The 25th floor, last time Macradon was here was of necessity more than anything, he remembered every last bit that happened at that raid … it was a different time, a lot has changed since, bosses became more intricate, floors got more fleshed out, it truly was a huge milestone for the Aincrad conquest. The knight reminisced his time travelling the maze, the penguins he had doodled along the way to the labyrinth boss and eventually what became the floor boss arena. It was a gruelling battle, the hardest Macradon had fought, the hardest Macradon had endured, it was like a personal jab at everything he did, everything he strived for, it was a continuous barrage from Shadow, he could only shudder at the chains that once bound him.

    That was the past, he couldn’t dwell on them for long before he had to lock in and keep his game face on. “Chalk, yes, good to draw penguins with.” he noted and began doodling the second they would enter the ever changing labyrinth. It didn’t take long for the adventurers to find the web-infested arena. “Aye … I see that …” he said hesitantly as his airbourne space was being occupied. He snickered at the giant arachnid that made its presence very well shown and Freyd was quick to analyse and find the web’s weak spot. With a defiant strike towards the arachnid matriarch, Freyd easily sent the boss down onto the ground from its web with grace.

    “You’re quick to find weak spots! I wouldn’t ever have found that! If anything, I’d probably have stumbled into it while jumping around and only got lucky with it.” he said and got into position, running around the battlefield to open up the field for the rest while setting up his own assault. With a quick rush, Macradon flew into the air and spun, cobwebs would tangle onto his body, making it very difficult to place himself in a proper stance to throw off any sword arts, but he managed. He crashed down onto the prone arachnid and just barely got a strike in, its large legs blocking some of the incoming hit as Macradon got a few glances before getting a lesser cut into the beast. “Yeahp! It’s difficult to jump around in here! And those legs are really getting in the way!” he exclaimed, hoping his experience would help the others succeed and get better hits in than him.

Somehow, for some reason, his shop was being frequented more than he was used to, not that it was a bad sign or anything, but it seemed like the myth of his non-existance was being purged day by day. “Sometimes it actually feels nice to exist” he thought to himself as the bells chimed in his shop's entrance. It was Jomei, a familiar face and a familiar person. A capable fighter Macradon had been on nary adventures with in the far past. “Jomei! It’s good to see you, how may I help you?” he inquired and listened to the request “No problem it is a shop after all, so I expect business from people who come, but everything sounds good, I’ll get it done in no time!” he exclaimed and presented some snacks and some tea “I’ll get to it right now.” he said and turned around towards the smithy just as another patron would make their entrance.

    Macradon’s eyes perked up at the newfound patron eyeing his display pieces “Oh, anything you fancy?” he asked and stepped out into the display area of his shop. They wanted some super spiky armour, for what reason was not important to anyone present and Macradon would just nod and accept the request “Very well, it’s yours, thank you for the transaction!” he said and sent over the item “If you need anything else, don’t hesitate to come back!” he said before returning back to the job he was just about to start.

    He brought the items to the forge and began planning out the schematics and put the consumables items at the ready. Macradon was a skilled blacksmith, probably no the best around any longer, but he was the first to reach Grandmaster rank, which he was quite proud of. That rank, that title, wasn't just for pure show either. Macradon had stood up against Haphaestus at Mt. Olympus and his mere presence scared off the goat man thing that escorted players to the top. Macradon was a name to recognise, and despite his self-inflated ego, he tried to stay as low profile as possible, his shop even just looking like whatever trading post in the town. As the time went by, the grandmaster finished his work and went out with the newly fusioned mastercrafted weapon "Here you go! Happy to be of service" he said and wiped off the sweat off his face with a towel "I hope it'll be useful."

  4. Not long after his reunion with an old pal, the meeting began. As per instructions from Whisper in Shadows, Mcradon would find a seat and try to fit into the crowd and let the meeting flow as intended by whomever were planning everything. The knight made note of the scouting party’s discovery, a twisted stag or elk, some decay and rot emanating from the, what would be, boss arena. He shuddered at the thought of all that rot around him during a fight, it wasn’t to his best interests, but what could be in his best interest in a boss raid … it’s not like the bosses had been extremely difficult the last many floors …

    His eyes darted up at a familiar voice, his eyes would lock with the Emerald Duelist @Jomei! Good to see you too. Indeed, it’s been a while … I felt like I needed to support the frontlines some more, I’ve barely done my part!” he said with a snicker on the passing exchange.

