The Pumpking

The final blows came in, and the Pumpking prepared himself. All these years of preparing, planning, gathering allies all to just fail in the end. The players were much more stronger than he had realized. As the health bar reached zero, the Pumpking's rind began to turn away from its bright orange to a sad brown as it began to lose its rigidity and slump in on itself. He took in a deep breath, as his anger build up inside him. The vines that covered the room thrashed about wildly, kicking up dust and debris. A painful screamed echoed throughout the tent as the walls of vines began to rot away, its smell filling the tent. "I'll be back!" The Pumpking screamed. "I'll be back, and all of you will suffer! ALL OF YOU! JUST YOU WAIT!" The Pumpking began to laugh loudly as his body began to melt away into nothingness.

The Pumpking staggered backwards at the swell of blows coming in and those that landed upon his body. Dust and dirt flew into the air as his large form fell into the wall of the tent. Gourdenthal merely stared at Jomei as blows came in left and right, slicing his body to pieces. "You left me, again..." It said, as it quickly disintegrated into pixels. More Jack O' Bombs spawned as a nervous vine slammed beside Hestia. The Pumpking laughed as looked upon the Ginger man in front of him. "Put me into the ground you may, but judging by the look upon your face I've already won." He said, taunting the man, letting out a low chuckle. Flames danced and traced the Pumpking's form. "I'll be dead, but your friends? They're also gone. Because you were too weak to save them. Too weak to face your fears and save them." The Pumpking slouched back. "Do it then heroes." He said, spitting out the last word. "Finish this."

The pumpking squinted at the players, how curious. Despite their bickering with one another, they seemed to care for one another. How utterly, annoying. But, perhaps this could work in his favor. A small plot formed in his head as the flames wracked around his large form. If they would not turn on eachother, he would force them to. The Jack O' Bombs received orders and took longer this time around to spawn. "Bwah ha ha ha! How heroic of you! They're your friends, of course they are. That's why they all were so worried that you'd turn so easily at the mention of joining me. What good friends they are." The Pumpking exclaimed loudly as hestia escaped from his vines. And as hestia landed, the Pumpking quickly punished Hestia with another quick vine slam. "I may not know you fully, but I understand you. And that's much more than your so called friends. In fact, I think I know your friends better than you do. Example." The Pumpking laughed as from one of the holes in the ground a hand reached up. Then another. And from one of the holes, crawled out a zombie like figure. It wielded a short dagger, and spun it around one finger. The hair matched the dusty orange of the pumpkings shell. And with a smirk to match the pumpkings, a zombie form of Lowenthal was created. The pumpking laughed hysterically as he switched his attetion back to the ginger of the fight.

"I think I did a pretty good job! Looks just like him doesn't it?" The Pumpking taunted. "I think, I did him better than he did. I mean, the original died so he couldn't have been all that great to begin with." The Zombie spoke to Jomei, pointing a kunai at him. "You let me die Jomei. When I needed you, you vanished. Everyone vanished. You did this to me. You let me die." The Pumpking gave the modified Jack O' Bomb a quizzical look. Strange, he hadn't told it to speak, but it was all fine in the end. It antagonized this, Jomei, and that was alright with him.

The Pumpking laughed aloud as his children were slain, only for more to grow stronger than the rest. "Yes, please! Waste your time with dealing with my children! It only makes you tired." Large vines slammed into Hestia's shield, knocking her to the ground. Vines wrapping around her again as she was yanked into the air, held only a few feet away from the Pumpking's frightening visage. "A king I be, and strike you when I want. All of this, is for my amusement. I want you hopeless." He turned Hestia around to look at the party below. "Look at them, the infighting will begin soon. They wanted to wait for my shell to weaken before striking, and that one there. The other female. She, would be wonderful in my court. She's ruthless, and cruel. She would make a fine warrior within my court. And that one, the wanna be samurai. He only struck me after giving the female a look of annoyance. It's only a matter of time." And with that said, he hid Hestia back into the shadows of the big top.

"You there, female clad in black." He said, motioning a small vine towards Zandra. "I offer you a bargain. Turn on your friends here, help me slay them. And I'll have the power to give you whatever you desire. Be it fame, or fortune. A place to be free of these restrictions of social stigma. Be who you are want to be, not held back by those around you." The Pumpking offered.

Grappled: Being grappled removes all of your hate until you are let go, in which case all hate you previously had is returned along with any extra hate you accumulated. When grappled you may make one of three actions:
Attack: You automatically hit(no crit, no DoT's) and deal Base Damage x 5 damage.
Break Free: Make a BD roll on a 4+ you break free and return. 2 or 3 you remain grappled. 1 you are thrown against the ground taking 200 unmitigable damage and losing 3 hate.
Do Nothing: Do nothing.

Various blades cut into him, but more notably the female's axe had barely done any damage to his rind. But they were starting to catch on, but unless they could read his thoughts he wasn't going to let them know that. The pumpking laughed as the last Jack O' Bomb was slain. "Oh please, was that attack supposed to be something scary?" His vines half heartedly slammed into the ground beside Hestia. The pumpking let out a loud whistle, and three more Jack O' Bombs spawned from the ground. "More little children for you to play with!" The pumpking laughed as they threatened to make him into a pie. "Perhaps, I will make you all into a pie after this! Such a wonderful idea!" The Pumpking chuckled as his eyes mewled over the players. "Yes! Strategize, plan an attack, execute it. And when it fails, it will make my victory all that much more sweeter." He laughed again.

