Krysta: I started this group chat to discuss events and make note of items being circulated among us. If any member of our fold is left out, any of us within can add them in.
Vigilon: Thanks, Krysta! Can't believe I didn't think about starting a group chat.
Krysta: By the way, I'll be giving you something soon, Vigilon. I have a feeling someone you find on your travels may need it. See you within half an hour.
Vigilon: I'll stay put for your arrival, then. :)@Vigilon Receives:

It has a simple silver colored hoodie jacket, with a blazing heart emblem on the back, as well as a knife pleat short skirt, red in color, not to mention a simple white u-neck shirt and the piece that makes this outfit count as light armor, a sleeveless vest made from silver dragonscale that compliments the outfit pretty well.Vigilon has added Astralin to the group chat.
Vigilon: Look who's joining us, Krysta!
Astralin: Haaaaaaiiiiiii!
Krysta: Welcome to the Rising Dragons, Astralin! I know we are not an official Guild just yet, but do not let that change a thing. We are delighted to have you here with us. -
Krysta gathered what she needed to bring. For now, she intended to watch as many fights as possible, but she was prioritizing the first battle, the one that Vigilon was involved in. She had to show her support somehow...furthermore, watching the others' battles may help Krysta learn a few new combat tactics to try out. "Alright...am I ready for the trip?" She asked herself. She intended to stay for the tournament until its conclusion for the time being, so she needed to make sure she had everything she needed. She checked herself in the mirror, made sure she had all her equipment on her person. She checked her inventory, making sure all she would need would be brought with her. With a nod of her head, she closed the inventory menu and walked over to change her shop's sign to "Closed" before heading out.
Vigilon v. Hirru - 9:30 AM
SpoilerKrysta arrived in time to witness the beginning of the event. Unfortunately the ruins were rather dirty, so to sit down on the seating would be no different from sitting upon earthen ground...not that there were any other options for the moment. The Announcer introduced Vigilon, but the manner in which this was done was unexpected. Vigilon the Dragon...odd, it had a fair ring to it, but Krysta had never heard such things until now. Krysta watched as Vigilon entered the ring. His opponent would be introduced, and he would enter as well. The two players exchanged remarks, before Vigilon started with a Charge Attack that completely disoriented his opponent. That Fallen Energy was never something Krysta was comfortable making contact with, but at least Vigilon had been able to put it to good, noble use thus far. So far, the battle was going in Vigilon's favor. "An excellent start, wonderful form." Krysta complimented from her seating, with a nod of her head. Vigilon truly did manage to make a good first impression. Now all he needed to do was keep up the momentum and Victory would be his.
Krysta heard the sound of flapping, and she looked to see Vigilon's Familiar, Kriana the small white Frost Dragon, flying over to Krysta's side. "Oh, Kriana, are you not fighting alongside Vigilon?" She asked the familiar. She wasn't sure what the tournament's rulings were on familiars, but for now she would let Kriana stay close for the time being. Yolviinsil, Krysta's small ruby red feathered Dragon, poked her head out from behind Krysta, her gaze meeting Kriana's. Yolviinsil slowly climbed down Krysta and reached her friend. The two familiars would proceed to exchange soft, friendly growls with each other, as though they were having conversation. Krysta chuckled, for it was a cute sight. She then looked back to the battle, for it was not over yet.
Vigilon would continue his assault with a well placed strike that applied ailments to his opponent, who in turn readied his shield. What the green haired player did not expect was for...wait, did Vigilon just speak those words? He only ever spoke them in serious fights when...
Krysta watched as the battle reached its climax. Vigilon leaped over the guarding player and struck him from behind, following with a flurry of attacks. While the tank would manage to stun Vigilon afterwards, the ailments left him helpless, he would not survive another attack. The green haired tank would then concede the battle, and the host would officially call it. It was a swift match, which went on to show how the two had grown, and they each seemed to do so, in different ways. Perhaps the tank's hand was not optimal for battling players, so this would surely be a chance for both players to learn and grow. Krysta hoped that her observations would give her a chance to learn new tactics, as well as be present to support her boyfriend. Krysta would take a moment and use her hands to applaud the efforts of both players.
Krysta chose to get some concessions while waiting for the next battle. While she was taking a look, she noticed the great array of cupcakes, all adorned with the faces of the competitors, including Vigilon. For a moment, she stared at the cupcakes, mainly the ones with Vigilon's face.
Before long, she found herself with a Vigilon cupcake in her hands, in the middle of the distance between the arena seating and the concessions. She stared at it, as though she were unsure of what to do. To eat or not to eat, why was this such an odd question? Was it the fact that a depiction of Vigilon's face was on it? She blinked, she stared, she contemplated.
...And out of the blue she just simply opened her mouth wide and popped it in, the whole thing, as if there were hardly a rational thought. She'd never had such a treat before, it was a tad unusual for her.She would return to the seating to find Vigilon sitting next to where she was sitting earlier, with both the familiars in sight, too. "Vigilon? What are you doing here? I thought you would only be competing." She asked. She took her seating next to him, but was still confused.
