  1. Immediately after they stepped out of the teleporter, Symphony popped a stick of mint gum in her mouth and starting chewing frantically. She looked over at Jomei and said, "Mint helps ease the stomach. This is the only thing that helps with that stupid thing." As they made their way through the town, Symphony looked around with curiosity as well as caution. She took note of anything around them that could harm them.

When Symphony heard Jomei mention he didn't know the type of creatures that were on this floor, she replied with, "I've never been here, so your guess is as good as mine. Though I feel like alligators are a solid guess." She looked around and stepped carefully on the muddy land, getting her combat boots all dirty.

As Symphony stooped down to get her boot unstuck from a thick patch of mud, she looked forward, and her eyes met with those of a giant boa constrictor. It was at least 20 feet long. It lunged for her, but she managed to dodge out of the way in time. Her blade glowed light blue as she slashed into the snake with her blade four times. "Watch out!" she called to Jomei.

  2. Symphony was silent as she stepped back up to take on the monster. Her thoughts were quiet as she brought up her dagger. She looked at it and watched as the blade glowed from the sword art she was charging it with. Then she ran towards the monster. Her heart wasn't in this fight anymore. The beast dodged once again as she slashed out at it. She sighed and turned to watch it, thinking it would try to charge her. However, her eyes widened with realization when she realized the monster was headed for Arabelle. "Arabelle! Brace yourself! The monster is aggroed on you!" she yelled loudly to the other player. She just hoped the girl could hear her over the ear piercing shrieks of the monster. Crap, she thought to herself. That girl doesn't have much mitigation... This beast is gonna do a bit of damage.

Fluffy charged and hit Arabelle square in the chest, sending her flying back into a tree. Symphony winced as the girl's health points dropped. That looked painful. The monster made odd, happy noises and wagged its cloud ears as it watched its prey fall to the ground.

  3. Symphony frowned as Jomei mentioned the player killers and being hunted. As much as she hated the idea of becoming wanted by the police and being labelled as a murderer, she still felt conflicted. She wanted to kill that man. "Don't worry about me," she said, looking up and forcing a smile at Jomei. "I told my love the gist of what happened but not the details. If I told him such, I feel like he would want to kill the man himself. He'll most likely be there when that cruel being draws his last breath around my blade." With that last sentence she got up and headed towards the door, holding the door open as she waited for Jomei to follow her.

Once they were outside, she spoke again. "Oh, by the way, I know neither of us can gain anything from hunting on these floors. Instead, let's head up to floor 12. Should be a challenge for me, but probably quite easy for you. If it's too easy, just give the word. Then we can climb to a higher level, though then my life will be in your hands at that point."

They headed towards the teleporter and went up to the twelfth floor.

    @Jomei

  4. Symphony immediately lunged for the froggy beast, but its slimy skin let it slip against the blade without hurting itself. "Ew, that's absolutely disgusting," Symphony said as her blade dripped with slime. She wiped it on the leg of her black jeans and looked up just in time to see a ball of goop flying at her face. She dodged the ball, which she now realized had been launched from the frog fish's mouth, and nearly fell off the dock in doing so. Once she caught her balance, she whistled to Cloak to come over in case she needed help in battle. Cloak dodged around and pecked at the monster. It smelled like the fish that he loved to eat. The monster ribbited in fear and annoyance as the bird kept dive-bombing it, trying to peck at its tasty flesh. Symphony just looked on, a mildly disturbed expression on her face.

  5. For a couple of minutes, Symphony had some moments of peace. She looked up at the clouds and actually had time to daydream and make shapes out of the fluffy cotton balls in the sky. As she was about to fall asleep, she felt a jolt on the line and grabbed it up in her hands. Now, whatever was on the end of the line this time was pretty powerful. She had an even harder time reeling the darn thing up than she did with the treasure chest. After several minutes of struggling, she pulled up an ugly creature on the opposite side of the dog.

The monster had the title "Frog Fish" above it on her display, and oh boy did it look like a weird mash of those two animals. It had giant, human-sized frog legs coming out of a giant fish head with a tail at the back of it. It had weird, bulging eyes and had green, slimy skin. It had human arms popping out of its sides oddly enough as well.

  6. His words and kind touch brought her back to her senses. She shook her head and fell back in her chair, exhausted from the memories that were brought up with the story telling. "Your kind words help. You're actually the first one that I've told this to. Not even my love knows." She sighed and drank the rest of her beer. "Strange how I can tell such things to a near stranger but can't bring myself to bring it up with him.." She ran her finger along the rim of her glass thoughtfully. "Though, I do plan on going back and killing that guy when I get to a higher level." A twisted grin came to her face. "Then I can absolutely destroy him."