Two attacks took out two of his poor little children. Poor things, they hardly had a chance to shine. But it was nice to see those humans flailing about trying to discover what did what, or why he did anything. He did everything for them. He did all of this, because of them. A screech could be heard from the far end of the tent. A flash of concern washed over the Pumpking, knowing that the humans had defeated Scarecrow. He knew that it was most likely outcome, but to happen so soon was, unaccounted. He glared back at the players before him, raising a large vine and slamming it into the ground missing Hestia by mere inches. "Tsk tsk! How are you supposed to die when you keep moving out of the way?" The Pumpking taunted, retrieving his vine. He couldn't hold it any longer, and let out a loud gasp of air as his rind returned to its normal thickness. "Oh me oh my, It seems I've returned to normal. What will do, what will we do?" He taunted more.

The Pumpking giggled, and stammered in a cocky voice. "Ou hu hu, what happened to all your bravado little ones? Finding my hide to be a bit more tougher this time around?" It taunted. Various blows came in, but once again it only made him stronger, more durable. The vines wriggled again moving with blinding speed. A vine the size of a tree slammed hard down into Hestia knocking the shield just out of the way for a moment. Long enough for the pumpking to work on a new trick. Smaller vines wrapped around Hestia's arm, then her legs, then her body and hoisted her into the air dangling her as high as he could get her. "Bwah ha ha! Now that this annoying pest is preoccupied, perhaps they can work with you a bit while I get myself more ready!" The Pumpking laughed as tiny jack o lanterns burst forth from the ground. Tiny pumpkins, each one carved with a devilish face with their stems above emitting sparks from their tips. The Pumpking cackled even louder than before. "Go on my little pets, have a blast!" He giggled out, before turning a seeding eye towards Macradon.

The Pumpking giggled. "Waste of space? Why, try harder with your insults if you want to push my buttons!" That woman looked tasty, delicious. The Pumpking just couldn't wait to swallow her, crunch her bones between his teeth, and savor every last bit. The warriors began to pile on and one, devastating attack after devastating attack. He called out Jomei again. "Yes! Get angry! It will make my victory so much more sweet when you all perish!" And with dealing with the attacks he knew better from last time. He planned this time. He knew what the patterns of attacks would be, and he knew what was going to come and he readied his body. And after all of the attacks, the effects, and the damage. The pumpking laughed as he shined a mighty and sickly green as his rind grew and grew, thicker and thicker. "See if you can get past this!" He taunted, raising his vines to attack the loud mouth tank warrior. The vines slamming against her and her shield, slamming her into the earthen floor of the tent dust flying everywhere. Pointed vines slammed into the ground under the cover of the dust leaving three small punctures into the ground. "I'm gonna win!" The pumpking giggled aloud.

His eyes scanned the room, looking, waiting. And soon enough, a tuft of orange appeared. The green of his eyes turned darker as he recognized the man. "YOU!" It screeched, it's voice piercing the very ground itself shaking it. "I remember you. You think the great PUMPKING would forget?" It screamed as vines thwipped and thrashed around. But soon the thrashing ended, and an eerie sense of calm washed over the great and mighty gourd. "But alas. You are alone. No blue wonder to save you from my wrath, no blonde warrior to cut them down, and no other orange-haired ones cheering about the place simply because they managed to ruin my perfectly good rine." The Pumpking said in a mockingly sad tone. "Where are they now I wonder?" It pondered wanting to tease the ginger further. "Did they leave you behind when they saw how weak you were?" Its vines moved closer. "Oh! Perhaps they ran away in fear of me!" The vines moved closer and closer still. "Or perhaps," The Pumpking took a long pause. "Perhaps they're dead." The Pumpking noted the look upon the warrior's face. Its eyes changed shape to express its happiness as a loud joyous laugh rang about the tent. "OH YES! Tell me all about it!" It cried out in delight. "How did they die? Was it worth it? Did you try to save them? Could you have saved them? Were their deaths quick? Did you betray them?" The Pumpking began to assault him over and over again with questions and questions still. And before the warrior could respond, the Pumpking would wipe away a seed from the corner of its eye. "No matter. Be thee alive, or be thee dead the fact that you are alone is the same. And these, friends around you. How long will they last I wonder? I know you wonder too." It goaded one last time before striking with its massive vines.

The Players:

xxxxxx The eyes of the Pumpking swelled with delight. "Well, oh me oh my. It would seem that I have grown fat in power in these last few years." The large pumpkin said, taking delight with his newfound size. "Oh, and it seems that the weaker ones cannot get by my little vines. Shame you're all alone now." He said, taking in even more delight. "Ohhhhh how I've longed for this day. How I've wished, and I've prayed that this day would come. That I would seek my vengeance upon you all once more." His eyes looked around. "But what's this? Where's the blonde warrior with two blades? The red-haired one made of fire?" He asked, before coming to a conclusion. "I see, they must have abandoned you all to your fate here, from fear of me!" The pumpking let out a mighty laugh that shook the very ground. "Well, let's make this a great show!" The pumpking cried, readying itself for battle.

1. Potions and Food items are not allowed to be used. Consumables MUST be purchased from the Concessions stand. (See Spoiler a.)
2. You may only participate in your relevant tier. No slumming.
3. Players will have until November 1st to post to this thread. On that date, the boss will begin.
4. You MUST list your stats, equipment, battle-ready inventory, skills, buffs, and consumed items in your post.
