"I see." His quiet acknowledgement caused Mari to look at him again. His tone shifted. Mari didn’t quite understand why. He spoke about how she had her entire life to atone for her sins. How he, nor her friends could absolve them. She had a lot to make right. Suddenly…there was something in the way he said those words. Mari’s eyes flashed with a type of realization, then concern that quirked her lips downward. Was he? Mari couldn’t be sure. And would never, ever dare mention it. For a parent, it was almost taboo, too dangerous. Too painful. "If that was your past, then make sure it

[PP - 08] Bark Side of the Moon <<Elvish Conflict>>
Bliss replied to Bliss's topic in Beginner Floors
Bliss only glanced away for a second, just one second, and when she looked back, the tall, blonde man had vanished like a ghost. She blinked in disbelief, scanning the area as if he'd somehow melted into the crowd. “W-What the…” she mumbled softly, peeking behind the NPC she’d originally been talking to. With a shrug and a confused expression, she accepted the quest and took a small breath. Welp, that was weird. Then, a familiar voice cut through the ambient hum of the forest town. She hadn’t actually spoken to him before, but she remembered his voice echoing across the beach on Floor 24. - Today

"Maybe I should thank whoever holds your rule and order, your boss, your big cheese, whoever it is." Lancaster.... The name raced through his head immediately, if even a word of this reached the ₣₳₵ɆⱠɆ₴₴ ⱠØⱤĐ then the mans head would be on a platter. It could even be Hayate who would be the one to provide it. Messy, like Opal was. A space still not filled, and the thought of having another probable psycho take the seat didn't exactly encourage him to mention it. "I see." The man would offer quizzically, knowing full well that the blade was likely no longer necessary. Her spirit was crushe

Mari, damp and annoyed approached the tiny little fishing hut. Clearly unimpressed and frustrated. Never in her life had she experienced such issues with fishing before. No doubt it had something to do with the NPC; he had such a punch-able face the woman was tempted to clock him so had that he'd fall down into the water. Let him fish for his own damn gleaming scales. As she drew closer he started to clap his hands in a booming and resounding sound of congratulatory joy. "I knew you could do it!" He approached and smacked Mari hard on the back, then offered her a sly wink. Mari recoile -
"You have a tendency of getting swept up." "Ah..." She couldn't fault him there. "You're...not wrong." She admitted with a long and deep breath. So many people had told her she had a tendency to do that. Even now, she still had. Standing here in front of the man was proof of that. So she couldn't say she was exactly better at that. But she was better at controlling her emotions. "I can't even say I've gotten better at that - hell..." She said, repeating her inner thoughts. "Standing before you is proof of that. But-" Her eyes kept to his. Steely cerulean filled with a strong conviction sh

Once again, Freyds ears must have been burning. The man sent her another message. Was this what it was like for normal people to use the messaging system? A simple back and forth between friends? It was weird…Mari normally hated writing them, she never bothered with subject titles. She kept them as short as possible but here she was…casually and consistently messaging a friend. how nice. Stop passing out and triggering crisis mode, and I will gladly amble up through the window instead. Just let me know when. I'll be there. Oof, called out. To be fair, since he took the gemini -

Right…another inner reflection to kill time…what else had happened recently… Vitreous… a terribly dangerous man. Oh but he was so very interesting. Truth be told…if she hadn’t had a long talk with Freyd she’d probably attempt to contact the man more often - but some hard much needed truths gave her the realisation that nothing good would come of being in constant communication with someone who just yanno, casually crafts pathogenic plagues. It was a good thing Mari threw that vial into the acidic river. Surely by now it would have disintegrated into nothing. Even if Mari didn’t see the p -

Mari replied to Mari's topic in Beginner Floors
Mari sighed. Great. She replied to him….now what? Continue to think about things since she escaped prison? She supposed that was a good idea….not much else to do right now. Baldur and Macardon…they were the two people she had seen again once released. At the time Mari was so very happy and relieved, but after the elation settled she couldn’t shake the feeling something felt off. Jacobs Ladder felt off. Was it because she had spent such a long time trying to find Shield, Beat, and Oikawa? They were gone. The Ladder was now filled with new people. Some she knew, some she didn’t. Some she conside -

“Speak of the devil…” Mari breathed as she received yet another message. This time from Freyd. A small warm smile rose to her lips which only grew wider when she saw his response. I would love to see your new home. I’m glad you felt it time to renew it. Normally Mari was not one to use her messenger so much, normally she’d leave the message at that - and wait till they inevitably ran into each other again. But, she had nothing better to do right now so with a flick of her finger she opened up the messaging system, and with a little bit of effort, as she was still lying -

Mari sighed as she leaned back on the rock- using her folded arms as a cushion. Her eyes watering slightly as the filtered sun danced against her skin through the waving canopy of trees above. She supposed…waiting like this wasn’t all bad…it could potentially give her a chance to reflect on recent events. So much stuff had happened since she was released from jail, a rekindling of friendship with Freyd. Something unexpected. Things had always been so terse with him in the past, and now…now… He was one of the people she was closest to. She couldn’t imagine her life without him. A part of h -

