  1. Hirru took the embrace with a little of a surprise, but he was technically ready for it the entire time.  His friend was in need, and he was there to give him the time that he needed.  He returned the hug in kind.

    "You're welcome."

He said before getting back up, and hearing Xion apologize to him.

"There is no need to be sorry.  I've seen the real you, and that makes me proud to see."

Hirru smiled back at him before going to the counter where the paper was.  After a while, he opened his menu and six ingots of various ores fell across the counter.  Having thought that it was enough, he turned back towards the Xion.

"I'll give you some time to get back to your work, I have my own work to do, as well."

Hirru turned towards the door, but before he left a small piece of paper fell from his hand.

    "See ya!"

A smile could be seen from Hirru's face as walked out

  2. ((This is shortly after the RP in http://www.sao-rpg.com/topic/8601-pp-f2-speed-vs-tank-hirru-vs-xion/?do=findComment&comment=410447))

A small piece of paper and six (6) materials were left behind by Hirru when he left the store after their conversation.

    Xion,

I'm proud of you, as you take your destiny in hand.  It is a story that requires refinement from you.  You must learn that yourself, with...

    Patience

    Name: Patience

Item Type: 1 Handed Straight Sword (Long Sword)

    Quality: Rare

    Enchantments: +1 DMG / +1 BLEED

Description: A blade that causes bleeding damage over time.  The blades red tinge denotes the possibility that it consumes the blood that remains on its surface.

~~"The lone swordsman crept through the hollow corridor into the inner sanctum of an unholy cathedral.  Resting with its blade in a pedestal, a single sword lay.  A voice called out to the warrior, 'Thou that seeketh the power to end thy foes; give onto the blade ones own life blood, and take sword in hand."  The warrior approached the sword and upon seeing the inner blades, took both in hand, slicing into his skin.  His blood flowed freely onto the main blade which seemed to be absorbed into itself causing the blade to turn from its shiny gloss, to a darkened red like that blood was now one with the blade.  Taking sword in hand, he pulled and the sword was free.  'Patience in death as one would be in life.' the voice called out one final time."~~

    and Time

    Name: Time

Item Type: 1 Handed Straight Sword (Long Sword)

    Quality: Rare

    Enchantments: +1 DMG / +1 PARALYSIS

Description: A blade that causes paralysis when the time is right.  The blade seems to have a slight glowing tinge of blue within the inner blade.

~~"The lone swordsman crept through the hallowed halls into the inner sanctum of a holy church.  Resting with its blade in a pedestal, a single sword lay.  A voice called out to the warrior, 'Thou that seeketh the power to stop thy foes; give onto the blade your solemn vow, and take sword in hand and hold it skyward."  The warrior approached the sword and upon reaching the pedestal, lowered himself to one knee, and vowed to use the blade only on those that seek damnation. Taking sword in hand, he pulled and the sword was free.  As he proceeded to point the blade skyward, an arch of lightning crashed from the holy symbol on the wall, to the blade.  The warrior was surprised to not be harmed. 'Time is yours to control.' the voice called out one final time."~~

Let the creation of these blades remind you that all is well in your world, as we fight to save mine.

  3. Hirru had to chuckle as Koumori bragged about his ability to smite a pig with a rock, from behind his back, without looking.  The more Hirru thought about it, he had to think about how this world worked.  Though, he kept that all to himself, but thinking about the sword skills that this world used for combat.  They seemed to be forced along by something that would pull them towards their target.  It was a belief in him, that something supernatural was about it.  Like magic, but he had heard that there was no such thing in this world.  Was it something else?

"I'd prefer hunting with my sword, but lets keep this up a bit."

Hirru tried again, but nothing came of it.  He even missed the boar again.  The boar looked at him before trudging though the grass.

  4. Hirru continued to scan the area for anything that could possibly be of use to anyone, but had overlooked the flora of the area.  As Mai went over to the plant and added it to her inventory, he kept a mental note to look for any plants that may or may not be useful.  Though, he didn't really know what would be considered a usable material, but didn't want to start ripping plants out of the ground for no good reason.  She-who-has-no-name would kill him for sure.

When asked by Mai about if he had a profession, he had to shrug.  He thought of the question in detail.  It had been on his mind ever since he got to the second floor.  Out of all the professions, he thought of a few, and those didn't have much of a competition as the others.

