She smiled a little. Nothing feels more awkward hearing someone telling her that she’s a smart person. She doesn’t think anyone isn’t smart it just takes time and focus to be successful.

“Thanks… But don’t let yourself down. Everyone can be smart. You just have to push yourself into doing what you want to do in your life.”

With that thought she continued on until she found more herbs that she attempts to pull but failed. It’s coming to the point now where no matter what the game decides to roll it doesn’t want her to finish the quest any time soon. But for now, she would continue moving forward. Dusting off her dress as well as straightening up her rapier.

“So what make Zack pick music for something he want’s to do for a living?”

She asked with curiosity. It’s to often someone was flat down wanting to me a musician unless their parents forced it onto them as a child.

She laughed with her as they continued to look as there was one directly next to it a couple of feet always. But as always it didn’t want to budge. Getting up off the ground and brushes the dust off of her she continues on with what they were talking about.

“I was always interested in how the brain worked. So I started looking up degrees I could go for and Neuroscience was the one. I’m not sure what path I want to go down with after. A lot like to be brain surgeons but I don’t want to go to deep into the medical. I enjoy the sciences.”

But before she was able to continue she decided to head back to Alex.

“Alex went to go to the US and study engineering. In case you were wondering. I know you talked about what Zack did figured I added that in.”

She started laughing a little before they continue to search.

She laughed a little while they talked about these boys of theirs. It wasn’t to often you’re able to have these conversations and it actually make searching herbs fun after a while.

“Hey you know Zack doesn’t sound like a bad guy. He just wanted to spend all the time with you.”

The only thing that she had to go with Alex was the times they spent hanging out for student council . Then it hit her. College… She wasn’t ready for it since being trapped in here. Knowing how things going to be if they ever leave the game the government will shoved all the survivors that are minors into a school and have them get “caught up” or in Etherial’s case… Prepping for college. She wasn’t to far away from graduating it was only the stage of prepping for college.  

“What did you study for while you were in college?”

After being stuck in the game it made her want to study more on the brain. She had the interested in something with medical but maybe Neuroscience would be a good choice for her. But for now she was looking for herbs which she found another on the side that she successfully grabbed.

“Maybe it’s you that is why I’m having a hard time getting the materials.” She laughs.

She thought about it. The reason why she wanted to do this quest. It wasn’t because of the skill. It was to help her continue and find a way out of the game.

“I’m just wanting to get stronger and find my way out of the Town of Beginnings… Out of this game.”

She wasn’t really thinking why she wanted the skill. It was just another fight for her to get to her goal.

“It’s kind of cool that you’re part of a guild. I don’t think I’d ever join one. I don’t want people to have to babysit a low-level player like me constantly.”

It was mostly because she didn’t really want to deal with all the men drooling over her because she’s a young female that decided to get stuck inside a game that wasn’t meant for her.

As she follows behind him while they climb, she realizes that he’s more talkative than any of the other guys she’s met. Usually, they’re all upset or wanting to show off, but he seems to be straight forward to getting the objective done and not worry about a girl being present.

She wasn’t surprised that Astreya was interested in girl talk. It has been a while since she’s had it as well. Most of the time she’s been avoiding having to talk to men that were left in the Town of Beginnings. But after attempting to grab that false herb she would try to continue.

“Oh… He’s actually a year older than me. He was the class rep for his year. Nice and handsome. He was pretty much the only guy I talked to for the longest time.”

She paused a little before continuing.

“He was actually the one that showed me all kind of cool things like some of the trading card games. He was nerdy but also was in sports as well. I call that a good balance of being a jock but at the same time a nerd.”

It was then she spotted another herb. But like the last time it was a false one and she just continued until then. Hopefully, she’ll find another one. She’s really wanting to get going with the leveling and searching herbs isn’t one of the ways she pictured it.

She looked at the man. As always he seem to cocky for her to really care to try and get to know. But maybe he’s also irritated about the update. Seems like a lot of people don’t like it. Either way she decided to follow him up the mountain.

“My name is Etherial…” she said quietly not wanting to really tell him her name.

It was only proper for her to introduce herself to him after her introduce himself. Although in real life she’s never climb a mountain she was curious if it’s the same thing as on the game. But soon enough she’ll figure that out.

“What bring someone like you here in the low-level floors?”

She said assuming he’s part of the frontlines. Not to often does the low-level players see the front-runners of the game. But she can’t say much. She want to be just like them soon enough to get out of this game.

It wasn’t long until she thought she had a new friend. Although these two don’t know each other outside of the game it seemed like they would have been great friends in the real world.

