  1. Symphony cast her line and waited a few minutes. Hm, nothing seemed to be biting at the moment, so she reeled the line back in and re-baited it with some raw steak. Then she took a moment to flip the skewers. They were browning nicely and beginning to give off a wonderful aroma. Before she forgot to again, she quickly salted and peppered the skewers to give them some extra flavor. Never could forget the good ol' salt and pepper.

Then she cast her line out again and yeeted that bad boy farther into the water. Now, she waited. Waited for a juicy little bugger to bit onto her line so that she could catch it and pull it in.

While she waited, she leaned towards the fire for some warmth. Her body was never warm enough and had never been good at regulating its own heat. She commended herself for remembering to bring the fire starter to make things easier and quicker to set up.

  2. Once Symphony and Cloak reached the lake, Cloak fluttered off of Symphony's shoulder and landed on the ground so that she could prepare the campsite. They were a few feet away from the edge of the lake. The ground was clear of snow here and flat, perfect to set up a tent and small fire. She first laid out a tarp to put the tent over, then pitched the tent. Lastly was the fire that she set up to the left of her tent, a safe distance away from it. She arranged some small twigs, lit it with a fire started, and then added branches and then finally a log to get it roaring. Then she prepared some steak, onions, and carrots, all chopped into nice pieces for skewers. She put the pieces on a few skewer sticks over the fire, letting them cook while she fished. She also tossed an extra raw piece over to crow as a before-lunch snack, which he gobbled happily.

  3. Cloak flew over and perched on his companion's shoulder, nuzzling her and checking to see if she was okay. Symphony appreciated his concern. "Thank you, Cloak," she assured him. "I'll be okay." It's not that she had suffered too much damage, but she had never taken so much before in a battle. She wasn't used to that much damage with one hit either. She slowly straightened her back and stood up, Cloak still on her shoulder. "Why don't we find somewhere to make a fire and fish for a snack?" she said to the bird. Cloak cawed in agreement. He was getting a bit peckish after his snack. So the two companions headed off to the North to find a nearby lake where Symphony could build up a fire and where they could relax and thaw out. Symphony was already prepared with a tent and a fire starter in her inventory. She thought ahead for these types of things, and had brought plenty of extra food in case of an emergency.

  4. Symphony had just barely recovered, so she took another hit, knocking her into a tree a few feet away. Alright, that's it! she thought angrily, her eyes glowing red, a bright contrast to her now charged blade. The blue glowing blade flew threw the air and into the enemy. It stuck in the thing's chest. She ran up and pulled the dagger out before the Avalanche could even register what had happened. Then she jumped high up in the air and used the rest of the three strikes of her sword art to slice through the neck of the creature. The head of the beast fell to the floor, its body following soon after. Panting heavily from the faint pings of pain and from the energy she had just used, she watched as the raid boss broke into pixels that scattered up into the air until they disappeared.

There, lying on the ground, was what she had been looking for. The Snowfrost agent. She picked it up and put in her inventory before collapsing onto one knee.

  5. With another mighty roar, it rushed towards her. She attempted to do a sword art to counter attack, but she was too late. She didn't have time to dodge either. At the last minute, she crossed her arms protectively in front of her, but it just brought the brunt of her damage to her weak forearms, shattering them. Symphony flew in the air and landed on her back several feet away. The pain of her arms stinging. She lay on her back, trying to move, but the wind was knocked completely out of her. She felt her arms tingle as her avatar fixed itself. The perks of being in a game, she thought while sitting up, grimacing at her aching arms. Sure, she might not feel the total pain of the break, but she still felt the ache of the cold attack.

Once she got up, the Avalanche realized it hadn't killed her, so it charged once more.

  6. Those glowing red eyes looked up at her, scathing and angry that this puny human could even come close to defeating it. For its large size, it suddenly moved quite quickly, raising its right fist and striking her several feet into the air. The strike hurt, but she still managed to land on her feet when she landed. She grabbed her chest. Ow, that hurt more than I thought it would, she thought to herself. She felt a searing cold pain grip her chest, but she fought to gain control once more. Breathing deeply, she charged her blade quickly and used a sword art to dash and cut a giant X shape into the chest of the enemy. After her last cut, she launched off of the enemy's chest and away from it with her feet. The Avalanche looked down at its chest and then looked back up at Symphony, opening its black hole of a mouth to unleash a deep roar loudly.