"No, I haven't searched too much into it.  Been keeping to exploring the floors as I make my way to the front lines, on foot.  That way, I can be sure to be the proper level by the time that I get there."

  5. (You'll see when I announce it)

Hirru couldn't believe what he just saw.  The guy activated a sword skill and shot the rock behind him which actually got a boar, killed it, and gained a material.  That was unreal, if anything.  Hirru laughed before picking up another stone and weighed it in his hand before turning around.

    "That may be."

He closed his eyes before visualizing a boar behind him. The ringing of a skill formed in his ear, and shot towards a boar.  The distinctive shattering of pixels told him that he had hit the mark, not that sword skills ever missed.  He gained nothing out of it, though.

    "Definitely not mine."

  6. Hirru smiled at that, and hoped that he was right.  He could see that Xion meant well, but his current condition wasn't helping it much.  The hunter got up to walk over to Xion, and placed a hand on his shoulder.  Kneeling slightly to stay eye level with the young warrior, listening to his voice, watching the small glints of tears dropping to fall onto his lap.

"Your life is your own story, one that is told through your actions, and read through the eyes of others."

Hirru began to pat his shoulder as he tried to console his friend.  He didn't want his friend to think badly of his own past.  There was a reason for everything that has happened to now.

"You wrote what you can, and your past has shaped your present.  Yet that mold is still warm and can be changed with just the slightest intention."

He said as he gestured to what Xion has made out for himself.  This world was his chance to change what he had created for himself.

"Many things have happened for you, I can tell.  Many negative feelings are in those tears, but never let them be the memories that you hold in your heart.  Let those be the happy ones that have carried you to this point."

Hirru pat his shoulder one last time before rising up and going to a counter where some paper was.  After some time, he turned back to Xion with a gentle smile on his face.  He walked back over to his friend, before kneeling once more.

"If it wasn't for the events that brought you here, I would probably have never met you.  I don't know how I know that, and that feeling is what hurts me the most.  That, however, will not stop me."

    "Will it stop you?"

  7. Hirru stared at the joker of a swordsman as he broke himself out of the crack, while making crackpot jokes along the way.  Not that Hirru wasn't doing it too, he was just in the moment.  Nothing would change this man, would it?!  Not even a Grizzly thrown at him would have helped the matter.  Noting that more bad puns were coming, he sighed deeply.

"Your brittle jokes are going to get you stoned.."

Hirru growled before picking up where he left off, and tried to separate more of the rock into pieces.  Trying with all of his might, he couldn't release anything from the rock, again.

"Alright, I'm about to grab that Grizzly and throw it at the boulder.."

  8. "That's some life, if I ever heard of one."

As it turns out, this was the only time that anyone has fully went out of their way to lay out their past.  Though, he could tell that it wasn't everything, it was fine none-the-less.  Not even that one guy who helped him during the drunken escapades of Horunka Village gave him that kind of information.  Thinking upon it, Hirru could feel nothing, though.  Not in the instance that he couldn't feel Xions true memories from his heart, as Hirru was a good listener.  Being a good listener is being able to pick up on the trace hints that people can give.  Some can lie, and that can be shown by their eyes and gestures.  Body language, no matter the physical form of the body, was still the same.

Unless, you were some sort of alien or animal, but that wasn't the case here, now was it?

"I can't remember much of that life, but I can say that it probably turned me towards a good life.  Heck, would I be me now, if I wasn't?"

  9. ((I like it and we'll keep that for this thread, but I was thinking about doing something about luck increasing gear for the actual minigame tournaments that I have in mind.  To get it more it in focus with the actual grabbing of materials))

Hirru looked at Koumori as he asked if they could throw the stones without looking.  That sounded like a better distraction than anything else that he had thought of.  To think, that this guy was coming up with more ideas for a little game that was supposed to keep them away from a dark subject.  If he wasn't having fun with it, Hirru would think that Koumori was doing it intentionally.

Having found a new challenge in the matter, Hirru turned around and closed his eyes.  He pictured one of the boars that was last in his sight.  This time, he threw it before hearing the distinctive ring of the sword skill and it missed its mark.

  10. "Bought, huh.."

