  1. With the effects of poison completely subsided, Assassin was already feeling good enough to stand back to her feet. She pulled herself up to full height and looked up to Ariel. "Thanks, I'm fine now. Let's go turn this quest in so I can get stronger."

    The Assassin led the way back to town. It wasn't that far from their battlefield so she could do it with little to no help. Upon re-entering the pub, she could see the NPC taking a rest in the corner table like he had been when they initially picked up the quest. She took the item over to him and showed it off, letting him know that the wolves had been slain and his business could resume without much problem.

    When business with him was done, Assassin sighed and looked back to her Aneki. "So, what do you want to do now? I've dragged you around for help for awhile now, so I should help you do something in return right?"

  2. Assassin quietly nodded, accepting the prompt that appeared on the quest that was necessary to gain the marker for the location. The girl they were looking for was probably going to be close to the age of herself, if not younger. For some reason, Assassin felt the need to put herself into this quest. If she was the child stranded right now, she would want someone to come and help her. It would be unfair of her not to help this woman. "We'll make sure your daughter is alright and bring her home. I won't let any meanies hurt her." Assassin said to the mother.

    Assassin decided to head in front of the tank, leading the way slightly. This quest was leveled closely to Assassin and probably a little too easy for Snow to complete comparably. Replaying the things that Snow said in her mind, Assassin was wondering if she should respond. Were the bad thing that she's done really that redeemable? Stealing people stuff and having killed a person? She hadn't meant to do it, but it happened... How was she going to recover from that?

    @Snow

  3. Assassin watched carefully as Ariel beheaded the wolf completely. Only the strong would survive in this world, and even with the help of Ariel, she would find a way to become strong like her. She wouldn't end up like that wolf just did, no way.

    Sitting on the ground, still not feeling the best after having been bitten by that wolf. The child coughed another fit, and watched her health points suffer more. Thankfully, the icon that inflicted her HP had gone and she was still sitting around 3/4th of her total HP. She was barely able to catch the vial that Ariel tossed her way.

    "Th-Thanks." Still finding it a bit difficult to make words come out even thought the poison effect was gone. "We'll go turn this in so I can get stronger. If I keep this up, I could become really strong like Aneki, right? No more getting beaten up by meanies."

  4. "N-No I'm-" The child coughed a fit momentarily before she could get the words out. The poison status effect was really doing its number on her. Once her fit was over she looked up tried to give Ariel a smile. "I'm fine, thanks to you."

    Her attention shifted back to her enemy. The wolf lay there completely dazed, unable to react to anything that was happening around it. The Assassin relieved expression turned to anger. She wasn't going to sit down and let a stupid meanie beat her up. The dagger held in a underhanded grip glowed purple once more. It was going to pay for hurting her.

    The girl dropped on to her knees next to the wolf, her gaze staring daggers into its. A purple blade gashed deep into the neck of the wolf, four precise attacks clawed its way into the canine's jugular. A natural poison of her own infected to wolf with a paralytic effect. "Stupid meanies... You wanna hurt me? You'll regret hurting me!"

  5. Shlink!

    A familiar situation she was in. The same situation as with Snow. The wolf found it's way through her cloak and latched on to her leg. The girl had no time to react, even after finishing her attack. The wolf wouldn't let go and Assassin was looking like she was going to cry now. She tried to look tough in front of Ariel and now she feeling sick... No really, something was wrong. The girl punched the wolf on it's head, unfortunately worsening the wound, but the pain from her make shift attack forced it to let go.

    On the verge of tears, she hears Ariel's voice. She should have listened to her and attacked one of the other wolves. She backed up, looking ill, and ran as far as she could get away from the wolf, letting Ariel take the lead and get it's attention. Once she opened the vial, she chugged the potion. So much for saving the item for later.

    "I-I'm alright..." Her tone wasn't much of a pleasant one, the girl was still feeling sick, even after drinking what was supposed to fix the problem.

  6. The emerald eyes gazed upon Ariel's display of prowess. The health bars of all of the enemies except the strongest dropped to nearly nothing. Assassin's gaze dropped to something much more sinister and serious. When she fought with The Lioness against the treants, there was no danger with her around. However, Ariel wanted to see her when she was serious, so it was time to focus and fight like her life was on the line.

    You're strong. You can kill.

    A grinding of metal sounded from underneath her cloak. Holding it out in her reverse grip, Ariel could see this dagger was different from her original one. The blade was less fine and more serrated, looking as thought it was meant to aggravated deep cuts. "You've got the low ones. The stronger one looks more dangerous. I'll make sure it's an easier kill since I can't attack more than one target at a time."

