As you know we've borrowed the avatars from AnimeSuki and TheAvatarLibrary, somewhat limited as no new avatars have been added. However if you like, we are accepting new avatars to be added to new collections. Therefore if you wish to create your own unique avatars for us to make available to you all, then post your pictures here in this topic sharing your avatar images. You can use tinypic, photobucket, etc... to upload your avatars to and those services will provide you with a copy/paste link to show them in a post.

There will be required qualifications necessary before submission. For example, the avatars may be no larger than 150x150 pixels. The file sizes may be no larger than 1 megabyte. You must have a minimum of 12 avatars to submit before we'd accept them. And they must be SAO related.

It is November and here are your updates. The SAO forums has improved it's spambot protection by 100%, with that, registrations are once again open to all public thanks to our new puzzle key-CAPTCHA.

Our shoutbox has also gone public, all users can post and comment in the shoutbox. With this handy speaking tool, we've had numerous players share their feedback and we've listened to your feedback and have included several out of context forum sections. One for sharing a normal introduction about you and your hobbies, along with several forums for non-SAO anime and games. And a general use forum to speak everything else.

Be reminded the SAO RP has also begun, you are all free to post your characters sheets and begin playing immediately. And all players until the end of this month are given beta test status and will be able to retain this indefinitely. Much like how players in the SAO series were trapped in the game on November 6th 2022. Starting December, this ability to obtain beta testing status will be removed until random promotions later in the future.

In random news, Something Witty Entertainment has published two episodes of Sword Art Online Abridged on YouTube. A very comical and witty re-voicing of the SAO anime.

Welcome to the first SAO-RPG Advertising Event! We want to spread the word of the Sword Art Online RPG community to help bring you many players to encounter. Therefore we will be hosting several advertising campaigns and be issuing out rewards for your participation and contribution you bring to this goal. The prizes will obviously become bigger and better as we grow and start off as something unique that not many other players have access to, access to easily, or early access to an unique update.

A tidbit that came up, obviously we blacklisted the character names from being used on this site. To make things fair and equal to everybody. But what about guild names? Names of guilds that were used in the anime, guilds are perfectly acceptable to create right this second, but should the names of guilds from the anime not be allowed?

Disallow all users and staff from starting a guild with a name used in the franchise?

Disallow all users except for staff?

Allow both users and staff to use SAO guild names for their guild?

You be the judge!

Also for that matter, what about character names? Should they ever be allowed? Should they be reserved? Or should the blacklist be taken down?

So last week we received Sword Art Online for the first time in English dubbed on cable TV. Those of you who never watched the series before what did you think? And those that did watch the series in Japanese audio, now hearing the English dubbed for the first time, what do you think?

Aniplex of America confirmed during its live streaming panel on Friday that its release of the Sword Art Online television anime series will include an English dub.Aniplex will hold an exclusive screening of the dub at Seattle's Sakura-Con convention in March, followed by a question-and-answer session with Sword Art Online light novel series creator Reki Kawahara.

Pi brought this up to me in the past, and I just remembered right now while posting. You can not type in double hyphen's in a post. The forum will take you back to the main page when you hit preview or submit if you have two hyphen's back to back in a post.

I find Kirito entertaining. Mostly his quirky sense of attitude. From face poking everyone in game and in real life, to his monster transforming diabolical and unsummoning all scheming. Especially when he was carrying Asuna on his back from their lake side house and telling her a made up ghost story and turning out to be almost true and he looking confused as if "i made that story up", now we're fucked.

Alfheim Online was pretty cool, particularly Kirito transforming into a monster which despite being in control seemed out of control, kinda made the useless race seem to be the most powerfulest of them all out of nowhere.

Also, the incomplete world tree event where gamers were just swarmed with monsters not realizing there's no end to the number of sentential. suckers...

Depends on what you people want. At the start of this topic I imported the post-to-level scale used on my other RP site. But whether it will be used or not is up to everyone, maybe a poll should be made. It can either be RP post based, however there are pros and cons with that; mostly relating to perspective of quality over quantity which everyone has difference of opinions on. Right now it's based on post rank, you make 10 posts it automatically shows you as level 2; you make 38 posts and it shows you as level 3 and so forth. Again, quality over quantity is to be debated, however it's all automatic and encourages people to post more to become more participant and active with their characters and this site to be the greatest.

I don't think having a familiar appear in that information area below avatars next to people's posts takes much work to implement

Having a text name of the type of pet the user has is doable, making it display an image instead unfortunately I was unable to create. So yes and no, it can be done.

If the imaged matched the colors of the forum, or if the forum matched the blues from the image; I'd be inclined to accept the Aincard version of the logo. However since this forum doesn't push to focus on "graphics-upping" the whole forum and mostly relies on text links at the moment, I think the basic Sword Art Online logo requested, edited, tilted, and being used right now works fine. And it looks easy to see on mobile devices. Plus keep in mind mobile users will want to conserve as much data as possible, therefore images with less bytes is perferred.

As long as the thread gets locked or there's some indication that the RP that it contains is completed I don't see a problem with just letting things fall to the bottom for now, though eventually you may have to look at it that it could start looking over crowded when more and more people join in, I think we shouldn't entirely dismiss the idea of a sub-fora for the completed threads, but just keep it on the back-burner for the time being.

People can subscribe and unsubscribe from topics in their User Control Panel, their own way of keeping track of what they want to focus on. And with multiple accounts, this wont get cluttered.