She stretched in her seat and then looked over at Jomei. "My apologies for going into such detail. Seems I lost a bit of control there." She pulled her knife out of the table and tucked it into the holder at her waist. "Hm... do you want to go hunt or something? I'm restless from all this talk and need to take my frustration out on something."

  7. Several minutes and lockpicks later, Symphony finally opened up the treasure chest to reveal a little bit of col, some materials, and two unidentified consumables. Not too big of a surprise, but still a welcome find! Symphony tucked all of the items into her inventory and took note to go see Kairi so that she could identify the items later. Humming happily, she closed the top of the chest, and it disappeared into thin air. Woah! That was so cool! Symphony thought to herself.

This had been her first chest ever found, and she had to say, it was quite the find. A unique experience indeed. In fact, this find just wanted to make her fish some more to see what else she could find. Sitting back down at the edge of the pier, she cast her line once more and waited. She hummed a little tune to herself while doing so.

  8. While she let her line drift back and forth, she pondered at what was going on in the real world right now. Had another world war started? Had anyone discovered a cure for cancer? She wished there was just one way for any news from the outside world to somehow get into this one. Even a newspaper clipping. Something. It would make her feel less isolated and away from her family and the ones she loved.

Her thoughts were briefly interrupted by a tugging at her line. She reeled up a heavy mass. Geez, how big must thing be?! she thought to herself. After a few minutes of struggling, she managed to pull up a huge chest! "Wow! Cloak, come look at this!" Symphony shouted to her companion. She couldn't wait to open this wooden beauty. Cloak pecked at the top of the chest, curious as to what was inside as well.

  9. As Symphony listened to him speak about the fight ahead, she said, "I hope there aren't any idiots like that in the next boss fight. It'll save us all a bit of trouble." She took a swig of her drink and then said, "Thank you," when he congratulated her in turn for the wedding. "It's better to die together than to die alone in this world," she muttered under her breath.

When he asked her about the camp, Symphony's eyes seemed to darken and her expression grew serious. She called for another beer after she chugged the one she had. "Well... I had a past in the real world that made me fall for what you would call bad guys." She looked into the distance at nothing. "So I got with this guy. We were together for a while, and he's the one that got me into the game. He wasn't the best in the real world, but he was good enough. Well... I was attached to him. You know how young and stupid people are." She laughed and took a sip of the new beer that the waitress had just brought over. "So I spent the past two years looking for him. I found him in a cave while looking for materials. At first, I was happy and so excited to see him. But... then his minions tied me up and... tortured me, [censored] me. I don't know how long this went on. I was trapped in the dark, blindfolded the whole time. It could have been hours or days for all I know." Her expression was empty and cold. "But I do remember that once they broke me, he told them it was his turn... He did what they did but worse. I'll... show you the scars later if you like." She sighed and looked down at her clenched hand on the table. "The guard wasn't looking one time. I had been [censored] til I passed out that day. But somehow, just somehow I had the energy to stab him from behind and kill him. Then I killed the next one, and the next one, and..." She took a deep breath and dug her nails into her fist. She looked up into Jomei's eyes. "I killed all of the women he had hoarded for himself and used as sex slaves. But I couldn't bring myself to kill him. He taunted me. Tried to hurt me. But I couldn't do it. I still loved him..."

She took a moment to drink a little more beer. "But, when I see him again, I won't hesitate to ram this dagger straight through his heart!" As she said this, she slammed her dagger down on the table with enough force to drive it nearly all the way through. Her eyes were fiery and she had a fearsome expression on her face. Luckily, no other customers were in the tavern, and the barkeep just kept washing glasses.

  11. Symphony maintains a smile while whispering to Kat, "Be nice, honey. He could curse us or something." She then watches as the priest then goes into the backroom and brings out some paperwork in a huge file.

Symphony's eyes widened, and the priest looked up to see her expression, laughing. "Oh, don't worry! We won't have to go through most of this. These are just all extra resources for people who don't want to have... conventional weddings." He leans in. "Like, really unconventional weddings."

Symphony shivered and then looked up at Kat, gripping his arm a little tighter.

The priest then opened the file. "So, where would you two like the venue for your wedding to be? You can either have the wedding here or at another area of your choice."

Symphony looked up at Kat and said, "Well, what do you think, honey? Would you like an outdoor wedding in the garden where we first met?" She smiled at the thought.

  12. Symphony let her line reel out far into the lake, and sat, waiting for something to bite. She chewed on a piece of mint gum and decided to sit down at the edge of the pier while waiting. She pulled out a book and let the reel rest on her leg, one hand resting lightly on it while she read the book. Cloak soared in the air above her, chasing after the seagulls by the lake playfully. He wouldn't hurt them, but he just liked to chase after them.

