After getting up and brushing himself off, Lindow sent him the party invite which the young hunter would accept causing a little health bar to appear below his own. As much as he didn't want to admit, he was hoping to get to Lindow a little more. Their only meeting was at the guild meeting which took place on this very floor. Hirru wanted to know a bit more about the older warrior. Maybe something would help him towards his own goal, or would trigger another of his memories. Though, he didn't want another accident, like with the scorpion in the desert.
Hirru listened to the explanation to their current escapade and nodded in agreement to the plan before yawning. Depending on how it went, he would probably have to bail out, if it took too long. The body could get incredibly heavy when the body is tired, but he would be able to handle until the late afternoon.
"I'm ready"
Following Lindow, he was warned about the frozen lake that they were crossing. Taking him up on his warning, Hirru kept his steps light and spread out. Even though he was pretty skinny as the body never seemed to develop past their current looks, he was never certain that an area was safe. After traveling through the floors, Hirru has learned to take each step as if it would be his last. The traps of the forest taught him that much, though, he would thank she-with-no-name for teaching him an important rule of this land.
Nothing is safe; Everything is ready

((It'll be explained more when Grave posts in the guild meeting..if he posts, but for now, it'll just be that Hirru isn't apart of the guild, but is associated with them more than others.))
The feeling of being pulled off of the ground enveloped him, and before he knew it, his feet touched down in the frost covered hub of Snowfrost. When he did, his survival skill kicked in to regulate his body temperature keeping him fairly warm. Stepping out of the hub so that others could come to the fourth floor, he was surprised by the grizzled man before him as he had just sent that message only a few minutes before warping. So much so, that he slipped on some of the ice that develops around the hub, and landed on his rear.
"Do you guys like to surprise a guy at this portal?! 'Cause that's what it seems like.."
Hirru growled out. He took another look at the one that was called Lindow. He was at the meeting with the Crimson Blades, and from his looks and demeanor was quite a veteran of life. If it wasn't for his normal looking clothing, the young hunter would have thought him an expert in swordsmanship. He shook that from his head as he got up from the ground. He shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, as this man was more than meets the eye.
-
((Just to let you know, Hirru is declining the guild offer, but is keeping in contact as most of his good friends are apart of that guild. So if you find any animosity about the guild, it's that.))
Hirru was coming back from hunting The Wasp Queen on the second floor. He was pretty tired, as the walk to and from the location where it spawns took a full day, or so. As he crested the archway into Urbus, the sun was just coming up. Hirru wondered if it took longer for the sun to come up the higher the floors go up. It was an interesting thought, and he really wanted to find out if it was true. Though, they needed to start clearing floors for that to happen, and Hirru couldn't wait to be apart of it. Ever since he hunted the Wasp Queen, he had accumulated quite a bit of STR and AGI since coming into this world as a hunter.
He reached the warp square where he would have gone back to the first floor to spend the night in the forest there, but something came up. I ringing sounded out as a small window appeared with a message.
From: Lindow
Hey buddy! Good morning! I figured we haven't had much time outside the guild to socialize. How about you come to the fourth floor, bring some warm clothing and come hunting with me. We'll split mats 50/50.
The young hunter sighed as he read the message. He didn't want any part of the guild, but still hunted with them. There ain't no rest for the wicked, he thought as he sent a reply back.
To: Lindow
From: Hirru
Alright, I'll be at the portal hub for the fourth floor. See you there.
P.S. Let's not talk about the guild.
After sending the message, he yawned before checking himself and his equipment. He wore a Wolf Pelt Vest that covered his chest, and his Kun Fur Hat sat perfectly on his head. He looked like a sword wielding Davy Crockett, whoever that was, he thought while stepping into the portal hub and spoke the magic words,
"Warp! Snowfrost!"

