  1. Hirru found someone very quickly when he heard the sound of shattering which accompanied combat.  As he reached the area, he found a young woman having finished taking out a creature.  From her appearance, you would think that she was not a warrior, but SAO would surprise anyone with the appearance that leather armor could take.  He tugged at his Kun Fur Hat and waved back with the other hand.  Hirru wasn't shy, he was just on his way to get more materials for whatever he needed, and didn't have any conversational material at that time.

That didn't matter as he was completely lost on this floor, as he hadn't been here for very long.  Before he knew it, Hirru was approaching the woman.  He had stopped a few feet away to keep distance from any unsuspected blade to the face, and gave a small bow.

"Good day, miss!  I was just wondering if you knew of any good spots for strong beasts?  I'm looking for parts, and the folks in town pointed me near here."

Though fighting low leveled creatures and searching through the undergrowth were simple and safe ways to get mats, there was only one sure fire way: Strong Mobs.

  2. I listened for anything to tell me what is going on.  Why they wanted to make me suffer?  Why this world wanted to make me a sadistic critter killer.  I quickly shook that last one off.

    "I am not sadistic...am I?"

    "Squeak."

"Thank you Rakkun, you are quite helpful."

By the gods and goddesses above, I was talking to a Rakkun.  I have finally fallen off the deep end of the mind game pool.  If I hadn't cracked before, I had now.  I needed to end this somehow, or not.  Who knows if this was really in my head, or I was really getting f**ked with.

  3. Hirru found himself in the woodlands of the second floor on the search for those elusive materials that would help him in the future.  It was funny to him that these materials, or mats for short, were almost as valued as Col.  Maybe, even more so as people used them for crafting everything from swords and shields, to the potions that we drink.  These people would swarm you if you had enough materials for what they needed, and could usually barter with them for the right goods.

He thought about going into some kind of profession, but nothing ever piqued his interest.  Blacksmiths were everywhere; Tailors were few and far between, but hardly anyone uses the light armor skill.  Artisans were glorified jewelers, and he wanted none of that.  Alchemists would be a good one to go for, but he wasn't really sure about it.  He also heard rumors about potion misuse, so he avoided that topic.  Cooking was not his forte, as he was quite impatient; and Performer sounded silly.  Then there was Fisher, which, like cooking, he didn't have the patience for.  Lastly, Merchant was the closest thing that he considered as that was true money coming in and out.  Items for anyone, but the system didn't use mats for much, and would require the purchase of all shop items.

Hirru stood there as he looked around the area, trying to find something that would pique his interest.  An item!  A mob!  A person!  Anything to get his mind away from getting a job.

  4. (I swear if this rock turns into a golem...)

Hirru sighed deeply when the other warrior got up and killed the creature in such a flourish, you would think that this guy was either a high level player, or just some weirdo that loved doing flips and such.  Then, as if all of that wasn't any of his business, the victor simply walked away towards better things.  If it wasn't for the fact that Hirru was about to do the same thing, minus the interference, he would have kept going too.  He was, unfortunately caught by tall individual that had his quarry stolen.  After introducing himself as Grave, Hirru gave his own as he had to look up to look at his face.

"Likewise, I'm Hirru.  What was that all about?  Do you know that guy?"

  5. I was getting tired of this game that we were playing.  After a long while of staring at this Rakkun, I seriously don't think that it wants to hurt me, but every so often the trap seems to come from interaction with the critter.  Maybe, whatever is causing this was having fun toying with me in the shadows.  It was having a grand ole time, at my expense.  I was having none of that, and shouted out to the forest,

"Is this a game to you?"

    "Squeak?"

    "Not you, Rakkun!"

  6. (That's fine)

As Hirru decided to take a quick nap, the guy beside him asked what he wanted.  A fairly vague question to ask, but a fair response to his own statement.  Keeping his eyes open towards the ceiling, he could think of many things.  He turned his head towards the other before speaking,

"Well, there is the common goal that everyone wants.  To reach the 100th floor; to clear this game, as they say."

Hirru began to think about how things were now.  Everyone coming out of their shells lately.  Many have died, but even more were still pulling themselves out of the fear and sadness, and facing the danger head on.  Those chosen few were apart of the great pilgrimage to obtain freedom for the masses.