Hirru had heard that from everyone.  Apparently the Nerve-Gear was the thing that was keeping everyone in this world.  A helmet that, when worn, could send signals to the brain that could replicate the senses.  It could also shut off the motor functions of the body, except for the heart and lungs, allowing life to be sustained while the mind was in a different state.  This allowed for people to stay in the world of virtual reality, as it was called, for an indefinite time.  Even hunger was simulated and could be diminished by eating in the system.  Your mind was none the wiser that your body was growing hungry on the other side.

"Hmm.. makes sense, I guess.  Everyone else is trapped by this device, from what I hear."

It made Hirru think, 'Was I in the same situation?'.  Obviously, he was, but there was a problem with all of that.  All records of him ever getting into the world of Aincrad was lost when he first came into this world.  He couldn't remember anything up to the awakening in the Castle Aincrad.

"I don't.. know if I ever did buy such a device... I don't even know if this is really real, and not a part of my imagination."

Thinking that way, Hirru instantly waved it off.  That would have been an insult to anyone else, but he hoped that Xion understood.

"Not saying that you're not... but... it's so..."

Removing the thoughts from his mind, Hirru continued to his questions.  The memories would have to wait.

"Well, how about yourself in particular.  I've seen people act like something that they were not in the 'other life', what were you like?  Again, I don't want you to have any bad feelings from it, or bring up any bad memories.  I want you to be happy with your life so far, no matter what happened!"

  11. "Alright, let me think!"

Hirru was quite excited about this.  After a while of knowing him, you could tell that he enjoyed knowing more about people.  Though, true intentions were not always applied.  Most of the time, he was interest in your story to see if anything triggered his memories.  Lately, not much has, but that hasn't stopped him.  Especially with the latest surge to hit his system.  Hirru was ready to ask as many questions as need be, but he was decent enough not to flood individuals with thousands of questions at once.

"Let's start with how you got here.  Though I prefer if you keep any dramatic portions to yourself, please be as open as you want."

  12. "No, not in particular.  Just felt bored, and wanted to change the subject."

Honesty wasn't one of his virtues, but at that time, he didn't care.  The competition was still having him in the lead with 1 point, but it was any ones game as it was still in the early stages.  He didn't really care who won either.  This was all something he came up with to get their minds away from the workings of the world and how they fit into it.  A feeling that he never liked to talk about to anyone, since this world was his only link to anything.

Hirru took another stone, and took aim... and killed the boar, but nothing was gained.

"Hmm.. I should think of some way to make it better, but let's continue."

  13. Seeing that Koumori was having fun with it, Hirru was glad that he could make someones day a little better.  Having everything in this world as a possible deathtrap could take away from the fact that this entire place was a game, even if Hirru couldn't really tell the difference in the two.  As the second round came to a close, it was Hirru who was leading with 1 point.  The guy asked if Hirru was cheating or anything.

"Nope, I have nothing in my stats set for Luck!"

Grabbing another rock, Hirru shot another rock out to the next victim of this little game.  It shattered in a million pieces, but nothing came of it.

    "Nothing!  Oh, well!"

  14. Hirru waved Xion away from the subject.

"Just not used to industrial works; been living in the forest most of the time."

Which has been true.  Ever since his venture into the forest, he's felt more at peace near a forest.  Mostly the one south of Tolbana, where he would get regular visits from a certain friend.  Nature was his home, where the boar do roam and you can throw rocks at them all day.  Of course, he would get yelled at by she-who-is-not-named for it, but that wasn't his problem.

"Well, you can get to those when I'm out of here.  In the meantime, let's learn a bit about each other, shall we?"

  15. Entering the smithy, Hirru was hit with the atmosphere of fire and metal.  All of which made him gag from the feeling of nausea. He preferred the solitude and grace of nature, but he wasn't going to say that to the hospitality that Xion was showing.  When asked about where he wanted to talk, Hirru didn't really care where they talked at as he took to a chair nearby.

"I'll be fine down here.  The less stress on the legs, the better.  You know?"

Hirru said as he sat down, the entirety of his body resting in the chair making it creak slightly.  Looking around, Hirru hadn't realized that Xion had a smithy, nor did he realize his distaste of the environment, again not showing it out of hospitality.

"I didn't know you picked up the blacksmithing profession?"

  16. As everyone searched the room, Hirru sighed to the news that he was getting.  Nothing in this room, huh?  The front lines and scavengers must have picked this place clean.  Calling his team back, they reported about their current stats after leveling up.  Beoreson even equipped a new weapon, which was probably level capped for him until now.  Hirru figured that they should be fine if there was anything that happened in the next few minutes.

