[BR-F29] Paving the Way to Floor 30 [Team 2: Yuki]

The blade called forth from the sands was soon swept up in his hands. Belregor shifted his aerial stance, as the weapon in his hand morphed to take itself apart once more. Pieces of its edge tear away from the core of its metal, stretching, reaching with an impossible growth. Its owner, uncaring, lunged forth, diving against the sole defiant from its strike prior, wheeling its body mid-flight to angle itself feetfirst at the moment of impact. 

His landing throws sand, gravel and ash into the atmosphere. Belregor was cloaked in a thick, impenetrable cloud. Shapeless, only a shadow of his figure was visible from the outside, against the dying light.

From the side, it was his weapon that broke through the cloud, cutting through the fog in broken shreds, only tethered together by tendrils and sinew black, coiled through the center of its fragments. Like a chain, it extended right in serrated, horizontal segments down its link, tearing through a team of players, each incisor finding a host marked before they bended through reality and rip through their virtual forms. Out, it spun across the battlefield in a wide arc. 

No further victims were found. Again, the curtains fell for Belregor, tendrils of flame still rumbling through his armament, iris burning red, as his fingers wrapped around the grip of his sword, his blade reforging itself anew.

"Where were you hiding all that pocket sand?"

Crozeph naturally was cracking the lamest jokes if there ever was a compilation of it. Not a coping mechanism, not a part of personality, just a poor attempt to taunt the enemy.

He shifted his body, just behind his wife and took a weird form. He sucked at battojutsu but that doesn't mean he can't tweak an effective version of it. 

The enemy used darkness, Crozeph was molded by it

It may end on a stalemate but everything is worth trying if there's an enemy in front of them. Yuki may be resilient but that could mean less if they didn't have a good chunk of offense ready.

 Blade unsheathe, darkness also poured out, a quick draw in a most awkward way, yet executed with prejudice. Truly one of the katana users in Aincrad.

Crozeph landed a clean strike but only Kayaba knows where it went.  Pramanix didn't waste time and jumped out of Crozeph's coat, where she did, well Kayaba only knows. The rending skill came in handy and hopefully it can be of good use for more. A slight greediness but victory starts with hunger for more of it.

Lag spike. Of course. It always happened in the middle of the boss raid. Flickers of static across his vision, frozen in place. It would be the death of him one of these days. But that wouldn't be today. Quickly recovering from the intermission, he flung his sword at Belregor once more. And once more he found it careening off of that black barrier in a shower of sparks and flying back in his direction. At least, it didn't make a unicorn horn this time. His blade sank into his leg. With a soft grunt, Oscar wrenched the blade free. When was this fight going to be over? It seemed as if it was lasting an eternity and Oscar didn't know how many more times he was willing to take his own sword to the face without just up and rage quitting. Wouldn't that be a sight? He decided to stare at a blade of grass instead. Why was that here? On a beach?

[Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0]

Sand boiled around them, turning the shoreline into a lung full of grit. The chain-blade hissed through the cloud in serrated segments—tendrils and teeth testing for panic. Ariel watched the pattern—counted the rhythm as links sought purchase and found it elsewhere. When the weapon recoiled and Belregor’s silhouette thickened back into a single mass, she moved.

No flourish. A narrow angle cut through the murk, kimono hem skimming wet grit. Left foot seals, right foot glides; the draw lives in the interval between heartbeats. Her technique unfolded cleanly—first stroke low across the seam his reintegrating plates hadn’t finished sealing, second rising through the sternum line. Her weapon took the hint. It woke with a steady, black heat, shadowflame curling along the obsidian like ink catching fire. The hit landed—efficient, unromantic—burn biting into metal, code, whatever passed for flesh beneath.

The echo hit back.

Same as before; a returning shiver that slid along her edge and bit the hand that wielded it. Her HP ticked down in a clean red blink. She let it pass through stance instead of bracing—exhale, settle, accept. The cloak answered with a sharp pulse at the collarbones; the inverted V on her back pricked her skin and then faded, risky status banking inside her frame like a held breath. Future strikes would cut deeper. Fine with me.

She finished the arc and slipped past his guard, shoulder brushing the heat of his violet wings as they guttered against the rain. The sword hummed in her grip, shadowflame holding steady now—no frenzy, just a controlled burn.

“Better,” she said, voice dry as salt. “Stick around.”