  7. Then she attacked! Stabbing the ice giant in the back of both of its leg-like features, two strikes on the two appendages. The ice thing fell to the ground, part of its arm cracking at the force of hitting the ground. "Good job with distracting it, Cloak!" she praised her familiar. To reward him, she pulled out a piece of jerky and threw it up in the air. He nimbly caught it and gobbled it happily, making cooing noises while doing so. Silly bird, Symphony thought to herself.

She took this brief moment of piece to chew on a piece of jerky and drink some hot chocolate from a canteen she had brought with her. While taking a snack break, she also walked around the beast and looked it over. It was a strange enigma indeed. It had appendages resembling arms and legs with a triangular shape with glowing eyes and a cavernous mouth coming out of its neck. That must be its head.

  8. The Avalanche monster screamed in pain and then charged at Symphony once more, enraged that this small creature had managed to cut part of its body off. It raised its fist to strike her, and Symphony dodged, the blow missing her by one an inch. She rolled out of the way and tried to go for another shot at the beast's back, but it had learned from the last time. It quickly turned around and faced her, ruining her chance at another easy assault. Her plan ruined, she whistled to Cloak to scout above and try to distract the thing while she looked for another angle of attack. Cloak happily swarmed around the ice creature's head, nimbly avoiding the fisting attacks. He cawed happily, enjoying seeing the large creature enraged by itself.

Good job, Cloak, Symphony thought in her head. Just keep the thing distracted and then I'll be able to land a shot. She snuck her way around the creature, making sure not step on any branches to give herself away.

  9. As they delved farther into the snowy land, she began to feel the ground shake below her. "Now, what could that be..." she thought aloud. The shaking began to get quicker. Then she realized, something huge was running at her. It was the Avalanche, the mighty monster that took pleasure in beating its enemies with mighty frozen fists of ice. She leaped out of the way of its charge, watching as the thing skidded to a stop and then turned around to face her. She would need to be careful in order to avoid its fists.

She waited for the Avalanche to charge again. She quickly dodged and jumped on its back before it could turn around once more. With a yell, she used a sword art to cut four times into the monster's back, removing quite a chunk from its back. The chunk of ice fell to the floor and melted.

  10. Symphony shivered despite all of her clothing. She left the safety of the town and delved deeper into the snowy forest surrounding the area. A few weeks ago, a young group of players had stupidly gone out by themselves and awoken a small raid boss called an Avalanche. They described it as being a 10 foot figure made out of pure ice that beat its enemies with its might icy fists. They said that when it hit you, it would chill the very bones in your body. Now, Symphony wasn't scared of this creature in the slightest. She just wanted the rare item that it held for future fights: the salve known as Snowfrost. Once applied to armor, it would protect the wearer from a good portion of fire damage. Symphony knew she would need such an item in future boss fights or whenever she made it to frontlines in the very distant future.

    4 minutes ago, Symphony said:

    mistake

  11. Symphony stepped into the town of Snowfrost. It was cold as anything, so she was bundled in a layer of a thick shirt, her light armor, and a white jacket. Her lower half was wearing thick black pants with fluffy socks on her feet inside of her black combat boots. She breathed, and her breath fogged in the air. "I don't like it here, Cloak," she said to her feathery raven familiar. He cawed, happily enjoying the weather and flying through the snow covered branched of the trees. Symphony absolutely hated the cold. Her body just wasn't made for it. The cold seeped into her bones and aggravated her old injuries, even after she went inside into a warm room. The pain would always persist for up to 24 hours after she was exposed to too much coldness.

She trudged into the town and looked around. Just two taverns and an inn. Not much here, she thought. There were a few shops strewn about, but she didn't stop to check them out. She was here on a quest and wanted to get in, kill a thing, and then get the heck out.

  12. Symphony raised an eyebrow as Katsuki leaned in to whisper something to the priest. This man is up to something, she thought. But she continued to smile and go along with everything. When the priest mentioned size, she tried to think of anyone she could invite. She didn't really have any close friends to invite, and she liked the thought of having a small wedding between themselves. She was happy that Katuski shared the same thoughts as well. "I'm perfectly fine with a small wedding between the two of us as well," she agreed with her love. "It will be private and just the two of us." She winked up at Katsuki and then looked back at the priest. "Oh, and you, too, father!" she said to the priest while smiling. She couldn't wait for the wedding.

Though, something was on the back of her mind. She still needed to tell Kat something important before they went through with things. He needed to know her secret plan so that he could decide whether she was worth the risk or not... She took note to talk to him about it later when they were alone.