Unfortunately, they were also adding to the numbers.  It was a sad truth to be sure.  Out of the 10,000 that were trapped, 2000 and more have died already.  The deaths slowed down after the front-lines started clearing the floors, but  people were still dying.  Some by accident, others murdered, and even more mysteriously disappear over night.

Hirru's face grew saddened by that fact.  Sitting up once more, he stared off into the distance.

"Though, to call that a 'want', would be a disgrace to the ones that have already passed.. No, that is a NEED of all of us here."

Laying back down, he sighed deeply.  He didn't want to rant, but his mind wanted to get it out.  Calming down a bit, he continued on to say,

"Anyway, I would have to say that I want to find myself.  What I really am to myself, this world, and to everyone else."

  7. Hirru soaked up everything that Vasth just spilled out.  His listening was never a problem for what he could remember.  He liked to listen to peoples stories, but really envied them.  He wanted to cherish his own memories, but they seemed like the times of yore.  All recollections have been scattered to the winds of time.

When Vasth looked on towards Hirru while he mentioned the current love of his life, he had to shrug.

"Probably not, I've only met one or two women since I got out of the Town of Beginnings.  I haven't really been thinking about that much recently.  More thought towards unlocking the mind than to unlock the heart, you know."

  8. As I wasn't really having any of trickery, I did not want to have an image of myself being a killer of cute animals.  Though, the kun hat and wolf vest kind of defeats that purpose.  I kept my eye on the little critter before I noticed my health rise from my battle healing skill.  If it wasn't for that, I would probably have a hard time.  Though, by now, these traps have been doing barely anything to him.

"Come on you blue-furred cupid winged canine!  I'm not having any of your Kun distractions!"

Hirru watched as Xion had to disagree with those orders and went into another howl.  Technically speaking that would have done the same as he was asking for, but now the Kobold would be able to attack if neither Beoreson or himself could hit.  At that point, there was wasn't any reason to have Mack hold his attack.  Technically, he would have probably killed it, if Xion had attacked.  Then to make matters worse, Beore's attack was deflected.

It was at that point that Hirru had to evaluate himself on a leadership level.  Was he really leading them, or just barking orders in random fashion?  He shook those thoughts out of his mind as he ran around the right side and activated sword skill <<Sonic Leap>>.  Blade glowed, and Hirru hurtled towards the Kobold before leaping in the air to land a downward strike.  He quickly jumped back before anything else could happen.

Having had most of its health drained, it forgone its attack to pull out a little white horn.  A sound akin to the <<Call to Arms>> that a performer would be able to create.  Hirru didn't have to wonder long about what that meant as another Kobold spawned several feet away.

"This wasn't in the manual!  Xion! One more Howl to grab the attention of the other one."

Hirru looked towards Mack and Beoreson.

"Mack!  Focus your attack towards the first Kobold!  Beoreson, attack the first kobold only if Mack misses.  If he does kill it, focus your attack towards the second one."

  10. Hirru had to shrug to the warrior that didn't need his help.  He walked away from them a bit before seeing another person.  This one actually seemed like a stronger person, if it wasn't for the fact that Hirru didn't really know this person, he would have stayed clear of him.  Then again, his curious nature got the better of him as his walk leaned towards the stranger.  It wasn't until he was pretty close that Hirru would say anything.  Looking from the fight and back, Hirru grinned,

"I guess this is a show now?"

  11. As if by clockwork, the Rakkun tried again to get my attention.  I leaned in slightly before leaning back thinking that something would be hurtling my way.  Nothing happened.

"Hmm, I guess it only happens when I'm fully engrossed in whatever you're doing, huh."

Saying that made its head cock to the side before inching towards me again.  A good golf swing of the blade knocked it back a few paces.  This was becoming a little sadistic on my part, and I didn't really like it.

  12. I kept my eyes on the enemy as it edged closer to me.  The Rakkun stopped where it was before it held out its paw in a show of apology.  I don't know what this thing wants, but it couldn't be good.  As I reached my off hand towards it, an inkling of danger crept through me and I pulled my arm back.  I wasn't fast enough as another tree trunk slammed into my free hand causing damage plus thorned damage.  Was everything thorned?