Actually, you are right on that part Paglikha, as any item in the battle ready slots can be a weapon / armor / item that can either be switched in or used. I'm planning my own version of that with two swords, one with paralysis and another with bleed. I don't mess around when it comes to rules. If I don't know it, I will point you towards someone that does.
Sorry for turning that into a mini discussion of inventory slots.
-
The only place where it actually shows the limit is the Extended weight limit skill. Believe me, I've searched.
Extended weight limit:
5 Ranks
Passive
Effect: Players start out with an inventory with 3 equipped items followed by 5 available slots, without the skill. They gain one extra slot per Skill Level invested in the Extended Weight Limit skill.
-
1.) There is only a limit for equipment (which is 3) and battle ready items that take a post to use (which is 5). Miscellaneous items like bread, water, and materials are unlimited.
2.) Basic Armor does not have damage mitigation as you start with GOOD tier items, which don't have enhancements. To get MIT, you need enhancements and the appropriate armor skill.
3.) Your base damage is 1 with ANYTHING. More damage is determined by enhancements and skills. So, yes, if Calrex our resident b a d a s s tried using a basic good tier polearm, he would only do 1 damage.
Also.. that boar is much harder now because our Cardinal / Dice roller is quite quirky.
-
In all technicality the site doesn't have a set rule on thrown items, you can roleplay that it probably takes a full post action to throw it, and then pick it up for your next post action. That's what I like to do, but that sometimes makes battles much more difficult.
There is supposed to be the <<Throwing Pick>> and <<Sword Throwing>> skills in the actual SAO series, but that's not supported here because it would cause way too much debate.
I also have a RP with Koumori that is using the Sword Skill mechanic of the original SAO to throw rocks at boars, and made it a game to get more Mats, but I am using the Non-combat rules for material gathering for those throws.
Since there isn't an exact skill for it here in SAO-RPG, just think that you can, but you have to go get your weapon next turn, since you can't fight with that weapon right now.
-
Well, now.. Let me recount the multitude of mobs that Hirru has killed so far:
- Boars x 3 (ALL of which nearly killed him)
- Wolves x 4 (There is a fifth, but that wolf pup is alive and adorable)
- Little Nepents x 2 (There would have been more, but the wolf pup killed them #PlotDevice)
- Rakkun x 2 (The first becoming the hat that he wears to this day. Also would have been a third.. but *see spoiler*)
- Scorpion x 1 (THE PARALYSIS HALLUCINATIONS ARE REAL!!)
- The Wasp Queen x 1 (First Field Boss Kill!!)
The third Rakkun became a second hat on top of the first...

[Base DMG = 2]Finally having enough of this Wasp Queen and the second floor in general, my sword found itself near my waist. My stance crouched down as I pulled forward. The Wasp Queen was attacking at the same time, and we collided along the way. That's when the glow of the sword that had enveloped it made its move. Pushing off, my sword made a wide slashing attack from the right side into the Wasp Queen's abdomen. From there, a quick 90 degree turn of the sword while still inside of it causing a quick stabbing attack. Afterwards, I turned around to face away as I forced my sword upwards through the Wasp Queen.
One Handed Straight Sword Skill | 3 Hit Combo | <<Savage Fulcrum>>
The Wasp Queen's wings stopped vibrating as it gave one last cry before the iconic sound of shattering glass sounded out behind me. As the light bathed the air around me, the notifications for the boss battle came up. I couldn't believe it myself, though. My first boss battle.
I had won!
Congratulations!

A potent venom from the stinger of a royal wasp. Can be applied to a weapon for extra damage.

Hello there! Welcome to SAO-RPG!
Don't worry about any grammatical failures for yourself. Everyone is mostly forgiving for anything like that. The only thing that you really have to do for us, is have fun. That's all we ask for!
I'm guessing that you are currently working on your journal right now, so I won't say much on that.
Hope to see Miria out there, and have a good one!

"Have you ever seen a huge wasp that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn? No? Me neither.."
Wait.. who was I talking to? The Wasp Queen? Myself? Maybe, but that hasn't happened in quite some time. Heck, I haven't had a single day of peace for quite some time, it must be getting to me by now. I think I need a real distraction from the adventuring, or else I'll probably go made from the voices, or something along those lines. Maybe, if this Wasp Queen could stay in one place for one second, I could do just that.
That's not how wasps work..

The Wasp Queen seemed to be swaying slightly as it flew around. It was nearly done for, but not by a long shot. It still had some fight in herself, as it lunged its stinger at me. It connected with me, and it decided to do its little pulling me into the air to throw me around. This time, I was able to get a close range <<Vertical Arc>> on the huge wasp before it threw me to the ground for a little more damage. If it wasn't for this insects health pool, the royal line of wasps would have ended with that last strike, but the Wasp Queen stood resolute with only a blip of health left.

