  1. James looked over his build for a second. He had made an unusual character. A light armor character with a double handed weapon. "Ah, well I tried to go for a DPS that was maneuverable," he answered, "hence the light armor and two-handed weapon. The combination might be contradictory in some games, but it's worked out so far for me in this one." He smiled, glad that Spencer understood the struggle of leveling. "Yes, it is quite hard when you don't know that many people in game. Usually I train with my sister, Joanne. But she was out today doing the same quest with a different friend." He laughed. "I guess there was a lack in communication between us today."

    When the penguin popped out of the man's hood, James couldn't hold in his excitement. "Is that a small penguin?" he said, his voice filled with excitement. "Oh hello there, little guy!" He stooped down and look at the adorable creature, his shy demeanor disappearing for the moment.

  2. Symphony sat in the seat of a small cafe on the first floor. She was wearing a black sweater and jeans with black combat boots. Her hands were cupped around a warm cup of tea, the steam rising up and warming her cheeks. She bit her lip as she sent a message to her fiance, Prometheus.

    Quote

    Hello My Love,

    Would you mind meeting me at Le Petit Cafe on the first floor? There is something I want to discuss with you before our wedding day.

    -Love, Symphony

    She hit send and keep chewing on the inside of her cheeks nervously. I hope he won't be mad that I've kept this from him the whole timeshe thought, her thoughts running wild in a sea of anxiety. What she wanted to tell -- no, what she NEEDED to tell him may affect their future life together. For better or for worse, she didn't know. And that scared her. She sighed. I just hope he understands.

    @Prometheus

  3. Symphony nodded her head in agreement with what Jomei said. She looked out the window, wondering how long this storm would last. "I never knew the floor would have this much rainfall," she said. "Though, I haven't ever been in a biome like this in the real world either." She had been used to larger cities or mountainous regions, not anything like swamps or bogs.

    As the two players talked to each other, Cloak took the moment to begin grooming the small owl next to him. He was careful not to hurt them or break any feathers. Symphony looked over and commented on the display. "Awe, look at them, Jomei! Aren't they just the cutest?" A smile spread across her lips and she laughed. "Who would have guessed that Cloak would make another bird friend! He actually hasn't met a lot of other familiars now that I think about it."

    @Jomei

  4. Even though she couldn't feel the cold, Symphony shuddered out of habit. She still remembered how cold rain felt in the real world as well as the sting of it when the wind blew hard enough. Sometimes, it would even feel like you were being pricked by sharp needles. Huddling next to Jomei, she joined him and ventured off to the cafe. Once inside, she removed her cloak and sighed happily. "Warm and dry. My two favorite things," she said before plopping into a seat by the fire. "Oh, besides food!" she followed, giggling. She motioned for Jomei to join her and then let Cloak jump from her shoulder onto a window sill near them. Outside, the rain was starting to pour even harder, flooding the village even more.

    She motioned the NPC waitress over and gave an order of a mint mocha and a small croissant sandwich. While waiting for their order, she said, "Sorry for being so hungry so soon, but that fighting really took it out of me. Even if I can't truly feel the hunger in game, I still feel the phantom pain." She laughed. "Guess it's been a while since I've gotten a good work out as well."

    @Jomei

  5. The blacksmith NPC shouted for her to come back as she began to leave. "Wait, you forgot to take your rewards!" he yelled. She turned around and went back to the counter. The blacksmith presented a [Tier 1, Uncommon, MIT] armor named "Basic Armor" and a potion labelled "Safeguard".

    "Uh, what does the potion do?" Symphony asked while picking it up and turning it side-to-side in the dim light of the shop.

    "Oh, that!" the blacksmith said. "That potion blocks the damage from the first hit taken after drinking the potion. You may need it in this next quest with Hannah, so I advise you not use it right away." He smiled and continued, "Now that is all I have for you. If you would like to continue shopping around, feel free to do so."

