  2. Violet winced, looking away from her friend with a pained expression. "I think I was a bit lost in trying to force myself to calm down." she turned back, looking into Freyd's shadows with a sad look in her eyes. "I'm going to miss her, she was certainly a one of a kind familiar. As for what happened to you during the raid..? You just melded with the shadows, and then were drawn out... I think by persi, actually!" At Wulfrin's comment about Freyd possibly being a mere Gemini, violet almost instinctively felt herself activating <<Tracking>>, her red eyes briefly shimmering a gol
  3. Violet laughed at Star's joke, shaking her head at the thought of bringing a fresh new rookie and dragging them towards one of the most dangerous activities that they actually did in this game. "What, wanna prep the kid for a boss raid this early?" she said dryly, walking towards Astra with an amused look on her face. "I'm suddenly starting to understand the mentality of throwing the kid at FTK! at least he's gonna get a good handle on how <<Switching>> works. All we gotta do is make sure Astra doesn't catch Aggro~" It wouldn't be that hard, unless they accidentally crit the boss,
  4. "Bringing a newbie to this floor is kinda dangerous, you know?" Violet had looped around the corner, an amused look on her face as she watched the three players walking through the street. "You probably need to be a little more cautious, its dangerous when you're up on the higher floors - a lot more of these guys pack an aoe punch, you know?" She approached the trio, a friendly smile on her face as she watched over them. It wasn't very common to watch a group of players drag someone new through a quest this high up - though it was apparently a common sight for Wulfrin to do so with Terra Firma
  5. Violet felt herself flinch slightly at the gentle touch of her friend, steeling herself not to squirm away. She could feel her virtual heartrate spike for a moment, before she finally managed to will herself not to react negatively. She trusted Freyd, he wasn't going to look at her any different for baring her scars. After all, she had a promise to keep, didn't she? She carefully watched Freyd and Wulfrin as they chatted, the smile she'd had earlier quietly returning. "The two of you are closer than I thought..." she said softly, tilting her head slightly, before nodding with a satisfied look
  6. Violet was still lightly trembling, her hand gripping Ember with a tightness that she hadn't expected. The fight had shaken her, badly. At first, she lingered behind the rest of her team, before slowly starting to maneuver her way up the stairs. She had to try and steel herself before she made it all the way up, though. "Just... just a little longer, violet. you can do this..!" she whispered, squeezing her eyes shut. when she opened them, the playful ember that she lit when she was out on the higher floors had returned. Not in full, but enough that her eyes still had that meager amount of vibr
  7. Violet tilted her head in Freyd's direction, a gentle smile on her face. "A temporary change, I suppose." she ruffled her fingers through her hair, the thick curls swaying slightly as she did so. "I felt like the 'Me' that roams alongside the vanguard should be different than the 'Me' that lingers below. It feels nice, though, seeing my face the way I recall it from home. Even so, some of me hasn't changed." her eyes - still the same, dulled embers that Freyd would have been used to - settled on her friend, her gaze greedily drinking in his new appearance. "You changed your look as well, it se
  8. Violet felt stuck. It was a strange feeling, being back on the lower floors again after the raid. It always was, really. It was like they were a group of soldiers that were just returning home after an arduous fight, painfully aware that they were so very different from who they were when they left. It was something that they well and truly had to get used to again. And yet, quite unlike those soldiers, they were only fighting for roughly thirty or so minutes at a time, braving the might of nightmarish creatures that could sap away their lives in a matter of mere seconds. Even then, it le
  9. "That's the spirit, Ciela. Remember that when you hit the big leagues, yeah?" Violet had a warm smile on her face as she put away Ember, allowing the fan to click into place on her shoulder holster. "No matter how your teammates might feel, what you do is utterly invaluable to our work. As long as you continue to do your best, that's all that matters." Akame had curled up onto her shoulders, the tiny dragon chirping in delight as she nuzzled into her master's hair. Violet absently twined her fingers through her friend's tail-feathers, her smile fading slightly. After Wulfrin led them thro
  10. The home stretch was finally here, and everyone seemed to be capitalizing on it just like they were supposed to. Even the noise echoing around them wasn't enough to Deter them from continuing their assault. Not even the fact that team 3 had been struck by the same attack that very nearly took Freyd and Wulfrin away. Violet tried her best to focus on her strikes, and not on how low Koga's health bar had dropped after he'd been wailed on by the beast. Everyone else was trying to beat down the bear to the best of their efforts - and slowly, but surely, the bar was starting to dip lower and l