But for now, at least, it may be best to omit what had happened with the cupcake.

[Day 32] [2/5/2025]
Business was starting to slow, so Krysta thought that making Vanity Clothing for everyday wear might help, even if it only brought in NPCs. If Layered Armor or Layered Outfits became a thing, it would be easy for Krysta to get business from everyone, but alas, this was not that kind of game.
Before Krysta could consider her options further, another customer came through. She would ask if Krysta took custom orders. "Of course. What would you like?" Krysta responded. The customer went into detail for what she was looking for. Krysta smiled, for this woman had a good eye. "Absolutely. I shall get to it at once."
If only the world could truly follow her lead when she was working, however. With the personal skill she'd developed over the years, she would have succeeded first try, but the game had a system, and for Krysta's first two attempts, said system would disrupt her twice, forcing her to start over. Once she had what the customer had requested, she checked it for any mistakes, then brought the item back to the counter, where the customer was waiting. "There we are, here is what you've requested." She began. "Also, if I may add, you certainly have exquisite taste." She complimented. It truly was a tasteful piece.

Yona spoke up, about some obscure ruin that, based on the name that Krysta had once heard of, may have been located on this floor, if she remembered the rumors correctly. "You mean the old structure that is guarded by an unnaturally giant Guardian Fire Antman?" Krysta asked. "If I remember, a party of tier three players tried to take it on and failed. You might want to make sure you are a tier four player before assembling a party to take it on...I would say I am willing to help if you lack the numbers you will need. I can also offer healing, if needed." She decided.
The other players were silent for a short moment. Shulko returned with everything that had been ordered, and Alanin would speak up. "Please do not tell me you are reading into it..."
Alanin looked to Yona, then to Shulko. "Yona was just telling us about a ruin she wanted to explore, the ruins of...Vindemia, was it?" He explained. "Krysta also revealed the monster's identity, as apparently a party of tier three players had tried to battle it and ended up falling short. She said it was a giant, guardian Fire Antman."
Shulko seemed to be in thought for a moment. He then waved to the NPC waitress. "Hey, Avi, I got a question for ya."
The NPC walked right over. "What is it, Shulko?" She asked. "I wanted to run something by you. See, my friends here just started talking about some rumor about a ruin guarded by a giant fire antman. Know anything about it?" He asked. The NPC's expression was nearly a deadpan. "The ruins of Vindemia? Our paladins tried to get in once, but they didn't stand a chance." She revealed. "If anything, I'd say..."
The NPC looked to Alanin, then to Aurami, then finally to Yona. "Three of you might need further training if you don't want to be found wanting by recklessly charging the beast." She added. "I wish I knew more, but that creature has been guarding the place for hundreds of years, no one's beaten it yet...or bothered to, anyway." She finished, with a shake of her head. Shulko nodded. "Aight, thanks a bunch, Avi. You're a great help." He said with a smile and a thumbs-up. The NPC would return to her duties, and Shulko would look back to the players at the table. "Well, you heard her, best to put the expedition on the shelf for now. We can prep for it of course, but until we're all tier four we might want to hold off on it for now. We can try a two-party expedition when we're all ready, how's that?" He asked. The players gathered all nodded their heads in approval. The players would engage in lively conversation for the remainder of their time in Shulko's establishment. Yona chose to offer desserts all on her tab, getting some laughter from Shulko and an awkward chuckle from Alanin, who did not think this was a competition. Koharu and Aurami, of course, were delighted at Yona's generous offer.
When all was said and done, Krysta was the first to leave. As she walked through the streets of Taft, she pondered all the day's events as the later stages of noon began to arrive. When she returned to her shop, she made for the upstairs that was her personal quarters, and looked out the window into the horizon. "I wonder...when should I tell them...when should I tell him...my true identity..."
The revelation would need to be inevitable, all that mattered for now was timing, relationship, and most importantly, Trust.

The NPC would return once the players were ready. The Cardinal's timing to have the NPC return to the table was rather impeccable. Yona and Koharu made their orders first. Krysta was uncertain at first, but she found herself confident in the choice she'd make. "I am in the mood for some roast mutton, so I will be having that, please." She requested.
Alanin would speak up next. "Something light, like some warm smoked salmon would do just fine for the moment." He decided. "And, put this on my tab if you will, I'd like to get some warm rolls for the table." He added.
Aurami took a few seconds to speak up. "I...I would like the Spiced Pheasant, please..." She requested.
The NPC nodded her head. "I see. Will that be all for now?" She asked. The players all nodded their heads. "Alright then."