    The meeting was underway, and exchanges were made. Macradon tried to follow as much as possible, but it all just sounded like a jumbled mess to him … what happened to the good ol’ days of “hitting it until it dies”, now everything’s so complicated, he didn’t really have that much brain power to take in any of the discussion at face value, he just had to experience it to know what he had to do about it, how he had to act, how he had to fight. He just sighed at his own incompetence and raised his hand “Macradon, off-tank and somewhat DPS, throw me wherever needed.” he said and just … let the others figure out all the intricate and optimal party structure.

    Last time Macradon was given the lead to a raid, it didn’t really go … too well … so he’d better just sit back and let the rest carry the frontlines to victory, he’ll be their beatstick wherever they would point to. 

  5. A piercing gaze connected to his, a familiar face, a face he hadn't seen in a while, a face that gave him confidence in frontlines. The knight returned the nod and awaited the arrival of his battlebrother. @Bahr was a warrior, no, a character, no, a player … no, a person Macradon respected. They met a long time ago, when Bahr first began treading into the battlefield, he was the one Macradon wanted to imbue the legacy of legendary greatsword wielders, the legacy of his old mentor, the legacy of his own accomplishment to the next generation of frontliners to come, and boy did that legacy bear fruit. Bahr was an amazing combatant and was an asset the frontlines would be more than happy to have in their arsenal.

    Macradon would widen his smile as his friend came close, his arm extended in response to Bahr’s. He would go past the hand and got straight to the forearm, gripping in a clasping his other hand on on top of Bahr’s in a warrior’s handshake “I am glad to see you as well.” he responded

A lot of people had arrived at the meeting before he did, he wasn’t surprised, there was seemingly a wedding close by, so those that already attended that would’ve presumably just walked over here with the rest of the crowd. Macradon wore his formal attire despite no need to represent anyone but himself, and even though he stood alone as a solo player, he still had some dignity to his name … some. He scoffed at his self loathing and shook his head, he was better than that, he didn’t need to fall into another spiral, he had places to be, people to save, battles to fight. He would check up on his equipped gear and nod to himself to enter the meeting’s location.

    “Well met, friends and newcomers. It’s good to see you all again. Has anything been discussed before my arrival? Oh yeah, I’m Macradon, by the way.” the knight quaintly said as he made his entrance. His urge to kick down an imaginary saloon swing door, take a few cowboy steps and recite his Dinkster entrance was clawing at him, but he refrained, it was beneath him, that past event was … a disaster, and he wasn’t even the centre of attention for that.

  7. Macradon would take a few moments to catch his breath from his acrobatic antics. They weren’t too bad, but they definitely weren’t his finest work either. He sighed at his subpar performance and looked over at his party. It sure was a rag tag group with little synergy as to party composition, but that wasn’t important, what was important was their teamwork, and despite their flaws, they got the job done. Could it be more streamlined? Sure. Did it need to? Nope.

    The knight would stretch after the fighting and wandered closer to the others “I’m fine with heading up. When we get that thing down, we’re bound to be ready for the Ugzeke respawn. Two bosses down, two to go, let’s do this!” he said and pumped a fist into the air while skipping out of the arena filled with the crowd’s ecstatic cheers.

    Two of his party mates began inquiring about NIGHT’s sudden incapacitation in the fight, maybe something was wrong, maybe not, could’ve been a sudden fluke out of nowhere. He felt like he needed to support his fellow greatsword wielder as well, but with the two inquisitors already at her side, the knight didn’t feel like piling on.

    “Let’s go!” he proclaimed and marched towards the teleportation plaza, and then up to the 25th.

