  1. Vargas opened his eyes to see Atzo walk in. He had been resting, as was customary for him when he hung out at his shop. Getting up out of his seat, he walked up to the counter and greeted Atzo. "Dude, those Unqiues are annoying. I've only ever gotten one and that was when I first opened my shop, BUT I'll see what I can do." Taking the materials and equipment Vargas opened his appraisal window before selecting the armour Atzo had called 'Mirrors of Fear'. As the system did its thing Vargas looked back up at Atzo. Yeah, it's been really dead. Haven't got a whole lot of business, what with it being hard enough to get uniques but now most people are finding an increase in the item drop rates. Not sure if the Cardinal System is altering itself or if it's changing the game balance as the front lines draw closer to clearing the twentieth floor." Noticing that the appraisal system had stopped, he check the equipment only to find he'd failed all of his attempts for the day. "Uh...sorry. Seems I'm not having any luck today. I can try again tomorrow though if you want. I still have plenty of my own Mats on top of what you gave me."

  2. He had been looking for an available shop that sold potions and crystals at his tier level for some time. It was hard enough trying to build up some funds to purchase gear but when you wanted to but consumable items it always seemed extremely difficult just to find ones you could actually use. Spotting the alchemist shop "Piera's Potent Potions" he decided to step in and try his luck. Though, he didn't actually expect to have good luck with the fact that the owner's chose of alliteration led him to believe they probably focused on the tier two consumables.

    It was quite a happy surprise for him to see that this Piera person did in fact have tier one consumables. Damage and Mitigation ones in fact. Not caring too much about the quality, he quickly picked out a couple of the potions and looked to the girl, "I'd like to get these items if I could. I'm planning on doing a lot of mob grinding and I'd like to be able to not worry too much about running out of energy or even low on health." Opening a trade window, he offered the necessary Col total as he looked further at the crystals. Spotting an interesting one, he pointed it out to her. "I'd also like to get that Healing Sweep. Maybe it'll come in handy during a boss fight or dungeon raid."

  3. Don't tank they say. He'd just gotten the skill because that's what had been asked of him to fill a tank role for the guild. Sighing, Vargas just went with it. He still dealt decent damage with his sword skills so he could help beat the mob with little effort. "If that's what you guys want then that's what I'll do," he said, accepting his current role, "as for the dungeon search, that sounds fine to me. Especially if it repays you for helping us."

    He followed after Shield along with Atzo as they made their way to their destination. All Vargas saw for great distances was sand, lots and lots of sand. Dunes spout out of the never ending proof of time as they shifted from the flow of air. Spotting what Shield had, Vargas drew his Anneal Blade.

    The creature propelled itself from the shifting grains and captured Shield in its large jaws. It would've clung to Shield but Atzo quickly charged the shark, dealing a chunk of damage to it. "Let's end this quickly," Vargas said as Atzo dropped back. Charging forward, Vargas leaped over the creature and impaled his blade in its back as he activated his lightning fall sword art. "Anyone else feel like having some cooked fish for dinner after this?" Grinning at his own little joke, he kicked off from the shark and gathered some distance.

  4. Vargas arrived in Fortaleza through the teleportation platform. The crystal animation dispersed as he materialized. Looking around he saw the buildings were made vastly of polished sandstone and sturdy wood. Each one appeared to serve a purpose as a business, a tavern, or an inn. Well, looks like my first time on this desert floor is going to be for Blood in the Sand. At least I'll get be able to probably level up from it, he thought. Stepping off the platform Vargas began to make his way through the settlement. As far as he could see, most of the traffic traveled back and forth from one area, meaning that there was likely only one way in and out of the walls that had been erected around the place.  Wonder what the walls are trying to keep out. Some kind of giant desert beast or something? Better not be a freaking sand demon. I don't need to be dealing with giant beasts right now.

    As he looked around the town on his way to the gate he got a number of odd looks from his appearance. He had his hood down from the cloak, revealing his fox ears that matched his sandy blonde hair. His matching tail swayed to either side as he walked, brushing along his calves. Spotting Atzo, he walked over to his guild leader waving. "Hey. How's it going? Oh! I recently got my Howl skill finally. So I can draw aggro with greater ease."