Krysta looked over to Alanin after the NPC left. "Old habits die hard, I presume?" She asked with a smile. Alanin chuckled. "They do indeed, you saw right through me." He remarked. "I believe it is only fair I do my part to ensure our time here ends on a high note." He added. -
Alanin gave his thoughts, and it seemed that he now wished to meet Vigilon personally. Krysta was unsure of this, for she currently had no knowing of what may happen if the two were to meet.
The conversation between Koharu and Aurami continued. "So wait, you had a crush on him?" Aurami asked. Koharu nodded. "Still do." She answered. Aurami blinked, looked to Krysta and then back to Koharu. "I...don't you think that makes this situation a bit, I don't know...awkward, I guess? I mean, Shulko introduced Krysta as Vigilon's girlfriend, wouldn't that complicate things?" She pointed out. Koharu's expression did not change. "Well, yeah, kind of. We had all recently finished a debate. I still wanted in on the relationship anyway, so I wanted to see if letting us both have him was an option." She explained.
Aurami's eyes were widened, and her mouth was open slightly. "I'm not sure that's the best idea...please tell me you've let him know about this, he'll be a mess if you didn't! He hates hurting good people and their feelings!" She responded.
Krysta sipped her tea calmly. "We know." She began. "If he does not know, I will make it clear to him." She stated. Koharu now wanted to reassure them both. "I'm sure he knows by now, I did kinda unintentionally confess my feelings...and I may have also proposed the potential option of letting me in while still dating Krysta..." She revealed. "So...yeah, I think he knows."Aurami did not appear to be entirely calm, but she did seem to be somewhat relieved to a small extent. "Oh...Vigilon must be feeling so much pressure right now..." She thought aloud. Krysta seemed to notice that Aurami may have been feeling sympathy towards Vigilon in this moment. "There's no telling what he might do...all we can hope is that he won't hurt himself trying to find the best solution for everyone else..."
"Aurami..." Krysta began. "He has a strong and kind heart. I am certain he can avoid damaging his own heart for our sakes."
Aurami took in a deep inhale, then slowly let out a long exhale. -
Yona's remark on Vigilon did not help in the current situation, especially after the debate that had gone down just before the players even came here.
The NPC would arrive with the players' drinks, even Yona's. Krysta sipped her tea, as the other players took interest in the newcomer, while trying not to overwhelm her. "It's nice to meet more of Vigilon's other friends, I hope we can get along well." Koharu noted. "Shulko may call me Sakura, but my username is Koharu." She added. Alanin chose to wait.
Aurami looked to Koharu. "If you don't mind me asking...how did you come to know Vigilon?" She asked. Koharu must have had an answer for this quickly, based on how her eyes lit up. "Oh! We met back in middle school." She began. "I remember when he used to wear a ball cap, he always turned it around whenever things got serious! He probably thought it made him look cool, though I thought it was really cute!" She added with a chuckle.
Aurami let out a soft chuckle as well. "He wore one during his freshman year in high school, too! I remember when he turned it around just for a confrontation, as someone had been ruining nearly everyone's reputation for their own benefit." She added. Koharu was getting a little excited. "So he's generally been the same...helping people out whenever something was wrong... Did he ever help you out of a tight spot directly?" She asked.
Aurami hesitated. "He...he did, actually..." She began. "The student body had a habit of dividing, and when they divided during what they called the 'War of Pranks' in our junior year, I stepped aside as to remain neutral. I helped out April's side the year before, but taking a neutral stance then made me appear like an enemy to her loyalists...April herself didn't judge my actions, but some of her closest girl friends did...when they were about to 'teach me a lesson', Vigilon stepped in, placing himself in front of me and taking the hit. Only two of them decided to continue trying to get past him, so it became a nasty brawl...but when it was over, he came over to me and asked me if I was okay." She explained. "After I explained the situation, he offered me a place in his friend group, and assured me that I'd have nothing to worry about...while I was initially worried about Amelia, who always sided against April, she also seemed to accept me, and we were able to befriend each other...I'm not sure if April and I are still friends today, but she seemed to be very understanding." She added.
Koharu seemed to have a look in her eyes, as though she had complete recognition of what Aurami had been through... "Oh wow..." She seemed to be gathering her thoughts. "I...was saved from a similar position." She began. "My grandparents were immigrants, so I was raised with two cultures. The mixed culture I as a person ended up with, wasn't exactly appreciated by this one group of people at the time...they were students attending the school like Vigilon, Shulko and I were, and one day they decided enough was enough, they didn't want me around, they wanted me to either change to be like them, or leave to never return...when they threatened violence, Vigilon came in to stop them. I managed to get away...I was told he was able to last for a while and really did a number on them when they attacked him. He lost the fight, but chances are, he may have saved my life." She revealed. "I'd always seen him as a great person, but I think that was when I realized...that I had a huge crush on him."Krysta sipped her tea as she listened to the two girls open up about their experiences, and how Vigilon had saved them both from threat of violence by taking their position, and defending himself when he was attacked. "So...Alex was always the heroic sort, then...helping others in their time of need, stepping in when others are committing wrongdoing..." She thought. "If only...a certain sort of people would be willing to accept him as I would..." She realized.
