The boss will appear on 23rd of December, after which the gates to the boss close.The signup sheet burned away, an odd appearance when it was on ice, along with a dark chuckle that resounded from a distance. It was an unsettling way to show the end of the sign up for sure. A giant clock then appeared on the door, ticking away, presumably to show that in two days time the doors would open.

This is the official sign up for the Christmas Event.
It is Strongly recommended you do not apply unless you are at least level 20. Under-leveled applicants run the risk of their immediate death.
Players have received a player wide notification with a message, speaking of a boss that approaches who threatens the sanctity of Christmas. The boss is known as «Klaublauf» and it is inside a giant glacial cavern on Floor 4. The entrance to the cavern is currently sealed completely tight, however the doors to it will open on the 20th of December.
Players are asked to fill a sign up sheet outside the entrance of the cavern, to which it then will open to those players.

The damage for being skipped is something that is being trailed for this boss battle; it is an incentive to keep an eye on the thread you are in, to ensure that you are not skipped. It is also an incentive to promote activity within the boss fight and to demote users joining then abandoning the thread.

Tristan focused again on the monsters after people rested, clearly these mobs taking quite a toll on them with their sheer defensive power. Sure it wasn't a defence matching his own, but it actually came not far off now that he thought on it. The monsters came at Tristan with full force, to which Tristan grinned and met them back in kind with his shield in their faces. He was too focused however on his defence to return with an attack, not that it mattered since these mobs were rather pesky with their defence and Tristan's offence was not exactly desirable in level.

Tristan sheathed his spear and looked back at Teayre after she destroyed the monsters and withdrew her own weapon, the antmen now dead. He gave her a gentle look and and smiled slightly as he watched her pull grass in frustration and talked about her fear of being consumed by something, maybe the guilt or the hate of committing the act. With a slight audible sigh, he said "Well I'm here to help out. If you need something from me, feel free to shoot me a message and I'll see what I can do. I'd rather as many good people come out of this game alive as possible. Just don't forget there is always redemption, and I don't mean only the quest for that.". He pondered as she began walking away, at this point feeling it was unnecessary to pull them back for more. Maybe another time.

I think I can understand what you mean by that, which is a weapon with high level AOE attacks but also competent 1v1 sword arts, though lacking stun. I'll look into it more later for that possible implementation.

Tristan stopped a moment with his combat to take a break, moving to Flints and holding her shoulder and giving her a gentle look. The enemies seemed too shocked by the sudden entry of extra party members that it was inconsequential anyway to do anything, instead tending to his partner. He gave a reassuring look and spoke, saying "There's no need to worry or to apologise. This quest makes every level suffer with their strength. If anything, just know that the best way to go is to work together with everyone. As they help us now, we help them in the time they call. Sure there are some who go solo, but to work together is what ensures all of us are alive to this day. So instead, think on at the task at hand instead rather than beating yourself up. Granted my role is simpler, so I don't have to do as much, but still.". Tristan smiled and said "Thank you for joining us Lessa, it is good to see you again.", then resumed by going into a defensive stance.

Tristan watched as several people joined the party, including Hikoru who he had helped in the past with the Guardian of Fire quest. It was good to see players all around, both newer and older coming out to form together and strike what the world of Sword Art Online had to offer. He smiled as they spoke, fully liking the prospect put before them. Cracking his neck to the side and equipping his default equipment, he nodded and said "Let us just keep searching until we find a dungeon. It may take a while though, since they aren't incredibly common and thus can be a pain to find. The plan is sound also, I can fully agree to it.".

Tristan got bored of waiting for the enemy to attack, instead taking matters into his own hands and striking the enemy at full force, his spear spinning as he sliced through them and damaged the enemy group. Tristan stepped back when he finished attacking, the enemy seemingly too dazed to do anything at this point so did not retaliate. Tristan noted that Teayre should be back to full energy to return to the battle now as well.
