night: why're you messaging me night: cld just tell me to come downstairs sleepy. was it already time to get up...? nari's new home was smaller, sure. and night having not paid attention to the actual dimensions of the furniture, would've guessed the bed was smaller too. had it not been someone else's home, she would've skirted down the stairs with the blankets still wrapped around her form. a tired shambling down the steps -- it was the cold, she'd argue, that made her so lethargic today -- and the woman tried to stir awake upon noticing onora's presence. sure, the player di

NIGHT replied to Nari-Lanreth's topic in Beginner Floors
night found herself rolling her eyes at the mention of her broker. and here she figured she had the chance of the introduction. "the cintamani," she corrected her other, hands stuffed into pockets of thick pants. "though i feel like i should've taken you there instead. i'd mentioned about it the first time..." the rest of the words seemed to fade from her tongue, wispy nostalgia stopping her mouth still. night pressed her lips together, corners upturned, glancing over to nari as they strolled. her eyes tracked the other's back once the player had shot up to the teleporter, and rose to the -

NIGHT replied to Nari-Lanreth's topic in Beginner Floors
"--eh?" two blinks, and a confused expression. night watched the somber in the corners of her other and thought better of it. still, part of her clung onto some strange modicum of relief. something about easing up around the lack of a raging fire, and that damned ringing... "... sure, if you... feel like it." she allowed herself to be dragged into the home from the cold. and despite the atmosphere of the new house (night had to admit it was rather cozy), she knew herself better than to strip off the extra layers catered to the snow. though cardinal really wanted her to, it seeme -

up late last night? the player slid a gloved hand up nari's back as she caught the woman, pressing into the hug. the sounds of a muffled, "without me?" came from the lean forward, lips pressed to soft hair, and night let her partner go, if only briefly. part of her wondered if it was the frost of the floor biting at what exposed skin her jacket hadn't covered, or if it could be the chill of her companion falling into her element. bare fingers slid behind night's neck. the player's eyes narrowed, thinking what those plans entailed. if it'd been something urgent or dire, wouldn't nari have -
the two visitors surprised her, first more than the other -- rarely was she aware of anyone calling out in enthusiasm when entering a shop any more. col was exchanged at an acceptable rate. night only broke her focus on the crafts once her stock got bought, and sealed the circlet when it was done. paper wrapping, the usual packaging. a few blinks through some menus and she sent a message out to the customer. night: ready for pick up when she strode back to her round table, she'd only then noticed her tea gotten cold. a sigh, a search for a heat stone of some kind through her i

a name whispered under her breath. she wasn't lucid; only a fool would believe in rumors just by word of mouth alone, and she was but an arm of one, once they'd pushed her to investigate the strange message in her inventory. although, bistro was right. at least it didn't look like spam mail this time. so imagine night's surprise when the world unveiled gold around her. different shades of brass and bronze and sparkling desert hues. if cardinal could create an environment that looked as holy as thus -- well, the first name that came to her mind as the sunlight shimmered across gilded surfa

NIGHT replied to Nari-Lanreth's topic in Merchants and Shops
so... how would night explain this? even as she shuffled into the store, the player found herself a little dazed, and she wasn't sure if it was the echos, the heat of the forge, or if it was the flavour in her hands. it seemed like a necessary component. even more so was the armor that definitely fit her counterpart well. but letting go of the weapon without first giving a peck to her other (a distraction, she justified) felt like hell. even if nari wouldn't understand the writing on the menus, the act would speak for more than she could bring herself to say. dropping these off. @Na -
two birds, it'd said. and despite knowing only a pair of wolves rather than a flock, his name was literally in the weapon. so it made sense that it went to koga, and yet... it looked minute. almost standard. a short katana, almost shorter than the one she used against macradon in the tournament. night didn't give the weapon any further thought than its delivery, slipping the sword by its sheathe onto the counter, allowing it to settle on the wood with a clack. and the jingle was all that she would leave her friend with as a notice to her presence. koga would know what to do with the rest.

NIGHT replied to iris's topic in Merchants and Shops
she stared at the foreign characters, hoping to gleam something of cardinal's processes from them. she couldn't. and night looked over her menus after inspecting the items for pick up; iris, uncharacteristically and daintily, was sweeping her shop, and with masa and jean in the back. so, certainly; they may not have given the items a second thought. but the adventurer would. with a tired exhale, she accepted the items from trade, the sigh her only complaint, before starting to shuffle out. "oh, watch for that corner." one of the women pointed it out to her. night stopped, backed -

one more bulk of objects directed iris' way. this collection should've been sent off first, night realized, but as time went on and things slipped her mind, so too did this stash of equipment. whatever. it was fine. she was only human to have erred in her delivery. but as she set the items into the trade window with jean, she couldn't help but wonder how strange it was to feel against parting with the loot in general. players didn't need an attachment to items that made little benefit to them, did they...? at the sight of her wry expression, she could've sworn the other player hesita -

she'd thought, in her dreams, she'd said the words, "i won't." she'd thought, in that space between realms, with her surroundings slightly amiss, there was a reason that they'd come out to those emerald fields, hands held slightly amiss. given the environment, she was certain they were on floor one. she was certain she remembered it being the end of the world. and ren considered the skies, a luminant blue, with wisp-edged clouds and the markings of a tower in the distance. scattered outlines of trees obscured the rest of the hills from view and she thought she thought the heavens wou

she couldn't remember what was said, exchanged under hushed voices, the woman trying to justify her late appearance and the presence of the estate owner unconscious in her hands. one quip exchanged for another, though both night and onora knew for the better to keep conversation to a minimum. and up the steps, to the room she was certain to remember was nari's. the moment she spotted the bathroom door from the entrance, all doubt left her mind. night sighed, gently nudging the door to match its frame before pressing against it with her back. it shut behind her with a sturdy click, just a

what kind of question was that? night hadn't put much thought into the arrangement -- at best, she'd figured, hauling the other upon her back would at least seem to not be out of place in the city. but the more she watched nari starting to doze off, the more that was likely not the best option for the scenario. night said nothing, opting to shift around her companion instead, setting aside the bowls of cream soup with a back-handed push. as she did, she swore the woman might've been starting to slip from her seat; all she could do was press her front close to nari, the latter woozy.

if anything, it sounded like the woman was incredibly exhausted by now. they were out for an entire day after all, and night couldn't help not to blame her. through those stuttered sentences, night couldn't help but smile hearing those words broken up. she caught little of its contents, the message too disjoined for registry, but it was cute all the same. "nothing's wrong with your weapon," night said briefly. "but if the rest of your build's on the defensive side of things, combat can get slow at times." it made her completely aware of her own fragility, not having much armor to speak of

hands that went from the top of her head to her skin. night traced over nari's cheek with the side of her index as the woman slumped over, before collecting a lock of hair in her palm. her thumb smoothed over a spot gently, the player resting her cheek on her elbow at the movements. small appetite, she'd noticed. night took no second glances at the dessert in her pause to think. when she had her answer, the toying hand went towards her partner's shoulder. it stayed, unmoving. "i mean, i wouldn't have picked an element or an animal, for one. but there are a few armor pieces that hold enhan