    @Shield

  5. Vargas waved off Hei as he left to go talk to the other. "I look forward to seeing you potentially join as well." With that he was left on his own as the others were caught up in there own conversations. Atzo especially, who was caught up with multiple people, was caught up in answering questions from multiple directions.

    Everyone seemed to have everything under control. With a new player approaching the group Atzo had quickly directed him to Ren. With that being the case he noticed Eatos also no longer talking to anyone. The red-head she had been talking to had moved over to talk to Solomon. Moving over to Eatos he tapped her shoulder and smiled as he caught her attention. "Seems we both don't have much to do right now. Everyone else has everything covered at the moment I guess." He wasn't sure what to really say to her. They'd never really made much conversation but standing around doing nothing just didn't seem all that appealing.

    @Eatos

  6. After putting on his cloak he sat back down next to Eatos as more players arrived. He didn't recognize a single one of them. The only one that caught his I was the blue-haired fellow with the crescent moon adornment on his head. He looked very much like Eatos who seemed to be a little set off about the similarities. Perhaps there was an issue between the two or she also found it rather strange.

    Shifting his attention to Atzo as he began to talk, he noticed that Ren and Hydra had already put their cloaks on as well. Ren's being a bright red that shone like dragon scales and Hydra's that was a deep sapphire blue, almost seeming to be made of solid sapphire. A knock at the door had caught Ren's attention as he asked Atzo if he should get the door before he checked the window. Vargas didn't know how many members they had and had only begun to learn about most of them, so this was likely going to be an interesting meeting outside of goal discussion.

  7. (OOC: Sorry about the long wait guys.)

    Looking to Anemone as she smiled and praised him. "Thanks. Just out of energy so I can't use any of my attacks now. I need to get stronger so I'm wasting my energy so fast." As they fought Vargas saw Beatbox come charging in from back the way they came. So that's where he'd disappeared to. Must've made a wrong turn by accident, Vargas thought as he sighed at the implication of Beatbox's absentmindedness. His attack had done some excellent damage to the bears and stunned them. Both bears were now in the red and with Aereth's follow-up, one of them was at about a third of the other's remaining points. Morgenstern' she attack changed that and brought D down to C's level. Hearing Morgenstern call out to him, Vargas responded, "Nothing I can do right now. I don't have enough energy for even a strong low end attack. Hikoru it's all yours man."

  8. Continuing to look through the window at the carved animal figures he thought about what Mestophales. All he really knew was money due to his father's company. Not like he did anything anyways besides reading the books in the families immense library. He never needed much. The books were always enough back then. Even now, he wasn't one for material items. Though he did want to get himself at some point, preferably by a lakefront.

    Following her away from the store, still lost in thought, he was caught off guard as she ran her hand over his shoulder. "Huh?" Realizing he zoned out he started jogging his mind real fast for what it was she was talking about. "Yeah, I'm fine. It's not that I don't find you attractive, I do." He watched as she danced about the crowd, looking at shops. One shop catching her attention as she pointed at what it was she saw. Looking at it he realized it was a necklace. Nothing special really. It was a plain looking silver chain necklace. The charm, however, was of a dark blue cat laying down on a crescent moon. Looking back to her, "So this isn't you trying to drop hints now? Hehe. I'll make note of that." He understood what she meant. He'd felt it before, but that was a long time ago. It'd been over a year since then.

    Eventually Mestophales had lead them back to where they had come from last, her home. Noticing her sort of breathing control he wondered if there was an issue. When she asked if he wanted to come up it made him wonder if she was asking out of curtesy or if she generally wanted him to. Unsure, he decided to just go with it. "Yes, I'd love to."