“I actually had a crush on this boy. I was so close of asking him out…”

She never finished her sentence but instead found another herb. But this time trying to grab it, it wouldn’t budge just like the other one.

“You know sometime I wonder if these are even herbs or just annoying weeds that are here to throw you off.”

With that though she laughs a little before getting off the ground. Brushing off the dust off her dress and jacket she fixes her rapier as she continues searching as well as catching up to Astreya.

“If only boys can be as easy to talk to as girls.” She laughs once more before they continue walking.

After a long journey of collecting herbs for a quest, Etherial decided it was a good time to take out another quest by travaling up to the 2nd floor after Astreya told her about a quest that was fairly simple. Walking up to the nearest town she notice something out of the blue. It was quite dead besides the NPC that lived there and what looks like an older player sitting down off in the distance next to the cafe. Walking around looking all confused she looked like she never left Floor 1. It was only a matter of time until she walked up to the man sitting at the cafe.

"Do you know where I can find this quest? I've been told there's a quest that unlocks a skill to you once completed."

Etherial wasn't a fan of talking to men but she wasn't quite sure where this quest was at and he looked like he's been here before.

After telling her some of her personal life, Astreya went even further in explaining why she was here. Etherial thought for a moment before looking for another herb to try and grab. It wasn’t a surprised that a boyfriend would drag their girlfriend into a game to play with them but when it comes to not joining with her seems kind of scummy.

“I never had a boyfriend before. I was so busy with after school activities and school work I never thought about adding dating into it.”

It was only a matter of time before she included why she joined the Death Game.

“I actually joined this game by accident. My brother bought it and was so excited about it. I just wanted to see why he was so hyped about it. I never played games before so when I got stuck in here I kind of stayed back here in the Town of Beginnings. But now I don’t want to be lost away in a video game knowing we might never leave… I wanted to keep who I am and see my brother again.”

With that though she did find another herb to pick. And this time she was successful in grabbing it.

“Well three more to go. Let see how much this game really likes me today.” She smiles.

She was quite happy knowing that the hunt was going well for once. Usually it ended with her never finding anything for hours then find one then back to nothing after. As she kept searching the only thing that he heard was her life before the death game accrued.

“I was in high school. Matter of fact I should of graduated last year.”

 She paused for a second.

 “I was in a lot of clubs as well as student council.”

 She looked over and spotted another herb that she quickly try to obtained. As she went over to though it wasn’t going to budge as she gave up on trying to pull something that wasn’t going to give in.

“What about you? What did you do in the real world?”

Usually, it was rude talking about people’s personal stuff but everyone here is always curious on other’s pass life before entering the Death Game. It was only if they felt comfortable telling them why they join the Death Game is when it usually goes overboard for people.

She smiled once more before walking in. The only thing she heard from Zak was the same thing he gave her the first time she accepted the quest. "Looks like the the speech is the same as last update." She laughs a little as the quest updated for her to find the five materials. It was on the side of the roll of the dice to make sure she's able to get the materials.

"Well looks like we're off. You want to lead the way. You might know the better hunting ground than me." She smiles a little before following her outside of the shop and heading towards the gate. Walking out of the gate she looked around seeing plenty of herbs that maybe be the materials Walking around and attempting to pick one up. 

As she grabbed the material at ease she looked over at Astreya . "Looks like we're going to start on the right track." It was only a matter of time until she'll find 4 more to continue with this quest.

She smiled. It wasn't to often someone that's already finished the quest. "Of course you can tag along. My name is Etherial..." She smiled once more before heading out to Zakariah. "If I remember we have to report to Zakariah first before looking for the materials..... I started this quest a while ago but never finished... I guess when I started it with another player they just got up and abandon me so I just ditched the quest." 

As they walk towards Zakariah's shop she she looked at the girl. She looked like a girl back at home. It was quite amazing to see so many people that look like your friends in the real world. The girl was quite beautiful. Quite shocking that she joined this death game. Kind of like her actually. She was probably quite beautiful to someone out there and she was trapped in this death game. But before she was wanting to say something they approached the shop. She looked at the door. It was the same door as before but maybe with a different shade of colour. "Well. Here we go again." she said with a slight giggle at the end.

After the long slumber Etherial woke up panicking. With the server due for a major update she knew that it happen last night. But unlike everyone else she didn't feel different. Her stats seems to be the same besides little more skill points added to her account, but other than that her level was the same as well as her energy and health stats. After adjusting her skills and stats around for a couple of minuets she hops out of the inn's bed and walk downstairs.  

