  1. "Sorry about that. My familiar isn't a morning person."

Violet perked up. "Familiar? Where!" she asked as she accepted the party invite. She walked over and tried to peek into his pocket by hopping, but Yukiro was still too tall for her to see anything. Dahlia seemed just as intrigued as well. She went up to the man and sniffed his pants legs. Violet made a motion with her hand, signalling Dahlia to stay down, which she obeyed.

Violet looked up at Yukiro and smiled. "I see you got a lot done since we last saw each other." She looked up at his stats glowing above his head. "And you've leveled as well. Good. Less likely for anyone to take you out."

She turned and led the way out of town. "Come on. Let's head out. I want to get back before dinner. Then maybe we can sit down and eat together." She smiled back at him.

  2. Violet charged to the spider, suddenly changing direction as it lashed out with its fangs. She grinned. It had done exactly what she had wanted it to. She knew the spider would have expected her to charge straight forward like she had before, so she had dodged around where its fangs would strike at the last second. She quickly had dodged behind the beast, her blade glowing as her sword art activated. "Take this!" she yelled as she stabbed the large spider in its abdomen repeatedly. The spider quickly turned around, lashing out with its fangs and front arms, but it was too late: Violet had already leaped back and out of the way of its expected attack. She grinned and licked her blade. "Hm, maybe I should make some spider jerky out of you once I kill you," she teased. As the spider was distracted with its wounds for the moment, she took the chance to look over her own. She flexed her left arm and was relieved to feel nothing torn or bruised. Her skills would not be inhibited at all now.

  3. Violet grimaced and growled at the beast, "Well, I see you're at least a worthy opponent. But you'd do best to be more careful. My hits cause pain as well." She kept her left arm by her side as she leaped and attempted to stab down on the spider's head once more. But the large spider was prepared for the attack, grabbing Violet by the same injured arm with its fangs and throwing her against a tree. Violet's attack had no chance of hitting. As she hit the tree, she tucked her head in, protecting herself from any additional head trauma. She slowly got up from the ground, clutching her left arm and grimacing as the wounds began to heal again. "You darn, [censored]," she uttered as she attempted to straighten herself back up, dagger at the ready and clutched firmly. The spider hissed as it saw its opponent rise back to its feet. It bared its fangs, ready for another attack.

  4. "Hey. How are you?" Violet heard Yukiro's voice say from behind her. She turned around, a smile on her face. "Ah, so you finally made it. Go ahead and pick up-" Before she could finish speaking, Violet was interrupted by the low growls coming from her companion, Dahlia. She looked down at the leopard, who then pounced and knocked Yukiro to the ground, her teeth bared in his face.

"Dahlia, down!" Violet commanded in a loud, low voice. The leopard turned back and sulked back to her companion's side, still looking restless. "Yukiro is a friend," Violet explained in a quiet, calm voice as she bent down and pet Dahlia's head. The black leopard let out a low purr and then sat up straight next to her human. Violet turned once more to look at Yukiro, her face flushed in embarrassment. "Um, sorry about that. She's still protective. You know, we're just two killers walking about. We're used to not trusting others." She grinned and laughed. "But anyways, go and grab the quest. Then we can head out."

    @Yukiro

  5. As Violet stepped forward, a giant spider standing at about 3 feet tall jumped out of the brush and landed on the ground a few feet in front of the pair, fangs bared. "Stay back!" Violet yelled as she pulled out her dagger, ready to let the enemy have a taste of her blade. Before she could even think, the spider charged forward, sinking its fangs into the flesh of her left arm. "Gaah!" she cried out as she stabbed the thing in one of its eight eyes, making the fangs release her from their grip. Her blade glowed with an orangish hue as she activated her sword art, striking the spider three more times in the side of its head. Then Violet drew back, clutching her arm as the spider staggered to the side due to its wounds. She looked down at her arm, mangled and inflamed. But with the way that the game worked, there was no blood, and the wounds began to close up slightly.