  8. The raging rhino rampaged throughout the arena, kicking up giant clouds of sand as it stampeded after the players, trying to gore them with its horns. Macradon watched as his party went ham, getting the rhino closer and closer to its demise. With every hit, they got closer and closer to killing, and with a quick rotation of attacks, the party got it down into the red. A really good hit would be enough to take it out. Macradon rushed up towards the rhino between his party mates and leaped into the air. With a quick spin, Macradon dashed into Piasuhon with a quick cleave with his sword, cleaning it closer to its demise, but just barely. He looked up at his party while trying to land safely from his attack and exclaimed “It’s deep into the red, time for the finishing blow!” as his voice boomed through the arena, nearly deafened by the arena’s spectators’ cheering and heckling.

  11. The door opened and the small bell rang, Macradon looked up at the entrance from behind the counter “Oh, Oscar. Good to see you! Welcome! How may I help you?” he said in a somewhat baffled expression. It’s been a WHILE since anyone had entered his shop, maybe the rumours of him not existing become an actual myth on the 1st floor. Despite how fun that gag was, it was beginning to hurt his reputation as a blacksmith, all that hard work, first Grandmaster, now degraded to non-existence. He would sigh lightly from that train of thought and listened to Oscar’s request. “Been a while since I last did some fusions, but I’ll be able to sort this out. Just wait a bit. Grab some tea and biscuits while you wait, I'll have those while crafting.” he said and took all the goods and the weapons into the smithy and began working on the diagrams for fusion while munching on the best of the best glizzies.

  12. He shrugged off his miss and steeled himself “That ain’t good enough, soldier!” he thought to himself in the voice of Mack, his old superior, now MIA. They weren’t the best of friends, but he had a lot of respect for the man, his military might and is aura of order on the battlefield. If Macradon was to ever be able to do anything even slightly like that, he would need to have a better understanding of the battlefield, its surroundings, his teammates and his opponent. It wasn’t good enough to just jump around and try to land some hard strikes. He had to make every movement count, not to waste anything.

    Macradon would laugh at Freyd’s comment “I don’t really know, red doesn’t seem to distract it enough, maybe it just wants to hit whatever it’s fighting regardless of colours. I can respect that.” he said with a slight chortle to his voice “You’re doing a good job. It might not stand still for long, but it’s better than it rampaging!” he said and looked at the raging rhino.

    He took in a deep breath and followed his party into the fight again. A bombardment of attacks would strike the rhino as both Freyd and NIGHT landed hits to keep it on its tippy rhino toes. The knight would take advantage of this opening and swoop in. His blade gleamed with bright orange as his sword art would take off and his body leapt into the air. He would adjust his stance and let out his sword art and cleave through the rhino “Take this!” he cried out.

    His sword would emit a bright holy light as it made contact, cutting through the rhino’s hide like butter. The thick skin of the beast was no match for the Blade of the Bloody Dictator “That’s a stupid name … gotta find something else for it at some point …” Macradon thought to himself and he looked at his sword while recovering from his aerial manoeuvring. This heavy hit did come with a drawback … the rhino was very much concentrated on him, and while bouncing around, that wasn’t a great position to be in.

  13. Something wasn’t going well, something was … missing. Macradon looked around the battlefield, and it seemed like NIGHT was … distracted, somehow. The knight would shrug it off for now, as he didn’t have time to handle it. Macradon was at the top of the priority for this rhino thingy, and while airborne, he wasn’t at the best position to dodge out of harm's way. He would keep moving, trying to keep up with the rhino’s ferocious charge. Its stampede would kick up a storm of dust. While still trying to home in on the rhino, Macradon would not be able to keep up, his wasted energy from jumping around all the time didn’t seem like it was a good choice for such an agile enemy.

    “Maybe I should consider when I should stay in stance or not …” he pondered and contemplated whether or not he should continue his pursuit. The thrill of the fight would get the best of him, and he continued his bunny hopping after that weirdly agile rhino.