    Before she even got a response from Ariel, the black blur lit her dagger with a new color - Purple instead of Red. Assassin was difficult to track since she had spent so much time learning to become quick. She flanked the other side of her enemy, making sure to split its attention between Ariel and her. The purple dagger she wielded jammed into the Snapper's skin, four precise strikes. The last lodged deeply into the feral wolf's skin. She twisted the blade and tore open the enemies side. The bleed effect appeared over its health bar. Assassin collected her blade and moved back, ready to find her next attack.

  7. Assassin inspected the vial offered by the man. It was something to drink in case they had become inflicted with poison or bleed, or a similar status effect. Although they could use it here, with the help of Ariel, she wasn't sure if she should even use it. If she didn't have to use it for the quest, she could save it later down the line for a more dangerous quest.

    "This'll be easy. I should save this item for later during a later quest. It would be better used then." The Assassin stuffed the item into her inventory and looked up to Ariel. "Alright, where do we have to go to beat up the meanies? Lead me to 'em and I'll deal with 'em real quick."

    The want to fight was less about the thrill of combat, but more about the feeling of becoming powerful. It was overwhelming to know that everything she was doing in this game was getting her closer and closer to being a force that no one could pick on.

    @Ariel - The Crowned Lion

  8. Working out combat with the aid of Ariel? Well, to be fair, if she got stronger and didn't know how to make use of her sword arts, how would she be able to implement them in combat? Ariel was right, she needed to take part in the combat and actually fight so she could get better at it. There may be times where she can't actually rely on others to help her fight and she would need to fight for herself.

    "Alright! I'll do my best Nee-chan!" The Assassin beamed with a smile. Fighting with someone who could protect her if things went sour would be nice. The free reign of not having to worry about death made it possible for one to learn care free. "I will show you how fast and precise a dagger user can be Aneki. No meanies can catch me!" The Assassin put her thumb to her chest and gave the other woman a cheeky grin.

  9. Assassin donned her cloak while Snow was changing into her usual tank attire. The armor underneath her cloak covered her entire body with black cure leather. Snow get to see it for the first time when she had to reattach the belt that held her three weapons back to her hip, where she then fastened the black rag into place. Deciding to let the tank take the lead, Assassin followed close by.

    "Next time, you get the bed." The girl put plainly, looking as though she wouldn't accept the bed as easily next time. Nevertheless, the duo returned the keys to the innkeeper and headed out onto the streets. "You're a really nice person, I don't think I really am that nice. I steal a lot, I have a hard time caring about others and Whenever there is something that needs to be killed, I lose myself, in the fight. I think that might be holding me back."

    The confession of stealing stemmed all the way back into the real world. She wondered if she could fix that about herself.

  10. Assassin followed behind her. There was another quest that the two could do together while they were on this floor, as Ariel had pointed out. Damage over time was a stat that she could use as well, but it made her attacks weaker.

    "We can do that one Nee-chan! It'll be super easy with you just beating up everything in your way! You're super strong!" The Assassin praised, doing her best to keep up with the Lioness's longer stride. Kimba had moved in front of them as was usual for the familiar. "I went up a lot of levels thanks to your help, I'm level 10 now! I can use stronger sword arts as well! Oh, and I'm close to unlocking even more of them!"

    This was getting better and better. Leaving the safe zones was such a foreign concept to her, but now she was feeling more and more invincible with every step she took out in the field.

  11. Kimba's lick to the face left Assassin smiling and led to more pets for the feline. The cub really enjoyed the presence of a person who would give the attention to her 24/7. The man she had greeted knelt down to her level. His strength surely out-leveled her own, just like with Ariel. They spoke like they already knew each other, so he could be just as strong as her, if not even stronger.

    Suggesting she go fine the kitchen, he mentioned a name that was familiar. Snow. She knew a Snow. Who was that? Someone she had previously met for sure. She was so bad with peoples names, that's why she defaulted to nicknames. While she was thinking about it, Kimba got ahead of her. Bounding towards the smell of rice. Assassin was left behind, running after her. "Kimba! Wait for me!" She called out running after the front liner's familiar as quick as she could. Running down the halls, making sure to take of her shoes on the tatami mat - the caretaker yelled at her enough for it to still scare her in the game - they followed the smell of cooking food until they reached the kitchen where Snow was. Assassin reeled back as she saw her.