  6. Violet walked out of the town of Delilah and into the Forest of Wavering Mist that lay to the North of the town. The third floor was moderate in temperature today, and the fog in the forest was not too dense at the moment. At Violet's side was Dahlia, her new familiar. Today they had set out to try and discover Dahlia's gift that would help her partner in battle. As the two walked through the forest, the ground lightly covered in a fog, Violet kept an eye out for any enemies that may be lurking in the shadows, waiting to attack them. "Be careful, Dahlia. Although I'm a higher level than when we first met, there are still dangerous enemies on this floor that could take us out in a heartbeat." Her right hand rested on the hilt of her dagger, prepared to throw it at an enemy in the blink of an eye. She looked down at her familiar, who was searching the surrounding forest as well, her ears up and alert.

  7. Violet sent a message to her friend Yukiro a message:

    Quote

Meet me inside the grove of trees. Hannah should be there.

    -Violet Delta Smith

She hit the send button and looked up. Currently, she was in the town square, her new familiar Dahlia by her side. Dahlia was a 3 foot tall black leopard with golden eyes. Violet was also wearing a new set of armor: a black leather piece that covered her shoulders and upper torso.

A smile settled on her lips as she walked over to the grove located near the center of town. She found Hannah sitting on a rock under a large tree, drawing one of the birds in its leaves. "Hey, I have a package for you," Violet said suddenly, bluntly. She held out the package, and Hannah took it carefully from her hands.

"Oh, thank you! I was waiting for this delivery," Hannah said as she opened the package, revealing a golden band. "Now all I need is the gem to fit into the middle of the band. That's where you come in," she said, smiling over at Violet.

Violet sighed. "Of course... she sends me on another search quest. Alright. Where and what," she said shortly. Hannah then proceeded to explain that the gem was located in a dark bat to the North East of the Town of Beginnings.

  8. Violet was just finishing up a ham sandwich when she received James' message. She popped the small amount that was left of her sandwich into her mouth and jogged over to his shop, which was nearby. She headed right up to the counter and picked up the armor, equipping it. She checked her stats. "Mit and light momentum. Nice," she said, a small smile across her lips. "Thank you once again, James. See ya later." She turned and headed out the door in a hurry, ready to test out her new armor. Her loyal companion, Dahlia, followed right behind her.

  9. Violet quickly walked into the shop and right over to James, who was bent over some identifications on his work table. A black leopard followed closely by her side, sniffing around at the air of the shop. Violet knocked on the counter to get James' attention and then laid down the light armor she held on the table in front of him. "Hey. James. I got a new item for you to identify." She laid down a bag of col onto the table. "Here is your payment. Just message me when you're all finished." She waved goodbye and left the shop, heading out for some lunch.

  10.  "Don't worry, you're doing a good job. Though putting a knife to my throat.. probably not the best way to start." Her blush deepened and she mentally facepalmed herself. Man, I should probably work on my making-friends skills some time rather than trying to kill everyone, she thought to herself. Though right after, she changed her tune a bit. Well, a little murder isn't too bad once in a while.

She was snapped back to reality as Vandrin spoke again. "Come on, lets get back into town."

"Ah, right!" she said as she followed Vandrin back to town, enjoying his company as they walked through the forested area surrounding the Town of Beginnings. Then she noticed him sigh. She blushed in shame and looked down. She figured that she hadn't made his day any easier. Then he asked her where she stayed and offered to walk her there. She smiled and said, "I'm staying above one of the taverns in town. I'll lead you there." She eagerly grabbed his hand and led him to the tavern.

  11. Violent smiled, letting the giant toad get only three feet in front of her before she reached out and plunged her dagger into its chest. She grinned and closed her eyes as the pixels burst around her, the toad's health points at zero. She opened her eyes and looked down at a pile of loot. It had dropped a few materials and a bit of col. Satisfied with the reward, she turned around and walked over to Dahlia. "Alright, hun. It's time to head out. Let's get going," she said as she started walking back towards the teleporter. The two walked in a happy silence, enjoying the peaceful monkeys swinging high above their heads and the birds wisping through the branches above them. Today had been a good day. Violet had gained a friend and Dahlia had found a human that she could help care for and they the same for her.