  14. They didn’t spare much time from slaying Ugzeke to venturing up the floors, reaching the 24th where both NIGHT and Freyd had used utilities to make the search easier. He looked over at Freyd and smiled at his complement “Thank you, I still feel rusty, I haven’t been sharpening my skills, nor honing whatever I’ve been doing between raids … maybe I should,” he said with a chuckle “and thanks, yeah I’ve been practising some acrobatics, seems like there’s an exploit in the gravity system that I can get a hang of, and when I execute sword arts mid-air, it’s like I have a knack for when to fire them off with greater force than if I’d had just done it stationary on foot.” he said and pondered on his ability “But I haven’t had the time to really dial it in yet … mostly experimental. It leaves me quite vulnerable when I jump around, not much dodging I can do while up there.” he chortled and walked on with the rest.

    There was something about Katoka, she didn’t seem … all too gathered, like something was bothering her. It’s not like Macradon could see what it was, but he could just feel it in her demeanour shifts. He shrugged it off and continued on, walking towards the Colosseum where Piasuhon was located. Macradon walked up to the entrance and notified the guards and planners of their arrival “We’re just 4 adventurers who wants to challenge Piasuhon.” he said calmly and just waited for the gates to open. The guards chortled at the remark of this rag tag team, this motley crew, “As long as you give them some entertainment, go for it.” one of the guards said trying to compose himself. The gates opened up and the party was led inside. The sandy arena ground was firm as the foundation beneath it, it felt sturdy enough despite the sands somewhat loose traction, Macradon smiled at the though of shenanigans you could do with this terrain, but that would be something for him to do when he was by himself, not while gathering resources for a raid.

    The portcullis at the entrance fell down and locked the party in the arena, the crows was cheering on, be it for the party or for what was to face them. The grunts of the beast could be heard from the portcullis opposite of the entrance, chains clanged as the pulley system would open up the gate to the beast. Without hesitation Piasuhon charged out of its caged area, diving under the not fully opened gate, pushing the spikes up and away for it to engage in combat. “Here he comes!” Macradon exclaimed, but it was probably just for the theatrics, as the rest of the party surely had seen the commotion coming at them. 

    Macradon began dashing up towards the rampaging rhino, he clenched his fist around his sword and drew it from his scabbard just as quickly as he moved. His body would loosen up with the sudden movements and he jumped up into the air like he had done previously. With a quick stance in the air, Macradon's sword beamed with holy white light as he darted towards the rhino and sliced through it like butter. His body’s movement was smooth but despite that a huge cloud of sand and dust would erupt as the knight landed just behind the rhino after reaping into its digital flesh. The open wound burned with a bright light, its hide pierced like it was nothing, Macradon was back in his groove again. He quickly manoeuvred out of the way from the rest of the party to take their hit towards the spiky guy. The crowd went wild for the very first strike to be delivered, it was flashy, bot the sword arts execution, but also just Macradon’s antics, it was a show after all.

  15. As the last few hits went through, Ugzeke was no match for this crew of fierce warriors. He would sheathe his sword with a big grin adorning his face “That was great! You’re all so great!” he said, totally ignoring the other conversation that had been going on about some kind of wedding. He hadn’t heard about these new up-and-coming fighters, not about any wedding that was to be present at the raid meeting? Macradon was confused, and his mind wasn’t set for that kind of discussion right now, there were more important matters at hand, being delivery people, “I will become the milkman …” he muttered for himself like some kind of mantra.

    He raised his head towards Freyd and would reply “So … we can either dwell here and wait for Ugzeke to respawn, but that’s probably gonna be a while before that’s of any use. I think we can ascend a floor and take out that rhino thingy, and after that go up and Raid that spider on the floor above that. At that time, I’m sure Ugzeke will have respawned, and we’ll have gathered all that have been requested,” he looked at his notes once more just to double check “unless, of course, you have any objections, or even want some extra consumables yourself? We can probably take a detour after we get the main stuff, I’m up for it.” he said with a calm and content tone.

  16. Macradon chortled at Freyd’s remark “Don’t you worry about your membership, I’m not even the one keeping the tabs on that one.” he said jokingly while manoeuvring into a better position to strike “You know what they say, once a greatsword wielder, always a greatsword wielder!” he excitedly exclaimed while going into another aerial feat of sword art execution. 

