  1. The initial clash had ensued. Both the Bandit and Lowenthal had missed their initial attacks, and both parties were just waiting for the other to make the first move. The two stood silently, staring at each other. Finally, the bandit made his first move, he lunged forward his dagger extended. Lowenthal sidestepped the basic attack easily, and activated his sword art in response. The sword art 'Rapid Bite', allowed Lowe's dagger to dig itself into the bandit twice. On top of the sword art damage, Lowenthal activated 'Charge' adding even more damage to his own output. More then enough damage was dealt in a short time to kill the bandit, reducing him to nothing more then a small Col reward to fill his purse. Lowenthal sighed, as the Col entered his inventory. 'Now I remember why I stopped adventuring' Lowenthal thought to himself. Lowenthal peered over his shoulder, as he prepared himself to sneak past the rest of the thieves.

I'm only going to make one of this - probably - and will eventually make a cure. :p

Side note: I'm waiting on mack and life's thoughts and stuff on the good item so go ahead and skip over that one. :)

    All approved.

Note: On the good item, I'm completely fine with it just given players a mark of some kind. Kind of like, a tattoo system. If a GM @Mack / @Life have anything different about it to say, then they can. But otherwise, it's approved.

Lowenthal crouched down and began to move along the sand. Hikoru had snuck around the first guard. Good, absolutely flawless. Now it was Lowe's turn to sneak past. There was a small crate, and Lowe took the chance. Lowe pressed himself against the crate. Lowe placed his hand on top of the crate and peered around to the side, to get a better view of the area. Then, he felt something touch his hand. Looking up, a bandit had sat upon the box, on top of his fingers. The Bandit had felt his fingers, and turned quickly. Lowenthal acted quickly, and drew his dagger.

BD: 3 (really hate it now)
    CD: 10 (+2 Energy)

Lowenthal grabbed the bandit and quickly pulled him away before he could alert the other bandits. '[censored], my luck today.' Lowenthal thought to himself, as he gritted his teeth and tried to kill the bandit in one fell swoop. The Bandit was quick, as Lowenthal missed his attack. Lowenthal looked behind him and noticed that the other bandits didn't hear the quick kerfuffle.

  5. Lowenthal nodded as Hikoru said that stealth was going to be used. Lowenthal broke away from Hikoru, using his own stealth skill to move along the sands. Ahead, he saw a singular campfire, around it were four shapes. Presumbably the bandits or thieves in question. 'So, what's his names brother is being held captive by them somewhere.' Lowenthal thought to himself. Lowe let out a quiet groan as he wished his eyes were better. He heard that there was a mod that would let him track targets, but he needed a skill grandmastered at five ranks to even be able to use it. Instead, Lowe used his intuition and crawled along the sands as he got into position. Looking up, he could see Hikoru's name tag in the distance between him and the bandits. Lowenthal watched Hikoru, waiting him to make the first move, before he acted himself.

    SR: 16

  6. @Opal In the past bosses have (And some current field bosses) Ignore the Hate mechanic. Which would make the skill a bit more usable in PvE, but otherwise not so worthwhile. It is more of a team PvP skill.

@Seul In a perfect world, this skill would negate ALL damage done to another player. Which would mean, with an AoE the person defending would take the AoE hit, twice. (owie) And what sort of name would you suggest? Kinda rude to say the name is bad, then not leave a suggestion. (suggested the name and is a slight bit tilted =P )

@Baldur Thank you for agreeing with me. ^-^ The way I suggested was meant for target player, but I could've worded it a tad bit differently.

@Husky I would suggest a singular CD roll for both Mobs and Players. So that the player with the skill, doesn't have to copy-paste the rules for the skill every single thread, easy memorization, and less confusion.

  7. Lowenthal stepped into the tavern, late as ever. Several people had already left, as he passed them on his mad scramble to make it here. Panting he opened the door, and was met with familiar faces, and new. "Hey, everyone. Made it." The sandy haired fighter said between his deep breaths. Lowenthal got himself a drink, and took note of the people present. Takao, Opal, Mack, Hikoru, and Ariel were amoung the more notable ones. He scanned the room again, and looked into his drink. He knew it was true, but he still double checked. He couldn't see Zelrius or Ssendom at all. They, really were gone. Zelrius and Lowe never really spoke or hung out. But Ssendom was a close friend, someone he trusted his life with on several occasions. Someone he'd been on double dates with. Even after Meokka left Dom, and what's his name left Lowe, they still hung out. Lowenthal threw back the last of his drink, as he reconciled.