  12. She dashed forward once more as the giant toad was still recovering. Slash! Slash! She cut into the toad once more, her blade ablaze with a red hue. She was still grinning as she jumped out of the way of the toad's tongue as it retaliated against her attack. As she landed back on the ground, she was laughing. "Ah, it seems in the end I finally win. Just like always." She sighed and yawned. "Too bad you couldn't take me down to any actual dangerous amount of health. Oh well. Maybe I need to climb to higher levels in order to find something challenging." She looked back towards the toad, which was now shaking its head clear of its pain-driven stupor. "Oh? Trying to attack me one more time? Alright. I'll give you one more chance," she said as she faced the frog, standing still. The toad began to charge towards her.

  13. As the giant toad charged towards her, it was like everything started moving in slow motion. She breathed in deep and activated her sword art, the blade glowing a fiery red. "Ahhh!" she screamed as she threw her knife forward towards the charging toad. The blade entered its chest, going all the way up to the hilt. The impact and pain managed to stop the toad in its frog for a few moments. This small pause in combat allowed Violet to dash forward, grabbing her blade and jumping down onto the beast, stabbing it in the back. The frog convulsed in pain and threw the woman off of its back. Violet landed on her feet a few feet away, unhurt and smiling. "I told you I would give you pay back. And I intend to kill you, so if you could please die with this next shot, I would greatly appreciate it." Her smile turned into a large grin as she lowered herself towards the ground, her knife held out, ready to bite into the flesh of the frog.

It appeared that the giant toad was now driven by its anger, which could cause it to become deadly. Its anger also made it quite faster than it had been before. It used this buff in speed to dash towards Violet, lashing out with its tongue as it did so. Violet managed to dodge in the nick of time as the beast crashed through the trees that she had been standing in front of just a few moments before. The beast's attack was so powerful that it managed to knock down several trees with its body. The toad slowly turned around, hopping awkwardly to try and turn itself in the right direction. Violet braced herself for another attack, knowing she had to be extra careful now. She raised her weapon in defense.

Her eyes were burning with a fierce fire now as she picked up speed, now jogging, then running in a powerful attack against the beast in front of her. "Take this!" she screamed as she jumped high in the air, coming down and letting gravity help her slam her blade deep into the back of the beast. The giant toad let out a loud squeal and began thrashing about, trying to throw Violet off. The woman managed to get one more hit in before leaping off of the unstable back of the beast. She rolled onto the ground, picking herself back up and watching as the toad hopped around some more, upset at its own pain. "Payback's a [censored], isn't it?" Violet muttered under her breath as she braced herself for another attack. She wanted to end this battle as quickly as possible.

  16. However, that smile did not last for long as her eyes widened. The giant frog was charging towards her quickly in a sudden show of speed. She was trapped by a thick growth of trees behind her. Crap, she thought as she braced herself. She didn't have any time to dash away. The toad was moving towards her too quickly. Bam! The toad hit her with its body, launching her into a tree a few feet behind her. Her head smacked against the bark of the tree as she flew into it and fell to the ground. "Gah! That hurt!" she exclaimed as she picked herself back up and rubbed the back of her head. Her vision was dizzy for a few seconds, but she finally regained her senses and glared at the beast. Now she had a pounding headache, which did not amuse her in the slightest.

A few feet away, Dahlia stood up and in a defensive stance, ready to jump in if things became too rough. A low growl could be heard coming from her mouth.

I'd love to hear you beg for mercy as I cut you into pieces," she said while pacing around the beast once more. As she paced towards the back of the toast, she launched forward, prepared for another counter attack. The toad tried to jump around and lash out at her with its tongue, but she was prepared. She lashed out and cut the piece of tongue that tried to wrap around her, causing the toad to flinch just long enough to allow her to slash into its body, stabbing it twice. Her blade was glowing with her sword art, digging deep into the muscles of the beast. Once she had finished her attack, she launched herself off of the beast and landed gracefully onto the jungle floor below. She smiled as she watched the toad try and clean its wounds, its tongue regenerating slowly.