    Despite his status and the rumours about him, he was severely lacking behind in raw damage output, both Katoka and NIGHT excelled in dealing damage much better than Macradon did. His measle 10%, if even, hits were nothing compared to the health shattering strikes from the two other fighters. He truly was getting rusty at this damage dealing thing … maybe this was just a warm up “Haha, yeah, warm up, that’s why I’m not doing so well … right …” he thought to himself and continued on with the fighting.

    His sword gleamed a bright yellow as his next sword art was about to be unleashed. With a quick jump into the air and a decisive downwards strike, Macradon sliced through the troll once again, just enough to trigger it into its rage zone. The troll’s skin quickly turned red in rage and its movements became much more erratic, more agile, more nimble. In its blind rage, the troll would sweep around the mosquitos that were flying around it. “I think he’s angry!” he called out the rest of his party.

  17. Macradon perked up at the description of Katoka. He had only heard a few things about her from different sources, mostly Baldur mentioning her in passing, so this more thorough description was well met. He smirked and replied “Alright! She sounds like an amazing balance to whatever I’ll come up with when we go fighting!” an overly exciting tone was easily discerned from his words as the knight was once again way too ready to get his body limbered up by good ol’ combat. He chortled lightly at Freyd’s remark “I wish I could’ve been there … it’s just been … difficult to get out of the house sometimes.” he replied, trying to keep the happy tone, trying intently not to sombre up the atmosphere, but luckily that changed.

    Not long after the exchange, the topic at hand appeared, Katoka was the next to arrive. Her charming greeting contrasted with Freyd’s usually cold demeanour, evening out the playing field. Startled by the sudden change of Katoka’s expression, Macradon couldn’t do anything but blush a bit and scratch the back of his head “Oh .. uhh … yes, it’s me. ‘The’ Macradon” he said with a slight chuckle while doing air-quotations around ‘The’. “I’m glad the players still know who I am, even though I haven’t been the most present in a while. I hope my infamy hasn’t detracted from who you perceive me to be.” he said, hoping that he wasn’t fabled to be someone he wasn’t, it’s much better than being told that he doesn’t even exist.

    As Katoka introduced herself, Macradon would salute the Captain and reply “It’s nice meet you too, Captain. I am Macradon, solo player, and former Vanguard Commander. The honour is mine, your guild mate has put in some good words for you and I’m excited to see your fighting style.” the ended his small introduction with a small bow with his head and his salute firing off.

    Not long after the introduction of the two NIGHT would make her entrance. The knight looked over at his fellow greatsword wielder and waved his hand at her “Good to see you, NIGHT,” he greeted and listened to Freyd’s more detailed description of the current situation. He nodded at Freyd while showing off his notes that he had compiled from the request board “It’s not something I’ve done before, but it seems like those that want to go to the frontlines are requesting consumables for the raid. I know you two are extremely capable,” he explained and looked at NIGHT and Freyd, “and I’ve only heard good about your skills,” he added and looked at Katoka, “I found this party to be the most capable to take on the Tier 4 field bosses for their consumable drops. Unfortunately we have to cater to a lot. Freyd is right that we are to fight Ugzeke, at least twice. Our total is 6 Troll’s Blood, 6 Rhino’s Horn, and 4 Iron Thread. This means that we should take out Ugzeke twice, Piasuhon twice, and Maze Weaver just a single time. It’s gonna be an exhausting expedition, but I’m sure that we can handle it.” he said and looked up at his party mates.

    Freyd would lead the way to Ugzeke in a seemingly knowing way. Macradon had fought the troll once before, but he hadn’t memorised its hideout or spawn location like this, Freyd seemed to have all the scouting under control. As the party came to a ledge, Freyd jumped down and began the fight, catching all the attention from the troll. Macradon smirked and looked over at Katoka “This is gonna be great! Hope you’ll enjoy the show!” he said exceedingly and drew his sword from its scabbard. He walked up to the ledge with a strong stride and as he came to the very edge, he would let himself fall over, but just as his body got into position, Macradon would push himself from the ledge straight down towards Ugzeke, engaging his <Charge> and went into stance mid-air. He would extend his sword to trial behind him in his right hand and glided through the air like an arrow being sent off from a bow.