-
Krysta was confused as to why Yona would choose wine at this hour. It was not considerably far into the day, it was merely after noon. What was the point of her choice?
A girl approached the table, appearing somewhat nervous.
Spoiler"Um, excuse me..." She began shyly. "Do you mind if I sat here with you?" She asked.
Alanin's eyes lit up. "I do not mind at all. Here, let me bring you a seat." He got up immediately and picked up the nearest empty seat for her. He then looked to her as if asking where she wanted the seat. The girl slowly pointed towards the spot next to Krysta, and Alanin would acknowledge her request, though there was reluctance in his eyes, for whatever reason...
Yona would make a remark that may have been jumping to conclusions, drawing mild shock from Alanin's expression, and causing the girl to look at the ground shyly as she blushed in mild embarrassment."Do you come to this place often?" Koharu asked, hoping to make some light conversation. The girl did not make eye contact. "No...This is my first time here...I heard a friend of mine works here is all..."
After a brief moment, Shulko would leave the kitchen to rejoin the players at the table. His expression would change as he seemed to recognize the new girl. "Sweetheart, is that you?" He asked.
The girl turned to see Shulko. She gave a mild wave and a soft smile. "Yes, it's me, hi..." she answered. Shulko would take his seat. "Well, I suppose some introductions are in order. This here's a friend of mine, and of Vigilon's, I don't know her username just yet but I call her Sweetheart." He said to the other players at the table. He would look to the girl and gesture with his free hand to each player he introduced. "Well first, there's Sakura, I've told you about her from time to time, nice for you two to finally meet. Then there's Princess, Red Eyes's' girlfriend, I bet you'd both get along well. There's Lancelot over there, I'd bet he gave you his attention immediately..."
Alanin was not expecting to get nicknamed by Shulko, nor was this a nickname he'd expect if he even knew. He was about to raise his finger in protest, but he seemed to fail at coming up with any argument at this time.
"And then there's Yona here, don't know what to call her yet, she seems like a fun type so far." Shulko continued. "And, well, that's about everyone at the moment, there was also this other person, but she kinda left in a huff after the debate we all just had. Anyway, I bet this is a lot to take in at once, anything I can do that'll help?" He asked. The girl shook her head. "I'm fine for now, thank you..."
Shulko looked back to the other players. "Word of advice, try not to overwhelm her, she's not super-comfortable with people she doesn't know very well, give her some time and she'll be willing to chat...I think." Shulko then looked back to the girl. "Need anything to drink right now? These guys are getting stuff on the house, but I'll go ahead and cover you too." He asked. The girl then took a few seconds to think. "I...think I'll have the Lemon Starfruit blend." She decided. Shulko nodded. "Alright then. I'll be back, Avi will bring you the drinks soon. Y'all play nice, ok?" He said before returning to the kitchen. After half a minute of silence, the girl spoke again. "M-my username is Aurami..." She introduced. "It's...a pleasure to meet you..."
"A pleasure to meet you too, Aurami. I am Krysta." Krysta responded. "It is nice to be able to meet more of Vigilon's friends." She added. She was surprised that so many people who Vigilon knew had ended up in this game. Was the world truly that small?
-
With Yona's agreement, the five would make their way over to Shulko's Tavern, The Carefree Magpie.
Once inside, Shulko would bring the group over to a nice round table that could seat them all. "I'll be back with ya once I've handled the orders, for now, take a gander at what I've got available, Avi will probably be with you shortly." He explained.
Right, he owned this establishment, so naturally he'd have to be the primary contributor to its work.
The four players would get seated as Shulko made a beeline for the kitchen. He would stop for a short moment to speak with a pink haired NPC behind the bar, then he would enter the kitchen.Soon, a woman with sky blue hair, who turned out to be an NPC, approached the players at the table. "Welcome to the Carefree Magpie." She greeted. "Is there anything I can get you started with?" She asked.
Krysta would give the NPC her attention. "I would like a Green Tea, please." She answered. Alanin would raise his hand to be next. "Just some water for now, thank you." He answered. The NPC would then look to the other two, awaiting their responses. -
Yona would ask if anyone had anything else planned. Krysta was unsure of what to do at the current moment, however. Shulko stretched and put his arms behind his head. "I dunno about you, but I'm feeling a bit bushed...mentally speaking, of course. If you'd like, you guys could crash at my place, The Carefree Magpie, for at least a bit. I'll offer you an order of food and drink on the house, how about it?" He suggested.
"I'll pass." Ellyria decided. She began to walk towards the exit, but she stopped suddenly, turning her head to look towards two players in particular. "Krysta...Yona. I have a feeling we will meet again, but when we do..." The look in the eye that was visible to the other five players spoke a mood of ill will. "It is I who shall emerge in victory."
