’Right, I’m almost done here. Can you get me the finishing tools? I’ll need to wear down the edges to ensure they last and don’t fray away with time.’ She gave a nod towards the tools as the scissors continued to slide along the fabric’s edges. She didn’t look away from her work, engrossed in the task and not wanting to ruin a perfectly good piece – even if it was being used for nothing more than training purposes. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a masterpiece or a simple template, everything you do should see your best effort put into it. Anything less, and you dishonour the materials and the -

No answer came to mind, and Aoi found her hand stopping in place as she fought the urge to laugh at the ridiculousness of the idea to begin with. What an odd world we live in, where I’m trying to teach my friend robot how to sew, while also considering how to recompense it for one day running our tailoring business…all while I go fight monsters in an attempt to escape back into the real world. She shook her head, trying to clear away the tears that had appeared due to the strain of resisting the humour. She gave a sigh as she turned back to her task. She could already see the final cuts -

"Damn it's cold," Wulfrin said rubbing his hands together, trying his best to get warm. "Of all the places for the gate to spawn, why did it have to choose this frigid land. I'd have prefered it to appear on Floor 22." There was one last major drop to get in preparation for the raid. Upon doing some digging, Wulfrin learned of a field boss known as The Lich King on Floor 14. It's drop was an item known as The Darkness Salve, a one use item that could boost his wife, Ciela's, mitigation to new heights. Since she was planning on joining the frontlines in the fast approaching raid on Floor 29's boss, Wulfrin saw no better time than the present to sneak in a brief jaunt. The clock was ticking, so they had to move fast. "No time for big buffs," Wulfrin said as he hefted the Blade of Zariel over his shoulder.

Silence fell as Aoi continued cutting into the fabric, her motions calm, controlled and with a purpose that only she could imagine. Kaie watched from the side, the small red lens focused on her movements as it considered the path that the scissors would take, and the shape that the form would come to in finality. She could see the twitching movements of its appendages, not so much desiring to leap forward, but rather carving out a path in the air in front of it, as if mimicking the path that Aoi herself was making in the actual material. She didn’t let it distract her, but she made note of it -

It took Kaie nearly six attempts to find the right tool, and Aoi could see the flustered response in its movements. The robot scattered across the area, discharging tools and causing a clattering as it attempted to find the right thing – bringing piece after piece to Aoi’s side, only to receive a shake of the head in response. Aoi watched in a mixture of suspicious and pity as the form of Kaie slumped slightly, finally grabbing the right tool and slowly shuffling it over towards her. The movement, to Aoi, appeared almost apologetic or uncertain, and she knew that the familiar was feeling at le -

The majority of the tools she needed were already set up, and Aoi spent a few moments going over the more common ones with Kaie watching. She ensured to describe not only the name of the item – from the simple thimble and needle, to the various scissors, picks and other objects of the trade – but also their purpose, and how they would be used in the creation of their final piece. A few moments were spent testing Kaie, watching as the small robot pointed out the various implements once Aoi asked for them, and excited motion in its movements as it danced to-and-fro along the table before them. They’d left the café behind after finishing the small meal she’d ordered, Cervais heading off on his own adventure as Aoi took to the streets with Kaie in tow. She wasn’t entirely sure her plan of action going forward, but she’d spent some time over the meal discussing the quest with Cervais, learning about the intricacies of the system and the various openness that it provided in its completion. She was shocked to learn that she wasn’t required to complete one specific set of steps, but rather simply create a training program with her companion and find the best way to teach them the skill sh -

Aoi smiled and nodded her understanding, glancing over at the robotic being at her side. Kaie, she’d named it, had proven to be attached to her if nothing else. Though she wanted to call it annoying to a degree, she couldn’t help but admit the companion had been nothing short of helpful in its own way – even going so far as to try and collect and organise her small tailoring shop’s materials earlier in the morning. It had failed, miserably, but it had attempted it nonetheless after she’d tidied up a small portion of the work area and complained about the mess without thinking. Not to me -

Jomei the emerald duelist Midnight, possibly, or close to it. The suns light had faded hours ago and the red canopy that made up the Fire Forest were a much less brilliant color in the dull moonlight. Branches swayed in the wind, the rustling of their leaves sounding very much like the pattering of rain - a sound that he had grown sick of after countless days fighting off wave after wave of monsters on the 29th floor. Jomei needed a break, even if just a day, just some time to rest and recuperate. None of them would be able to continue

’It certainly looks like it needs some basic training.’ Cervais glanced at the robot to her side for the first time since sitting down – a feat that Aoi was somewhat impressed with, considering how it had maintained an aggressive posture the entire time they had been there. His eyes seemed to sparkle a little, as if amused by the robot’s behaviour, before he glanced back at Aoi. ’The good news is, you can try it to help you out. There’re actually a few skills specific to familiars that they can use, once they’re trained. Realigning its…purpose, so to speak, may actually help it to relax too. R -
The Underground Waterfalls had to lead somewhere, and Morningstar discovered that one came to a stop in the Geode Cache. The waterfall, which became a river, ended with a pool roughly the size of his mansion. The pale red water was slow-moving; a partial dam stopped the river from flowing properly. Morningstar launched a stone. It skipped across the water seven times, but he would have told you eight. It splashed gently over seconds until coming to a stop with a loud plop that echoed through the cavern. He tossed another. And then another. Underground, there was end to the supply of rocks

Nature's Treasure: Little Eden>> Cold. Bitter cold that seemed to pass through what clothing she wore and tore into her skin with an aggression that made Aoi wonder if the Cardinal system wasn’t attempting to bring her to an end simply through the freezing of her internal organs. Not that it could do such a thing, she knew. Digitally, she was nothing more than an image – no internal bones, organs, or any other features that could theoretically die from the cold that surrounded her. That logic didn’t stop her from shivering and complaining, however, pulling the dark jacket closer aro

Training Your Friend The small robotic creature that Aoi had managed to wrangle to her side as a companion and assistant had been an interesting addition to her daily routine. It required little in the way of actual maintenance and care – it ate nothing, didn’t require grooming or exterior time, and was content to simply follow her around wherever she went. In fact, as pets and companions went, Aoi felt that the creature was almost the perfect simplicity item she could’ve found in her searches. Except for one major flaw – it seemed to be bored out of its mind, and as such followed h

"I have a weapon that can do holy damage" Jomei said with a nod, as he lifted a hand to search through his inventory. Making sure Fragarach was still nestled nicely within the confides of his virtual pockets, he would close the menus once more. "Since we were able to take down this bear pretty easily, I'm sure the next boss shouldn't be too difficult either. Might be able to swap out some of my new equipment for my old stuff. As long as we take it out quickly, we won't be in too deep without a full tank build." "But you may be right about holding off for now, I know we've all got our han