    Macradon darted through the air, leaving a trail of ice cold mist behind him as he crashed into Ugzeke. His sword sliced into the troll with a decisive strike as Macradon blurred by the troll with an orange flash from his <Sword Art>, cleaving into the health bar of the boss. He landed a few metres from the troll with a large boom, his crash into the ground from the ledge left a small crater from the impact. The knight peered up and tried to estimate his damage and sighed a bit as he saw the movement stop quite early “Damn … only about ... 10 percent …” he thought for himself, somewhat disappointed by his rustiness.

  18. The busy streets of the Kalanaeyan teleportation plaza, was quite a sight. It wasn’t something you’d consider as a livable area. With the amount of citizen in the underdark, just as many deadly monstrosities roamed the cavernous underdark. Despite its gloomy exterior Kalanaes, and the rest of the underdark for that matter, was extremely lively, so many inhabitants walking around, living, or rather, surviving. The busy main area would keep Macradon occupied for the time being, his ironclad self would sit by a wall and await the rest to arrive.

    First to show themselves would be Freyd, a man Macradon had went on a single adventure with in the past. Freyd was a formidable person, and just as formidable a fighter, the man was capable and deserving of his fame, a paragon of the frontlines. As the Whisper in the Shadows exited the platform Macradon would stand up and approach his fellow frontliner. @Freyd! It’s good to see you, happy to have you on board for this retrieval mission, it’s gonna be a doozy.” he said with a goofy smile “I’ve also sent the message to NIGHT and Katoka. NIGHT I know, but Katoka was just someone I had been recommended for this, I don’t know them that well if at all. Any notes you would be willing to offer me about them? Anything I should be careful about?” he inquired with a joyous tone, not really expecting an answer, just trying to keep the gloomy area feel somewhat less gloomy, if that was even possible.

    Noticing the presence of a feast, Macradon would not hold back “Don’t mind if I do!” he said, wiggling his fingers as he devoured a Creme Brulee and a Madlad Muffin, if only he had his Sick Shades to match with the theme. “I haven’t been too active in Frontliner business since Gabrandr, anything new happened while I was away?” he asked, mouth half full with deliciousness.

  19. It was a busy day at the Macradon Estate, steps could be heard going back and forth between the mansion and the smithy. It was a day to be joyous, the labyrinth boss on the 28th floor has been slain, and the frontlines were bolstering their resolve for a Boss Raid. A smile adorned the knight’s face, unable to hide his excitement of what was to come: combat!; fighting!; even more fighting! Despite his seemingly erratic movements, Macradon’s pacing back and forth was him checking his inventory and personal armoury, making sure that he had everything he needed himself, or at least most of it.

    In his hand was a piece of paper with tables filled out, a check sheet for all the consumables needed for the raid. He had found it at the Request Board, making a copy for himself to ponder upon. The most exciting way to start was the 23rd floor, that’s where he could use his powers to their fullest. It’s been a long while since he last joined any meaningful battle, and there was no need for him to go material gathering anymore, either his crafts would come out with a gain, or he’d just pay someone to get them for him.

    He finished his own personal checklist and began consuming all that he needed for this expedition, it would be a long one. While eating all the feasts and snacks, and drinking all the potions he needed, Macradon tried to brew up a direct message to those he found most capable to take care of this. He would ponder upon his words, make a draft or two, but it all ended up sounding way too formal. “Whelp, f*ck that …” he muttered for himself and just wrote a quick message and sent it away without thinking too much of it “Should be enough for them to get the gist.” he thought and walked out of his mansion, locking everything down at his home base.

    Once again his strides were determined, each step was coupled together with an action: checking his inventory to make sure he had it all; checking for any replies that would come in from his message; change out his attire for battle; double check his extra gear was at the ready. He smiled as he arrived at the teleport plaza and muttered “It’s showtime.” He cleared his throat and commanded “Teleport to Floor 23.” The fluorescent blue light covered his body and transported him up, ascending through the floors in an instant, delivering him to the floor where he had his falling out with his old guild mate, his guild in general “This place doesn’t really shine any bright light in my memories …” the thought and looked around the underdark “nor does it shine any bright light in general” he joked and snickered for himself. The ironclad knight stood ready, the Imperial Topaz was ready to fight for the citizen of Aincrad once more, the hunt would begin, and the upper floors the hunting grounds.