  11. "Normally, I'd be far more upset... but I'm definitely not complaining here!" At the sight of Freyd reappearing, and almost immediately going back to snark at the boss with his usual grade-A snark, Violet switched modes from her grieving rage to a blissful relief. "Let's not do that again, yeah? Nobody here needs to get kissed by death... Except for the fugly-looking zombie bear!" The silver tears coalesced, stabbing into the bear alongside the bladed-edge of Ember, biting into Callisto's rotting skin with practiced ease. Now that they hadn't lost a friend, a fellow fighter... it was like
  12. "Gotcha, I'll clean it up!" Violet launched herself at the Fish, laughing at Freyd who had tripped over his own feet. "At least you're being a good sport about it, yeah?" Ember snapped shut, the edge glinting with a deep white-hot light that easily seared its way through any remaining defenses that the King might have had, the bladed fan sizzling as it cleanly severed its way through its body. Talk about overkill! "Either way, that's a wrap, everyone! Now we can either just chill, and enjoy the rest of our day after we turn in the quest, or we can just head back home after!" The quest bos
  13. (My dumbass forgot to denote Charge in my roll, Oop-) "Haha! I wouldn't know anymore, if I'm being honest!" she drew her fan, a Cheshire smile on her face. "Night Vision kinda renders the 'Get used to it' part a little moot, don'tcha think? But even if I had a reason to be afraid now, it'd be gone with you three standing here! Besides, what kind of light would I be if I left a single shadow behind?" Regarding the idea of NPC's and bosses remembering the names and faces of players, especially Freyd terrorizing poor Abdullah over and over again, she laughed. "
  14. A whisper, a promise, A Vow. ♫ Life was fleeting, ever so delicate. From a very, very young age, Violet had been taught that. Living in and out of a clinic her entire life, that was a fact that came easily to her. Humans were fragile, fickle creatures. Sometimes they can be powerful, strong enough to lift up a car to spare their child, enough to hold back the grasping, gnashing teeth of a beast trying to kill them. Sometimes, though, they were as fragile as spun glass. A blade ghosting across one's throat, a terrible fall, skin grinding against pavement. A single Bullet to
  15. Violet watched as the vines finally seemed to retract away from them, the lashing tendrils inflicting bleed onto most of their team - save for herself and Hirru. The furry mantle on her shoulders had absorbed the bloody mess, dissipating it before the effect could even take hold. The others weren't as lucky, though. "Stay strong everyone! Just two and a quarter left, and then this guy's down for the count!" she shouted, hurling ember forward once more. Their hard work wasn't in vain, they just had a little bit more to work through. Just a little more! "Hirru, just try to keep us all
  16. Violet grinned as Callisto's health finally began to dip below the halfway mark, celebrating internally as she charged up another sword art. After that first hiccup, now they were finally getting their money's worth with their damage. Yuki had gotten ensnared, Callisto pinning her to the ground with a roar. Ember launched forward, the bladed fan surging forward to cut through the bosses armor and health. She nodded to her teammates, her grin widening as she watched the rest of the teams moving in to help finish it off. Callisto was a worthy opponent, and he was holding on strong. It was t
  17. *Note: Hirru, bestie u put my damage boost in my EN section lmao- "Let's keep it moving, everyone! Don't hold back on this guy!" Violet hurled her weapon forward, allowing it to fly out at the boss as she turned to the rest of her teammates. Everyone was still at relatively high health, and nobody seemed to be lacking in health or energy at the given moment. Her friends on the other teams were doing well - though Freyd seemed to be taking a severe beating from the boss after it seemed to go straight for the throat, not that it was surprising (He had grabbed a rather extreme amount of
  18. *Side note: Y'all didn't seem to count my Assault mode proc during last round, so I'm including it's cooldown up here and in my lil block below :0c (AM: 1/5) Violet winced as the boss seemed to lock in on NIGHT, its claws pinning the woman to the ground. She could already see Hirru take a defensive action, alongside passing on some increased energy regeneration. "Thank you, I'll try not to waste it!" she said calmly, hurling Ember forward towards the boss. They were already cutting through almost half of its health, only a token amount left in the third bar, and the fourth was looking on-
  19. Violet realized her ears were still ringing, the faint tinge of the madness clawing at her brain. Most of her wounds had completely healed now, thanks to the concerted efforts of her teammates. Even still, the faint hisses were grating on her focus, the phantom pain of her virtual wounds making it that much harder to keep a grip on her current target. Oscar's team had been slammed with the same attack as her own team had been slapped with early on, Everyone getting hit by at least 500 damage - probably more in some cases. It was horrible, but there was nothing she could do for them other than
  20. Violet could feel her ears starting to ring, slowly getting to her feet after getting absolutely slammed by the overgrown fauna that was currently trying to rip everyone's throats out. She didn't even remember getting hit, let alone being knocked down to the floor. The only thing that had tipped her off after she'd come back from... whatever that feeling had been, was the familiar glow of someone healing her, and concern from the rest of her team. She knew that getting hit by the boss was bad news in general, but there was never a way to account for an AoE attack, not without evasion that is.