Mari was tempted to message Freyd again - mostly because she was incredibly bored. Having to wait for the NPC to be around at a specific time was like absolute torture in these quests…its why Mari hated them so much. You could finish up your tasks quickly, but no Mr Anthony just decided to go off and do something else. She supposed it was a nice day for fishing. Mari was tempted to pull out the rod again, almost. But she was already feeling frustrated from the whole ordeal and fishing was supposed to be her happy time. A serene moment of meditation. So if she started to do it when she was angr -

As Mari sat there, in the waning hours of the quickly dissipating evening, upon a large rock that sat in the forest. The forest of the first floor, a forest that was filled with a variety of trees, nature and trees…and like dirt and stuff. Also the fishermans hut. Boy howdy was she happy he wasn’t in the middle of the Town of Beginings… if he was..Mari wasn’t sure she’d be able to complete it… It was one thing to hide your identity on the upper floors but in a city filled with players too nervous to leave its walls? Yeh…no…the last thing they needed was some angry orange haired Pker wa -
Blade held aloft as she'd open her hands, trying to prove she was attempting to parley. "You have a tendency of getting swept up." The man remarked with his eyes narrowing for a brief flicker, you can see the shape of his lips move beneath the mask concealing his cursor. "How very noble of you" His appearance would shift to black hair in a blink of an eye, a lengthy looking Beat still sporting that knife keeping her at about 10 paces. The girl was in her past a ravenous untamed animal, pumped full of her own dope and ratcheted outside of her own mind. It was his opinion that she was too rogue,

The man had stepped away from the roofs edge, Mari was barely able to right herself up before she had a blade pointed at her. Instinctively, her hand dipped into her satchel, blue eyes staring up at the man. Trying to gauge him. He was poised. Ready to attack her - but he hadn’t. He hadn’t. He could have very easily done so by now. He could have pushed her off the roof, snapped the cord - any number of things. Slowly, carefully Mari pulled her hand out of her satchel, showing him her empty palm. “Kinda…got swept up in all that.” Mari said carefully. Her eyes shifted to the chaotic

The man slid out to the sounds of another NPC being gagged and destroyed, grasping onto the line with both hands and lifting his legs up to it in one fell swoop. Easily the man transitions above it, and skips along the tether like a tight rope. The guards wouldn't manage, and Bran looks back to confirm it. The woman however, clamped to the string with a piece of torn fabric worms her way down the wire albeit precariously. The man would step away from the roofs edge, pointing a blade out toward the woman knowing full well the depths of her madness and her supposed recovery. A frontline puppet.

Rapids churned waist-high around us, the falls’ thunder shaking stone. Suterusu paced like trapped lightning, its health bar a throbbing wound of orange and crimson. Dracul stood healed—Oath raised in defiant challenge, thorns gleaming like broken glass. Time to end this. Ariel dropped into Jumonji-gamae, the two-handed iai stance. Nihilim’s Wrath slid home into its scabbard with a whisper. No shadowflame stirred. Just cold steel and colder intent. Breathe. The world narrowed. Rapids slowed to viscous syrup. Suterusu’s panting breaths echoed like bellows. Millicent’s dagger hand tremble

Dracul replied to Ariel - The Crowned Lion's topic in Intermediate Floors
The roar of whitewater was a living thing around us, clawing at my legs as Suterusu paced like caged lightning. Its health bar pulsed—angry orange bleeding into jagged crimson at the edges—a testament to the thorn strike that had shredded its shoulder. Pride wounded, divinity insulted. Good. RAW-A sang in my blood again, that sword art that should have skewered this overgrown cat twice already. Oath trembled in my grip, light gathering at its tip like concentrated sunlight. Brighter this time. Fiercer. I braced against the current, moss-slick stone treacherous under my boots. The panther’s g -
“H-HEY!” Mari called out to him as she felt a rustle of her bag. That was bad. He could have taken all manner of things out of there. Granted the worst one she had already used…and to be true to her word - Mari only ever made one at a time of the noxious yellow orb. Then, a brush against her hair and the cigarette- her comfort smell reminding her of her pyromaniac man was removed. “Oi.” Slightly more annoyed, frustrated at that. With a small toss he aimed it at a locked door. The wooden door groaned and splintered before bursting into flame - causing people inside to scream from shock. Th

Mist bled from Ariel’s form as she emerged downstream. Dracul’s failed RAW A strikes hung heavy in the air, holy light guttering against Suterusu’s phase shifts. Impatience. But his thorns had marked the target. Now. She flowed forward, Nihilim’s Wrath a silver blur. No stealth, pure speed. Shink. The blade bit deep behind the foreleg. Black ichor bloomed on wet fur like dark flowers. A brutal chunk of yellow health vanished, the bar plunging into pulsing orange. Below half. The sword hummed in her grip, no shadowflame, but smug satisfaction vibrated up her arm. Really? Ariel suppres

Water sluiced down my armor as Suterusu circled, yellow health bar pulsing like a sickly sun. Ariel’s second strike still hung in the air – that shiver in her blade as it recognized divine flesh. My turn. RAW-A thrummed in my bones – the sword art that should spear this beast like a butterfly. "Enough skulking!" I roared, channeling Oath’s radiance into the thrust. Light gathered at the tip, sharp as a stiletto. Now. I lunged, boots digging into moss-slick rock. The panther flowed sideways like ink in water. My strike pierced empty mist where its heart had been a breath before. Oath’s lig