  21. The tattered tents, patched up tarps, and littered streets. If anyone were to think of slums, this would be a picture in a dictionary. Macradon sighed at the digital misery that was forced upon these people, be they sentient or not. He didn’t have much to say on the matter, he wasn’t a figure of power to turn anything on this floor, if anything he was a terrorist, a foreigner who has come to stir up some problems for his own personal gain: freedom from the hellscape Aincrad.

    Hirru was quick to find the so-called ‘corridor’, and Macradon had to agree with the description. A lot of people were walking in and out, escorted by what seemed like ordinary soldiers, and perhaps even regular people. It was clear that there were people being escorted, and not just random bands of people; those oppressed were wearing yellow arm bands, Galtean refugees.

    It seemed like Hirru wanted the two to follow and try to do some reconnaissance in these corridors, but with Macradon’s current loadout, sneaking was going to be a bit difficult, and he didn't want to stick more out sonically than he already did. “Aight … give me a few” he would request and extracted multiple straps of leather from his inventory, he procured a dozen of belts that he would use to tie down his armour to his body so the interlocking parts wouldn’t make as much noise as he moved about. It wasn’t a problem he was used to, but after the big overhaul, his sneaking prowess had virtually vanished and his armour was now too loud to properly sneak around. After a few tightenings of the belts, Macradon’s battle regalia was fastened enough to make as minimal sound as possible during transit, which was optimal for what seemed like a stealth oriented stalking expedition.

    “Alright, let’s head out” he said and began his stride. Big movements into the sewer line, not something he was fond of as the smell was horrendous “Seems like this is the best route, let’s just get it over with.”

  22. Night truly showed her advantage in this fight. Macradon’s range wasn’t enough to keep her at bay. Flashes and blurs disappeared around his attacks, dodging and evading like cleaving into a mist. The knight chortled even though he was in a disadvantageous spot “You’re pretty good, light footed across the battlefield. I can’t imagine you also doing this while going all out with your greatsword. Saying I am impressed would just feel patronising, you’re a good fighter!” he exclaimed and went for a rock solid blocking guard, but it was futile, Night’s agility trumped his reach and ferocity, he was getting rusty against other players, which was good, he didn’t want to be great at that, not any longer, there was no need for his self righteous bullshit anymore, he was free to fight the environment, something he needed to survive and persevere on. Night’s strikes were direct and precise, perfectly matched to her weapon of choice. As the third strike hit him, Macradon would raise both his arms and let go of his wooden sword “Well fought, I very much enjoyed this.” he said with a smile and lowered his arms again. He crouched down to grab his sword, and on his way back up would extend out a clenched fist “Thanks for the bout.”

  23. Macradon snickered, “Glad to know I’m not the only one having just about nothing to do when raids aren’t upon us. Every excuse to get outside seems like a breath of fresh air, no matter how non-fresh the air ends up being,” he said and commented on their surroundings. It wasn’t the best of places to be, but it was something. This place wasn’t important, what was really important was what Baldur would be pointing out in the distance. 

    “That mountain huh … so the mountain houses the boss we’ll be fighting?” he questioned but only needed a short while to piece the pieces together “Oh shit. That mountain is «The Ancient». Fuck.” he said with a light concern in his voice. “Well … we better get going then, doesn’t seem like saying «The Ancient» feels good to the people around us. We better defeat «The Ancient» as fast as we can before the people of the settlement begin to fear for «The Ancient» even more. The least we can do for them is to take out the mountainous «The Ancient» he said jokingly to a point where ‘the ancient’ no longer made sense to him.

    “I guess … we’ll just leave.” he said while feeling the daggers and sneers the trio were getting from the locals. He would walk over to the closest pasture and find a good riding partner to venture out with. The knight, despite his self-imposed title, hadn’t used horses that much, he had just kept himself to walking, but it was exciting to get to a fight faster rather than later.

