  1. "Yeeeeaaahhhh, see, Krysta's not opposed to killing killers, as long as she believes they're evil..." Vigilon noted after Krysta had her rant. "She's um, been through some things, including the loss of her cousin....caused by Dazia." Vigilon revealed... And yet Vigilon wasn't willing to tell her what he'd learned about Dazia, that she was actually...nah, never mind, it wasn't like that would ever be an important thing to mention. It would be kinda weird if he did. "I do agree that it's unbelievable that Kayaba would ever force players to slay innocent creatures, but then again, it's not v
  2. "Yeah, makes sense, I guess..." Vigilon noted. With all things now spoken, and a number of questions to answer, all that was left to do was to continue searching the floor for the nest. The trio would travel to a more mountainous portion of the floor before reaching the general area the map was taking them. "Well, this is the area the map led us to..." Vigilon began. "But I don't see any evidence of anything living around here. Did we come too late? ...Oh, wait, right, Dragon. It might use flight to get home easily...hmmm...how should we search...?" Vigilon finished, thinking aloud at th
  3. Vigilon listened to the answers each player gave. Astreya didn't manage to find anything, but Krysta did. She read the page's contents to Vigilon and Astreya, and suggested that it might have a connection to the other papers Vigilon found earlier. "You know...that just might be the case." Vigilon remarked. "The Journal entry I found when this all started seemed to be someone who was seeking out a dragon's lair, and the name of the quest we're now in mentioned 'Dragon Hunter' in its title. Even if they're not the same person, they could have easily known each other." He explained. He then neede
  4. So the boars continued their attack, apparently. Astreya pulled out her weapon and slayed three of the four boars, leaving the last one to Krysta...or so it was thought. Krysta ended up getting disarmed by the enemy's tusks, having to dislodge her weapon. If anything, at least it kept the boar distracted enough for Vigilon to have a clear shot at finishing off this particular boar...once Krysta was able to get her blade back from the enemy. Then Vigilon would rush in to attack with Scooped, before the boar had a chance to act. After it shattered, Vigilon looked to the rest of the boars. "Have
  5. Astreya's familiar suddenly took flight, then returned with some loot? "Huh...I didn't know familiars could do that." He remarked. He looked back to his small white frost dragon, which simply huffed and showed off her frost breath. "I know you're proud of your bone-chilling frost breath, and I'm content with knowing you can do that, I'm just noticing this, that it was new, and kind of neat. That's all." Vigilon reassured. Veriost's expression was unimpressed, but it wasn't like there was anything else that could be said or expressed in this moment. It was then that the Boar Blockade showe
  6. Vigilon attacked once more, and the battle was over. The atrocity fell to the ground, and seemed to be getting crushed by the weight of his own chains... it was like watching something become it's own black hole, in which the only matter it took in was from what started it. The monstrosity was crushed into a singularity, then it shattered like the monster's size had never changed, and Vigilon's height returned to normal. "Whew...that was difficult..." Vigilon noted to himself. Suddenly, something he did not expect seemed to happen. "Where am I?" Came a voice inside his head. No, not
  7. Vigilon had been in this game for a while. Sure, he managed to grow in power, despite it being a slow burn...but had he really accomplished much, or was he just an extra hand, an unnecessary wheel? Was he going to die here, or simply be ejected from the Mindscape? He felt everything crumbling around him, that he couldn't do anything about all of this. The chains hadn't left Vigilon since the last attack, but their weight seemed to begin crushing him. Was this physical, or mental? What was all this, really? "..." Vigilon couldn't possibly accept defeat just yet. "It ain't over ti
  8. Vigilon found himself dodging more than attacking, but hey, it was a fair strategy for staying alive. On one successful, strong hit, the chains around the opponent's torso shattered, and the opponent's HP dropped to red. The enemy then seemed to utilize some kind of energy, and then, suddenly, Vigilon found himself stunned and paralyzed, and it was his HP that was now red, while his foe's HP was back to yellow. "You will fail, as you have done so in life. You failed to save your father, you could not save Ayaka without getting thrown away like garbage, you could not prevent Wardege's deat
