  1. Lowenthal entered the fray, late as usual. The last minute indecisiveness ruining his timing yet again. When he did arrive, he waved tot he people who were already there. "Alright, I'm here. Where we standing?" He asked to @Macradon, another member of the Knights of the Blood Oath. He was the mind behind the boss fights, while Lowe was behind, everything else that didn't require Heathcliff. Lowenthal rubbed the back of his head. "Well, let's get this party started." Lowenthal said, cracking his neck and knuckles. He was excited for this boss fight, more excited to see what it actually was more than fighting it. All he had was 'dog thing, that was kinda green goop covering it.' It sounded cool at least. Lowenthal also saw @Zandra. He apprioached the woman, and spoke. "I'm sure you get a lot of flak at around this time for potions. But I'm looking for another damage potion if at all possible." He asked his former guild member.

  2. Lowenthal nodded. "Yeah, Hikoru and I go back quite a bit. How's he holding up by the way?" He asked, knowing that the last time he had seen Hikoru, he was sporting the orange cursor of a player killer. "And as for Mac, he's holding up fine. Trying to balance guild work, and boss preparation can be a stressful thing. But he handles it well." Lowenthal explained, answering @Birdie's question.

And as for the desert heat, Lowenthal could shrug it a bit more. "For you? I can bear this heat a bit longer. At least until we find our finned-friend." He said, placing a hand over his eyes to shield them from the sun's rays. Heat waves twisted the landscape, making all of it a blurred mess. "Gah, I can't see a thing. How about you?" Lowenthal said, still trying to scan the horizon.

    LD: 5

  3. Lowenthal laughed. "Let him, I'll beat that shark any day!" He declared, enjoying @Birdie's company. It wasn't often that Lowenthal enjoyed walking the desert for once. And Kayaba could go to hell for all he cared. If Kayaba was watching them then good for him. "Wonder what the police are doing right now? Like, are they looking for him? And if they find him, will they demand to have him release us?" Lowenthal thought aloued. "Kayaba probably has a dead man's switch, where if he doesn't do something in an alotted time period, it'll lock us in here indefinitely or just wipe out a good chunk of players." And somehow, even in the mass desert, Lowenthal gave himself a chill. "Sheesh, that's a bit spooky." He said, wanting to change the subject now.

"Celestial Ascendants, huh?" Lowenthal said, repeating the name and committing it to memory. "Can't say I've heard of them. But Hikoru I have. I actually met him when he was a lower level. Kinda helped him grow up a bit, gave him his current unique skill and the title of 'Master of Shadows'." Lowenthal said, reminiscing a bit of his old pupil. "But you'd be correct. I'm currently Vice-Commander of Knights of the Blood Oath." He said proudly. Although he was made that only recently, he still respected the position none the less. He then wiped the sweat from his brow. "That boss coming up anytime soon? Heat's starting to get to me a bit." Lowenthal said, not liking the dry heat.

  4. Lowenthal laughed. "Nawh, he probably just relaxes all day and lets his interns do all the work for him. Probably says that he comes up with all the ideas too. Hell, I bet he even didnt make this game. He probably just threw a bunch of money at it and then said its his." Lowenthal said to @Birdie. She then mentioned the probability of new quests. "Yeah, thats something Ive noticed. That sometimes new quests open up on lower floors after a new one has been unlocked. Those are kinda cool." He said, meaning the newer elf and treant quest.

Lowebthal rubbed his neck again, before hesitantly speaking. "I actually haven't given it to her yet." He admitted. He hadnt seen Shizuka in days. He didnt know why he was avoiding her, but he was. "And its not that nosy. An artist always wants to have thier work crtiqued. I know I do." Lowenthal said laughing.

He stopped laughing to then ask Birdie a question. "So, what guild are you in? I don't reconize that insigna." Lowenthal said, trying to make out its details.

(Forgive me pls, phone post whilst at work)

  5. Lowenthal strecthed his arms behind his head as the two walked. His white boots shifting the sands as he did, leaving behind a distinctive trail behind him. He could feel the heat from the su n beat down upon him, but thankfully his white clothing made it a bit more bearable. "I haven't been up to much." The sandy haired warrior said to @Birdie. "I mean, they're hasn't been much to do. Sure's there's quests to do, or materials to farm. I just haven't got the patience nor the willpower to keep doing repetitive things over and over again." He admitted. "There's a thought. What if Kayaba was watching our every move? How bored he must be. I mean, I get bored playing the damn game from time to time. Imagine what it's like watching people play it." Lowenthal jested.