Leaving the Inn she notice nothing new happen to the actual game it self as The Town of Beginnings looked the same. But the one thing that caught her attention was a new NPC that wasn't here from the last version of the game. And so she walked up to him to interact with him. Although it seems like he's only asking for help for the newer players she knew that it was again the Beginner's missions she could never complete in the past and kept untracking it on her quest bar. 

Listening to what the man has to say she decided to approve this quest. This time though she will compete it even if she had to do it by herself. Looking to her left she notice another girl staring at her way. Was she interested in this quest or just curious on what the quest was. Either way it was kind of weird. But with no thought at all she walked up to her. "Are you interested in these quest? They're the Beginner's quest that you saw at the beginning of the game once it was released." She didn't mention the fact that she never done them as well as she was under the level limit to do them.

After waiting for the other two to regroup with her, Etherial notice something different about Oni. He seemed to be in a better mood than before. I guess in a way she would be to if she found a secret door that lead them out of a sewer. Walking behind Oni as Recon follows behind her as well the one thing, she notices was the lack of sewer smell and a nice smell of fresh baked bread, which means two things. They are near a bakery, or someone just recently got fresh bread and they so happen to leave the sewer at the right time to smell the goodness of fresh baked bread.

After a good while of being in the sewers it was nice to being able to see light again. The only thing is where does this hallway end up for them. As they approach the top of the old staircase, she sees an old rundown shack with the stench of fresh baked goods getting stronger by the second. It was only a matter of time she was able to get to eat something, but she did kind of promise to help Oni find what he’s looking for.

She wasn't very happy with what Recon said about the smell. Obviously she knew that it wont get any better but if they keep heading toward the smell it wont end well with them if that was a dead end. But without a doubt while the two kept walking she stopped real quick to wipe the sewage off her feet a little as it was getting caked on the bottom of it. With that though she press her hand against the wall that eventually pressed inwards. With no pause afterwards a secret door opened up that seem to lead upwards. With the shaking floor as the door open she regain her balanced and looked up at the two boys. With no words to describe with what she sees she kind of gives them a wave to head back over here. If they decided not to she wouldn't be upset. This might be a way out... Or at least a way out of the degusting sewage that they've been walking in for some time.

It was only a matter of time before she would hear their responses about her life she did hear Recon mention about him missing out on his high school part of his life. It wasn't like he'll miss out on it but he'll experience it little late. Eitheral then figured out something with her. She's going to be little behind with her education as well. She was suppose to be in college right now studying Neuroscience but instead she's trapped in a death game not knowing if she's able to get out. But it didn't stop her from wanting to complete the game and finally reach back to the real world. Matter of fact once she did make it back it would probably be rough. But not just her. All the survivors will have a hard time. 

With the smell getting stronger, she can't imagine what's lies in front of them. "You guys don't smell that?" she said to them as they walk even closer. With no doubt knowing how things work out she's probably going to be upset on how these boys are going to treat her.

With a large sign after hearing both of the boys, She would finally reach out and talk one more time. "You know. I should be getting ready for college right now." she waited for a moment. "Matter of fact I shouldn't of joined this dumb game in the first place. The only reason why I did is because my stupid father bought everything for my brother and he was so hyped about playing the game." She paused for another second before having memories of her brother getting all excited about being able to play it. "I can't imagine what he's going through right now knowing his younger sister is trapped in here instead of him." But besides the point no one here would really care why they all joined the death game. At this point in time she needed to escape this horrible place and get away from these two. Oni wasn't much of the issue right now as he's trying to be serous but Recon and his annoying jokes started to get on her nerves, but instead she decided to keep everything to herself from here on out. It's not like they'll have any company up ahead where she'll have to use her rapier anyways.

As expected the older man didn't accept her offer in getting him up, but was nice enough to offer her his name. "Oni" she whispered to herself. Looking at him once more before then following him as he would yell at the other man. In this situation she had to agree with Oni. They need to work together to get out of this smelly place. Even if it is leaving someone behind. But as she started to follow Oni, she heard Recon asked if she really think there's a way out of here. She looked over at her. "Of course. How else would they fix stuff around the city?" Her message was basic but it's the truth. Why would you make a place that wouldn't have an exit. If you keep waste in one place it ends up stinking eventually above and no one want's to smell that. There's either an exit somewhere where it flows into some body of water or other waste or there's a treatment plant. Hopefully she cleared it up better this time around because she wont say it again.

After the failed attempted of lifting the man up, Etherial would be tugged with him down into the sewers. Although he landed on the hard surface she manage to land on top of him. Opening her eyes all she see is the man's brown eyes. Getting up off of the mans stomach she would brush off the dust as well as offering her hand to him to help him up as well. Although as how the situation been going so far it wouldn't surprise her if he refuses. Although the fear of men is strong with her. She had to get use to it for a while as she was now stuck inside this disgusting area for a while with two of them. 

