  1. Upon entering the shop, Helios stepped up to the counter. Behind it was a blonde haired man whom he recognized quite well. The noirette placed a fair sized sack and a rare tier curved sword in front of the shop owner. "For you, Oikawa, fourty-four thousand, five hundred and eighty nine col. Hold onto that sword for me. Thank you for the motivation and training you put me through back when I first met you on the third floor. I appreciate it. Now, go crazy with that money." He chuckled, stepping away from the blonde and exiting the shop for the last time. "Goodbye." He said as he turned to the man, before closing the door behind him.

  2. Helios stepped up to the edge of the seventeenth floor. Behind him was a fair sized plain with a range of mountains and the safezone of Spartaia in the distance. Underneath him was... well, from what he could tell, nothing. Just an empty void that would soon consume him, just as it did to many others. The noirette took a seat in the grass for a moment and stuck his black and green curved sword into the virtual dirt next to him. Showing off his dark, raven-coloured hair, the swordsman took off his hat, hanging it carefully off of the blade's hilt. Then, he stood back up and pulled open his GUI. He wasn't going to leave SAO behind without sending a final message to everyone he knew. The PM was quickly written and sent to every player who was on his "Friends List". All that was said was, "It was fun while it lasted. I wish you all luck in finishing this game. Adios."

The player thought about his time in Aincrad. Had any of it really been worth leaving behind his old life? His mind travelled back to the beginning of Sword Art Online. Helios remembered a blonde dual-wielder, who at the time only used one blade, who had invited him to join a guild that would eventually become the strongest in Aincrad. Maybe that was the reason he was removed from the guild. Back then he was nothing, he was barely even able to challenge a boar or two and exit alive. It wasn't a surprise that he wasn't needed in the group of powerful players.

Then his thoughts shifted to another time, not long after he had left Azure. Another blonde man, Oikawa, had asked him to accompany him on the third floor. He had said Helios would be learning how to become a blacksmith. Man, was that a lie. It turns out he was wanted for a secret project that to this day he had no knowledge of. The dark-haired male chuckled at the thought of having trouble killing a small, green dragon on the third floor. Now, it wouldn't have lasted long at all if he were to retake that challenge. For some reason, Helios continued to be curious about the blonde's "project". Although they had spoken countless times afterwards, the rapier-wielding man had never spoken about it again.

Months after that he had been recruited to join the Velvet Room with Jomei and Piera. Immediately, he accepted their request to join them as a council member. Unfortunately, that guild did not live long. At some point along the lines, Helios had been removed from the council and reduced to a regular member of the guild. Eventually he had simply abandoned the players, and he wasn't the only one. Lowenthal, the leader of the Velvet Room, had ended up leaving Jomei to lead the guild while he joined the Azure Brigade. One of Helios' biggest mistakes was not coming back to help his ginger friend save the guild, which he had thought seemed promising. There was a time when Jomei and the raven-haired man had spoken underneath the branches of the eighth floor. The man had asked Helios to rejoin their old guild. If only he had said yes.

Then, all of the sudden, Zelrius was dead, along with Ssendom, another member of the Azure Brigade. Tristan Delaney had went off the grid and Lowenthal decided to leave the frontlines with Shizuka. Helios didn't understand why Oikawa of all people would have killed the dual-wielding swordsman. Of course, knowing the blonde's reasons wouldn't change anything. Zel would still be dead. It wasn't long after that Manta, a woman who had accompanied him on his Breaking the Unbreakable quest, and Ebony, a healer on the frontlines, had been killed by Calrex's wife, Teayre. Helios did not think about any of this often. Not many spoke to him about it anymore, so he had pushed it out of his brain, much like his identity outside of Sword Art Online.

He continued on with his thoughts. All of the quests he had taken, both alone and with friends. The temple on the fourth floor where he had fought alongside Rain. The time he had met Shizuka, a pink-haired woman, on the sixth floor. His meeting with Oikawa and Hunie on this very floor. His long conversation with Teselmar about life in Aincrad. Rusty, the brunette he had taken interest in so long ago. The ice cream he had shared with Kasier, a friendly, very innocent woman. His mind wandered on and on until eventually, it simply stopped.

He asked himself again. Was any of this really worth it? He had left behind all of his family, all of his friends. His entire life was gone. It had been gone the very second he placed the NerveGear on his head and said those two fateful words. "Link Start." He whispered to himself once again. Then and there he had an answer. Yes it was worth it. Sure, he had left behind his old life, but he made a new one here in Aincrad. He met new friends and considered them to be like a family to him. All of them fought against the game for an exit, but in the end, did they really need one? They had everything they ever needed here in SAO.

And now that I am leaving this world for good, this is my opinion. Although you are hated for what you developed, Kayaba, in the end, I believe you are truly a genious.

Helios took his final breath as he stood up and smiled. At the end of the day, this game was not any more cruel than the real world was. He hoped more people would eventually realize this. And with that, he stepped off of the map, falling for a moment before his vision was gone. All that was left was a black screen and three red words.

    YOU ARE DEAD

  3. The brunette player was starting to annoy Helios. If he was only occasionally flirting with the blonde, he wouldn't have minded. However, it felt like every word the escaped the man's mouth was directed towards the girl. The curved-sword user couldn't wait until the quest was finished. The girl attempted to attack the object once again, however she unfortunately wasn't able to land a successful blow.