The Rakkun looked at me before running up and stealing a snuggle.  I simply batted it away with my sword.  I was having none of that right now.

  13. Hello there!

Let me kick this off and say, I agree with most of what you're saying here.  In my RP with Starrine, I try to teach her the fundamentals of the system, but since I was technically a level 11 teaching a level 1 to fight a boar with 3 HP, she didn't get the loot.  Though, in hindsight, I could have just taught her everything in a PM, but that doesn't work for everyone.  People like to learn by experience, but the loot system is trickier.

You have to either have a weak enemy that gives nothing back and hope that you get a 15 LD for non-combat loot, or a lootable beast that could one hit a new character.

Now, there is one thing that I would like to say about that: scaling!  As far as I've seen, most mobs that I've seen people create, they actually don't scale them to the health.  I've seen mobs that are scaled to the highest character, but the mob is maybe only doing +1 DMG more than it usually does, or they don't scale it at all.  I know I've done it in a thread or two, and can understand why.  If I tried that while RPing with someone, or soloing, Cardinal/Diceroller would kill them/me.

    I'm getting off topic...

Anyway, the HP rules do seem like they could have a rewrite, but there are already too many loopholes through them.

@Starrine  Thank you....Add 1 mat to your pack.

  14. Even more so now, than ever.  I could feel the natural instincts of an animal from the fragments of armor that I have obtained.  Nothing seemed to be coming at me, so I decided to search for it.  There was a fox out there that was going to have a big problem once I found it.  If I find it, that is.

As I rounded another tree, I was jump at by another Rakkun.  These guys must love me, if they keep coming at me like this.  I moved out of the way of the beast while driving my blade along where I stood.  It caught the kun along its side as it continued its decent towards the ground.  It landed quite well and faced me with the cute little face that only a cold hearted person wouldn't love.

Unfortunately, I was having none of that!

  15. Hirru couldn't help a hearty laugh to escape for that comeback.  He hasn't really met anyone with a sense of humor towards something that would normally kill someone.  Though, it seemed short lived as the guy regained his composure into something akin to a few others out here.  Hirru sighed at the second answer that he got.

"Well, to each their own.  I think that this floor is pretty good once you're not being attacked left and right."

Sitting back down in the grass, the small glimpse of sunlight that would ever grace their view was at its peak from this floor.  Wondering what the sun would be like on the other floors, his back found the grass again.

"All you really have to do is find the thing that you really want in this world, and you will find it.  Eventually, you will."

  16. "Don't worry about it!"

Hirru said as the guy in front of him brushed himself off.  It was kind of strange for someone to climb up a tree, especially in this world where anything could easily get you killed.  Well, almost everything could, but he hasn't really seen or heard of anyone dying to a potato yet.  Hopefully, that never happens.

"So, what made you want to relive the life of a baby bird, cause that's what it looked like."

Hirru chuckled at that.  He quickly waved his hand in a joking manner.

"I'm kidding, anyway, what were you doing in the tree?"

  17. ((I don't see why.  There isn't a real problem, unless you've been here a while.  Besides it's a rock, unless you wanna make it an enemy, but that's kinda weird))

Hirru found himself looking at the weirdest sight.  Not the NPC getting attacked by a monster, that was getting to be a normal site actually.  The actually weird part was a player that had started a fight with it.  Again, this isn't a weird thing, and shouldn't really surprise him.  It was the fact that this was the first thing that he truly found interesting on this floor other than the landscape.  Other than that, this place was rather.. dull.  Hirru was on his way to continue to the 2nd floor dungeon when he found this scene.

Stopping to watch, the player had missed his mark and was hit by the creature called, Baby Ent.  Hirru stood there and spoke up,

    "You need any help there?"

    ((Also, image for lulz))

  18. Hirru couldn't figure out why, but something there was a small inkling that told him to move a bit.  Ever since he got these armor pieces, he had been getting these weird feelings to move out of the way of danger.  He decided to indulge them again, and scooted a mel away from a tree that he was apparently next to.

A few seconds later, more like 20 but who's counting, a body fell from the treetops in front of him.  He looked up in surprise at the person that just crashed, face first, into the ground.  From the look of that fall, it would have taken out at least 2 or 3 HP.  Though, he wasn't much of a judge of that.