With that, Ellyria made a flare up of her deep blue cape, and suddenly vanished, as though she'd just used a teleport crystal. From Krysta's point of view, she'd just wasted a teleport crystal for a dramatic exit.Koharu decided to lighten the mood with her own answer to the offer. "Well, I'm in. I'm sure we all could use a nice break after that debate." She said with a bright smile. "I suppose it would be nice to sit down to a nice meal and a conversation where we are not against one another." Alanin remarked. "I accept the offer."
Krysta was in thought for a short moment, as the debate itself was already plenty for her to process. However, that did not stop her from giving her own answer as well. "I will also take you up on that offer, thank you for your generosity."
-
Yona would bring up the trope of Love Triangles into the argument. Oddly enough, a Triangle was what caused this debate in the first place. Ellyria and Koharu gave their thoughts on the subject.
"..."
Krysta chose not to speak.
The discussion continued, and the sides seemed to blend into a neutrality. The opposing side acknowledged both views of the debate, and while it was done as to counter against Ellyria once again, Krysta could not help but feel...understood.
"..."
Krysta chose not to add.
Alanin had little else to say, judging by his expression. Yona would give out a statement as if completing all her contributions to the debate. Upon this, Khavius would look to the six participants. "Would anyone else like to add another point, or give another statement?" He asked.
Silence.
Khavius then nodded his head. "Well then, the statement that Yona gave sounds like a fair place to end on. I'd say this was a rather...interesting debate. I hope that this discussion proves helpful and that it should help to settle the...personal matter that started it." He decided. "Since there is nothing else to say, I declare this debate over. Dismissed." He stated, before pounding the gavel on the deck of his stand once more. The debate was now over, and those who had gathered in the Hall of Countenance would begin to leave the building.
-
Krysta was suppressing a chuckle of her own, not that she had a clue as to what Koharu and Shulko were referencing. Alanin's expression went from a half-smile to a full smile. Ellyria was deadpanning, she was probably judging them silently, if her behavior and demeanor throughout the discussion could say anything about it. When the amusement settled down, Alanin would speak. "There is still another matter that may occur with a relationship involving multiple partners." He began.
"Clearly, it’s the difference between two aspects of the romantic field: Love vs. Infatuation. There is also the aspect of intimacy, and how someone is going to be able to experience intimate relationships with all who are involved." Ellyria claimed. Alanin gave no response, and his expression seemed to show that it was the very point he was about to make. Perhaps because it came from the same side of the discussion as him, he felt no need to intervene...even if it was Ellyria.Krysta nodded. "With only one partner, it’s simple and worry-free. With multiple, you would be taking excessive risk, as one would need to spend time with each and every partner involved…and they would all need equal treatment, if one was to avoid jealousy by having a favorite, be it purposely or accidentally. Time is a valuable resource, and unfortunately, not everyone has enough to reasonably spare for more than one partner without over exerting themselves." She explained. Perhaps some practical scenarios would help to get her point across.
Ellyria was tapping her free hand with her pointer once again. "Not to mention, wouldn’t it get pretty risky if people took certain actions of intimacy too far or too often, even if they did have the time?" She added.Shulko blinked. "And? Even that is a case-by-case basis. Not every relationship with multiple partners is gonna have plenty of that. Every relationship has risks, and various actions taken in relationships come with responsibilities that the people involved have to take. If they’re not willing to take responsibility for their actions, then they won’t last very long in the relationship because either there’s no actual commitment or they're throwing caution to the wind." He pointed out.
Ellyria nodded. "Indeed, they’d be getting drunk on neurochemicals…or even seek drunkenness or highs so that there’s no ‘real shame’ in a certain action too often." She added.Um, that was not necessary...
"Objection!"
"But even monogamists have done these things. Relationship type matters little in cases like that. There are those who love because they’re actually in love, and there are those who ‘love’ and seek instant gratification after feeling an infatuation." She pointed out. While Ellyria seemed to understand what Koharu had said, it also appeared that there was something for her to point out.
"Hold it!"
"Aren’t you currently infatuated with Vigilon?" Ellyria asked.
Koharu nodded, but that was not all she would respond with. "Infatuation can blossom into love, but that’s part of why spending time with the person or even dating them can help you gauge the situation and figure out whether or not you’re actually in love with them." She noted.
Ellyria appeared to be somewhat confused. "So, ‘Mess around and find out’? That’s a poor way to handle the issue." She remarked.
Shulko shook his head. "‘Mess around and find out’ is also a simplified explanation of the scientific method. Say the hypothesis is that you’re in love, so you begin dating to see whether or not it’s true. Infatuation wears off after a while, but true love doesn’t. The time when the infatuation wears off will definitely put the relationship to the test. Obviously, breakups can tug at heartstrings or hurt people emotionally, I can’t deny that…but it allows for growth, too. No pain, no gain." He explained. There was much to take in...and much for Krysta to consider.