  6. Lowenthal rubbed the back of his neck. "It's nothing, really." He said, trying to be humble about the whole thing. He couldn't help but smile along with the woman. Her smile made him smile, and helping her was a nice feeling. He couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment as he saw that @Birdie was already in a guild. She had promise, and if she showed this much determination with a small quest, then she'd definitely make a great front liner. "El Perdido, eh?" He mused. "Doesn't ring any bells, I don't think I've been on this quest before. Odd." He said, looking at the detail sof the quest. "Well, I'll let you lead the way. Ladies first." Lowenthal said, chuckling slightly.

  7. Lowenthal shuddered, remembering his job back in the real world. "Yeah, I can see why that's a tad bit, exhausting." He said, agreeing with the woman. She then asked him if he could spare the time to assist her with the boss. Lowenthal scratched his head in a bit of thought. He did want to get home, but to what? A woman who barely spoke to him anymore. He let out a sigh, and gave a smile. "I'm in no hurry @Birdie. I can give ya' a hand. What's a shark boss gonna do against a front liner?" He asked, laughing. He opened his menu and sent the woman a request to join her party. That way he could keep a better track of her health bar, in case things got out of hand.

  8. Lowenthal rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, they're a few field bosses that are like that. I think the Banshee on floor ten still packs a whollop." Lowenthal said, agreeing with Birdies view on the Sand Shark's stats. "And no actually, I was just passing by. Was on my way home to floor eleven, and decided to pick up a few things along the way." He said, lightly kicking the sand at his feet. He was about to ask Birdie what she was doing on the fifth floor as well, before he put two and two together. "So, @Birdie." Lowenthal said, repeating the name into his mind. "What brings you out adventuring? It's not to often a shopkeep comes out of thier shop, let alone all the way up to the fifth floor." He asked.

  9. Lowenthal pocketed the small bag of materials, a small consolation of walking home rather than simply teleporting there. The boss meetings had concluded and it was just a matter of time before the raid teams were set up, and he'd go out to the front lines and continue the fighting. He was now on the fifth floor, one of his least favorite floors seeing as it was a massive desert. He ran his hand through his hair, and opened his menu to see if there was anything he could do on the floor before he left. His eyes caught a message on the player bounty board, seeking help with a field boss. He figured it couldn't be that bad, and decided to at the least check it out. In Armadillo Lowenthal looked for the person with blue hair, half expecting it be Calrex. But when he did notice the blue fluff, he called out.

@Birdie?" Lowenthal asked aloud. He had met the teen in her shop the day before, where he had purchased his rings. "You looking for help with the Sand Shark?" Lowenthal asked, inquisitively. He was more than happy then help the woman if she needed it. And Lowenthal couldn't remember if he had fought the sand shark before or not, but if it was on the fifth floor, it couldn't be all that bad.

  10. Lowenthal slid into the part. Rumour of a combat and dance tournament. Lowenthal had little interest in the fights, but the dancing! Now that was something he could sink his teeth into. He had already gotten a song picked out from a performer, and a new set of clothing. As Lowenthal slid into place, he lost his footing and tumbeled over. "Damn shoes, gotta get used to them." Lowenthal wasn't wearing his normal combat gear this time, he had gone ahead and made himself a nice set of dancing gear just for the event. Standing up, and brushing the dust from his jacket he could see many faces that he recognized, and some he couldn't. He placed his hand behind his head and took a quick walk around, a large smile beaming across his face.

  12. Lowenthal looked at the sign. "Actually, now that I think about it." He said, taking the form and writing what he was wanting. "I'm gonna need a ring, or a necklace to increase my accuracy. Three slots of it should be fine. And a vanity ring, but nothing just normal. I'll give you, ten materials for the pair." He said, looking up at the girl. "But it needs to be marvelous. I need it to represent something, but I don't have the word for it." Lowenthal said, before rubbing the back of his head. "I mean, I probably sound like an idiot right now. But it's for this girl." Lowenthal said, trying to explain his ramblings before sliding over the order form back to the woman behind her. "By the way, I'm Lowenthal. Vice-Commander of the Knights of the Blood Oath. It's a pleasure to meet you." Lowenthal said, sending the trade request her way.

  13. Lowenthal nodded. "Makes sense. With tank like Calrex walking about. It's hard to focus on that role." Lowenthal said. It was like trying to be a DPS when Zelrius was still alive. But this was the first time that lowenthal heard of this sort of, bruiser build. Not that long afterwards, the elevator landed on the forest floor. "We best be quick, otherwise the sun'll set and we'll be without light." Lowenthal said, looking up. The trees covered up most of the sky, and it restricted most of the light down here. They would mostly find mushrooms, damp areas, and encounter mostly nocturnal or ambush predators. That is, if his science classes taught him anything of note. "I'll let you take point. I'll follow and cover our rear flank." Lowenthal said, having his weapon at the ready.