    "T-Tank-Lady?!" Her voice screamed, somewhat in joy. "What are you doing here! I didn't expect to see you here!" The lion familiar was confused, but still it wanted what it wanted. Nudging Assassin's leg with it's head to remind her why they came. "O-Oh right. Can Kimba get something to eat? She's hungry." The Assassin asked nicely, petting Ariel's familiar over the head with her main hand.

    @Snow

  12. Ariel mentioned that she knew Assassin was trailing her the entire time. Why didn't the Lioness just tell her to leave? Did she mean for her to follow the entire time? Why? "O-Oh, so you did know... I thought I was being really sneaky too... You just let me follow you all the way up here?" She asked, remembering the man standing in front of the two of them. Instinctively, the Assassin had moved closer to Ariel, allowing her to place her hand on the child's head.

    "But that won't do, you need to properly introduce yourself. Go on, he won't bite." The girl looked him up and down. Trying to assess just how nice he might be, he seemed to have a stern look on his face towards Ariel, which made it hard to get some words out. She gave him a quick, sheepish wave with her free hand. The other still clung to Ariel's kimono.

    "O-Oh.. Sorry. Nice to meet you, Aneki calls me Sin-chan." Memories of the caretaker telling her to bow echoed through her mind, telling her to bow when she introduced herself. The Assassin reciprocated and nodded her head forward in a clumsy bow. It was at this time that Kimba returned to the girl's side, she clung to her instead so Ariel could go about her business, giving the cub some rubs behind her ears.

    Everyone here was dressed rather nicely so far, Kaya herself was starting to feel like a dumpster child in the rags that were her cloak. She opened up her menu and replaced her cloak with a much more modern attire. She didn't own a kimono, or even a yukata, except for in real life. Maybe it was about time that she actually got one now. Instead of the darker attire she was wearing before, she was now wearing a white sweater and a short pink skirt. No changes of attire or makeup would be able to hide the scars on her face, but maybe removing her roguish clothing would help her not look so much like a hooligan.

  13. Ariel was talking about someone who killed other players, if she could recall. Pink hair. She would have to remember to look out for someone like that so she doesn't get beat up by them or anything. The elven village was coming up through the trees ahead of them. "I know them a little better than you. I have been on quests with them before and they were both nice to me. I just have a hard time remembering names is all, so I just use nicknames to make it easier on myself. I'm still a low level player so I'm not very familiar with anyone who is actually spending time to level up just yet. I like both of them. Tank-lady is super nice and worries a lot about me, maybe a little too much. Shadow-lady is a little more mean but she still has a really nice side to. You're super nice too!"

    The duo walked into the village and had a short chat with the pointy eared people, before making their way out of the place. The gave Assassin a vial of some liquid that she didn't quite recognize. "Um... Shouldn't you take this?" She asked holding the vial of a potion up to the other woman. "You did all the work and if you want, I don't have anything else to do. Wanna do something fun, like another quest?"

  14. Assassin couldn't help her curiosity. The Lioness had told that there was something important that she needed to do and that she should go and do something while she waited for her to come back. The blank kimono the front liner wore was indication that she wasn't looking to fight anyone. Was she meeting a friend? The child wandered behind the girl, avoiding detection so far, or at least Ariel had made no recognition of her so far.

    A giant Japanese manor loomed in the distance. It came of as scary in size, but as they got closer, it became much more serene. As Ariel entered the courtyard, she left Kimba by the entrance. Assassin approached the opening to the manor, peaking around the corner followed by the lion cub. A man was there, facing down Ariel with a weird aura. It's was almost like he could start a fight with her then and there. Kimba, only wanting her loving attention from her new friend, rubbing her head against Assassin's head.

    "Kimba, stop" She gave the lion cub a nudge, and realized that she said that out loud for everyone to hear. When she saw Ariel's eyes travel over to her direction, she hid back over the corner. Admitting that she had been spotted, the girl came out with Kimba and her tail between her legs. She walked over to Ariel. "S-Sorry, I followed you. Did you know?"

    The young girl looked up at the massive man that was Shield, shifting closer to the Lioness, the Assassin waved at him, clinging to Ariel's kimono. "H-Hi."

  15. Assassin inspected the Crowned Lion pure skinned hand reaching out to her. The feeling she was getting was foreign. Ariel's gesture was hesitantly accepted. The girl's hand wrapped around the others. A weird feeling.

    "Um...Y-Yeah." It was clear that there was some awkwardness in the hand holding but, she could get over it. The attention was nice at least. Turning to Kimba and gesturing her to come along, the three of them made haste to the elven village. Kimba led the way as usual for Ariel. "I can be strong, but maybe not as strong as you. My little weapon doesn't do a whole lot of damage. I need to get better."