-
Yona would add to the topic of children and parenting, and proceeded to mention a fragment of her past, how they wished for a perfect child, but ended up with two children who could not meet said expectations.
"Then you simply had terrible parents with unattainable expectations." Krysta remarked.
With a sip of her coffee, Yona continued her contribution. Once she was finished, Alanin believed it was time to shift gears within the topic once again. He proposed a question, a real-world problem that would not tolerate any careless answers. Shulko and Yona both seemed to be on the belief that communication and compromise were the best possible option, though neither one mentioned a word on how unlikely they could solve the problem...while it may have been the best possible option if attempting to avoid any damaged hearts, it would not be likely to succeed.
Koharu gave her own two col on the subject before bringing it back around to the matter at hand that sparked the debate in the first place, while still keeping it relevant to the current area of the discussion.
Krysta nodded. "It is true, I am strictly Heterosexual. I appreciate that you’re trying to help me understand, Koharu. Really, I do. I just hope you can understand if I am still not convinced by the end of this debate, which is likely." She noted. Ellyria took a deep breath through her nostrils. "I do not envy a single one of you."Koharu seemed to ignore what Ellyria just said, and would look to Krysta as she made her reply. "There's always time for us both to consider everything we heard and take time before finalizing our decisions. Regardless of what ends up happening, I’m pretty sure we can be great friends." She said with a smile. Krysta nodded her head as she smiled back. "You seem to be a good-hearted woman. Despite this difference between us, I do believe we may be able to get along." She decided.
Alanin's eyes were closed as he seemed to be in thought. "I’ll admit, I never expected the debate to get as heated as it is now…" He remarked. He then pointed to Yona and Ellyria, who were currently glaring at each other. "Primarily because of these two."
Shulko chuckled. "Don't situations like their current hateship spawn certain kinds of fan fictions?" He remarked with a smirk. Krysta deadpanned. "I do not think that is a situation that can be taken so lightly, Shulko." She noted.
-
The debate became more heated...mainly between Yona and Ellyria. The two would have their little exchange, in which Yona seemed to be doing well. Once the two had finished, Khavius looked to each side of the debate. "Is there anything else in regards to the subject that any of you would like to bring up?" He asked.
Alanin would raise his hand. "Go on, then." Khavius stated. Alanin nodded his head in thanks. "Let’s move on to an important topic regarding relationships, if they ever go a certain direction: Children. How are they to be properly cared for if there are multiple partners?" He questioned.Koharu raised her hand. "I'll take that question." She stated. "So, I'd say everyone can cover each other's weaknesses in terms of raising the children, or maybe they can prefer that the birth parents do most of the work in raising their children. There could be other methods that aren’t coming off the top of my head, but I’m sure the people in the relationship can come up with a solution they can agree on. Like Yona said, as any other committed relationship, it takes communication, consent, and effort for a whole lot of things." She explained.
Krysta thought for a moment. There were some things that needed to be asked in regards to that. "Talking out how a household will operate is vital to any successful relationship, though I will need to ask, how do you think the children themselves will behave?" She questioned. "They are their own people, and thus they may end up preferring someone other than their birth parent to be the one to nurture them. Such an act is likely to instill jealousy within the birth parent, and thus even if the relationship managed to survive to marriage, there would be more and greater risks in the long run, should it become a family bearing children." She pointed out.
Koharu nodded understandingly. "That’s a fair point, but children in general are unpredictable at times. They’re innocent and still learning. Being unable to get what they want from one parent may cause them to lean to another parent, but is it really the birth parent’s fault in that case?" She noted.
"If I may add," Shulko began. "Polygamy operates with a lot of case-by-case scenarios. Monogamy has some too, but there are plenty more with Poly. Not everything can be planned out, there’s always gonna be a monkey wrench somewhere in every relationship. It’s a risk, sure, but isn’t that what everything is, at the end of the day? He added. All good points. While Krysta was not willing to waver at this moment, this debate was doing its job once again, an exchange and discussion of ideals, allowing others to learn more about each other and their points of view, regardless of how they differ, in a civil and respectful manner. Knowing this, Krysta began to feel at ease.
-
Ellyria's latest "Objection!" had left Yona feeling considerably peeved. In fact, Yona was peeved to the point of speaking out a rant against Ellyria's alleged point of view. Ellyria was bending her pointer close to the breaking point, and had clearly been angered. The situation was now becoming concerning, and it would not be out of the question if Yona and Ellyria were to become enemies at this rate.
Shulko chuckled, and tried to make light of the situation, whilst bringing the conversation back on topic. Ellyria then proceeded to speak some quotations she'd claimed to have heard from philosophers. Shulko would give his response, then Alanin would take a turn to speak."Objection!"
"It’s not stupid, it’s natural. There’s a reason why 'a bad apple spoils the whole bunch' is a phrase." He pointed out.