  14. Lowenthal stood in front of a small shop that had recently opened. Lowenthal looked at the shop, enjoying it's certain, quaintness. "Bluebird Workshop? Not so much as a title, but it's something." Lowenthal said, much preferring the shop titles that were humorous in nature. Upon entering, the door made a chime noise singling his entry. Looking down, he could see that gears and cogs littered the floor. Along with crumbeled scraps of paper, and other miscleanious things. There he saw a woman working, which he could only assume was the owner. Blue hair, like Calrex, but at least this one was cuter than Calrex. Lowenthal gave a polite wave. "Hey, I take it you're the owner?" Lowenthal asked aloud. "I've got an order I'd like to place. I need something that I can wear to boost my accuracy stat." Lowenthal asked. "I can pay you in materials, or Col. Whichever you need." Lowenthal said again, opening his menu and preparing to start the trade.

  15. Lowenthal nodded. "Makes sense to check. And if they did remain unchanged, I could use the SP." Lowenthal said, closing his window. Lowenthal looked at the party window and looked at Hirru's health bar. "Say, what build are you again? I'm looking over at your stats, and it seems to be a pseudo-tank of sorts." Lowenthal said. He was going for a glass cannon build, where he put himself at risk with low armor and low mitigation, but made up for it with strong and consistent damage. Lowenthal boarded the elevator and waited for Hirru to board himself, before kicking the lever to send it downwards. Lowenthal had also yet to have been on this quest, but it was something new and that was about all he needed. He was growing bored with the same routine every day. Day in and day out it was the same old same old. Perhaps Hirru, could alleviate his boredom. "So, what do we have to do? Kill a few things, spawn a bigger thing, then kill that thing?" Lowenthal asked, as he gave a rough explanation of 'quests' in SAO.

  16. Lowenthal stared at the door in anticipation, awaiting the moment when it would burst down and whatever it was behind would come charging at them. But that moment never came. The pounding stopped, the room growing eerily quiet. Only Hikoru's heavy breathing emanated noise, which echoed through the room. Then Lowe could hear it, he shuffle behind the door, and he braced himself. The door fell under the beasts strength finally, and caved in. One door was thrown to the ground, the other now busted beyond use. Lowenthal's eyes grew wide as he stared at the faceless monster in front of him. As disturbing as it was, it was just a monster. Jomei took point, and quickly used his rapier to do a decent amount of damage to it. The monster's health bar dipping was a breath of fresh air, if it bleeds, then they could kill it. Hikoru's attack was a surprise. Not that Hikoru gathered the courage to attack, but that it was such a low damage compared to Jomei's. "Hikoru! Don't hold back!" Lowenthal called out to him, before rushing forward himself. Lowenthal had his dagger in his hand, and long the way he crushed the damage potion he had stored away. A nice trade from when he made Ariel and Hikorus wedding garments. The beast moved suddenly, and lifted one of it's appendages at him. The base split into two, revealing a mouth. Lowenthal reacted, and rolled underneath it's attack, and activated his charge ability. His sword art cut into the monster several times, before lowenthal took a step back. "Dammit! It's still standing!?" Lowenthal looked at his weapon, unsure of what happened. He took every precaution. He even popped a crystal, but why was his damage still behind that of Jomei's? Was the DPS side of things nerfed again by the system, or was it something else? He gritted his teeth in frustration. "Whatever, it's on it's last leg! Let's finish it!" Lowenthal said, focusing back on the matter at hand.

  17. Lowenthal threw a bedframe from the room he was in. "Screw this!" Lowenthal shouted as he continued to look around, his eyes scanning for something, anything. He turned as the door was struck again, the door now sporting a large dent. "Well, seems like we're about to get a bit of company. We best be ready." Lowenthal said, forging searching for the key. He stood in the hallway, his kunai at the ready. "Hikoru, get in a room. Enter stealth, hit it when you can. Jomei, stand with me and be prepard to take some hits if it hits me to hard." Lowenthal said, a bead of sweat appering on his head. To e honost with himself, he didn't even try to find the key. He wanted to know what was behind that door, whatever it was it made him curious, and he wanted to see it.

  18. Lowenthal scratched the back of his head. "That thought, is kind of worrisome. But I'm sure the only person who could do just that, would be Kayaba. And if he hasn't activated it yet, then I doubt he will." Lowenthal said, shrugging his shoulders.

Lowenthal pushed the thought of pain being the only thing he could feel to the back of his mind as he tried to focus on combat. As long as his attacks made contact, he could conserve energy. Lowenthal dashed forward, his kunai digging into one of the Nepents. It fell quickly, turning into crystals. Lowenthal could feel it this time. This time, he'd definitely get it done. He'd get that damn variant Nepent to drop what they'd need, just like he said.