Helios stepped forward, smiling quietly at the woman as he passed her. He let out a strong punch into the boulder, but since he had nothing to amplify his damage, it wasn't impacted much.

  4. Helios stepped out into the snow that the fourth floor had to offer. After receiving the message from Jomei, he decided he'd show up and discover what the "unfinished business" the ginger spoke of was. The dark-haired swordsman followed the street forward until he arrived at the city's center. "Jomei. It's been a while." He smiled, walking forward to greet the man. The rapier-wielding player was clearly a lot stronger than the young noirette. Nearly twenty levels higher as well. "So," Helios started, "I heard you were living in a house on a beach now. What brings you to somewhere as cold as Floor Four?"

The man was unsure of why his friend had called him here, but he did have an idea and wanted to find out if his assumption was correct. Helios slid his hands into the pockets of his pants. "By 'unfinished business' I suppose you mean a duel? You're probably aware of our strength difference, but that won't stop me from accepting your request, if I am right."

Helios had left the area where Kotori had saved him. He'd have to remember to thank her for that again in the future. Keeping his cape closely wrapped around him, to make sure he stayed a bit warm, he wandered the forests of the fourth floor. The young man was intent on finding himself some materials. Scavenging the ground, he came across a small, red crystal. It seemed to be glowing a bit as well, which caught the black and green swordsman's attention. It sat patiently on a cliff-side just waiting for Helios to step forward and grab it. As he stepped down on the snowy cliff, he heard the ground shift underneath his feet. "Uh oh." he muttered before it broke apart from the rest of the rock, sending him tumbling down the large hill with a small avalanche following behind. Luckily, Helios was able to find his balance and continue to slide down the rocky path. He saw the crystal-like object falling ahead of him and he was eager to obtain it. After taking a deep breath, the player decided to jump for it. He leaped, just as he realized there was another ledge. Both him and the gem fell downwards. He was nearly able to reach it when he noticed the woman walking in the direction where he was about to land. Then, he hit the ground with a thud. The crystal landed right after him, shattering as it hit the ground. "I just wanted the gem..."

  6. With a chuckle, Helios raised his curved sword. "Yeah, let's finish this quickly." He replied, with a grin. Suddenly, he felt the sand shift from beneath his feet. Then, a large object shot out of the sand from right under the boy. The shark had Helios' leg in it's powerful jaws. Unfortunately, it was moving to quickly for the boy to land a hit on it. As it was falling back into the sand it flung Helios to the side, letting him out of his large teeth. The dark-haired swordsman landed back on his feet and balanced himself once again. He wasn't ready for the shark to attack so quickly. The player watched carefully for another shift around him. That's how he'd know when and where to strike.

Helios chuckled. "Oh well. It's just too high up there. Maybe another time we'll have better chances." The male sighed, turning his attention to the girl, who was already on her feet again. "I guess you need to head back to your shop. I'll see you around then." He smiled before turning around and strolling back out into the fields, where he enjoyed relaxing.

  8. Deciding he'd allow the man to fight for himself, Helios waved goodbye as he walked away. He thought it would be a good time to collect a few materials, since he hadn't done so in a while and he had a bit more time before it got dark. The noirette stepped towards a tree, which had a bright, red apple sitting in it's branches. He was about to begin to climb up the trunk of the tree when he heard a thump coming from the other side. There sat a dark-haired young woman, who had fallen out of the tree. "Oh, Kasier! You alright?" Helios asked the girl, reaching out to help her stand.

"I guess you were also trying to get that apple? I was going to get it for myself, but since you have a shop, I wouldn't mind giving it to you." he chuckled, attempting to climb up the tree. Making it up the tree was easy. However, maneuvering around to reach the apple proved to be difficult, because of the weak branches. He was almost able to touch the round fruit, but he could feel the branch beginning to crack. Then, it snapped in half, causing the boy to fall to the ground with it.

  9. Helios turned away from the two players, who had begun to walk away from each other, and continued onward towards the safezone. After Zelrius stole the brown-haired man's kill, it seemed he had become a bit annoyed, causing him to storm off. Zelrius left as well, without a word or anything. Just his arrogant grin plastered to his face as he left the area quietly. The noirette wasn't sure his friend had come in to save him, or simply take the kill. It was most likely a bit of both. Helios could see the blonde's flaws were nearly endless, however he believed the man had good intentions. He just hoped that his cocky attitude didn't get him killed in the future. He was a powerful ally to have and someone he was glad Helios was glad he knew.

  10. Helios simply chuckled and watched as the young, brown haired kid ran out of the cafe, towards the fields. I hope he'll be alright on his own out there. He sighed, taking the last sip of his drink. Then, he noticed a woman sit down beside him. "Oh, Kasier. It is a pretty great day." He smiled, happy to see the girl. She asked who the kid who had been sitting with him was. "Oh, him? That was Comet, a poor kid who's trapped in here. Apparently the girl he came with is missing." Helios replied, leaning back into his chair. "So, how's the shop coming along? I assume you're an expert cook now?"

"Anyway, what if you been up to since I last saw you? Other than opening up your cafe, of course." He chuckled, smiling to the NPC waitress before she left. Helios looked over the dark-haired girl's outfit. She still had her starter equipment, which didn't come as much of a shock. There were quests that he knew of that could get her armor and a weapon without having to pay anything. He wondered if she planned on taking them. They weren't too challenging, although she was a low level. Maybe she could use some assistance with them.