    "Alright, team!  Let's move out!"

Getting into formation again, they continued down several paths before coming to a deadend.  Looking at his map, they should have found a door to the next room nearby.  Searching the walls around the area, Hirru found....

    [ID : 27853] [LD: 6]

    [BD: 6] [MD: 2]

Nothing!  Nothing that could be considered a door, or anything.

"Hmm.. That's weird.  There should be a doorway here."

As soon as he said that, the sound of spawning mobs cleared the silence that would be him thinking.  Turning around, two kobolds had spawned and started towards them.  It was a trap!  One of the kobolds trained its sights on me and swung its rusty cleaver at me, but missed with a wide swing.  Taking that opportunity, I swung my sword through the space that the kobold's face occupied, before quickly backing up.

    [ID : 27855] [MD: 4]

The second one also came after me, but was repelled by my blade before it could inflict any damage.

"Team, everyone focus the one that I just hit!  Xion, focus tanking them!"

  17. Hirru was glad that Koumori was appreciative of the little things in life, and wanted to keep that going.  Also, Hirru wanted to get those dark depressing thoughts out of his head.  These factors plus the fact that Hirru is probably one of the most impatient people to ever roam Aincrad, spurred the creation of this event.  It was a pretty good plan too.  The mobs were relatively easy tier enemies with low stats, so there was no real fear of getting hurt as long as they die instantly.  Also, there was a small chance to get materials for gear, and that was always a plus.

Taking another rock from the ground, Hirru took aim and shot at another boar. This one splintered into several shards, and gave a material.

    "Point for me!"

  18. "Teleport: Town of Beginnings!"

Hirru shouted out to nothing in particular, but the system registered his action and replied in kind.  A blue field surrounded Hirru, as his vision blurred with the bright light.  A feeling of being lifted from his current position on the ground over came him.  It kind of felt like those dreams where you were infinitely falling, but after a while you would hit the ground.  Hirru hit the ground all right, as he appeared from the other side, Hirru stumbled a bit before getting his footing.  Slowly walking away from the portal, he saw Xion waiting for him.

    "Lead... on!"

He could barely stand the sickening feeling that was building up in him.

  19. Hirru was about to get some sleep when the guy started talking about throwing rocks at mobs, and enjoying life.  Something like that, as the guy named Koumori gained Hirru's respect as a common lover of the random things.  Especially the idea to throw stones at mobs.  Hirru could get behind that idea.

    [ID: 27806] [LD: 5] Nothing

Picking up a stone, he started weighing it out in his hand before taking aim at one of the pigs.  The stone began to glow and as it was thrown from his hand, it accelerated until it hit the pig.  Since these pigs were all level 1, it was instantly killed and shattered to pieces.  Grinning, Hirru turned to Koumori in an over-exaggerated announcer voice.

"Good Afternoon, Koumori!  Time for Pig Slayer!  The rules are simple: Kill the pigs, while only using a certain weapon.  Todays weapon: rocks!  Kill 10 pigs each, and the one with the most Materials wins dinner paid by the loser."

((Just roll a Loot Die, and we're going for non-combat so a 15+ LD will get you a point.))

    Hirru = 0

    Koumori = 0

  20. "I would truly enjoy that."

He said as they finally got to the gate of town.  Tapping on Xion's shoulder signaling him to let him go, Hirru slowly squatted down to see the full length of control that he currently had.  He could fully maneuver his legs for what he could tell, but it was probably better to not exert himself.  Signaling that he was fine, they continued onward.

"Well, I could tell you what little I do remember.  Especially the more recent one."

Walking through the town, they had finally reached the portal hub for all floors.  Looking at it, Hirru had to brace himself for the unsettling feeling that it gave.  Personally, he would have rather went back through the 1st Floor dungeon again, than to experience that.

  21. I've done this for my first ever RP, and the solution is quite simple.

The loot did drop, and you can keep it.  However, since you had the NPC (I'm guessing it is a player) kill the mob, you can have it so that the NPC gives you the item as they probably already have better gear than you.

It's your RP!  Play it how you would like to.

  22. Hirru would constantly remind him that it was okay whenever Xion would apologize.  It wasn't his fault that Hirru's memories were faulty and could cause problems.  Which made as little sense as anything else in this world.  What made his mind the most powerful part of his body?  Sure, it controlled the body, but could memories also control that too?  He needed to look into that more as he went along, or else there would be a time where a memory snap will happen, and he was in direct danger.