Why yes I do. The simple fact that paralysis can be stupid OP when Cardinal actually wants to be generous. Especially when said paralysis has now become synonymous with the appearance of the Warrior Hirru and the Cranberries.
So far, Hirru's best friends are Xion and the ground CAUSE PARALYSIS IS ONE HELL OF A DRUG!!
-
Think how Yuuki's fighting stance is always in a very playful manner. That's how Hirru do. Usually keeping the arm out for balance and momentum for the sword arm. Swift movements to get in and out. He likes to get in a few hits before squirreling away. Doesn't help that he's literally dressed like Davy Crockett right now.
Though, when I finally feel like doing <<Breaking the Unbreakable>> for myself, you're going to see a lot of mixing around the two.
That's if I don't get hit by paralysis....

Sure enough, I was answered by the new barrage pattern that the Wasp Queen had now inherited. I found that it was going to be relentlessly attacking me from now on, and had to be on the defensive from now on. The Wasp Queen circled around from the last attack, and drove into me without warning; its stinger gouging through my body. I was collecting quite a few orange holes in my body by this point, and was wondering where my battle healing was.
Seriously though, where is my battle healing?! I haven't healed a single point in over the past few minutes.

Since it was on its last leg, there was one thing that it wanted to do: get rid of me once and for all. Though, I would have been intimidated by a giant wasp that had a huge stinger to poke me with, if the damage it was doing to me actually made me fear for my life. I was literally more scared with the scorpion when I couldn't remember what happened. That being said, I would definitely remember this fight, as being my first boss battle, and my first true challenge.

Hirru walked into the store of the tailor that Xion told him about. Looking around the little shop, Hirru eyed one that said that it was for treasure hunting. He would have to look into that one later, as he had a true order to make with the tailor here. After walking around for a bit, he came to the front counter of the establishment. Of course, the owner wasn't around when he need them. That's when he noticed the little order form at the counter, and thought to leave a little order to be made for later. After having done that, Hirru left, but not before eyeing that Treasure Hunter's attire as he walked by.

The moon light shown off of her fur as she finished to look back at her cub. Its wounds seemed to heal in the moon light, as if the spirits had answered her call."

Having found the strategy needed to win this battle, I continued to stalk around the Wasp Queen while it continued the erratic pattern that kept it more than swords length from me. I kept going slowly as any sharp movement would reset the queens position tracking. After some time, I was able to get to a point that the Wasp Queen would pass by again. Waiting for my chance to strike, I lunged forward with an upward strike to catch the field boss as it flew by.
With only a sliver of its health left, the Wasp Queens looked like it was on its last leg.

Hirru sighed as he listened to everyone before catching the material from Mack. From the reports that he was getting, they found three things:
- One Material of some make or variety. They would have to get someone to appraise it later on with all the other things that they got.
- A chest that held the motherlode of treasure! An arrow! That arrow found itself planted in Xions shoulder.
There was someone by the name of Xiob that needed to be nerfed
After putting the material into the party storage, he checked around the room for another way out, but there was none. They would have to go back the way they came and start heading towards the boss room. He motioned for everyone to form up on him.
"Alright, looks like that was it for this area. We're gonna call it here, and start going for the stairway to the second floor. Along the way, we may find something useful."
Getting them back into formation, they went back the way they came. As they came to the intersection that they diverged from, Hirru navigated them through a few more corridors before coming to another room. This room looked fairly large, but not as large as the boss room, from what he heard. Information told of something around here that had the potential of being 'bad for your health'.
"Everyone be careful, there may be traps in this area! Continue to look for items, but don't set off any traps!"
((I'm working on something big for the end, but for now roll dice for loot and mob. Loot to try and see the traps. MOB to see if it is activated))

Hirru didn't have to think much about that answer. There was only one place he ever went for food now-a-days. That is, if she didn't always change her menu every single time that he visited her. There was a small shack near the west end of the Town of Beginnings where a woman made a select style of food. Unfortunately, you didn't know what you were going to get when you visited, as she always changed her theme whenever Hirru visited.
"Yeah, I know a place. Dunno how you'll like it though. You may get lucky, too. Who knows."
Watching another boar shatter to bits as he played with his own rock, Hirru took aim towards another that had walked by,but at the question that Koumori gave, he missed entirely.
"Wait.. Green? Oh, I guess I didn't tell you my name. It's Hirru."