    "Don't you have friends you could adventure with?" The Lioness asked. Assassin stopped to think. It was difficult to remember the names of people she met, good thing she uses nicknames for people.

    "Um, there's tank-lady and shadow-lady, and the other lady from the first floor I met. I can't remember her name." Assassin puts plainly.

  16. Now that the two were finished eating Assassin move up off the bed and walked over to the table, collecting her bouquet of knives and de-materializing them into her inventory. The one that she needed was still hidden underneath her shirt in case she would need it for any surprise attacks while they wandered. People couldn't get hurt in a safe zone, but Assassin was starting to question her safety since she started leaving them. Always having something to protect her readily available was nice.

    "Its not any better to force you into a wooden chair just because I'm younger. Its a matter of looking everyone in their eyes. We're all people, and while some think that they can make others their toys and play with them, its not fair of me to treat you like you aren't living." How hypocritical of her to say. She had played her like a toy when it was convenient for her and now she was feeling all upset about it. "I've done bad things since my time in this world began. I don't think I deserve to be treated with such kindness just because my heart and brain a handful of years younger than yours. I'll continue to follow you on a quest, I don't have anything else to do, but... I don't want to be treated like a baby, please..."

    Assassin hid her face by turning to the side. The white locks covered her reddened cheeks. Everything she just spouted sounded so hypocritical. She was a child and didn't understand anything about this world. She constantly deceived others for her own benefit, treating them like they're not equals or human at all. Why were her opinions changing so rapidly? Is this what it was like to have an epiphany about your life style? Seeing it this way, she didn't want to hurt Snow's feelings, but she also didn't know what to do if she couldn't use her age as a crutch to trick people into liking and helping her.

    @Snow

  17. Assassin watched in awe of the Lioness's prowess. Ariel was an unstoppable force compared to herself. It was difficult to even comprehend how much more powerful the blonde was to the rogue. She was really glad that Ariel hadn't gotten mad at her for plowing directly into Kimba, and that Kimba was nice.

    "Whoa! That guy looked like he could-a squashed me and you took him down without a problem! You're amazing Nee-chan!" The Assassin cheered happily, looking at the remnants of the data that made up the remains of the Treant King. The colors faded quickly and were gone as soon as they were there. The child's emerald eyes returned to meet the Lioness's, a smile on her face. "I wish I could be as strong as you. I need to keep getting stronger so I can protect myself and next time I can help you fight better!"

    The Assassin returned to petting Kimba, who was still enjoying the amount of attention the preteen was giving her. The girls hands carressed the lion cub's ear, getting more purring out of the feline.

    @Ariel - The Crowned Lion

  18. Assassin crawled up to her feet and did her best to get her weapon out ready to fight. Her knife lit up with a dangerous aura for a moment before it slowly faded off. If she attacked the bear now, it would start to target her and she wouldn't last very long before getting trampled by that thing. Helping Hidden fight was desirable, just not reasonable. Fighting her urge to jump on the bear, the Assassin moved back away from the fight a bit so that Hidden could take control before she tried to do anything helpful.

    "I-I'm not scare, but it'll hurt me really badly if I try to help you with fighting. Once it focuses more on you I'll help... Oh, but you'll probably kill it before then wont you?" The pain of not being able to help was killing her. "Y-You can do it Nee-san, beat up that meanie a bunch!"

  19. The girl quietly grunted when she landed in Ariel's arms. "Oof, thanks." She smiled putting her feet back on the ground and stretching out her skinny legs. When she was finished, she moved over to Kimba and pet him eagerly. The little lion cub purred happily to its attention that the child was giving it.

    "Was that all of them? We took out so many of the meanies and bullies. But the quest hasn't finished ye-" She was interrupted by yet another tree taking life around them. It stood up, a giant dwarfing it's bark brothers in height and size. "You arrogant children, how dare you treat my kin as such. You shall pay dearly!"

    "Whoa! He's a big one! You can beat 'em up though, Aneki! Hit 'em hard!" The Assassin was more energetic than normal but she was still somewhat scared, hiding behind her makeshift sister. She clung lightly to the Crowned Lion's garbs, peaking through the side look on the battle.

  20. The Assassin smiled as the other girl's hand met her head rubbing her hair softly. As much as it made her feel like a puppy, that didn't seem all that bad... did it? "I-I'm sorry. I won't waste your time, I promise. I'll keep up and do exactly as you say."