    "That looks like it hurt."

Hirru said as he got up from his position on the ground.  He walked over to the guy, and offered a hand.

  19. Hirru was lying in the fields where the boars roamed.  He was at such a level, that they didn't aggro him even if they were right next to him.  Though, if one accidentally touched him, he would just have to stick them with the pointy end of his Anneal Blade, and they would be dead in an instant.  That is, if he could hit them.  Even now, sometimes boars will dodge his attacks.  That wasn't a real problem though.  They didn't do much damage, and he could heal that instant when his battle healing kicked in.

Life was sort of easy, but that didn't mean he didn't have his own hardships.

Without a profession to get Col, he would have to hunt to get his earnings, and that meant going out to bigger and badder monsters to gain enough to live.  Boars didn't give anything anymore, and he needed the coin.  Though, that really didn't matter as long as he was having fun with it, which is weird to say.

How can you have fun, when you can die at any moment?

  21. I watched as the Rakkun tried to come towards me again, and yet again, my blade found its mark.  The poor creature squeaked before bursting into a bunch of light shards.  I looked around for anything else before letting my guard down.  The fox was still out there, and could be the one that was messing with me while the Rakkun was distracting me.  I needed to keep my concentration up unless I get attacked again.

At that moment, I got a notification for the Rakkun that I killed.  It appears that I got something out of it.  Looking at the item, I had to chuckle a bit.

I equipped it immediately, which appeared on my head.  It fit snugly and comfortably as though it was truly made for me.  Moving my head from side to side, I could feel something on the back of my neck.  Feeling with my hand, I found something furry hanging from the cap.  Pulling it into view, I could see the distinct features of the Rakkun's tail, in fact, it WAS the Rakkun's tail.

"I better not have any Rakkun's thinking that I'm a friend anymore."

  22. Hirru had to shrug at the question.

"I'm not really sure about a 'job' as there isn't really any jobs per-say."

He had to joke about that as SAO didn't have a job class system, it was all skills and levels.  Levels could make you powerful, but if you didn't have the skills to back it up, you were just a punching bag for the enemies.

"I don't exactly have a 'profession' if that's also what you're asking.  Nothing really interested me.  I see way too many of each type, but not many are pure combat types.  I'd prefer to stay a swordsman and have that as my focus in life."

Hirru began to wonder if he should look into a living, but killing mobs is a fairly good way to earn Col, and he liked it.  It was at that time that Hirru realized something.  He leaned in while putting his elbows on the table.

"You know, you've been asking me all these questions, but I know nothing about yourself, except that your name is Vasth!  What about you?  Ambitions?  Profession?  Anything you wanna tell me about your life before?"

Hirru went into the questions a little hard.  In all reality, he was kind of jealous of those that could remember the past, but it was true.  He didn't want the bad memories, just the good ones.  Hirru leaned back in his chair.

"If you don't want to tell me, that's fine."

  23. It was then that I remembered what those reports said.  These creatures would lure someone towards a trap, or stall them long enough for a trap to ensnare them.  It would make sense as these monsters had a more likable appearance and could easily trap someone in a sense of security, if they didn't know any better.

Figuring that this is the case, I readied my blade against the Rakkun.  It came towards me cautiously again, but I wasn't having any of that.  My blade flashed forward hitting the Rakkun, making it roll backwards.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not dying because of an adorable trap."

  24. As I talked to the little guy, something felt off.  Not the rakkun, but something else within the forest.  It was then that the instincts of a wolf hit me which made me move out of the way of a spiked log that came flying by on vines.  The Rakkun scurried away from me as I made the sudden movements.

"Either you're trying to kill me with adorableness, or something else is trying to kill me with thorns.  I don't know which one, but I won't allow either."

  25. "Do you want to attack me, or just cause me deep confusion?"

I asked it, but since it was a monster, it wouldn't really respond.  In the meantime, it came towards me more cautiously this time.  I didn't know what to do about it, and decided to let it get near.  It didn't really do anything as it came towards me.  It stopped before my leg and started rubbing itself on my leg.  I don't know if it was the amount of adorableness in this creature, or the battle healing skill, but my HP recovered to full.

"Well, aren't you the weirdest one.  Usually, monsters try to attack me when I hit them."