  9. He couldn't see in the dark at all. At least, not easily by some contrast of natural vision. His eyes could adjust to the difference over time but it would still be dark in a cave the further they went. He still needed to get his Search and Detect but since he was now the Tank Leader for the Emerald Harbringers he needed to also get aground skills and mitigation. "I've been good. Mostly exploring the floors and chopping down mobs for experience," he replied. There wasn't a whole lot that he had done. So far he'd just focused on raising his level so he could unlock more skill slots and ranks to his skills. "What about you Atzo? What've you been up to, besides the meeting and recruitments you've pulled up for us recently?" Surely there was more that Atzo could tell them about himself, though when he thought about it there was plenty for all of them to share about themselves. It was whether they wanted to share or not and Vargas still wasn't one to share everything.

  10. It wasn't long before both NATO and Baran fell. Asterios still stood with plenty of health to his name. There was nothing his group could really do at this point. The Field Commander still stood as well but attacking him wouldn't do them much good either without getting some decent attention on themselves.The best they could do at this moment would be to either get out of the way or join another group and focus on Asterios with them. Looking to Atzo he said, "Not much point in staying for most of the group. We hardly dealt damage to Nato, so I doubt we can do anything more than poke at it with our swords." Lifting his sword up to enunciate his point. "Our best bet is to probably stand back and take on any minor mobs that spawn to protect the big guy." The best they could do was exactly that. Wait and see, probably not a real plan but it was better than charging in and getting sent flying by Asterios.

  11. Vargas found it interesting when Hei said he was a journalist for a games magazine. He must've got stuck in the game when he was doing a review for the SAO launch. Not much good it did him when he found himself stuck in this Death Game. That's gotta suck. Guy was just doing his job and he found himself stuck in this fucked up situation. Then again, that's everyone in here anyways, Vargas thought, thinking how badly people must still hate their situation.

    Listening to Hei's response to his prompt for question, he answered, "Yeah, we have several groups. There's the Tank team, which is my group, then there's the DPS team, which is headed by Aoda," he gestured to Aoda over to the side, "and finally, we got Advisors, Bodyguards and Information Gathering." At the first two he motioned to Solomon and Ren, respectively. "Our information gathering is headed by Hydra but he is currently unavailable to be here due to the fact that he's a red player. He participated in the Arabian Nights quest and ended up with the marker. If you want to join the Info gathering team you can follow Stryder over there," Vargas said pointing at Stryder who seemed to already be headed out.

    @Hei

  12. Vargas followed behind Atzo, along with Stryder, since he apparently knew the direction of the quest. He'd already taken the quest, so finding the girl would likely be easy since he'd know exactly where to look. Vargas wanted to move a little faster and find the girl as soon as possible. Though, with the pace they were going and him not knowing the location, he was just going to have to hang tight and follow behind Atzo.

    He didn't know what the quest required, other than finding the girl, or the average clear time of most players. "What should we expect for the quest if you've already done it? I guess you'll know exactly where to go to find the girl as well,"[/color' Vargas said, adding on to Stryder's question. It was best that they all knew what they needed so they could finish quickly and Atzo could go back to resting on his day off.

  13. Turning to see Atzo approach him, Vargas waved as he looked around for Stryder. "Not much. Looking for Stryder currently." Looking around he still wasn't spotting him. His attention was drawn away from looking when Atzo asked about wringing Stryder's neck. "When was that? I don't recall anything about a day off being announced or anything," Vargas asked, confused at this statement. He didn't know of anytime that Atzo had made mention of that.

    At the sound of Stryder's voice he turned to see him running up to them. "Hey Stryder, no problem. You asked for help so I rushed over here as fast as I could," Vargas responded as Stryder approached them. "Do you know where the cave is that we need to go to? I haven't done the quest before so I have no idea where we need to go." It was easy to assume he knew where the cave would be since he was the one to receive the quest. The game was likely to prompt the location of the quest on his map.