  9. So this guy can't get stunned. Wonderful. Maybe he should hope Paralysis kicks in in his next attack. He then attacked with Astral Hell, nothing special happened, except for a minor flinch from his opponent, who proceeded to attack with his chains again. Vigilon found it difficult to dodge roll this time, but he barely managed to avoid another difficult attack. He then attacked with Calamitous Disaster, and some of the chains on his opponent's torso broke and fell to the ground. There was silence, and then both continued their assaults on one another. it seemed that Vigilon was able to de
  10. Vigilon's Sword did seem a bit heavy, though it didn't make very much sense that his light armor and his trinket had both shrunk with him, while the sword didn't...great, now he had to use both hands to swing his weapon at all times....unless this was only temporary, 'cause then he'd only need some time, so he could return to normal...a Stun Sword Art like Tempest should do the trick. "What makes you think that will work?" The enemy said, probably taunting or lying just to get under Vigilon's skin. "I don't know." Vigilon admitted. "But it's worth a try." With that, Vigilon atte
  11. Vigilon decided to try attacking the legs instead when he eventually rushed for his opponent, then went back to the torso just before striking. This actually worked, and it was too soon for his enemy to try blocking with the chains attached to his arms. The monster roared in anguish, then used his chains to- completely tear the fabric of reality?? The torn, open space began to seep out with...well, something. What poured out soon reached for Vigilon, and he was unable to avoid what he saw next... he saw all the times he didn't do something, thinking he wasn't able to. He saw all the
  12. Those chains were as heavy as they looked, all right. When he managed to get up, he saw that he needed to get the hell out of dodge. He rolled to his right and managed to avoid another chain attack. "I'm gonna have to think fast if I'm gonna get an advantage here... this guy swings ridiculously heavy chains that will knock my breath out of me and maybe even stun me. I've gotta steer clear of the chains around his arms, but if I could lay a scratch on the chains around his bulking torso, I might be able to get past them and reach the flesh, where I can slice through his vitals and deal more dam
  13. The monstrous figure got up from his bone throne, towering over Vigilon. "Only death and failure will follow your life." spoke a deep, booming voice. The midnight giant swung its arms, and the chains reached for Vigilon. He jumped back in an attempt to avoid the attack, and drew his weapon. Vigilon would try to use Galaxy Destroyer, but the enemy's HP didn't drop very much. However, the chains that were where Vigilon struck seemed to have been damaged slightly...maybe these chains served as some kind of destructible armor? "A foolish attempt." Vigilon's foe taunted. "Tough talk but that's
  14. Vigilon was a damage dealer, Astreya was a tank in training, and Krysta was both damage dealer and supporter. The three main roles were filled by this trio, it seemed. Now it was time to set out, and Astreya would go right to it. Krysta followed suit, and Vigilon took a deep breath before stepping out. Everything had changed, so who knows what this floor was like now...he probably wouldn't be able to navigate around the floors as easily as he used to, but maybe he would figure things out in due time. Krysta would offer her shield to Astreya, and Vigilon wondered if she was doing this because s
  15. Vigilon heard Krysta's words on him that were being spoken to Astreya. His face reddened slightly as a slight smile formed on his face. "That's really nice of you to say, Krysta." Vigilon added. "Might I add that you are incredible as ever? Caring and brave, beautiful and strong, a powerful heart...I can't see myself wanting to spend time with others as much as I want to spend time with you." He complimented, as he moved his right arm around Krysta, and placed his right hand on her shoulder. Wait, was he forgetting something important...? Oh, right, the map! He removed his arm, and opened
  16. Astreya would point out that the scroll had another side, which Vigilon wasn't expecting at first. With a confused expression, he turned the scroll around...and it fell apart. There was not one paper, but two, each was a different side of the scroll, and the two ends were no longer holding the sheets of old paper. Dang, if Vigilon had known this scroll was old from the start, he might have been more careful with it. Seeing that the parts that made up the scroll didn't shatter was a good sign, though. He looked at the paper and read its contents... Now the map and it's markings' meanings
  17. Vigilon was approached by a girl who seemed to mistake him for a newbie. The girl beamed as she introduced herself as Astreya. Vigilon smiled, though his answer might not be the anticipated one. "Nice to meet you, Astreya, I go by Vigilon. I've actually gone outside the safe zone before, in fact, I'm actually at what's apparently the level cap." He explained. Before he could continue, Krysta arrived, letting Vigilon know that she came as soon as she got the message, before turning to introduce herself to the other player. Veriost, Vigilon's small white frost dragon, poked her head o