  19. Lowenthal reached up and touched his cheek. "Oh, is there a mark? Didn't think it hit hard enough to leave one." Lowenthal laughed out. "And no, it doesn't hurt. In SAO there is no pain, more like a pressure or sensation alerting you that you've been hit or taken some damage." Lowenthal said, trying to explain it all. "And as for the break, you can have one if you'd like. I'm gonna get this quest done." Lowenthal said, spinning his kunai on one finger. "I mean, what kind of dashing hero would I be if I quit in the face difficulty? A true hero stands tall. He's stout and brave, never giving in to the pressures around him." Lowenthal said, striking a pose. "Besides, here I was thinking I was wasting your time." Lowenthal said, chuckling. "Well, back to the grind stone I guess." Lowenthal said, taking a few steps foreward to generate more Nepents.

  20. Lowenthal tried to keep his blade light, but it was all for naught. His knife entered the variant, and it soon exploded into blue crystals. And with no loot window approaching, Lowenthal again feared the worst. He had not received the drop needed to complete the quest. Maybe it was because he vastly outleveled the mobs here, or that he's already completed the quest before. "Seriously? Again with the no drops?" Lowenthal said, kicking the dirt where the variant was. "And I was trying to hold back too, sheesh." Lowenthal admitted, really not wanting to spend another couple of hours trying to complete the quest. "Are you sure that you need this quest completed?" Lowenthal asked, rubbing the back of his head.

  21. Lowenthal turned, and walked over to Esther. "You sure about that? Cause, you sound kinda hesitant." Lowenthal said, prodding at the subject. He wondered what was on the woman's mind. If only for a brief moment, as he felt a pressure on the side of his head. Lowenthal was thrown aside, as a sticky vine connected with the side of his head. The variant nepent spawn hadn't changed, and the pair had rarely moved since the last one. The luck of it all. The Nepent screeched over Esther, ready to claim it's prize. It raised one of it's tentacles, and began to swing.

"Oh no you don't!" Lowenthal said, pressing his dagger into the side of the variant as he threw his body into it interrupting it's attack on Esther and pushing it aside. Lowenthal removed his dagger, and quickly stepped back retreating from the now flailing Nepent varaint. A large red grid pattern was visable across the left side of Lowenthal's face, the obvious sign of damage. "What is that now, three times I've come to your rescure?" Lowenthal joked. "You make quite the damsel, I dare say." He jested further before readying himself. His first attack didn't kill it in one go, but it's attack ignored all of his mitigation. Quite the variant indeed.

  22. Lowenthal buried his face in his hand, trying to get the thoughts out of his head. Lowenthal rubbed his face, trying to concentrate on the matter at hand. Which had to be the Nepent in front of him. The single, level one, nepent. That had absolutely nothing to do with vague surprises, or promises, or nurse outfits. "Oh dammit!" Lowenthal exclaimed aloud as he wildly swung at the Nepent.

Lowenthal's desperate swing managed to his it's low leveled target. Lowenthal chuckled as it dissipated into blue crystals. The color returning to his face as he calmed down. He stood up straight, and straightened his jacket with his free hand. "Alright, that's all four of them. Another variant should've spawned close by. I'm gonna take a quick look, you alright by yourself?" Lowenthal asked aloud, calling out to Esther.

  23. Lowenthal waved at Mac. "Don't worry about the official meeting, I'll go. Besides, I was invited it seems." Lowenthal said, rummaging through his messages. "I'll go as a representative for the Knights of the Blood Oath, discuss what we discussed here, and relay information back. And hopefully avoid Opal and any other undesirables if I can." Lowenthal said, standing up from the table. Perhaps he could get some more info out of whomever else saw the boss. He needed a bit more than 'wolf demon monster, that had green stuffs.' He sighed, and walked away. "Anyhow, which ever way you spin it. This sounds like a poison boss so stock up on Antidoes while we can. And be sure to give Zandra a break once in a while, poor girl could use a vacation." Lowenthal said, now leaving.

    -lowenthal has exited the thread.-

  24. Lowenthal rubbed the back of his head, as he tried to regain his calm. He couldn't fight well when he wasn't in control of his emotions. He proved that to himself time and time again by picking fights with his friends. Well, Jomei became a friend after the whole fiasco with Ahti, and Mari was still a crap shoot. His mind broke free, and he turned his head as Esther called for him. Lowenthal whipped his head around, thinking Esther was being attacked or threated by an animal, but she merely wanted to get his attention. "A surprise? Can't wait." Lowenthal shouted back, as he went back to fighting.

The Nepents came again, only this time Lowenthal attacked. A nepent fell to the ground, as the other never made it past Lowe. It erupted into crystals behind him, as his face turned a beet red. 'Surprise, wait. What? What kind of surprise?' Lowenthal thought to himself, as his mind flew to places it shouldn't have been.
