, and a single swipe sees it pass through a mannequin wearing uncommon plate armor. "Like butter." Griswold smiles before clutching it around the mid mass of the blade, and extending the grip to its new owner.

  13. Each step was heavy and weighted, breaking a bit of the dust beneath his feet with each rendition. A mountain in motion, catching numerous upon his shield as he stampedes into the thick of it. Carving a path to the tower after having heard plenty from Freyd. They needed to reach it, and he'd cut that way through brimstone. The sand itself taking to glass under each heavy stroll, as the rest of the guild continued to cut down forces in droves. Sam offers one to the front of the moving smith, and it's caught and dragged along for the ride. Burning on its illuminated surface, being scorched into nothing but ash as he rips that massive wall out to one side. Like a detonation, mixing and melding with blue fire was some of his own as he stomps a heavy heel. "Give me your best shot!" The fist bellows, slamming a hammer against that shield, casting off remnants of heat with each strike.

  14. "A fox?" Griswold remarked, fiddling with the familiar, and it glows softly with orange light. "Hmm, perhaps." The smith remarks, heading up the stairs and rounding the corner. This was the guild vault within the halls, littered with an innumerable amount of crafts and consumables. Finding a rather heavy looking slab of orange metal, he spins the grip and rips clean a bit of linen from its edge. It looked more like a slab than anything. "Bell ringer, aptly named for the fact that it will ring your bell if you get hit with it." Griswold chuckled, dropping the heavy sword into the kid's hands. "Really, just mill around where you expect to find it." He ruffles black hair on the back of his dome, there wasn't some big secret. It was just as simple as finding and wrangling the thing, trying to convince it to be your partner. "Element? What suits you?"

  15. Staring through a field of enemies, heavy shield in hand after answering a call from the red swordsman. A bash sees one knocked to its ass with a shove, donned in full plate, the man was a mountain. "Looks as though we have our work cut out for us." His attention shifts to his girls, who were peeling up armor in their own right. His creations, that would protect from harm. Flames begin to dance along a spinning hammer in his grasp, a familiar at his side as Freyd manifests from one of his many spectres. "Doesn't strike me as the sort, and why bother cleaning up." Griswold stomps down on the one he'd incapacitated, causing it to explode into data with little resistance. His tone would have one believe, beneath that full face helmet of his, was a grin. "We are about to destroy this place." As the smith twists his neck, you hear a very painful sounding crunching. One step after another see's the titan begin to pick up speed, as that kindling starts to take on heat and make him glow.

  17. A twist of his head, not expecting to find Raidou of all people within his shop. He looks down to the blades sitting on his counter. Both of black metals. Neither seemed that sharp. "I'll see what I can do." Griswold barked as he reached down and claimed both. Into the furnace with them, allowing them both to glow hot as he moved the shards that Raidou had brought to the anvil.

  18. A heavy hammer stops, and Griswold moves toward the door where Hidden was waiting. Dabbing his neck with a white cloth, he looks down to the smaller blades that the girl brought in. Reaching down and clutching the first, the one with the gemstone blade. "Hmm." twisting it over, he underhand tosses it to Vulcan. The hound grasps it out of the air, and it begins to glow bright. "First we fix it, the gemstone needs to be heated if you want it not to break."

    To the next dagger he peels off the counter leaving the white rag wrapped around his neck, grabbing the materials she'd brought and in his palm it becomes a sort of glass looking prism. Into the furnace with a pair of green colored calipers. You can see the thing start to heat up, becoming a bright orange before distorting into a blackened shade. "Something in this, but nothing I can't handle."

    The smith had forged a few of these before now, and was becoming more accustomed to the process. The small prism sits upon the gilded anvil, and he plucks the one ablaze from the furnace. One solid blow sees the blade shatter, and the miasmic like power flows out before being sucked into the item the Hidden had brought. A wave of his hand sees Vulcan approach his side, and reaching down, he pulls out Kura Yu Yami. The edge of it glowing bright purple, and drawing it against a grindstone, he begins to polish down and cut the blade to remove the slight hairlines that had appeared. The small fish scale he turns and tosses into an ingot mold, taking some pitch from the barrel used for tempering and pouring it on top. The super heated edge of amethyst extracted from its handle and still white-hot enters this pool.

    "Need to have it soak into those cracks and solidify it. Unless you want it to break."

    To the anvil, he shapes the handle and preps it for the new edge. The oil itself begins to disappear, soaking into that weapon like a sponge. Calipers to it once most was gone, he brings it to the anvil. Clutching on to some ethereal tether that lingered from it like a thread, he pulls that string and winds it out into the same container as the first. A now mundane and powerless Kura Yu Yami, as the forces in that gem mix and twist. They were fighting and picking what they would become. A single hammer blow sees the crystal shattered, bits of that prism spray off in all directions. A glowing sphere meets a meaty hand that grabs it out of the air. Griswold's muscles bulge as if under intense weight. Like a clump of metal, he places it atop the empty edge. The hammer blows start to ring, one after another, as the smith forces the whirling powers into the mundane weapon.

    Sparks, and almost waves of force bleed from the anvil like unseen waves of water. The sphere is sucked up, disappearing into the super heated dagger. Picking it up with those pliers, he dunks it into oil and raises it, with steam pouring off. "Good." the only response, a hound looking up greedily toward the thing it was just chewing on. Once cooled, it finds its handle, bolted into place with a few heavy twists. A soft brand placed into it, before it finds a grindstone once more. It begins to glow blue, fades and then glows in a deep orange like the fires of his furnace. "Demonic. It's done." twisting the thing over and grabbing it by the point. Heaving it with every ounce of force he could muster, it sheers clean through a mannequin meant to hold in construction armor. A detonation of energy as the thing is evaporated. The dagger stuck up to its hilt in the wall behind it, hissing as a purple like steam fizzles out of the hole it had made. To it, he pulls it free and returns it to a small scabbard. Handing it to Hidden, he'd proven his abilities as a smith.

  19. "He eats a lot." Griswold chuckles, looking down to the glowing hound, offering it a solid slap like an open hand against concrete. "Well, finding something like this comes down to what you're looking for. I found him." spoken as he uses an extended thumb to point at Vulcan. "On floor 9, about halfway up Mount Stygian." The smith was more than willing to join Fives on his endeavor, he was becoming accustomed to this stuff rather quickly. Tapping his hands together to remove the bit of charcoal that was still latent on his palms. "So any ideas?" Griswold asked the lad, curious if he had a preference. Fiddling open a menu that he still wasn't proficient at operating, he peels out bits of plate armor and begins to adorn them one after another, placing the other pieces on top of the guild hall table, a large suit of pure cobalt.

  20. A heavy looking smith moving from the guild vault, having placed some heavy armor for a player who needed it. Hearing a voice from the entry, Griswold swivels just a bit to eye around the corner. "Aye boy, been a bit." he remarked with a shift of his right shoulder seeing a break somewhere in it. That large looking hound at his side, glowing like a lantern, moving for the kid and taking a few deep huffs like a dog in a rabbit hole. "That there's Vulcan. Don't get in his business." The smith remarks to the hound, trying to stop that habit of the flame kin shoving its nose in someone's butt. A couple of weighted steps down the guild halls case, into the general room with that huge ass table of redwood. There was something that Griswold felt like he was supposed to do, recalling something or another that was just on the limit of his memory. But he couldn't quite place what it was.