Krysta thought for a moment, then she had something to add. "Honestly, the only times Polygamy have ever seemed to work were all within fiction. It’s easy to fabricate a healthy relationship that works out because in that case you are the one in control. Real human beings are far more susceptible to certain issues such as jealousy, envy, or toxicity. If you can prove to me that it’s possible in reality, however, I invite you to try." She stated.
Alanin nodded. "Unfortunately, it is commonly known that Open Relationships fall into the category of Polyamory, so it’s no wonder that it would muddle its name or term, assuming it even had a good name to begin with." He added. Krysta had a question to ask the opposing side of the debate. "…Tell me, what is the current success rate for Polygamy? Do you know?" She wondered if they would have an answer for this.Oddly enough, they did not. Koharu's eyes were wide, Shulko appeared to be sweating nervously, and Yona seemed to be unamused. Ellyria noticed this silence, and seemed to take it as a success for her side of the argument. "You don’t have an answer for that, do you?" She asked.
-
"..."
The debate continued, though Krysta was finding herself with less and less to say as the debate went on. The voices and activity she was putting in became more and more mental than verbal. Despite this, the debate continued as there was more to be said by, honestly, all six participants.
Ellyria continued tapping her free hand with her pointer as she continued the discussion. "Relationships as a whole have become high risk for toxic interaction. Look how many people have even failed to keep a stable monogamous relationship, and see that Polygamy, Polyamory and Open Relationships are far worse in comparison. If it’s more than one, it’s hedonism, and in this day and age, for love in general? I don’t recommend it." She claimed.
Koharu sighed. "Polyamory has held a bad rap, mainly due to some individual people who use the term as a front for their open relationships…which is basically their excuse for just constant cheating, especially if the person in question intends to only settle with one…it’s not right, and they give little to no effort. Real relationships, be it Monogamy or Polygamy, takes effort and commitment. If someone’s not willing to commit, then there’s a problem." She counterpointed.Krysta nodded her head. "I actually agree with you in that a real relationship takes effort and commitment. It would appear almost as though nothing was serious in culture anymore, it is all…casual, short lived, never lasting, and many have even come close to giving up… It disgusts me that people would turn to hedonism, out of desperation for an imagined paradise they will never have." She added.
Shulko took another sip from his energy drink. "If anything, it’s good that Princess and Sakura started this debate. They’re willing to talk it out and exchange ideas. We set our stances, show what we know and what we believe…and in a case like this, it will mean that whatever becomes of Red Eyes’ love life, everyone will have agreed and consented to it." He noted. "Gotta love civil courses of action." Ellyria was silent for the time being, but it appeared that she was coming up with words, and gears were turning in her head. Alanin nodded his head. "It’s true, though, it is a healthy course of action taken towards the relationship. We can’t let whatever pain we’ve been through blind us." He added."Objection!"
"'Healthy' as your actions may be, how are we to know that Vigilon is handling this properly as well? I’d mentioned earlier that chances are, he can’t say no. This is not a healthy trait. He’ll need to make up his mind, of his own accord. He needs to solidify what it is that he believes in, and act upon it. Otherwise, he’ll be harming himself, and possibly the both of you as a result." Ellyria pointed out.
...Say, aren't objections supposed to be reserved for responding to the opposing side of the argument? This was rather unusual.
Koharu crossed her arms. "Who are you to tell us how to live our lives? Have you ever had feelings for a guy, one who’s sweet, gentle, and willing to help you out or protect you because you’re important, and he’s able to count on you to help out in return?" She responded.
"No.", came Ellyria's answer.
"Oh...ok then..." Koharu spoke.Shulko let out a sigh. "Look, I trust Red Eyes can make his own decision. I get the feeling that you’ve got a bias, be it one of pain and trauma, or maybe some complex of superiority, I dunno. But…you don’t really like us, do you?" He asked. Ellyria's angered expression spoke for her.
Koharu continued the conversation. "As was noted before, Polyamory isn’t just 'Sleep around with fifty-plus lovers without any consequences', that’s an unrealistic fantasy that people with no self-control have. It’s possible to be committed to more than one partner and still have self-control." She stated. "Fantasies that are far from reality, that I can’t deny, but not all of what people call Polygamy or Polyamory fits that. It’s possible to have a healthy, committed, consensual relationship with multiple partners. I’m not doing this debate just because I wanna win or anything, I just want to exchange sides of the story so that the issue can be resolved peacefully, regardless of what the result ends up being." She explained."Objection!"
Twice in a row...this could not be good.
"Most of Man have failed humanity. Whether one is superior or not depends on the individual." Ellyria said to Shulko. To the discussion in general, she would continue... "Many in this day and age are selfish and undeserving, and there are many who would ignore the truth and openly despise those who would speak it. I have grown a distaste for many in general, because of what they have done, and because they believe they can rule others as well as themselves. What they need is a sensible figure above who can keep them in line, and society as a whole will benefit. Polyamory may not be the 'Open relationships' that even you are disgusted by, but it is still a form of hedonistic greed and lust, even if it is at a mild, 'tolerable' level. People who are 'Nice' tend to be so for the sake of either acceptance from the community, or to win someone over into whatever fantasies they have. If you are to date anyone at all, choose Monogamy, otherwise you’ll be falling into the fantasized, unattainable ideologies like the rest of the common rabble." She declared.
