Was it a poor plan? Probably. Did it have a chance of being extremely cool if it worked? Absolutely. The blow back afterward though, was definitely not what Wulfrin had in mind. Belregore crashed to the ground letting loose a massive shockwave on impact with the sandy beach. Wulfrin, having made the extremely rash decision to remain in attack range and attempt to stab the flying dragoon. Wulfrin's health bar rapidly depleted, falling just above the half way point. The familiar buff of his sand armor potion absorbing most of the blow. Now he was defenseless. If that attack activated gain, he'd be risking far more that he would feel comfortable with, but if it meant putting an end to this drawn out fight, he'd gladly take the chance.

Wulfrin got to his feet, hp bar surging to life with the help of his teammates. Between Hirru's potent healing arts and the combined mass heal crystals spread throughout the party, including his own, Wulfrin was ready to continue the fight. His eyes focused on Belregor's status bar. He watched as a new bar appeared bellow his health, almost like a player's energy. It depleted with each hit and with each full depletion the reverberation form whatever aura Belregor had that dealt them damage when attacking seemed to lessen. With a whistle Solaris soared into action clawing and rending the shadow knight's form and causing significant damage to the remaining bar. Wulfrin's grip tightened as he rushed the knight in unison, his blade arcing with cerulean lightning. The impact caused a small amount of damage back to Wulfrin, but the last of his foe's aura had been eradicated.

"Shield Down! We gotta keep the shatter up on his armor! Baldur can you handle it?"

"I'm on it!" Baldur called out as he immediately followed up Wulfrin's with a swift attack of his own, the katana Zanshin striking as if it cut open the sky and revealed the stars and nebula hidden by the rainy clouds. As his blow landed, cracks once again appeared on the boss, saving the stack of debuffs they had worked to apply.

"Got it!" He called out with relief, before cracking open a healing crystal, though only he and Wulfrin were still hurt. 

"Way to go everyone, back up to full!"

He turned his keen eyes back to the boss, willing the HP bar to go lower.

"We've almost got him!" The gaijin samurai prayed it would be enough.

The blade called forth from the sands was soon swept up in his hands. Belregor shifted his aerial stance, as the weapon in his hand morphed to take itself apart once more. Pieces of its edge tear away from the core of its metal, stretching, reaching with an impossible growth. Its owner, uncaring, lunged forth, diving against the sole defiant from its strike prior, wheeling its body mid-flight to angle itself feetfirst at the moment of impact. 

His landing throws sand, gravel and ash into the atmosphere. Belregor was cloaked in a thick, impenetrable cloud. Shapeless, only a shadow of his figure was visible from the outside, against the dying light.

From the side, it was his weapon that broke through the cloud, cutting through the fog in broken shreds, only tethered together by tendrils and sinew black, coiled through the center of its fragments. Like a chain, it extended right in serrated, horizontal segments down its link, tearing through a team of players, each incisor finding a host marked before they bended through reality and rip through their virtual forms. Out, it spun across the battlefield in a wide arc. 

No further victims were found. Again, the curtains fell for Belregor, tendrils of flame still rumbling through his armament, iris burning red, as his fingers wrapped around the grip of his sword, his blade reforging itself anew.

There it was.  He was wondering when one of these attacks would come about, but as it came, it felt at odds with what he thought would happen.  The swinging chain attack would slice and slash through them all.  As they did, their health would only dwindle a little, but that was only a tickle compared to what happened after.  The shattering effects of the weapon would splash over them all.  Hirru could see the effects of burn, blight, frostbite, and bleed as each hit would ring out.  There wasn't much time to act and Hirru would have to be reminded of who among them had an antidote ready for use.

As his antidote would kick in, the hunter would look to see who had not had that effect kick in.  Nearly everyone had their antidotes kick in at roughly the same amount of time between their own damage taken to when it proceeded to engage.  The only one that did not was Mari, so as the last of the light rings would end upon her, so too would another ring fall upon her head.  A dazzling light would sprinkle over her before all of the damaging effects would fall off, as if they were bled from her very body.

"That should do us.  I'm starting to run low on mass heals, if this keeps going like this."

So much was going on, Macradon was slowly losing sight of what went by. His mind was struggling to keep up. “This isn’t like the good ol’ days where I could just hit things until it exploded …” he muttered to himself as he was hit with a slew of status conditions that ticked away with his antidote doing its job to keep him healthy. He looked up at the remaining blight and shunned it “What even is Blight …”

He adjusted himself and went into his usual aerial stance, mirroring the dark warrior’s posture. A knight clad in shadows, like his mentor. “Ssendom didn’t die for this … he didn’t die for anything …” he chortled to himself and went straight in for another specialised attack, this time trying to goad out a movement to take care of that pesky crystal aura covering the boss, but despite his best efforts, he didn’t get close enough to even execute a sword art.

The deceptively flat ground was indeed not entirely flat. The wet surface made small imperfections imperceptive, making him stumble over some half loose rubble and fall down into the water. His quick wit and reflexes would spread his body out to lessen the impact, but the splash could be seen by everyone in the vicinity.

He got flashbacks to his happening at Baldur’s onsen, this time without the Macradon-shaped hole.

Wulfrin's blade charged to life with the icy blue of his massive sword art, Wulfrin's eyes shifted to an icy blue on black sclera as he charged at Belregor. Several slashed arced across the phantom knight's body, blow after blow caused a larger and larger chunk of Belregor's HP to vanish. The Frontlines was losing steam fast, Wulfrin was even starting to feel it himself. This battle was quickly turning into a war of attrition. Wulfrin had come prepped to deal as much damage as possible as fast as possible. Belregor had put several breaks in that plan, as he had several countermeasures to a full frontal assault. Wulfrin felt the recoil surge through his body as whatever wards Belregor had up continued to reflect damage back to his attacker. They had to end this fast or the raid could crumble before them. Wulfrin continued to scan the arena, doing his best to keep tabs on all his allies in the raid.