    Symphony thanked the NPC and left the store while tucking the items into her inventory.

    Quest Rewards:
    3 SP
    [T1, Uncommon] Light Armor <<Basic Armor>>, 1 MIT
    Safeguard potion

  6. As Symphony made her way back to the blacksmith, she whistled the violin solo line of Summer by Vivaldi. As they entered the town gates, she waved hello to the guards, who also waved back. Then she made her way into the blacksmith's shop.

    "Alright!" she exclaimed as she slammed the bag of boar pup tusks onto the blacksmith's workshop table. "I finally got all of the tusks from those insufferable beasts. And let me guess, there's another part to this quest?"

    The blacksmith smiled and greeted her. "Why, hello Symphony! Thank you for bringing me back the tusks." He took the tusks over to a chest and put them into storage. "And yes, there is another part to this quest." He pulled out a small package from his inventory. "I need you to bring this package to the young artisan Hannah. She's usually located in a grove of trees deeper in the city."

    Symphony sighed and took the package from the blacksmith. "Alright, I'll head out now," she said in a depressed voice.

  7. Fwoosh! Without much of a warning, Symphony released her blade, which lodged itself deep into the skull of the boar pup. The beast fell over on its side and burst into pixels. It didn't even stand a chance against the sudden attack. Symphony jumped up in down in celebration and then raced over to pick up her dagger. As she picked it up, she spotted another boar pup tusk off to the side. "Yes!" she exclaimed as she picked the item up and tucked it into her inventory. "Cloak! Time to head back! We have all the items to complete this stupid quest."

    Cloak flew back over and landed on her shoulder. She opened her inventory to show him all 3 boar pup tusks, and he cawed happily, also glad to be done with this long, annoying quest. After checking out the quest items, Cloak rose into the air once more and led the way back to town.

  8. "Ahhh!" she yelled as she let her dagger fly. Unfortunately, it seemed that her aim was just a tad bit off. The blade wooshed over the boar pup's head and deep into a tree directly behind it. The boar pup squealed in fear as it realized how close to death it had come. It began to run wildly about in a fear-induced panic. Symphony sighed and jogged over to pick up her dagger. Luckily, the blade hadn't been damaged by the deep impact into the tree. She carefully felt along the edge of her blade with her thumb. Still sharp. Thank goodness.

    She turned around to face the boar pup once more. It was still running around madly. "Hey! Hold still!" she yelled at the beast as she prepared another throw. The yell seemed to bring the boar pup back to reality, and it looked directly at Symphony, panting heavily from all the running it had just done.

  9. The last little boar pup charged and bounced off of her right shin. The leather armor that covered her armor protected her perfectly. She watched as one point of health ticked off of her health bar. No danger whatsoever. She brought her dagger down in a fierce slash, aiming at the boar pup's head. However, it was still a bit too quick for her, and it leaped to the side nimbly at the last second, avoiding certain death.

    Symphony cursed under her breath and leaped back to try and plan a better attack. This next time, she would try to throw her dagger once more since it had worked so well the last time. Taking a deep breath, she began to wind her arm back for the powerful throw.

    "Just stay still..." she muttered under her breath as she closed one eye and took aim. This was going to be a quick shot.

  10. Filled with determination, Symphony made the first move and charged towards the little boar pup. She attempted to do another slicing attack along the side of the boar pup, but she was just a few inches shy of hitting. The boar pup then turned around and hit her under her chin as she was leaning forward after missing her attack. Symphony was knocked back by this attack and picked herself back up, rubbing her chin. "Ouch. It seems this piece of bacon is a bit feisty." She stretched and cracked her back, thinking of her next plan for attack.

    The little boar pup had gotten lucky with this last attack, but she knew the little thing wouldn't get another chance like that again. She began to nonchalantly toss her dagger from hand to hand once more while she waited for the boar pup to make the next move. She took a deep breath.