  13. Symphony's eyes widened as she watched Jomei finish the beast off. So that's the type of damage a frontliner can do, she thought. She hoped she could become as powerful as that one day. "Awe, you didn't save any for me," she teased, laughing. "Maybe we can find some more harder enemies, huh?" She started walking again, making the way through the mud slowly. "If only this stuff wasn't so thick or something." She kept falling deeper into the slush. Ugh, my boots and jeans are gonna be ruined by this stuff.

She decided to make some conversation while they trudged through the swamp. "So, how long did it take you to reach a high enough level to become a frontliner?" She was curious how long it would take her. She wanted to be up there paving the way for other players so that they could all be free from this hell.

  14. She heard some footsteps behind her and sat up, turning. It was the old man once again. "Hey, Ol' Pete. What's up? Did you need some more help today?" she said lazily.

The old man grumbled. "No. I forgot your payment though." He dropped a package in front of her. "Here. My wife made if fer ya. She said a kid like you needs to eat properly." He started to shuffle away back to his place in town.

Symphony looked down at the package and smiled. "Thanks, Pete," she said, opening the package. It was a seasoned salmon with lemon slices on top. Her mouth immediately began to water. She tucked the item back inside her inventory. The old man grumbled again. "You're welcome." Good old man he was. She hoped he lived out the rest of his days happily with his wife. The woman sounded nice, and her actions were quite nice as well.

  15. She was fishing up a good amount of materials today. She had gathered eleven so far. Now she would definitely have enough to try and make herself a perfect T1 armor. She only had a rare set of armor, and it made things a bit frustrating in battle. The Mii theme song began to idly play through her head. Doo do do do do doo doo doo. Doo doo doo! doo doo do, doo do dooooo do do. Do do do do, do do do do do do doo, do do do do do do! do do do! doo doo... (It is a valid song, and I am trying to use up space. Please do not judge.) She tapped her foot to the beat and sighed, the song now stuck in her head. It would probably be stuck in there for quite a while now. Such was the way of the Mii song.

After much effort, she reeled in 3 materials and tucked them into her inventory happily. Then she put the reel back in its holder and relaxed once more. Nice breeze, not too bright of a sun. It was a peaceful moment in a world of death. Too nice, but okay for the moment. She blew some more bubbles and stretched in the sun, enjoying the warmth against the cool breeze. She felt like a seal sunning on a nice rock or something. Just really warm and nice. She felt safe for once. It felt... nice. But she knew not to trust such things. Being lulled into a false sense of security was what killed players here. Especially the beginners. Cloak cawed above her as he looked for fish to eat.

  17. Symphony stared up at the sky once again as she let the fishing rod do its thing. When the rod started pulling, she reeled it in and discovered a leather material on the end of the line. She put the piece of leather into her inventory to be used for crafting at a later time. Then she threw the line back into the water and yeeted the rod back into its holder at the side of the dock/pier. She laid back down and looked up the sky, resting her eyes and still chewing her gum. Chew chew chew. She blew bubbles and let them pop against her lips as a calm breeze brew over her. It felt nice.

Above her, Cloak soared on the easy breeze over the lake. It was easy flying with the nice winds they were having. He watched Symphony as she rested her eyes and made sure to watch out for any enemies that could approach her.

  18. Symphony flinched as she saw Arabelle in her weakened state. She needed to make another successful hit so that she could gather the enemy's hate. She hat more mitigation than the poor girl. She ran up to try and stab the thing in its neck. She managed to hit her mark, but was immediately smacked into the sky about 30 feet and came crashing back down way over by Arabelle. "Oof..." she moaned as she landed. She slowly got up and braced herself against a tree. "Yeah. [censored] that guy."

She spit out some blood onto the ground, and her familiar Cloak came to check on her. She kissed the sweet bird. "I'm okay, buddy. Just keep an eye out in case the thing charges again." Cloak cawed and flew off above the beast.

She looked over at both Prometheus and Arabelle. Now her temper was getting the best of her now that she was in pain. "You too shut up and stop bickering," her tone uncharacteristically harsh. "Hit something and actually do something. And you, Arabelle," she looked over at the girl. "I can take a few more hits for you, but heal quickly." She marched back up to the sidelines to watch Katagawa.

  19. Symphony smiled and looked up adoringly into Katsuki's eyes. "I was already prepared to spend money on a custom ring for you, my love. But I don't require anything special." She looked back to the priest. "Yes, I do have a custom design that I'm willing to pay extra for," she told the man, who then looked down and pulled out a sheet of paper for the design. Symphony covered the sheet with her other hand as she wrote with her right so that Kat wouldn't see what she was going to get him. After she handed the paper back to the priest, she winked at Katsuki and teasingly stuck her tongue out at him. "I'm getting you a ring fit for a king. My king." She giggled and took her love's hand in her own.