"Alright, what did I miss? Everyone seems so," Lowenthal said, scouring the room. "So tense. It's like you're all scared of being murdered or something." Lowenthal said, half-jokingly. He knew that another two players died in the last boss raid, and not by the bosses hands. Player killing on the front lines. If you had a target who frequented there, it wasn't a half bad idea. Everyone would be to pre-occupied by the mobs and the boss to pay attention to you. The boss could soften up your target, allowing you to get the finishing blow in. Only flaw he could see is trying to avoid the bosses attacks, the mobs attacks, and getting out of the arena itself. Lowenthal looked to Takao. "You find the boss again?" Lowenthal asked.

  8. ((Damndable wind))

Lowe emergerged from the ground, sure his technique would've worked. "Wind give me away? Damn desert." Lowenthal said, dusting himself off. "Besides, it looks like you're getting the hang of the stealth mechanic quite well." Lowenthal said, happy for Hikoru. "But enough goofing around, when do we end up finding what it is we're looking for anyway?" Lowenthal asked, placing a hand over his eyes, trying to see anything.

  9. I suggest that HP moves from 4 HP per level, to 10HP per level.

It's not a hard step to make bosses and mobs a bit more, powerful.

And we can keep this fix, until a more suitable Combat System is implemented. However, I was(still am) of the lowe damage numbers, low HP sort of combat system. When Damage and HP get into the thousands, like (shows collection of JRPG's) it gets math confusing, quickly.

We as players, and staff also need to have clarification in the rules. Many of the boss fights have been posted poned for a couple hours, even a day because of a 'Would this do this, because so and so has this?'

just my opionin on the matter, atm

  10. I am in agreement. The sword Art's are grossly uneven (ye' be a fool not to pick dagger or whip)

The weapons back in the day were merely cosmectics, used to just be a cool kid. But now, they have stats. Unbalanced ones at that. I would say I would fix them, but I'm sure I'd just muck them up even further. But I do know that with the current simple multiplication SA system, it'll be hard to keep weapons balanced. A dagger should do less damge per hit, but hit a lot more and use less energy. A GreatSword should deal a great arc of damage, but slowly and taking a ton of energy. With the current system, that's impossible as SA's are measured by your Skill's Power and the amount of time you hit with said SA.

If you Nick, or anyone else have any ideas on how to fix the entirety of the system, I am more than willing to lend a hand and help with it. I can't promise that whatever we make will become what we use, but it will be fun none the less ^-^

  11. Lowenthal chuckled, and threw his fist into the air. "Yes!To the booze!" He cheered happily, his smile reaching his ears as he walked ahead. Lowenthal lead Crimsa to the teleporter and transported himself to floor 11. The scent of the town hit him immediately, and he knew he was finally home He stretched his arms wide, as if stretching to embrace the air. "Home sweet home." Lowenthal said, taking in the natural beauty of the town. He stepped off of the tele-pad, and a few moments later Crmisa had tele'd through. "Alright then, welcome to floor eleven. Home of Aincrad's best beaches, best seafood, and most handsome tailor." Lowenthal jested, as he gave a quick bow to Crimsa. "The place is just down the road, this-a way." Lowenthal said taking lead, being careful as to not walk to fast as he did not want to lose Crimsa to the populated street.

  12. Hmmm

I'm actually quite intrigued with how this is prepard. The only issue that I see is this.

    Post Order

In OP's like Oinks thread, it's quite difficult to say 'I blocked you' if there are 4-5 people posting before you.

Another thing is this, player combat. Normally it would go

    Player 1 attcks-rolls dice-deals dmg-next

The damage is normally received instantly, on the same post as the attack. Which would make this skill very math rewind. (going back, and making edits to stats)

    So hypothetical situation

Player 1 attacks Player 2. Player 1 deals 5 damage, and ends his post.

Player 2 reacts to taking damge. And proceeds to drink a potion to heal back the damge.

Player 3, uses this skill to prevent an action that happened 2 posts ago.

If succesful, player 3: negated damage 2 posts ago. Negated the use of a consumable, And broke time itself in the process.

If I may suggust, there is a Pathfinder/D&D term called a 'Prepard Action'. Basically, a player can sacrifice their turn to 'ready themselves'. Continuing from our example from earlier.

Player 1 deal damage to player 2.
Payer 2 takes damage, and drinks a potion.

    -here's where it's different-

Player 3 uses his post action, to 'ready himself to use this skill' Should and ONLY should player 2 be attacked. (he rolls the CD now to succeed or not)

Player 1 attacks player 2, but player 3's skill activates. Based on his CD score on his previous post.