Staring at the message that was sent to him, Hirru wondered about this new situation. Coming from someone that he had gone raiding with, he was willing to meet up with them for whatever they needed. Though, if it was anything about going to higher dungeons than the 5th floor, he would have to kindly decline, as he hasn't even gotten past the 2nd floor dungeon yet. He had been a solo player for a good while now, and it had served him well lately. Though, something about going through there alone made his mind wander away from it, but once his gear that he ordered was completed, Hirru would be an unstoppable force.
Hirru stood in front of the warp gate on the second floor, dreading the news that he was going to get.
"Warp! Snowfrost!"
Appearing in the snow covered land that was the Fourth Floor, he stepped out to find quite a few others around. Most of them were fairly familiar with one or two that he didn't know just yet. Stepping out of the portal, he figured that Mack would be among them..
..until he turned to see a hulking figure in a red cloak. Jumping back, while placing his hand to his sword, he would notice the blonde haired of Mack, the one that sent out the message. Hirru took in a deep breath before exhaling harshly while staring hard at the red cloak. If it wasn't for the distinguishing golden hair that Mack was almost famous for, he would have mistaken him for Kayaba Akihiko. That, or a Game Master that finally came out of hiding.
"Why are you dressed like a GM? I almost attacked you thinking you were Kayaba himself!"

As the Wasp Queen continued on, I thought I figured out the pattern that it was flying in. Trying to position myself for just the right moment was the harder part. It would slightly change its trajectory every time I moved a long distance, so I had to shorten my steps, but I had a good rhythm going, I was able to get to a point where the Queen would pass by every so often. Taking my blade, I slashed with a fair amount of power into the Wasp Queen as it passed.
It screeched as it got to a third of its health. It was coming to the end game for it.

I wasn't ready for the next little thing that the Wasp Queen had in store for me. It twirled up into the air before aiming its stinger at me, as it usually would, but then it started spinning like a corkscrew, whatever that was. Fearing a huge amount of damage from it, I dodged out of the way, but it was able to clip my leg as it flew past. It regained itself as it continued its little erratic pattern.

Playing defensive was never a fun game, but it was definitely a better strategy than just standing around and waiting for death. It was a chance to learn something about the enemy as you dodge his moves. Or, in this case, she. I couldn't figure if it was something in my head, or the huge stinger that seemed to be hurtling towards me, but I ducked out of the way before moving to a new position. The Wasp Queen returned to her erratic pattern, if you could call it that.
The investigation into this things combat style was going horribly, but at least I wasn't getting paralyzed.

[PP-F4] A Second go to the Crystal Cavern [Hirru]
in Beginner Floors
Posted · Edited by Hirru
Upon approaching the cave, Hirru couldn't help but think how much more powerful the creatures were on this floor than on other floors. He had been exploring each one in sequence, but he has not gotten past the second floor dungeon, as he was waiting for his equipment to be made by Blue and Xion. Until then, the hunter figured that he would go out and hunt some of the bigger game that this world had to offer. Though, he did like to take small jobs on the side, like now. This was his time to socialize and try to get more information about the outside world.
As Lindow started talking about the denizens of the cave, Hirru had started thinking about what to do about them. If there was anything about this cavern, it was that it probably already got raided by the front lines. They seemed to have cleaned out the other floors and their dungeons by the time they were done. Thankfully, there were small caches that were either left behind, or never truly found. Those were his hope to find, but to do that, they needed to get past these fiends.
"They sound like quite the annoying gluttons. Let's end them before they take all the good spots!"
Pulling the Anneal Blade from its sheath as his side, Hirru followed Lindow inside. It didn't take long for them to find something to get in their way. A couple of <<Crystal Fiends>> were not very far from the entrance and were already chowing down on some crystals that jutted out from the wall. The creatures looked very humanoid in appearance, though it looked more of a crystal golem than a human being. Having only fought the rock golems of the second floor, the young hunter had no clue at what these things would do. Both of them were carrying spears that were also of some crystal build.
<<Crystal Fiend>> Hp 20 | DMG 2
Seeing them, Hirru instantly took the initiative. Running forward, he caught the first one off guard and performed a <<Horizontal Square>> on it. It screamed in pain as took notice of the young hunter and tried to stab him with the pointy end of the spear.