*Take That!*
Koharu was shocked by the aggression in Ellyria's statement, Khavius had his forehead resting in his palm as he tapped the deck of his stand with the gavel he pulled out earlier, most likely a nonverbal notice that Ellyria might be on her way to a second intervention and warning.
Shulko appeared to be highly disgruntled. "…Jeez, lady, lighten up, would ya?" He asked.
-
Khavius looked at the current situation and where it was going. Shulko would do the same. "…Aren’t we getting a little off track here?" He asked.
Krysta would take a moment to think after hearing Ellyria's alleged rant, then would give her thoughts on it. "Despite Ellyria’s claims, she does have some points. While there have been some forms of media that tugged on my heartstrings, I am aware of the differences. Not everyone seems willing to see the difference, and thus the lines between Fantasy, Ideology, and Reality become muddled. I shan’t judge whether or not someone should date, yet the amount of people seeking fantasies that do not exist is increasing rapidly. Oddly enough, this issue’s effects are not equal to the two genders, depending on culture." She explained.
Shulko chuckled. "We really do need true gender equality, don't we?" He remarked. "Agreed." Koharu added with a smile.
Ellyria's eyes were closed, her stance still rigid as ever as the pointer she'd pulled out was tapping her free hand. "Equality sounds nice, on the surface. Equity sounds like a better option, however." She stated. Krysta blinked, Alanin appeared to be unsure what to think, Shulko and Koharu seemed a bit worried, and Krysta could have sworn she heard Yona groan and proceed to faceplant on the deck of her stand. Terms that had differing meanings on different perspectives would surely be lost in the thoughts of division. The subject needed to be changed, and quickly!Alanin brought the conversation back to the topic at hand. "I believe Monogamy is far more selective than Polygamy will ever be. There is less commitment in Polygamy than there is in Monogamy." He stated. Shulko shook his head. "Nah, you can be just as selective, and just as committed. Personally, I think it’ll work out if everyone involved can help each other out, count on each other, and keep each other happy. Even Polygamy has limits though, otherwise it’s just open relationship." He noted. Alanin tilted his head slightly, then straightened up and made his response. "I understand where you are coming from, but there is a point where I must disagree. A beloved cannot feasibly handle more than a handful of lovers, if we’re placing realistic limits on it. However, it’s usually a major risk, which makes Monogamy a more practical, safer option. 'Make sure to have just one wife. Any more and you’ll destroy your life.'" He then waited for the next person to speak.
Krysta would take a deep breath before adding her next contribution. "Numerous cultures have had their reasons to do some things and avoid others. While different people in the same culture can have different beliefs, it doesn't mean they can't have good points to support their causes. Speaking of different cultures, here is a phrase spoken as a proverb of the native american people: 'Chase two rabbits, and you will lose them both.'” She added. -

[PP-F11 EV] <<Fatal Error>>(Support) Rising Dragons Search and Rescue
in Intermediate Floors
Posted · Edited by Krysta
Krysta had only been making preparations to confront this dreadful evil when the enemy arrived on the floor, leaving her to simply pick up and go, and as fate would have it, wading through the crowd would only bring her to The Carefree Magpie. Here, she would learn not only had the catastrophe indeed leaked into this floor, but the fact that most of the players currently within Taft had been pushed outside the safe zone, possibly against their will in some cases, in a desperate attempt to push back against a sudden, mobilized swarm of corrupted antmen advancing towards the city. She would spend a short time tending to any frightened or injured individual that entered the building, player and NPC alike. Astralin arrived and decided to help Krysta with the situation, putting her healing skills to use, lightening the load that was already upon both Krysta and Aurami.
Twenty four minutes passed, and Vigilon would arrive on the scene. Shulko would address him, and explain to him the situation. Vigilon agreed to help, though he noted he would need assistance from one or two with healing capabilities. Shulko would request for Krysta and Astralin to assist Vigilon on his Search and Rescue mission. Krysta silently thanked God for this chance, for she had felt he intense desire to be involved in a more practical manner, to be out there saving and protecting the people where and when they needed her most. She got up from her position, and walked over to Vigilon. "I am already set. Ready to depart when you are." She stated.
Shulko would reveal a few other details. "Freewind's leading a party taking the fight to the antmen, Wise Guy's out there gathering Intel, Dual-Wing's got her hands full making defensive siege weapons. I'd say we've all got our hands full over here. Any help we get at all would be amazing. Maybe with some more out there on the field, there can be fewer chances of casualties." He revealed. "Understood," Krysta replied. "We shan't let you down."