Depending on Player 3's CD score, Player 1 reacts. Did he hit player 2? Or did player 3 succuesfully interject himself?

My 2 cents, after some quick thought.

Lowenthal chuckled, and closed his eyes deciding to humor Hikoru. As lowenthal opened his eyes to see if he could fine Hikoru, a small gust of wind carrying just enough sand blew it directly into his eyes. Now, almost completely blinded by sand he sputtered and coughed as he wiped his face with the back of his hand. "Gahk, cough, damn!" Lowenthal sword to himself. "Blasted sand." He said, looking up his eyes now free from the sand. He quickly scanned his surroundings. It was no good, the wind had blown away any footprints that Hik may have left. And his tempoary blindness had ruined any chance of seeing Hik's direction of movement. Lowenthal sighed, before cupping his hands around his mouth. "Alright, you win!" Lowenthal said. "Your turn!" Lowenthal said, as he activated his own stealth.

    [Stealth Rating: 16]

  14. Lowenthal nodded. "Stealth works just fine. I'll even give you some pointers. Not sure, how it'll help but it doesn't hurt." Lowenthal said, entering his stealth stance, and activating the skill. "What helps first, is to try and eliminate your footsteps. Move slowly, and step heel first." Lowenthal said, inching forward slowly. "Also, try to stay as low as you can. It'll put a strain on your back and thighs at first, but from the carrying I've done it's nothing." Lowenthal jested. Lowenthal coughed as he continued. "That's basically it though. Stay low, and stay quiet. When you're doing a mission in stealth, you're all alone. So you gotta make sure you either got your exit secured, or that you don't get spotted at all." Lowenthal said, exiting from stealth.

  15. As it stands, I am completely fine with this:

'A thread in the UR can be linked to your journal under these circumstances.
It meets normal thread requirements for rewards
    21 posts for 1 SP(400Col per Page)
It is APPROVED by a PST/GM/Admin and locked
The thread is then noted in the players journal BY a STAFF member'

This way those who UR, can get rewarded the same way players are. And since staff are the ones who have to soft link the UR threads, there would be no chance for the player to be at fault for mis-linking a UR thread.

  16. This isn't a Sim Date xD
Can't raise my charm by drinking the booze.

There shouldn't be anything violent in SAO. There is no pain, blood, or gore in the world of SAO.

I am completely fine with the second option, that Crimsa has suggested. If we allow players to gain Col and SP for having Tea Parties, tehn we should allow charcater SP and Col for boning eachother like rabbits at an Easter convention.

  17. I am voting no, and I will explain.

It makes logical sense for a player to go out and quest, and kill monsters to get stronger. But not for a player to sleep around, and gain the same power. And this is, as far as I know it, is a PG-13 site, Which is why the UR is allowed, but locked away behind a password.

And because it's hidden behind a password is why we shouldn't allow the UR to give SP, or Col. As some players, cannot access the UR and will demand to see why players who have no IC posting have so much SP and power. And when staff says 'they post in the UR' they'll want to see it, as proof. Which, is something I'm not comfortable enough to do.

I feel that, if you want to have your character get stronger you gotta go to the basement and slay a few giant rats. You can't just hang around in the inn, and gain xp that'away.

    in my oponion.

  18. Lowenthal grinned to the NPC. "Not to worry, we'll make sure that your brother makes it home safe and sound." Lowenthal said, stretching his arm across his chest. With the DPS power of two dagger users, there was little that could pose a threat. Except maybe a monster that had insane tanking abilities. But Lowenthal had fixed his gear, to allow him to recover his energy faster in and out of battle. He looked at Hikoru, his friend. Lowenthal smiled, at him and opened the door. "Well, let's go be heroes!" Lowenthal said, happily. Letting Hikoru lead the way. This was his quest, so he would called the shots.

  19. Lowenthal chuckled, it was good to see that it wasn't only him with relationship issues. "Well, whatever it is. I'm more than certain that you can come up with a solution to it. I mean, I believe in you. That's why when I retired I gave you Shadowed Path. Because I knew, I know that you are someone who can do great things." Lowenthal peered over the shoulder of the man, looking at the quest notification. "A quest? Finally, something to do. I'm all aboard." Lowenthal said, almost all to eagerly. "Things have been way to boring back at the house. I mean, there's nothing to really do. I get news, and all that but there's just nothing. Just sand and endless ocean. But I digress." Lowenthal said, apologizing. "What we sign ourselves into?" Lowenthal asked, wanting to know the details of the quest.