  11. An idea popped into Symphony's head as she twirled her blade in her hands. She stopped tossing the dagger and held it in her right hand, testing its weight. It was perfect to throw. The right balance and everything. She had not tried this move before, so she gave herself a moment to get into a throwing stance. The two boar pups stood about 10 feet in front of her, oblivious to what was about to happen.

    She took a step back and then let her dagger fly. It hit straight in the middle of the fourth boar pup's forehead. Fwoosh! The beast exploded into pixels. She ran over to gather up her dagger. Once she got close to her weapon, the last boar pup ran to the other side of the field rather than trying to attack.

    Symphony bent down to pick up her dagger and found another boar pup tusk as well. This fueled her spirit, and she jumped up in excitement. "Cloak, we're nearly finished!" she yelled to her companion. He cawed happily with her.

  12. Once again, the boar pup charged. Symphony dodged to the left of the beast and lashed out with her blade, but this time the boar pup was prepared. It dashed nimbly to the right, dodging the dagger easily. It huffed happily and trotted away as Symphony brought her blade back towards her side.

    The fourth boar pup trotted over to its friend proudly. The fifth boar pup was impressed that its friend had not been killed. This encouraged and fired up the fifth boar pup, which immediately began to charge Symphony. Once again, Symphony nimbly dodged the attack, keeping her blade at her side. The fifth boar pup trotted back towards its friend in a huff, upset that it had missed such a large target.

    Symphony began to play with her blade, tossing it from one hand to the other, as the boar pups riled themselves up for another attack.

  13. Finally, the two boar pups decided to do a joint attack. They nodded their heads towards each other and then let out tiny squeals meant to be battle cries. However, the squeals still sounded quite cute and nothing like the fierce battle cries that their adult counterparts usually let out in battle. Symphony sighed and faced the two. She waited and finally leaped over them at the last second. Her attempt to slice at one of the boar pups failed miserably. Her strike was a half of a foot off. She landed safely away from the two boar pups. There was a good 20 foot distance between the two parties. Symphony decided to taunt the two beasts once more by whistling and clicking her tongue.

    "Come here little pieces of bacon!" she called while clapping her hands. The fourth boar pup stomped the dirt with its right front hoof and prepared to charge once more. It seems all the noise had made it angry once more.

  14. The third boar pup began to back up, preparing for a charge. Symphony just stood there, not even bracing herself for the attack. The boar pup squealed angrily before charging at the woman's shins. In a quick flash of movement, Symphony was suddenly to the side of the boar rather than in front of it. She brought her dagger down with deadly accuracy and sliced the head of the boar clean off. "One down, two more to go," she mumbled to herself as she checked for loot. None whatsoever. Her expression was blank as she turned to face the remaining two boars. "You both better have something useful, or I'm going to be very frustrated," she growled.

    She wiped off the blood from her blade on the grass at her feet. This left her easily open for an attack, but the two boar pups were too nervous to make a charge so suddenly. They had both seen what had happened to their friends, and they were a bit more cautious now.

  15. She rushed forward, trying to hit another one of the little devils. Slice! Her attack had hit! She had landed the blow right at the base of the skull. The boar pup burst into pixels just as the other one had. Symphony managed to dodge the poor attempts at attacks that the other boar pups attempted as she jumped up and down in joy at killing another boar pup. However, when she looked down to look for loot, that excitement faded. She feel to her knees and banged her head into the dirt. This boar hadn't dropped any boar pup tusks either. She let out a long groan and picked herself back up. Cloak decided to just wait in a tree as his partner finished up the other boar pups. He began to groom himself out of boredom.

    Symphony picked herself up and slowly turned to face the other boar pups. She sighed heavily and just said, "Come at me I guess."

  16. However, she leaped a bit too far and landed into a hit from one of the other boar pups. She rubbed her back where the boar hit and turned around to see the boar pup that she had originally aimed for running back across the clearing. "Awe, come on," she mumbled under her breath. "This hecking sucks." She tosses her dagger in the air and catches it. She does this several times as she waits for one of the other boar pups to charge her.