She pulled out the a pouch of 2000 col and laid it on the table with a heavy *thunk* in front of the priest. She smiled and said, "Here ya go. That should be enough for the design." The priest happily and quickly took the pouch and tucked it into his robes. Greedy thing, she thought to herself.

"Thank you for your charity, miss," the priest said, smiling. False smile and all.

  20. The paralysis wore off, and the mangled beast tried its best to attack the woman. But she just slit its throat and watched it drop dead, its body exploding into thousands of pixels. She sighed. "My toy is gone." She pouted and then checked the loot that the monster had dropped. Hm, some pretty good stuff, she thought to herself. This should be a good amount of money... enough to save up for the wedding. She smiled and tucked the loot into her inventory. Seems like she had found some more items that needed identifying as well. So much money to spend identifying them. She could also possibly sell them. Whichever was more possible. She also already had items in shop getting identified as well. She needed to check with the shop keep to see how things were progressing. She stretched and walked back over to the edge of the pier, picking up her fishing rod once more.

  21. Before the thing could even get a chance to start moving again, she used her dagger to stab it in the spine and paralyze it once more. Then she used a sword art to make four deep cuts to open the arms of the beast. Even stranger, Symphony thought. The inside of the arms had a human bone structure. But how it connected to the neck and shoulders of the rest of the creature she couldn't quite figure out. She poked at the muscles and watched as the arms of the creature twitched involuntarily. She sighed and poked a bone of the creature. It screamed in pain, so she poked it again. Now it just whimpered in pain. Then she went back to the back and vertebrae of the creature. In its opened back, she could even see what looked like kidneys. She poked them, and the creature screamed louder.

  22. She threw out her blade before the thing could attack it and hit it in the right eye. The thing was paralyzed from the affect of her blade and fell to the floor, twitching in utter pain. She took out the blade with the eyeball attached. Cloak dived down to catch as she threw the tasty eye up as a treat for her lovely companion. "Alright, so while you can't move, I'm going to have some fun," she said to the paralyzed monster. She made four slashes in its back, cutting the first layers of the skin of the creature open. She saw the fat along its spine and poked it. No movement. Hm, no fun while it's paralyzed, she thought to herself. As she poked and prodded the thing further, she realized the bone structure and anatomy of the creature was an absolute mess. Shortened spine, misshapen ribs. Absolute abomination.

  23. Again, the thing tried to attack her. She just stepped out of the way. She blew a bubble and popped it, then charged her blade. A grin crossed her face, and the frog fish knew he was royally hecked. With a twisted grin, she stabbed the thing for more times, in its back this time. The thing squealed and she let Cloak get back to torturing the darn thing. "That's for jumping out at me instead of letting me get useful materials or a chest." She played with her dagger while she waited for the Cloak to have enough fun with the thing. Then a twisted thought entered her head. I wonder how much I can torture this thing? she thought morbidly. She had cut open frogs and fish in zoology class at university. But she had never gotten the chance to cut open this type of abomination. She licked her lips and readied her blade once more.

  24. Well, I guess I should put this weird mutation of a creature out of its misery, she thought to herself as she charged her blade. While Cloak distracted the freakish monster, she charged and stabbed the frog fish in the gut, neck, weird tail-back-of-the-head thing, and leg. The odd creature flailed and wailed a weird sound upon the pier. That is ungodly and unnatural. The thing then tried to lash out at Symphony, but she easily leaped back and dodged the attack. Cloak came back and landed in front of the creature taunting it, and pecking at the abomination. Symphony just watched it happen and popped another piece of gum into her mouth. At least I get some entertainment during this fight. Kinda mean, but kinda funny. She sighed and stretched, taking a break to watch the scene in front of her. Once she figured the thing had had enough torture, she marched over and drew her blade. Cloak moved out of the way for her.

  25. Symphony laughed as she watched Jomei get stuck in teh mud. "Not too light on your feet, huh?" she teased, giving him a hand to get up. However, as she was pulling him up, the snake saw the perfect chance to charge. The monster was a few inches from her face when she dropped Jomei's hand and brought her dagger across its body, paralyzing and damaging the creature. Now that the thing couldn't move, she took another shot at helping Jomei up. With a struggle and a groan, she finally got him out of the mud. "Geez, you're a heavy one, aren't ya?"

Once she had freed him, she poked the beast with her stick. It let out a tiny hiss, but could not move at all. "Well, you can go ahead and take a shot at it now. If you miss, I'm gonna... Well, I can't say I won't be mildly disappointed." She smiled and patted Jomei on the back.