  20. Lowenthal stretched his arms above his head as he woke from his nap. Doing absolutely nothing made him tired, and he found himself taking constant naps through out the day. Another day where Shizuka had already cleaned the house, and gotten the chores done. Lowenthal sighed, and rubbed the back of his neck. The sun had already set upon Lowe's beach house, and casted it into a soft darkness. The sounds of the waves, washing up on the shore bringing it's salty scent filled Lowe with peace. But why was it that he still felt, useless. He jumped, and let out an audible gasp as he heard his notifcations go off. He opened his menu and read the message from Hikoru, asking him out for drinks. Lowenthal chuckled, and sent a message in return.

Lowenthal stood up and equipped his KotBO gear. It felt right, to be in his gear again. To have his dagger by his side. "Shiz hunny, I'm going out!" Lowenthal called out. "Going to hang out with Hikoru and some other friends I'll be home soon." Lowenthal said, before leaving his home and stepping onto the sandy shores outside. Lowenthal stepped into town, and teleported himself to floor five, where he met his friend. "Hey, Hikoru." Lowenthal said aloud, seeing the Master of Shadows. "How's the wife?" Lowenthal asked, happily.

  21. Lowenthal ignored the Crab Battle that went on, and instead focused on different things. The people there should've had it completely covered, they wouldn't need him. And besides, the crabs would've died far to easily to his blade. Not that he had it equipped actually. Now that he thought of it, he didn't have any of his normal gear equipped. Just his pair of swim trunks. Quickly, the battle was over with. Almost as soon as it was started. Lowenthal applauded those who fought the crabs, and who claimed victory against the crustaceans. Lowenthal noticed a girl sitting alone on the beach, away from most of the commotion. Lowenthal stepped over, and decided to introduce himself. He stood proudly, and gave his name. "Hey, I'm Lowenthal. You planning on tanning? Game doesn't let you. On another fun note, game also doesn't sunburn you so that's a plus I guess. Heh heh." He said, as he sat down beside the girl. "What's your name?" He asked.

  22. Lowenthal erupted from the cool water, throwing his head back, tossing his hair out of his face. Lowenthal let out a large laugh as he flopped backwards, his toes poking out of the water's surface. How long had it been since he enjoied himself this much, on any note it had been far too long. Lowenthal poked his head back to the beach, and saw that a few more bodies had appeared. Lowenthal made his way to shore, and shuffled his way onto the beach. He smiled, as he gave the group of players a friendly wave. "Howdy." Lowenthal said, introducing himself. "Lowenthal, pleasure to meet you guys." Lowenthal said, his tongue fumbling. He wasn't wuite used to not introducing himself as 'Fool of the Velvet Room' or 'Master of Shadows'. Now he was just Lowe. He scoffed to himself. "No matter. Welcome to the party!" Lowenthal said, happily water dripping from his body and his Knights of the Blood Oath branded trunks.

  23. Lowenthal gave out a long whistle. "Thirty dragons? Sheesh, going all out isn't he. But don't you think he's trying a bit to hard?" Lowenthal asked, leaning forward placing his knees upon his legs. "And he's your servant? Well, till death do you part, I guess." Lowenthal said, chuckling. Lowenthal saw that the woman was rubbing her hand. Perhaps out of nervousness, or embarrassment. Whatever it was, she hid her true emotions well. Lowenthal stood from his benched seat. "Well, there's a nice place up on floor eleven. Not so much a bar, but it's nice." He said, remembering his friends restaurant.

  24. Lowenthal raised his hand. "Yeah, I've got a question." He said, his voice breaking out of the silence. "So what now? Zel and Dom are dead. Oikawa and Opal are more than likely to avoid the front lines. Ive retired with Shizuka. Im just curious as to what the game plan is, seeing as a majority of saos finest are either dead, or leaving." Lowenthal asked aloud, ending his question poised to Mack and Heathcliff.

(Mobile post, may edit later. Premise the same)

  25. Lowenthal rubbed the back of his neck as he entered the hall. A meeting, most likely to discus 'what of the guild' and 'the treachery that is Opal'. How it all annoyed him. It was no secret that Opal was a member of laughing coffin. That both Ssendom and Zelrius had died by Opal and Oikawa's hands. That Tristan had abandoned the front lines, and graced Calrex with his unique skill. He had heard all of it from Hikoru after he nearly smashed his door down in an emotional wreck. Lowenthal had seen the few amount of people, and sighed in annoyance again. Lowenthal let out a small laugh as he spoke. "Any reason as to why I was pulled away from my evening with Shizuka?" Lowenthal asked aloud, mostly to Mack who seemed to be the only official one in the room.