    She whistles to try and make them angrier or to get their attention. "Come on, piggy, piggies!" she yells at them. One of the boar pups steps up and snorts, stomping the ground with a hoof. It prepared itself to charge. She did a few tricks with the dagger in her hand as she waited for the pup to come closer. "Come on little pig."

  17. With one lucky, random, anger-fueled blow, she managed to slice clean through the first boar pup. Pixels exploded in front of her as the boar pups HP feel to 0. Her angry frown turned to a determined grin as she looked down at the ground. Nothing. No loot whatsoever. As she gazed forlornly down at the ground, two of the boar pups charged her, noticing she was distracted. They each dealt only a point of damage each, and they both bounced off her light leather armor.

    Cloak cawed with encouragement above her. She sighed and brought her dagger up in front of her, ready to strike out once more. She focused and began to listen once more. Now she heard four sets of hooves. It was a little easier to focus on a specific boar pup. She heard one of them begin to charge her from behind. She waited just for the right moment to leap up and turn the tables.

  18. She closed her eyes and tried to sense the movements of the beasts around her. Her left ear twitched as she heard the familiar steps of the first boar pup she attacked. Leaping up agilely and leaping over the other 4 boar pups, she landed next to first boar pup (which had been at the edge of the herd again) and sliced at it. However, the boar pup was once again too quick and nimbly jumped out of the way. Symphony's dagger sliced the air in front of it. Darn it, she cursed in her head.

    From behind her, she heard three of the boar pups charging at her. She sighed and just let them bounce off her armor, her ears twisting back as she heard the counter on her display take off 3 health points. This was becoming a very annoying, tedious quest, and Symphony was getting close to losing it. With a twist of her hair, she began to aimlessly charge at the boar pups around her.

  19. A large smile traveled to her lips as she listened to Katsuki tell her about his son. It sounds like he really loved his little one, she thought to herself. She was also glad that he was a caring father figure. She didn't respect men that left their kids and didn't help take care of them. "I can't wait to meet him," she said after he had finished telling her about his little boy and his mother. "And I'm sure he misses his father greatly." A determined and serious look took over her expression. "I will do everything I can to make sure that you get to see your son again one day, my love." Then she began to blush as she thought of something. She glanced down and smiled once more. "Then we can all be a family together. . ." she said softly. She glanced shyly back up at him.

    That's when she noticed his troubled look, and her own expression copied his. "Oh, love," she sighed. She squeezed his hand tightly. "We can talk about that after dinner. . ." She looked over as the waitress brought her plate of food and sat it down in front of her. "For now, let's enjoy this meal and the lovely life we have ahead of us." The smile played on her lips once more as she raised her glass to toast his.

  20. With a shrill whistle as a signal to her partner, Symphony leaped out of the bushes and raced toward the boar closed to her. She launched forward but was just a little too slow. The boar pup dodged away and called to its friends. The three boar pups that had been chasing the butterfly and bickering with each other raced over. The fourth and fifth boar pups charged and bounced off of Symphony's shin armor easily. She looked at her upper display as the game subtracted just two points of health.

    She frowned as she remembered that her attack had missed and braced herself once more. She needed to make these next strikes count as she was growing tired of this quest. She should have been able to finish it hours ago, but her lack of luck had nearly tripled the amount of time it should have taken. She took in a deep breath as she prepared to attack again.

  21. Symphony packed up all the supplies she had laid out before beginning to fish. Once sure that she hadn't left anything behind, she led the way back towards the clearing where the pair had battled before. Cloak did flips in the air and other cool tricks on the way to their destination. Symphony laughed and threw treats up to Cloak. Each time, he caught them in the air perfectly.