  14. Everything was quickly becoming hectic. It was a little much for any one person to deal with. Which is why when Atzo referred a player to him he stepped forward. He wasn't all too sure if he'd have the answers that the player was looking for but listening to what Atzo and Eatos were saying, he was able to pick up the general flow of questions and responses. When Hei approached him and tried to confirm his name, Vargas nodded. "Yeah. I believe you said your name was Hei earlier correct?" Vargas asked, wanting to start at a steady pace. "If you're looking to be part of the guild, don't worry about having to fit any requirements. It's primarily based on activity. So if you are making sure to put effort into leveling and gathering information it shouldn't be a problem." Really, it was all just the same stuff that the others had been saying but it helped for some people to talk to someone one on one without questions flying from left, right and center. "What other questions do you have?"

    @Hei

  15. Vargas rushed from his room on the first floor and down the stairs of the inn. He equipped his cloak right away and ran out the door, to the main square. He had just got a message from Stryder about a quest. Apparently, a little kid got lost in a cave and he wanted some help. Sure, it was an NPC and would probably remain there even if they did nothing about it for a week, but that was in normal games. Vargas had seen times when NPCs acted beyond what you would expect from their scripting. Hell, if the players could die in real-life from dying in-game, what's to stop something stupid happening to the NPCs too.

    Once Vargas reached the teleport platform he called out, "Urbus" and was in the game teleportation system before materializing on the second floor. "Where is he?" Vargas voiced our loud as he looked around for Stryder. Stepping off the platform he walked at a quick pace, not wanting to accidentally run by the guy.

  16. It wasn't long before they had an influx of other players. Primarily, low-level players. This wasn't an issue of course but it was definitely something to note. Since they were recruiting in the Starting City in was to be expected as well. Most low-level players made their homes here while they slowly leveled up or they sat here waiting for the front liners to beat the game.

    There wasn't much for Vargas to do at the current moment. When the other players showed up asking questions, he was soon to open his mouth and speak but was cut off as Atzo instantly had the foreground. It wasn't a bad thing as he was the guild leader, so being able to answer questions about the guild quickly would make things easier. Vargas stood back out of the way, his tail swinging to either side, as he looked over all the people here. It wasn't a whole lot currently but at least that made it easier to talk to people without having several dozen questions thrown at you.

    His fox ears turned in the direction of where Solomon was coming from when he heard him call out to Atzo. Now we've got two other High Council members. Just have to see how many people we can recruit into the guild now, Vargas thought.

  17. Vargas looked at Atzo, noticing that he'd just slain both of their respective mobs. He raised his hand waved off Atzo's apology. "Don't worry about it. Better be done with the fight now rather than later. I can always make up for it by finding something with more of a challenge to it. Hell, going back and fighting that Monkey King on Floor 8 would probably be more fun honestly." Vargas responded as he thought about that quest. He'd gotten carried through the whole thing but it was definitely strong. Going back and testing his strength against it for himself would be a good experience. "As for your guild..." Vargas looked down with his arms crossed over his chest as he dropped back into thought. After a short while Vargas responded, "Yeah. I'll do it. It'll be good to get out the solo routine and having to find players to form parties with at random. Besides, it might help me later on."

  18. Vargas made his way to the main square where Atzo was. He apparently wanted at least two members of the High Council to be around for recruitment purposes. Though, why he didn't just post on a board and recruit people he interacted with, he had no idea. He wore his black cotton pants and blue tshirt with his Sunstone Fox cloak, which gave him fox ears and a tail that matched his own sandy blonde hair. It even gave him whiskers on his face, which he was still become accustomed to the alterations as his bushy tailed swung from side to side as he walked. Upon reaching the main square, he saw Atzo and Eatos along with another player that he didn't recognize. "Hey," Vargas called out as he walked up to the trio, "how's it going guys? Already got a new recruit for the guild, do we?" He looked the guy over, noting that he didn't seem to have much in the way of gear. He was probably low-leveled too. Well, that wasn't an issue since he could always level up in a party faster than on his own. It took hard work and/or skill to solo level easily so maybe this guy would join them for that fact.

