  1. @Calrex's Shi's Talon Crafter: Shield ID 82381 / 82382 Roll: Craft:8+4=12- Success! Battle: 10, Loot:12 - Holy Damage / Craft:8+4=12- Success! Loot:15 - Bleed Tier 2 Type: One Handed Straight Sword Quality: Perfect Enhancements: Absolute Accuracy, Holy Damage, Bleed Description: A straight sword forged from the talon of the fallen spawn of Rohk. It sports both a jagged sawtooth edge and a straight blade, designed for leaving lingering wounds on opponents. It is ivory black in color due to the material used to make it, but the handle has been wrapped with blessed fabric and
  2. Shield had expected a turnout, but aside from Beat, most of the people who he had known to have taken the Child of Rohk quest were here. He took each weapon and sat them down beside his work station before pulling out his brass scales and red wyvern jeweler's loupe. He held the lens up to his eye and pinched it between the meat of his cheek and the top of his eye socket as he pored over the items one by one. "Alright... For Calrex, we have... Hello... Looks like a slot of bleed and one slot of... Holy Damage," he said, whistling as he slid the item back over to its owner. "Not bad. You're

  5. He was only a day or so into his quest to find Beat a better weapon, but so far it had not gone swimmingly. Not only was there very little to speak of in the enhancement department, but he had wasted a lot of time and resources to find next to nothing. Today didn't feel like it would be any different. After going through a modest pile of hand wraps, some of them entirely mundane, some offering some mild enhancements, he found an interesting looking pair at the bottom of the crate. They were curious. Black, and tattered, like something one might see in a horror film on a ghost. Still, this

  7. Shield waved to greet Atzo, motioning for him to step over to the rack of mundane zweihanders. None of them had names or special stats, so hopefully they would be of use. "Take a look and grab whichever ones suit your tastes," he said, retaking his seat by his appraisal desk. "Shout if you need anything. I trust you to take what you need." He turned his focus back to his work, going through a small pile of hand wraps. This time around, he had some issue making identifications. He found one damaging pair and another with a slot of keen, but nothing else was cooperated. As he set aside
  8. Shield blinked as he looked through his jeweler's loupe. This was the fourth time in five days that he was presented with the golden exclamation mark notification that indicated a unique enhancement. It was also the third time that the had seen the Paralytic Venom enhancement. "It's strange that this one comes up so often," Shield thought aloud to himself. "Then again, it's a good enhancement for lower level players. If they decide to upgrade it by adding enhancements, it's more or less as if they had a demonic of low tier. It leaves them two open slots, while at the same time still doing
  9. The little hunched man that was his arms dealer lumbered into the shop. He was stocky and balding, but he was kindhearted. It took someone with a strong sense of right to do what he did, selling goods to lower level players for practically no profit. "The shipment ready to take down to the first floor, Shield man?" puffed the rotund man. "We got lots of people waiting." "Sure thing, Henry," replied the taller, more chiseled player. He approached the other player, opening a transfer window where he passed a few simple enhancement items in return for a modest amount of Col. "Someday, w

  11. Yesterday's success still fresh on his mind, he went into today's appraisals with high hopes. They were not unfounded either. As soon as he began his attempts for the day, he nearly fell out of his chair. He had heard tales of the coveted "Fallen" enhancement, but he had never expected to find one himself, especially so soon in his career. Consistent, stackable damage on regular hits, turning normal hits into critical hits on their own, was something to be remarked upon. Remark he did, with a few colorful words of surprise. He continued with his checks, but he was so excited by his discov
  12. Today, Shield was on a mission. he and Beat and Sey had recently just returned from a scouting mission, having glimpsed the boss room. The walls and floor had been covered wall to wall with a substance that seemed like it could be burnable, and that was exactly what he hoped to find: Burn. He dug through a fresh shipment of axes, setting aside anything that looked particularly menacing or flame related. There was one that he picked out more for amusement than anything: one designed like part of a CD. Each axe was a disappointment, some of them having damage over time effects, but not thos
  13. If there were two things that Shield had found in abundance that could be considered rare, it would be items with the Paralytic Venom enhancement and any number of holy artifacts. Today's selection of axes contained a rather odd number with angelic imagery marked around the edges. Sure enough, as soon as he set it under his lens, the golden exclamation mark interrupted a sea of red. "Another holy weapon," he said to himself, whistling aloud. "This really does fall in line with my other finds. Perhaps there is a title that could come from it." He stratched his chin, letting his eyes rest a