  18. Vigilon was barely on the first floor anymore, but he decided to check it out anyway, since everything had changed. Who knows what else was going on, with all that's happened... He didn't see much of a difference in the Town of Beginnings, but there was always more to discover in a bustling city like this, especially since some players made their shops here. There wasn't really much he saw that was worth his while, until he met someone who was willing to trade with him...and what was offered? Some kind of scroll. He didn't look it over very much, but he intended to. For the time being, he
  19. Vigilon would enter a wide room, where his next battle was waiting for him. So he looked, and behold, a hulking horror of muscle and midnight, sitting atop a throne made from many minuscule bones. The chains he wore were called Gravity, bearing a crushing weight, and the name of the bulking giant was Insignificance; Futility. What a giant this thing looked like. It was difficult for Vigilon to describe such a twisted humanoid form that looked like it came from the void. It's muscular stature was one thing that could definitely be confirmed, but Vigilon had a hard time being able to t
  20. Vigilon would wander this environment, searching for another structure. Along the way, he would encounter some hostile entities like those metallic swarms, or those pesky sentry crystals. Hopefully there wouldn't be anything worse to fight, he was already having a hard enough time with them, since pain actually existed within the boundaries of the isle and its open labyrinth. He would soon come across an atypical structure, and head right over to its door. When he walked in through the entrance, the door closed and locked. Another fight was now imminent, from what he could guess. This hal
  21. Vigilon would then do as he'd planned. He moved swiftly and erratically, and managed to avoid all but two of the hostile lights that came from the crystal. He then attacked it with Calamitous Disaster, and it shattered. Vigilon took a deep breath and sighed with relief when it was over...so, now he had two strange objects to worry about around here. The crystal never moved, so clearly it was some kind of sentry. Vigilon moved on, continuing towards the tower that could be seen. When he finally reached it, he saw that there was a locked door...and only one lock was unlocked. "...Is this fo
  22. He began to make his way towards this strange tower, and he soon came across this strange crystal object. Well, it was odd that it was just sitting out in the open...but then suddenly, strange lights came from it, heading towards Vigi- "Aaaagh!" He hid immediately as soon as he realized this thing was dangerous...which is to say, after he got hit. "Ok...small red crystals, disturbing yet good. Large greenish-white crystals out in the field, bad...ok...ok." He noted aloud. Now how was he gonna move on with a crystal sentry just puppy guarding the area like this? Unless those blasts co
  23. Another "beware" line. What exactly was this "Meta", that everything in the Mindscape, even in this strange isle, feared it so much? Vigilon had no clue, but if there was one thing he did know, it was time to move on. When he checked the door that was locked when he entered, he saw that the door was unlocked. Well, that's one good thing, he supposed. He left the building, and was back in the mysterious labyrinth of metal and stone. Now that he thought about it, this mysterious open labyrinth was also very spacious...like some kind of settlement? Not that he could understand, this pla
  24. Vigilon decided to take a short moment to rest. After some time passed, some of the plushies...started moving? Yes, they were moving, but not a single one had a red cursor, so he might be safe. Animal-like noises came from the plushies, but nothing seemed intelligible just yet. One rabbit plush waddled its way over to Vigilon, who would look over to it, wondering why it was approaching him. It lifted something up, some kind of container. Vigilon hesitated, but he accepted it. Within the container were four crystalline red objects. Three small, one larger. The crystals were red like blood, and
  25. "Thank you so much for understanding me." Alyssa said. Her expression was now kind, and she was actually smiling. "Place your hands on my blade, and receive its blessing." Vigilon did as he was told, and Alyssa began to focus something. "May your Heart be stalwart through adversity, and may you be protected from harm..." Some of Vigilon's HP recovered, and he saw that he'd received a small increase in his defenses. Looks like he managed to get the good ending for this battle, and he was being rewarded with assistance for the next. He then watched in surprise as Alyssa then thrust her