Symphony felt a pull on her line and managed to reel in a shoe. One leather shoe. Geez, people need to stop littering, Symphony thought as she put the shoe in her inventory. She could recycle the material for a project in the future. Once she had tucked the item away, she went back to fishing. At least things were peaceful.

  13. Once they reached shore, Symphony helped load Ol' Billy onto a cart and waved goodbye as the man slowly carted it to his shop in town, where he would cut up the fish and preserve it. He'd have some good eating for a pretty long while. She smiled. This had actually been a fun time for her. In the beginning, she had hated the thought of being trapped in a boat while an old man fished, but it had actually turned out to be quite the adventure.

She looked up at the sky. The clouds had suddenly cleared after she had caught Ol' Billy. Quite fitting weather, indeed, she thought to herself. She looked at the time on her display and saw that it wasn't even noon yet, so she decided to take out her own rod and try her own hand at fishing. She stood at the edge of the pier and cast her line as Cloak flew over her in the nice breeze of the lake.

  14. As the fish began to wiggle to life again and pull on the line, Symphony jumped into the water and stabbed the fish in the eye, killing it instantly. With Ol' Pete's help, she got back into the boat (nearly tipping it over) and dragged in Ol' Billy the sword fish. This behemoth weighed above 50 pounds at least. He was a big boy indeed. Panting and out of breath, Symphony leaned against the side of the boat as Ol' Pete began to revel at the death of his rival. "After 50 years, I finally got him." For the first time that day, Symphony saw the old man smile. She thought her ears were deceiving her when the old man spoke again. "Thank you," he said gruffly and quickly. It might have been short, but he had said it.

A small smile crossed Symphony's lips and she said, "You're welcome." Then she took the oars in her hands again and rowed back towards shore with their legendary catch.

  15. Finally, Symphony grew tired of the regular method of fishing. "Here, old man," she said as she handed Ol' Pete the fishing pole. "Just keep this steady and let me do the rest."

She managed to balance herself on the edge of the boat with her dagger in her right hand. A sudden storm had whipped up, which blew ice cold rain against her face and blew her hair around her. "Come here, you over-sized, tuna!" Symphony yelled as the sword fish leaped out of the water. "Steady," she told the old man when the sword fish charged towards the boat.

As soon as the sword fish was a few feet away, Symphony reached out and used her sword art to slice four times into the body of the fish, stopping it dead in its tracks and paralyzing it in the water. The fish twitched, stuck floating at the edge of the water. Symphony smiled and planned her next move.

  16. Right as he looked back to the water, his eyes widened and the line began to feed out rapidly. "I got 'er!" he yelled as he pulled on the line, nearly losing the fish. Symphony reached over and took the pole, trying to reel the darn thing in. "Let the line out! Let the line out or it'll snap!" the man yelled. She obeyed his instruction and the line feed out, relieving the tension in the real. "Good... good..." the old man muttered as she watched. It was like a watery game of cat and mouse. As soon as she thought she had tired to beast out enough to bring him in, he would pull hard and try to break the line. It was a tricky sword fish. She could see why it had lived for 50+ years. It was a smart one.

During this fisherman vs. fish battle, the old man continued to speak. "Ol' Billy the sword fish. I'll get you yet today..."

Yeah, and I'm doing all the work, Symphony thought to herself.

  17. The old man made Symphony row out to the middle of the lake and then cast his line. While the man fished, Symphony rubbed her sore arms. Geez, this rowing stuff is hard work. I can't believe the old guy does this everyday, she thought to herself. In fact, the old man was in better shape than other men his age. He was keeping himself fit and active from this continued fishing.

While Ol' Pete fished, he began to talk about what he was looking for. "I've been fishing these waters everyday for the past 50 years. There is a fish in her as old as I -- if not older -- and he's the one that broke my last rod. Darn thing nearly took me with him." He paused for a moment, chewing on a toothpick, then looked over at Symphony. "That's where you come in, kid. You're gonna real this one in for me. You're young and strong. You seem good enough," he said dismissively, looking back to the water.

  18. To Symphony's surprise, the old man snapped back, "Whaddya want, kid?" The sudden snappish, borderline rude attitude stopped Symphony in her tracks a few feet away and left her at a loss of words for a few moments.

"U-uh, well I was sent here by Hannah to deliver this package to you," she said while carefully handing the package to him. "She said it was a fishing pole for you to use with fishing."

"Well of course it's a fishing pole. I'm a fisher," the man grumbled as he opened the package. Then he took the pole out and tucked it into the boat carefully. While still loading the boat, he said, "Well, what are you doing over there, kid? Come get in this 'ere boat. I need help on these waters. Not even offering help to the old..."

