Bael's boots crunched through the tall grass, still damp with morning dew. Each step left a faint shimmer of light as the system registered his movement. The air here was different, less the metallic tang of blood, more the sweetness of open fields. The memory of his last kill flickered through his vision, a soft ding echoing somewhere in his HUD before he dismissed it. The boars had scattered long ago, their squeals fading into the trees, leaving the field eerily quiet. He slung his greataxe over his shoulder, its edge still humming faintly from the kill. His gaze drifted lazily across t

With her prep work in her office done, off Sin popped to Richard's shop. He was an ostentatious man. But clearly an expert. Smug, but that sort of air was deserved. Especially when Sin saw the opulent works that Richard had on display in his shop. But she had half expected a woman. Who knew that all of the crafting tutors in Aincrad were men? At least so far, this was such a fucking sausage party. “Hello!” Richard exclaimed. Sin snapped her fingers, jokingly firing off finger guns in the tutor's direction. “Five materials, come back and craft, and then I'm a Tailor?” Richa -
Today had been met with more productivity than Sin had managed to pull off in weeks. She had, by and large, surpassed the goal she had set for herself. Where she was once faced with the mountain of col standing in between her and Rank 5 Appraiser, she was now spoiled for choice. She took a detour, to the back rooms of the Blackbook. Looking around her office, she wondered what would count as a forge. Her first thought was a microwave. But that was more of a cook thing. And then it hit her. Opening her menu, she followed Oscar’s instructions toward making renovations to her office. Along t

Back at the forge, Sin delivered the materials to Callum. “That was quick,” the young blacksmith said. “You barely left!” “I like to be efficient,” Sin replied. “So how do I do thiis?” Rhetorical question. Just like with Artisan, another Profession was added to her crafting menu the moment she turned in the materials. She tapped the Blacksmithing tab and pressed the button to initiate the craft. Rather than go through the motions of pounding steel and heating metal, she just let the system do its own thing. It worked only because she was standing at what the game considered to b -

The distance between the main gate and the first pack of lootable mobs was barely the size of a football field. Learning her lesson from her last Quest, Sin took great pains to make sure that the arrangement and her angle of attack was just so. It took a bit of waiting. Well, a lot of waiting, really. But eventually, the mobs managed to clump up in such away that the arc of her Sword Art would tag each one of them. At least, if they didn't move last second. She dashed out of the bushes. As she entered their aggro radius, the mobs all turned directly towards her. It would have been intimid -

Sin found herself entirely unimpressed by the doe-eyed Blacksmith working the forge in front of her. Until now, every NPC that she had come across had looked the part of an expert in their field. Even Drax, creep-ass old dude that he was. But this guy - Callum - didn't even have calluses on his hands. And unless NPCs in this game had a baller-ass moisturizing routine, she doubted that he would be much help in the grand scheme. Not like she needed it. Sin wasn't exactly one to go through the ritual of crafting - unlike some tall, dark and handsomes she knew. “Hey, uh. You looking to become -
Artisan had been easy. At least setting up the work space in her office had been. But a whole-ass forge? Sin would need to get creative. But that was a problem for the future. For now, she needed to unlock the damned profession. And if it was anything like the last time, it would be a quick hop skip and jump. Talk to person, go gather materials, come back, craft. Easier than she was, really. And so she did just that, helping herself to an item from the Guild Vault as she did. Perk of being Visionary's Treasurer. She had pretty much carte blanche free reign over the items in storage. She w
