The rule allowing people to jump in when you're near death wasn't in effect when Ash died ;-;

Under the circumstances, I'd say that Ash (your previous character I believe so) might have taken the final hit before anyone have the chance to jump in and rescue him. I could be wrong, though.

No, I left a massive gap between my second last and last rolls because I was afraid, somebody could have joined in then.
I was even asking if someone could jump in and save me but apparently the answer was no, so I just rolled and was upset by the result.