Symphony was again taken aback by the old man's attitude, so she just replied, "Okay. M-my apologies," and hopped into the boat, helping the old man settle the stuff in the boat and then set off.

  19. Symphony and her companion, Cloak, headed over the giant lake in the safe zone on the first floor. She had just been given a package from the artisan Hannah to deliver to an old fisherman named Ol' Pete. I just hope I can find the poor guy before he dies, Symphony thought to herself as she popped a piece of mint gum into her mouth and started chewing. As she passed through town, she smiled and waved to the players and NPCs that she knew. It was a nice day on the first floor, and she hoped the old man wouldn't need too much from her. He was so close to passing, he may just ask her for a kidney!

As she approaches the lake, she saw an old man with a long grey beard in long-johns loading up an old wooden boat. "Hello there, sir!" Symphony called as she walked up. The old man looked up with his tired eyes and saw the young woman approaching.

  21. Symphony yawned and took out her materials once more. Today, she was going to make a few jokey armors. High tier jokey armors. She grinned as she used some green leather as a background and then put a frog face on the first leather armor. Next, she made a highly sparkly and blinding armor with an evasion enchantment. It was so shiny and blinding that she had to wear sunglasses when making it. For the last armor, she based it off the sky above them. She used fluffy and pulled cotton to create white clouds around the sky blue armor.

  22. Symphony took the man's hand and got up. "Uh... yeah. Very nice to meet you." She stuck out her hand to shake theirs while saying, "My name is Symphony." She was bewildered at where these men had come from. She had never seen them before in the game, and the young one between them concerned her. She always had a motherly instinct, and her instinct was telling her something was wrong by the way the boy acted.

She tried to strike up a conversation to see what these three were doing out in the woods, especially a group of two men and what looked like a kid. "So, what are you guys doing out here? Going for a quest or something?" She wanted to gauge their answers and see if they were good men or not. And she knew the highly talkative one would give her the answers she needed in due time. Talkers like him rarely filtered what they said. She just hoped they weren't dangerous guys.

While she was waiting for a response, she happened to realize that Pinball had disappeared abnormally quickly. Great, now where did that idiot go? she thought to herself. And why does he always have to leave my quests... She stifled a sad sigh and kept the smile on her face, hiding her emotions.

  23. Symphony smiles and gently holds his face with her hand as they kiss. When they pull away, she holds his hand and starts walking towards the church with him, though she still has something to say about what he says. "My love, you deserve happiness and a good future." She smiled and squeezed his hand. "I'll make sure that you have the happiest future possible." She rested her head lightly against his shoulder as they walked. "That being said though, you still never answered if you'd want a priest or not." She giggled lightly to herself. Just one question had carried them both off topic quite a bit. But she enjoyed the places where these off-topic tangents led. It let them get to know each other just a little more.

She sighed happily to herself as they approached the church. "You ready, huh?" she asked, looking up at him. Her heart beat quickly as she thought about planning their wedding. What should I even wear? she thought to herself. She didn't really have a dress for the occasion or anything. She'd have to make one instead.

  24. Symphony smiled and laughed. "Man, I forget that people plan out fights. Guess I won't really fit the frontliner ideals, huh? Mine are usually spontaneous and well... just whatever works at that moment." She was used to fighting alone or in pairs, so a big boss fight wasn't something she was really familiar with. She had tried to take down the easter boss as a group because she was too weak to do it herself, but it turned out mainly a mess. She was used to trusting herself and no one else besides her familiar. She cut another piece of steak and savored it, chewing slowly as she thought.

"Congratulations on the future wedding as well. I'm planning mine right now, too. Fun things weddings are." She let a small smile play across her lips, thinking of her love. She sighed and then took another bite of mashed potatoes with gravy before she looked over at Jomei. "So do you have any questions about me?" She had seen that questioning look pass over his face when she had talked about her past.

    @Jomei

  25. Symphony smiled and pulled her sweetheart close. "I'm so glad you said yes!" she said, tears of happiness welling up in her eyes. "Oh, and if you'd like a band without a ring, I can arrange for one to be made for the wedding." She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and kisses him sweetly. "I love you, so much, Kat."

She got up and pulled him up with her. "We can go see the priest now." She giggled a little. "Though I know you probably don't like them. But we can always have him find us someone less... biased to marry us as well. It's your choice, hun. Back home in the real world, I did not have one god." She smiled. "I know it sounds strange, but after traveling around the world, I realized that nature is a god, beauty is a god, life is a god, etc. There are gods for everything, and everyone has their own god, so there must be many if everyone is right." She knew what she said sounded strange, but it was her philosophical take on life. If everyone believed in a different god, why couldn't they all be correct?