    As the party finally arrived at their destination, Macradon leapt off of his horse and landed somewhat statically, bending slightly by the knees and readjusted back up again. “Alright, didn’t take too long, let’s quickly prepare ourselves.” he said while Baldur began drinking his potion for the oncoming battle. Jomei took one of Baldur’s potions as well and chugged it down “Seems like I’ll be fronting off this titan, give me a few secs.” he said and began consuming large amounts of food right in front of the others, making sure that he would be able to tank through this fight.

    After chowing down on all his grub, Macradon flushed it down with the damage potion Baldur had offered, setting him up for the battle.

  24. With a quick upwards strike trailing behind him like a tail, Macradon glamorously failed to connect with Night who easily diverted from his oncoming attack. The incoming attack would then at least attempt to be parried, but the added momentum, and the lighter weapon Night was using, easily manoeuvred around his unwieldy blade with a just as unwieldy grip. His boulderous rock slide of a parry didn’t go his way and was hit by the quick strikes of Night. To his retaliation, Macradon would boulder his way through but play to his own advantage now, reach. Not only was his blade longer, his hilt as well. He was practically using his sword like a wonky glaive, being able to leverage like a greatsword, but reach close to a glaive, but doing neither at their greatest strengths.

    Night was moving fast and swiftly, taking her lighter weapon and armament to their fullest by moving faster than Macradon could realign his momentum in strikes, what seemed to be working now was straight forward broad sweeps, he would have to keep out for quick fake outs in Night’s movements, he had to try and feel his way towards the path Night would go, trying to cover as much as possible like an avalanche. With breakneck sweeps, Macradon aimed for a wide strike going towards his opponent.

  25. What a sight, this wasn’t really what he had anticipated for what seemingly was a valentines event … a tournament. Macradon chortled and looked at the crows around him and Baldur standing strong on his centralised position to everyone, telling everyone present what was going on and how the tournament was to be executed. It was quite the setup Baldur had prepared, training clothes, weapons, and gear. Everything seemed to be proper sparring gear where everyone could go all out without anyone being hurt. The dojo’s aesthetics were pleasing to the eye and everything seemed to be neatly placed to nail in the aesthetic even more. For whomever he were to go up against, his current attire would not be suitable, even if he had hoped for an all out brawl, this wasn’t the place for it.

    As he quickly donned his sparring uniform, he took off his right sleeve and let it hang besides him, letting half of his torso stay loose for dexterity purposes, and possibly looking cooler than being fully covered. And with possibly meaning not at all. Of all the weapons at display, Macradon was at a slight disadvantage with what he could pick out from, there really wasn’t anything that he was too comfortable wielding in this weight class, so he just went with what he felt most at home with: this shitty weird thing. He picked up the wooden sword, slightly curved in its long blade, but still enough leverage for two-handed use. What really picked this weapon out from the rest was the handle which was nearly as long as the blade itself. “Na-ga-ma-ki … huh” he muttered after picking it up and inspecting the item “Guess I’ll try this bad boy out.” he said with a joyous smile.

    He quickly side eyed up towards Baldur when the competition prize was a rare Safeguard potion, something that he hadn’t seen in the game in a while, this might even be one if not the last safeguard to ever exist. “Now that’s what I call a prize.” he said with glee as he walked over to the brackets to see who he would be facing. 

    “Night .. huh. I’ve met her a few times, but I don’t really know her that well.” he mumbled for himself as he scoured through the mass of people, trying to pick out the stealthy greatsword wielder, but she was fast to enter the arena before he even scouted her out, he would follow suit and enter. “You’re using something smaller than usual. Shame, I would’ve loved to spar with you at your full potential, guess this’ll do anyways.” he said with a friendly smile as he got into a near guard with his blade trailing behind him, lowered down towards the ground. He would set himself up with a lowered stance leaning forward, either having to take the initiative himself or let Night engage upon him. "No personal attack taken." he replied with a nod.

    A few seconds that felt like an eternity leapt by as nothing really seemed to happen, they were both dead-locked in being reactionary, so whatever he could do now was to set it all up “HERE I COME!” he roared as he charged in with a ferocious might. As predictable his moves were, it didn’t surprise him that Night easily began to counteract his brash spearheading.