While her hand stuck out, she would finally intoduce herself to the older man. "My name is Etherial.. And my apologies for this mess." She said to him as she looks over at the other man that seems to be the youngest one out of the three. Although his ideas are not bad the odds of him finding enough bricks sticking out is slim to none at this point. "You know there's a way out of here. Might have to walk for a while but  if you think about it, people would have to come down here to fix it or whatever they do in this." She wasn't sure what way would be the place though so her guess would be just as good as the others. But it's better than sitting here and watching a man fail to climb a narrow path.

After giving the signal for the first boy to start climbing up she walked up to the edge of the hole. Seeing as the one that has the big attitude was climbing first. At first it looked like it was going well. While the man was climbing she looked at he other one which looked like he was trying to look for a secret passage to find a way out. But all of the sudden once the older male got close he grabbed onto the rotten ladder before the makeshift rope that was tied to the pipe broke off. 

With no hesitation though she would run over to the area of the ladder and offer her hand to him hoping she was capable to give him a boost up. Watching the boy holding onto the ladder was more stressful for her to see as he's so close to finally be free from the giant hole. As she looked up at the other boy though, she would respond. "How about we move on from introductions until after we get out of here." As she looks down once to see if he'll accept her hand.

With the slight annoyance in her face. The white haired girl would look at the two of them. The fact that one had the nerve to say what he did wasn't exactly the nicest thing you can say to a female at this current situation. The other didn't really rest her case but did something she wasn't expecting someone to ask. "Why would I need to tell you my name if you're not capable in introducing yourself first." With a little sign she decided to give in and help look for a way out for them. Without telling she turns around and starts to run up the stairs of the old rundown building to find sheets setting on the chest in front of the old bed. With no hesitation she grabbed it and worked her way back down to the basement. Unlike the men in the sewer she was to light for the wood to collapse in. Reaching down to the basement the two were still standing there. Most likely irritated that she left without explaining where she was going but in return  she had bed sheets that were tied together to make it into a rope. "Now I'm not heavy enough to hold you two up but if you give me a minuet I'll try to find something to tie this to." She said as she walks to a old metal pipe that was handing out of the ground that seem to be an old water pipe.

Another day lost in this death game and Etherial was on her way to complete a quest. The quest was quite simple actually it was just searching for an item that was surprisingly hidden inside a bucket of a well. While walking threw the old parts of the town she would all of the sudden hear a crash in an old wore out building. Running over to it she sees a sign that says "Keep Out" and a part of the boards pulled from the window. "Looks like someone doesn't know how to read." She said with a smirk on her face. But without any doubt she decided to walk in to see what was all the commotion about.

Walking inside the building she notice the house was falling a part and the floor was about to cave in. Slowly walking down the old stairs that reach the basement she sees a giant hole with what looks like two other players trapped in it. With no hesitation. She spoke up. "Which one of you don't know how to read?" she paused a moment. "Actually by the looks of it you two probably have a surprisingly low education as it is." The white haired grey eye girl said with a little smirk on her face as her left hand is holding on to the sheath of her rapier.

She looked around and saw a piece of material. It was probably the easiest one that she’ll probably get this whole entire time searching for the materials. “Let see here. That three materials? So just two more and I’ll be able to get the item crafted to continue on with the quest?” She thought to herself thinking that this quest seems easier than what a lot of people been telling her. But the fact she had someone with her probably made it better. “Sorry if this isn’t much of a fun journey for you. I’m sure following someone around isn’t the most fun thing in the world.” She said that though with a smile so hopefully that brightens things up a little while saying that. “By the way do you have anything you would like to ask for me while we’re waiting for me to complete this quest?” She was trying to find an excuse for her to talk to Rei while they search for the materials.

Hearing Rei mentions that she tends to get back luck kind of shocked her a little. But again, everyone here seems to have bad luck. After all, they’re stuck inside a death game. Stopping for a moment to see if she can find any materials but unfortunately wasn’t able to find any in this area. “Looks like we’ll need to find a new place to look don’t you think?” she smiles before heading east of there position and see if she had any more luck in that general area.

“Do you have any goals in this game? Like besides to survive and leave it.” She wasn’t sure what everyone had in mind for a game that could literally kill them if there HP hits zero. It doesn’t seem like something people would really think about in some sort of way but also doesn’t want to take the chances. She starts to look around to admire the floor still while moving towards the next position she was wanting to go to.