    As they approached the clearing, Symphony saw five more little boar pups running around in the clearing. Two of the five seemed to be munching grass and bugs happily at the far edge of the field to the left. The other three were fighting each other as they tried to chase a butterfly. It was quite an amusing sight, and if it were a different occasion, Symphony would have loved to watch the three play. However, she needed those tusks badly, and she didn't feel like waiting any longer to get them.

    Symphony quickly hid behind a tree further blocked from sight by bushes. Cloak quietly perched on a branch to her upper left.

  22. Symphony froze as the words left his mouth, her eyes wide, and her mouth slightly agape. A son? She looked at her lover--looked deep into his eyes. The world stopped around them as she thought of what his life must have been like in the real world. It must have been hard for him to even try to raise a son or support a woman with child at such a young age. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. When she opened them again, she had a soft, sympathetic smile on her lips.

    Reaching out and grabbing his hand tightly, she smiled and looked back into his dark eyes. "Tell me about him." She spoke soft and gently. "You can tell me everything, my love. And if you don't feel comfortable telling me everything now, then you can wait and tell me later. I'll always be here for you, no matter what." She squeezed his hand, then reached up with her free hand to stroke it through his hair.

    Inside, she was still a bit shaken, but her spirit was filled with resolve. This was the man she wanted to be with for the rest of her life. And she knew that meant compromising and staying by each other's sides no matter what. And there was something else... she had been keeping a secret as well.

    As this last thought popped into her head, she lowered her gaze and sighed. "And once you finish telling me about your son, I also have something to tell you as well."

  23. Symphony let out a sigh of relief as Jomei killed the beast in front of them. "Thank you, Jomei," she said as she got up and dusted herself off. After checking herself for any wounds and finding none, she looked back up at the man.

    "Uh, do you think we could head back and get some food now?" she asked, laughing lightly. All this fighting had worn her out. She needed a good meal and then a nice nap or long rest. "These enemies are getting a bit too aggressive and powerful for my liking. And besides," she continued, her stomach growling, "I'm getting a little hungry after all this fighting." She blushed in embarrassment and rubbed the back of her head with her hand.

    She took the free moment that they had to stretch and bend forward, nearly bending her body in half. Still flexible as always, she thought happily. She sighed as she stretched backwards and touched the ground with her hands. Upon rising back up, she smiled back over at Jomei. "Much better!" she exclaimed. Her body felt much looser and less stressed now. It always tended to tighten up when fighting.

    @Jomei

  24. Symphony smiles and follows along as quick as she can behind her lover. Her heart feels giddy and light as she realizes that she'll soon be married to the love of her life. As they sit down, she begins to thing of what she wants to order. A burger maybe? No. Maybe some pasta? Meh, too filling. She ends up deciding to get a classic meal of turkey breast with mashed potatoes and gravy on the side and some seasoned green beans.

    She looks up and smiles at Katsuki as he orders a large meal. "Always so hungry," she giggles as she reaches across the table to stroke his cheek. His skin is surprisingly soft; she smiles and looks up into his eyes, hoping that they'll always be this happy forever.

    She pulls away after a few seconds in order to make an order, realizing that the NPC waitress is still waiting on her. "Oh, my apologies!" After relaying her order to the waitress, she looks back at her fiance.

    "I can't believe this is happening. It's like a dream!" she exclaims, excited once more.

    @Prometheus

  25. Symphony smiled and thought for a moment. "Hm, how about some steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and bread rolls?" she asked Katsuki before he left the church completely. It was a childhood meal that her family ate during special occasions, and it carried a dear place in her heart. It was quite fitting for this occasion as well since she and Katsuki would become a family of their own very soon. Her heart fluttered at that thought.

    "I will pay the extra col for the Feast Table as well," she stated, her voice emphasizing that there was no room for argument. She had the money to spend on the both of them this time, and she was going to do as much as she could to make their special day extra special. Though, she hoped that she wouldn't be in too much trouble with her fiance for spending money like that. She glanced over at Katsuki, gauging his reaction.