    The Assassin sped herself up to keep up with Hidden's stride. The emerald irises looked up to the opposing eyes, showing the trust of her companion. The rogue duo walked through forest looking for the Kumatetsu. When they approached the den it lived in, it was surprisingly empty. The bear was sneaking up behind them, and Assassin noticed first, its claw raised to attack Hidden with a surprise attack. The Assassin reacted without thinking, shoving her shoulder into the Kuma's head and throwing the attack off. The bear got pissed quickly and swiped at Assassin who fell on to her back just to dodge it's fierce claw. "L-Leave us alone, or Shadow-lady will beat you up!"

  21. "Nee-chan? Like big sister? I don't have any siblings, so that would be kind of weird, but alright, if that's what you prefer." The Assassin's seemed a little more serious now that she was in combat. Looks like she took it much more seriously when she got into it. Noticing that the big tree was still alive, she moved behind it quickly, creating a flanking angle between the two of them and climbing on the treant's back.

    "You survived Aneki's attack! You should feel so lucky, but you wont last against the next one you overgrown bush!" The girl taunted, lighting up her her sword art again, the scarlet color of red cloaking her weapon. "Now that your friends are gone, its time for you to go as well! You can't beat us both!"

    The blood red dagger dug deep as possible into the bark of the tree. The kid slid down on its back, tearing the bark open as she clawed down it's back. "Take that meanie!"

  22. Assassin ducked underneath the blade, hiding behind the cub lion as Ariel completely wiped out all of the giant trees in a single attack. She was completely awestruck by the effectiveness that Ariel was able to output. "Whoa! That was amazing lion-lady! I would never be able to do anything like that with a little dagger!" The girl praised the front liner. Could she be as strong as that one day?

    The feeling of rumbling shook the ground around them as three more approached them. The Assassin drew her dagger and readied herself for some combat. She activated a sword art, her tiny weapon glowed crimson red like blood. The bounding speed of Assassin wasn't much more than a blur. The girl dug her dagger into the biggest of all of the giant trees. "Hey, meanies! Leave us alone!"

    That probably wasn't her best idea, as the biggest one was looking at her now and ready to smash her into nothing.

  23. The girl was searching through her menus while Hidden talked, paying attention even though she was occupied. She was mapping out he next skill to buy after she maxed out her dagger-.

    "Let's get going. This 'meanie' is going to be harder to beat. Unless you are interested in dying I would stay behind me. I'll leave you behind if you lag back." The girl closed her menu and rushed after the cloaked figure. "I- I'm here! Don't leave me behind please!" The young girl clung to her leaders leg, afraid that she might actually leave her behind if she did lag behind. Once she settled down, she let go of Hidden's leg and pondered something.

    "H-Hey, Hidden... Do people really not like you that much? You keep saying that I don't want to be hanging around you, but I do. That... That pet on my head made me really happy." The girl smiled with a soft blush on her face. "Are people mean to you?"

    @Hidden

  24. The two arrived at the blacksmith's shop and moved the items from their inventory to him. He then asks them a favor to collect some needed tusks from some low level boars. When they were off to their next quest, the Assassin looked up at her and smiled to Xin. "Tank-Lady is nice. She beat up a meany wolf that bit me in the leg and protected me from a bit bee that wanted to sting me. You helped me to get this quest done, so I'm glad we met. Thank you a lot for the help."

    Assassin crossed her arms and smiled up to Xin. She was a useful friend if she was going to be nice to her. The small frame really helped get people on your side, not that she was meaning to be malicious with Xin or anything. It was just a nice bonus, until they started trying to pamper you because you were nothing but a child to them. She might be young, but she wasn't a complete idiot or anything. She hoped people could see that.

  25. The Assassin recoiled slightly as Ariel reached down and grabbed her shoulder then started stroking her hair. Her face flushed red momentarily, but she didn't refuse it. "Nuh- S-Sin-Chan? Who is Sin-Chan? M-Me?" The girl pointed to herself. "I- uh, I mean... the meanies are all around the outside areas. They attack you if you get to close and they try hurt me..."

    Almost on queue, one of the treeants moved from it's stationary position, annoyed by the girls mumbling. "You two should not have come here," it's voice boomed. The sound awakened the other three that were now surrounding the two players and the lion cub. Assassin's expression got serious but scared at the same time. "Oh... That's a lot of meanies! Leave us alone!" She called out, backing behind Kimba. She had never seen this many of them at once. Usually she only fought them one on one. "They're not going to let me run, are they..."