  15. If a day appraising could be described as hot and cold, this would be that day. While he typically went through a small pile of items, nearly every check required he retrieve something new. For the most part, that meant succeeding in searching for new enhancements. However, nearly as many fell entirely flat, displaying the telltale red padlock that meant the item not only had not revealed an enhancement, but that it never would. "Almost seems a little sad," he thought aloud. It was silly, but some days, he almost felt as if his appraisals were his children. It just so happened that today'
  16. The prior day's appraisals had been a relief from a break of very inconsistent and unproductive days. Today, he found himself right back in the thick of it. Within ten minutes, his head was already beginning to hurt from tensing his facial muscles for so long, clenching the jeweler's loupe with the meat of his cheek. Though none of his items fell entirely flat, none of them revealed anything unique, and none of them revealed anything easily. Each item burned three materials, the final one not even yielding an enhancement by the time he had used up all of his best efforts. Frustrated from

  18. Another day of putting the axe to the grind, only the idiom had a slightly more literal meaning in this case. Although he was not literally grinding the axes, he was holding them up to scrutiny, seeing what was worth selling and what needed to be more or less discarded. Although his first few attempts were slow to start, he soon found a rhythm, setting each axe aside as he found what was in store. "Bleed... damage... paralysis... another bleed.... another paralysis... yet another bleed..." he muttered silently to himself, setting each in its place as he appraised them. With a de
  19. There were uneventful days, and then there were days like this one. After seeing his first legitimate customer in weeks, the activity of the shop was more or less as dull as could be. Part of Shield very much wanted to call it a day early and take a long nap, but he knew that rest was a luxury that he didn't have as long as SAO was unbeaten. His resolve solidified, at least for the moment, he turned his focus back towards his craft. With his scales and coins and a handful of axes laid out beside him, Shield set about the task of appraisals. Not only did his first item lock, so did his se
  20. Shield had forgotten how much explaining it had taken on their previous quest. It was rare for people to take this particular quest without knowing exactly what they were getting themselves into. "Oh boy..." he said aloud, trying to think through where this put them. "Well, this might be a long search, unless you really are content with a vanity familiar." As they walked, Shield's Seeking Aura began to cast a subtle glow on his shoulder, which he interpreted as a detection of something useful. He spotted a piece of iron ore along the road and picked it up before continuing. "Fam
  21. "So you said," he replied. "Any idea where we're wanting to look or what we're looking for? And what do you want your familiar to do?" He was already deep in his menus, pulling up information he had on the various animal life of the many floors of Aincrad. There wouldn't be any issue if they ran into trouble, so the only concern was the beast she had in mind. Meanwhile, Norbert was busy grumbling on Shield's back. To quiet him, Shield pulled the little bag of bait fish from his inventory and began feeding them to Norbert one at a time. He snapped a little harder and louder than neces
  22. Shield was just cleaning up in his shop when he got a ping in his inbox. He checked his messages and saw a name he wasn't expecting to encounter again so soon. After giving the message a quick read, he sent a message back to her. "I'll be there. Send me the details of the floor and what you're looking to snag, and I'll meet you at the gate in an hour." With a little extra time for preparation, he managed to close up his shop and make its way to the rendezvous. With an extra hoist, he pulled Norbert more securely up onto his back, his turtle friend flailing slowly in its leather sling

  24. Shield nodded, looking the item over. He wasn't aware that there were players out recommending him, but it was certainly refreshing to hear. The economy and business in general had seemed slow in SAO. Maybe this was a sign. "Looks like a rare quality. Going for a perfect then?" he said, taking out his jeweler's loup, antique scales, and merchant's coin and laying them on the desk in front of him. "Just a reminder that what I find is up to chance." With that, he affixed the loupe to his eye and peered through its ruby hued lens at the sword. He squinted at the item, watching the littl