She reset her scabbard with a soft click, eyes on the micro-stutters where his armor reknit. The next opening was already drawing itself behind her ribs, quiet as the breath before a blade.

The paladain covered her eyes from the up-tide of sand and wind that threatened to blind her. Up to this point, Belregor had failed to hit her more times than he's hit her. How much damage had she missed out on because the boss sucked too much to actually land an attack? "Come on now, you can't be serious!" Tendrils of threat tore through the other tanks but she was left untouched from the destruction. "You're supposed to hit ME!"

The anger in Yuki's voice was new even to her husband. It wasn't often that the pink paladin lost her temper but when her thorns found no results she couldn't hold it back any further. "I'll make you fear me if that's what it takes! Eat this!"

Her spear pierced through the darkness an left another red light among the blackness, this time not from his weapon. Not more than a few feet from him Yuki stomped the sand around her into a curtain of particles as she readied for something serious. "HEY, IDIOT! I'M RIGHT HERE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!"

Just as the darkness left the arena and gifted him with sight, sand was kicked up in its stead. Ryo's feet dug into sand as he ran across the field. His last action wasn't a serious attack, but a test. A prod here, a poke there. Revealing little chinks in the armor, small gaps, areas he could exploit. He smirked. "Got you." He said, still running. He laid his eyes on a small spot, but would need a suitable distraction. Yelling, nearly cursing tore through the gale of its movement. That would do nicely. Ryo slid on his feet, his boots digging into the soft earth as he watched the boss jerk suddenly and move. His katana clicked as he drew it a small amount from it's scabbard. "Ittōryū-" He began as his blade began to shine bright purple as the sword art activated. Ryo leapt into the air, his momentum carrying a sizable way. His blade fully drew out, a loud clang followed as his blade met a small piece of metal between two plates. "Great Dragon Shock!" The flames from the boss danced around him and licked at him. Ryo winced, but he had faced worse before. He pressed on further his blade sparking against armor, begging his arms to be able to cut through. And soon enough, he did. A light of purple energy sliced through the boss the light dissipating as it reached the sand. Ryo watched as the enemy health bar moved. Slightly, but enough to keep him happy.

He landed onto the ground, rolling to keep his momentum and prevent himself from rolling his ankles. "Bastard's tough. But we're tougher." He said, putting both hands on his katana. Now that that spot was taken care of, another spot would open up soon enough for him. Just to bide his time, and wait for the time to strike.

Violet let out a grunt of exertion as the effects of Press rapidly began to fade, the radiant light that spewed from her hands faltering before sputtering out as the rest of her team got in their swings. They were in the home stretch, and the boss was almost down on its last legs. For once, she didn't see the other members of the raid looking exhausted or weary, if anything they looked pumped and ready to push to the finale.

She snapped her weapon shut, putting it away as she looked over her teammates. Nobody seemed to be in dire need of healing, everyone was still in the green and ready to keep fighting their way through. She was a bit worried about Ryo, especially since he was coming into a raid with less than 900 HP. But, as long as they kept everyone topped off things would be okay.

A barrage of attacks ravaged the black knight. Flashes of lights in an array of colors swarmed around Belregor, Guardian of the Sword until his final health bar depleted. The bars vanished and yet the knight remained. A surge of new life surged throughout Belregor, a dark aura flared around the raid party restricting vision with the last thing to vanish bein the piercing red robs behind Belregor's helmet visor. The knight, cloaked in shadow, moved across the battlefield. The shattered sword vanished as another sword flew from the sea into his armored gauntlet. Three rapid strikes lashed out towards his three primary targets. The fiery knightess, whose insults lashed like razors, simply stood her ground as his blade struck armor, a recoil of damage surging through his form. The pink haired paladin, who he had failed too many times to strike, receives a powerful blow that seemed to pierce through the impenetrable defenses they carried with ease. Then there was that violinist. He was a fast one, and despite Belregor's best efforts, managed to evade his strike.

A wild roar, like that of a cornered predator echoed across the beachfront as Belregor leapt into the air, leaving his veil of darkness behind. The shadowed knight hovered in the air, ready to deliver yet another massive area wide strike, leaving only two options for his ferocious adversaries: Flee or Die.

Endless Eternal | Until the sword is returned to its pedestal, Belregor cannot be slain. Whenever Belregor would be slain, he will instead recover an unknown amount of hit points as his fleeting existence causes his bars to vanish and immediately use Veil of Treachery without needing to make a roll. This occurs each time he would be slain.