  19. The Minotaur cleaved its axe through the air as aimed to split Vara in half. Vargas blocked the attack with his sword and stepped out of the way of its hit zone. He brought his blade up and activated his sword art once more before he pierced it though the beast's large torso. The Minotaur cried out as the blade ran through its chest and out its back. Instantly, its health dropped to the red, approximately the same level of health as Atzo's mob. Placing a foot on the Minotaur's knee, Vargas kicked off and pulled his blade out of its torso. "Seems you didn't like my little treat. Don't worry, it'll all be over for you soon," Vargas said, as he swung his blade around to rest at his hip. Without warning, the Minotaur ripped its axe back out of the ground and swung violently. Vargas backed up quickly but was still cut by the axe, leaving a mark across his breastplate. "Well damn. Seems you don't know when to just lay down and die," Vargas chuckled as he looked at the wound he'd just taken.

    @Atzo

  20. Vargas charged in behind Atzo as they crossed the distance to the temple. Atzo had gotten ahead of him and was already unleashing an attack upon the Minotaur on the left. His Cyclone sword art connected, cutting down the minotaur's health bar by a large chunk, almost fifty percent. As Atzo taunted the beast and it roared, Vargas's Minotaur drew it's Great Axe from it's back. "Hey meat-head, keep your eyes on me!" Vargas yelled as he slammed into the humanoid beast. The Minotaur was sent stumbling into the temple walls as it looked at its attacker. Vargas readied his blade and dashed at the mob, his lightning fall sword art ready. The Minotaur recovered though and stepped out of the way of Vargas's attack while swinging its axe around. Vargas used his momentum to leap into the air, using the wall as a spring board, and somersaulted over the mobs attack. "Nice try but I've got to make this quick."

    @Atzo

  21. Vargas was sure how to exactly answer @Eatos's question. He knew Atzo, yes, but he didn't actually know much about him. They'd had hardly any interaction with one another. He'd sold him a cloak and helped with a quest but that was far as it went. "Yeah, I guess you could say that," Vargas said. With that, he sat there quietly without much else he could think of to further a conversation.

    Luckily, Atzo walked in with Hydra in tow which saved him from having to make lousy conversation. Vargas's attention increased though when @Atzo mentioned Raina. "Raina's part of the guild too?" he asked, as graciously accepted the cloak from Atzo. Putting it on, he unknowingly gained fox whiskers, a bushy tail and ears that matched his sandy blonde hair. His tail stuck out the back of his cloak as if stuck out a hole in the back. Looking to @Hydra he put out his hand and said, "nice to meet you. I'm Vargas." As he introduced himself his mind still wandered to the fact that Raina was here. He hadn't known she'd already joined a guild. As far as he knew, she was still a fairly low level so he hadn't thought that she would so soon without getting to know more people. For that matter, why was she getting dressed upstairs? Did she arrive early and get even more for her uniform compared to him and Hydra?

  23. Drawing his own blade in preparation, Vargas caught a glimpse of the flat of Atzo's Misguidance. The flat of the blade once again show like a mirror, but instead of showing a reflection of himself or Atzo, all Vargas saw was a pair of black, hollow eyes staring back at him with malice.

    "Worthless."

    Vargas blinked subtly as he heard that word resound in his head. Looking once again at the blade, all he saw was himself; no black eyes staring back. Shaking it off his mind Vargas looked at his heads up display and saw that all of his stuff was back to normal and, thus, he was ready to go. "I guess I'll take that one while you take the other," Vargas said as he pointed to the Minotaur on the right and then on the left as he spoke. He doubted this would take long at all for them to complete so he wasn't too worried about it.

  24. Vargas smiled when he saw Atzo open the door. "Good to see you," he replied before entering the foyer. Making his way to the lounge where you spotted the aforementioned Eatos. She was of a lithe build, with long dark blue hair. He grabbed a seat at the counter and turned to her. Her posture read slightly guarded as she had her left leg crossed over her right, though that could just be what she found most comfortable. Clearing his throat Vargas said, "Hi, I'm Vargas. I assume you're Eatos?" This was the first person he'd met that was part of the guild, besides Atzo. He still wasn't sure what to make of the guild so far but he still needed to make good first impressions as one of the High Council. He looked back at the archway he'd entered from and saw Atzo coming back with, what he assumed to be, his and the rest of the guild's uniforms.