"Ah... Thanks Hirru." Mari said as she glanced down at her hand, watching as her body was bathed in a soothing light, it honestly felt like someone just dumped a bucket of liquid aloe vera on her. It felt soothing, refreshing almost. And it helped remove all the negative effects she had.

Mari had to step to the side as Macradon missed; causing him to loose his step and his grip. 

They all had managed to dodge last round at least; and a glance at the team she was slotted into showed that most everyone was doing well enough. No ones health had dipped into the red at least. 

Mari clenched her jaw and spun her halberd round, feet kicking off the burnt ground as she ran forward, sword art flickering into existence she managed to lower her body and swing the blade up into the gap between chest and neck - the type of attack that would normally behead any other foe. The one that had beheaded countless NPC guards before - A nasty red line appeared in her weapons wake as she used the momentum to turn a full 360 degrees so she was able to retreat quickly. 

"Think  I did some damage on that one." Mari said as she jutted her thumb back toward Belregor.

Ciela tilted her head, smirk spreading like wildfire across her lips as Belregor’s blade came down harder, faster, angrier than before. “Ohhh, that got you to hurt me, huh? Don’t like being emasculated, do ya champ?” Her tone was razor sharp, teasing, each word dipped in venom and mockery. She laughed, low and cruel, letting it ring out just to get under his armored skin. “Too damn bad. All you’re doing is proving my point. I'm packing more than you are.” She stared at him with the confidence of someone who already knew they weren't winning this fight unless she kept his attention, but as long as her words were sharp enough to cut deeper than his blade ever could they had it in the bag. “Seems like someone’s compensating,” she sang in a mockingly sweet, sing-songy voice, her eyes glinting with mischief. At this point, Ciela embraced her role fully, the spiky chew toy, the bait meant to be gnawed on, the distraction that was relentless. “C’mon, Belregor,” she taunted, slamming her shield into the dirt with a ringing clang. “What’s the matter? Scared to hurt a girl? Or is it just me you’re scared of?” She smirked wickedly, every jab meant to needle him further, giving her allies the edge they needed while she fed him nothing but mockery and defiance.

Baldur picked himself up from the ground. He had thought he had hit the boss, but at the last moment something caught him off guard. The bosses weapon shifted strangely and blew them all back, hurting them and applying a bevvy of dot damage attacks. Thankfully his antidote protected him from the worst of it. It had been a very long time since it had actually done anything for him.

"I'm up!" Healing magic quickly started to wash over them, and Baldur pulled out a healing crystal that he thought he had already used, but crushed it now and saw the healing magic wash over them, topping several of them off.

"We're nearing the end everyone! We've got this! We just need to press the attack a little more, and we'll bring him down the last. It's time to push!"

Standing up once more, Baldur assumed the stance for his sword art, feeling the thrum of energy as he launched himself at the boss once more, his sword art begging to reestablish the stacks of shatter that had been lost. They just needed to push through one more. This bleak floor would be behind them. Maybe the next floor wouldn't be all sunshine, rainbows, and candy canes, but it almost anything would be better than this. Well, anything other than another swamp floor. Even a peanut butter swamp would be better than another one of those. Just anything to get out of this rain.

"Don't worry Hirru, I have plenty of crystals if you need more." He always brought more than enough for everyone, and he had more than the time remaining on this fight would allow him to use.

A barrage of attacks ravaged the black knight. Flashes of lights in an array of colors swarmed around Belregor, Guardian of the Sword until his final health bar depleted. The bars vanished and yet the knight remained. A surge of new life surged throughout Belregor, a dark aura flared around the raid party restricting vision with the last thing to vanish bein the piercing red robs behind Belregor's helmet visor. The knight, cloaked in shadow, moved across the battlefield. The shattered sword vanished as another sword flew from the sea into his armored gauntlet. Three rapid strikes lashed out towards his three primary targets. The fiery knightess, whose insults lashed like razors, simply stood her ground as his blade struck armor, a recoil of damage surging through his form. The pink haired paladin, who he had failed too many times to strike, receives a powerful blow that seemed to pierce through the impenetrable defenses they carried with ease. Then there was that violinist. He was a fast one, and despite Belregor's best efforts, managed to evade his strike.

A wild roar, like that of a cornered predator echoed across the beachfront as Belregor leapt into the air, leaving his veil of darkness behind. The shadowed knight hovered in the air, ready to deliver yet another massive area wide strike, leaving only two options for his ferocious adversaries: Flee or Die.

Belregor's Health Bars vanished as the last one emptied. A familiar burst of shadow engulfed their current battlefield. As with all previous activations, Wulfrin activated his Crystal of Divine Light, its divine radiance removing the shadowy veil that prevented him from locking on. Belregor leapt into the air, charging a familiar area of effect attack. He had no protections this time, but with Belregor basically on the run, he had to keep the pressure up. Wulfrin's blade errupted with an emerald light as Wulfrin followed Belregor into the air. Blades clashed in an arial deadlock. As Wulfrin's sword art came to a close, he landed gracefully on the ground directly in Belregor's line of fire. He was being reckless at this point, the last attack belregor had launched from this position chewed through his HP, even with the boost from his Sand Armor potion. This would be his last attack, likely for a while, and still when he needed it most, fell short of doing what he was meant to do.

"Damn," He cursed under his breath. "Why can't get my Freeze to stick?"