"You know, after the adventures that we've been having.  You'd think that I knew that much more about you."

His grin could be seen from a mile away, with how big it was.  As they walked, Hirru's legs started carrying their own weight, and by the time they would get to the town, he could probably support himself.  In the meantime, he had a good friend to help him.

  23. Hirru ran inside of the shop to escape the cold of this floor.  He shivered before the warmth of the inside caught up to him.  Warmth filled his body as he looked around the store that he had heard all about.  A master tailor from what he heard, but he wanted to make sure.  There were somethings that he heard about from a friend that he wanted to confirm.  One of which was if this person could actually make the armor that he had always wanted, but could never find out in the wild.

Taking a few steps inside, he found himself face to face with a little white lion cub.  It looked at him for a second before charging at him.

    *************************

Finally getting to the counter, Hirru rang the bell hoping that the owner was in.  As he did, the small lion cub continued its assault on his trouser leg.  Of course, it wasn't really doing any damage, but the durability could be decreasing for all he knew.

"Hello!  Is anyone there?  I would like to make an order?"

  24. "You were the fox all along?  I'm deeply confused?"

The fox looked at me with its soft eyes before the cloaked one appeared again.  This time, it was beside the fox instead of hiding it within its folds.  Now up close and not having the pointy end of an arrow pointed at me, I could see the visage of a young woman within the hood.  She pulled the cowl down before speaking.

"So now you know the truth.  I am the Spirit of the Forest!  One of many that patrol these lands, protecting the ones that call these woods, home."

The feminine figure flourished her arm causing the cloak to flutter showing off the arm of a slim woman.  It gestured to the whole forest as many different animals came into view.  Most were familiar, like the wolves and the rakkuns, but some were not.  There was a large dog-like one and another that seemed like a ram or a sheep of some kind.

"The forest has been our home, long before the land was torn asunder.  We have lived peacefully, away from the outside world."

Her monotone voice turned a bit colder and I could feel a bit of anger from it.

"That is, until your kind started invading our land."

    "The betas..."

    "Pardon..?"

    "My apologies!  Continue..please."

Both her fox self and her human personification looked at me strangely before stepping closer to one of the trees.  Touching it with her personified hand, her head swung back to look at me.

"Your kind began cutting down our homes, and slaughtered many families.  If it wasn't for the Great Divide, our home would have burned."

    "Great.. Divide.."

"We do not know how, but this land was never like this.  It spanned thousands of leagues in ever direction; my forest included.  Since then, your kind has stopped destroying our homes, and instead returned to your hunter ways.  Killing innocents and stealing others.  I will not allow that to continue!"

The personified figure raised the bow from seemingly nowhere, and pointed an arrow at me again.  This time, I didn't feel like moving.

"That is why, huh?  Well, I guess I have no choice."

Slowly, I raised my hands up to my hat, and took the Rakkun that was in my hat off.  I held it in my hands as it looked at me.

"Sorry, little guy, but he ride is over!  Time to get off!"

Lowering it down on the ground, it looked at me for a second before running off to a group of Rakkuns that instantly start fawning over it.  I smiled before getting back to a standing position.

    "I'm leaving!"

    [ID: 27778] [LD: 11] Nothing

I proclaim as I turned towards the direction of the nearest town.  As I passed by a tree, I heard a familiar squeak.  Looking back, I noticed the same Rakkun that had been riding on my head, for a while.  It came towards me with an object in its mouth, but it tripped and dropped the present.  Whatever it was, it shattered on contact with the floor.  The Rakkun, with saddened eyes, looked back up to me as I smile at it.

"It's okay.  It's the thought that counts!"

I said as I turned and walked away.  As I did, I started to process everything that had happened, and all the information from it.  None of it has caused any memories to pop up, but it did bring up some valuable information about the world.  This Great Divide.  It sounded important, but he needed more information about it.  Was it the event that created the environments of each floor?  He would have to say yes, but couldn't without any more information.

As I crested the edge of the forest, I had appeared near the town of Tolbana, as I originally planned.  Looking back at the forest, I thought about the Spirit of the Forest and the little Rakkun.  They had something that no other monster had before.

They had a heart, or something along the lines.

My heart seemed to tell me the same thing.

I guess we are all follow what lies within.