It waited for her to attack this time. Activating her sword art once more, she dashed forward, bringing her blade down towards the thick skin of the animal. However, at the last second, the toad managed to grab her around the waist with its tongue. It threw her towards a tree next to Dahlia, hoping to hurt Violet with the force of the impact. But Violet managed to brace herself and barely felt the force of the impact. Her armor protected her from any harm that could be done to her. This attack against her only managed to tick Violet off more. "I will not show any more mercy," she growled as her weapon glowed, the enhancement activating once more. The wounds on the toad that had closed up, ripped open once more, causing the beast to cry out in pain.

She took a deep breath and activated her sword art, the blade glowing with a deep reddish hue. At max speed, she charged towards the toad, dodging another tongue attack, and dashed around and over it, lashing at it twice. Her dagger made deep cuts in the moist skin of the beast. As she backed away, her weapon enhancement activated. The beast's wounds burst open, unable to heal. The toad let out a giant squeal as it rolled around on the ground in pain. Violet smirked. "That's what you get for hurting me you oversized pincushion." Dahlia did a low roar of approval from where she was now sitting, letting Violet know that the woman had her support. Violet looked back and smiled. "I'll be finished soon enough, Dahlia."

"How dare you try to squish me like a tiny bug!" she shouted at the giant toad as she charged her sword art and charged towards the giant beast. She jammed her blade into both of its sides, making the beast cry out in pain.

Still standing a few feet back, Dahlia watched as her companion fought the toad. She was a little concerned over the hit that her partner had taken earlier, but it seemed like the woman could handle herself. For now, she wouldn't jump in.

Violet checked her health. If things became too dire, she could always pop a health potion or run away. She made note to use one of the potions if her health became lower than 30 HP. She didn't want to waste the thing by using it at above half health or something.

  21. As the two walked back towards the main town of the sixth floor, a large toad hopped out onto the path in front of them, blocking their course. "Hey, move it will ya?!" Violet yelled at the giant toad. This seemed to only piss the thing off as it hopped and turned to face Violet, lashing out its tongue at her. She attempted to dodge the quick attack, but it caught her by surprise, slamming her into a tree several feet from where she had been standing previously. "Gah!!!" she let out a yell of pain as she was bashed against the hard, unmoving object. However, she would not take a blow without fighting back. She quickly brought up her blade and cut out the tip of the toad's tongue that had been holding her. The toad screeched and drew its damaged tongue back into its mouth, now even angrier.

  22. As Violet left the tent entrance, Dahlia got up and nuzzled her side. Violet turned to ask the gypsy a question, but when she turned around the tent and the mysterious NPC were gone. Violet just stood there for a moment, trying to process what had just happened. Was that a glitch? Was it a player tricking her? She sighed and laughed. She may never know, but the mysterious gypsy had given her a mission. Get to frontlines and get the hell out of this game. "Thanks, gypsy," she said as she turned and walked away, walking back into the maze of a jungle that made up the sixth floor. Dahlia followed behind her, tail swishing to and fro casually. Violet looked down at her familiar. "So, I guess we're in this together until the end, huh?" She thought for a second while walking. "You know, I like the sound of that. Two killers taking it to front lines to finish off this game. Sounds pretty fun." Violet laughed and Dahlia huffed in agreement as the two walked through the thick brush.

  23. Violet was taken aback by all this information. Mother of the animals? Good and bad beasts? And how had she known that Violet had just killed a snake -- one of her supposed bad children? Violet wore an expression of utter confusion. This amused the gypsy, who laughed lightly. "It is alright. I understand your confusion. Just know that I was created to protect the animals that eventually become the player familiars. I raise them, teaching them to protect and bond with players of good and strong heart." She approached Violet, placing her hand on the young woman's shoulder. "You are of good heart, Violet Delta Smith. Now, take your familiar and continue to fight. You will need to become stronger if you are ever going to leave this world." She smiled and stepped back, sitting herself back on the cushion.

All that Violet could say was, "O-okay. I will, ma'am." For some reason, she felt awe-struck. The gypsy pointed gently towards the door, where her familiar roared to her, as if saying she was impatient and that it was time to go. "I guess I'll take my leave then," Violet said as she bowed and left the tent.
