  1. Watching the Shadow punch and jab and break the mobs in front of her was a sad sight to Katoka. She could tell that they were in some sort of pain, real or not. These things, these glitched and broken mobs didn't deserve such a fate. It was a mercy to put them out of their misery. The samurai stepped into a new stance, one not terribly different from the previous. With three graceful bounding steps she closed the distance between her and the Dryads just before we blade went to work once more. Now an orange light from her katana flashed as she hacked and slashed and chopped at the creature
  2. "I'm not looking forward to what comes next, I can tell you that." Kat once again readied the same sword art, this time only needing to dance between two opponents. She was not as skilled with her AoE arts, but she wanted to be damn sure she didn't miss. Closing the distance between her and the Wealds took no time, she was there in the blink of an eye between the two tree creatures. Her sword looked as though ti was gliding through the air in a figure eight motion as she followed through with her attack. The two abominations jerked and spasmed in response to her attack just before t

  4. Her sword was already drawn the second the trees in the forest began to move. Katoka felt herself tense up in response to the enemies that emerged from their originally rooted positions. Once the creatures came into view she tilted her head to the side a bit as she observed the tree mobs. They had what looked like multiple faces in the bark, as well in exposed spots where the bark had been tripped for crumbled off. The faces were what really got her attention. They looked like they were in agony, wailing and moaning in what looked like silence. It didn't take long for her eyes to be drawn to w
  5. Yet another head. At this rate they would need to each fight their own separate heads, if it had that many. "I really hope it doesn't have that many." As they all continued their onslaught of attacks it seemed as though progress was being made. If only they could see it's health bar, that was the most annoying part of this fight. Other than the multiple heads of course. "Rinse and repeat, time to slap the tin head!" Katoka called, advancing to her target. She passed Hirru as he put on display his magnificent green thumb. "Holy hell, is that a whole tree?!" Leaping into the air Kat br
  6. Katoka blinked several times at the fallen tree that had crushed Kumatetsu. She turned to her friend and watched him wave at her, she continued to blink. "Wh--What the hell was that?! A tree?" she couldn't contain her laughter after than. Freyd had dropped a tree on a giant bear, crushing it like a looney tunes character. She was surprised there wasn't a bear shaped hole in the ground at that point. "Well, that's that I suppose. I assume they will get harder as we go along?" she returned her katana to it's sheath and stepped around the tree. "I wonder if this clearing will get used again.
  7. "I swear if you come across some kind of animal poop and taste it to find out what it came from I'm going to leave." Katoka laughed as she watched Freyd crawl around on the ground. She knew it was all for show but it was amusing nonetheless. As the two made their way through the forest the trees seemed to grow thicker and taller, the forest here was definitely older and less travelled. Aside from the road itself you would have thought that there was no sign of civilization at all. Kat's hand drifted to her weapon, resting on the handle reflexively. Something was beginning to make her feel
  8. The ice walls had fallen, their designated head felled. Katoka set her sights once again on Wushen. She fell into the familiar rhythm that this raid had settled into, attack and keep attacking. That's all they really could do at this point. The samurai closed the distance in no time flat, her katana shining a bright and brilliant blue as her sword art gathered it's energy. She let out a yell as her arm swung seemingly on it's own, the blade tearing into virtual flesh once again. Kat hoped that they were making progress. That their efforts wouldn't remain in vain and that this creature wou
  9. Katoka had nearly fallen off the couch when she read Freyd's message. The picture alone was enough to send her running up to her wardrobe to rummage around for her swimsuit. With as much quest grinding as they had been doing, she hadn't had the time to brew up enough potions to bring along. Instead she opted to get there as quickly as possible, and that's exactly what she did. Running full sprint to the teleport gate and then racing as quickly as she could through the muck and mire to he coordinates that she had been sent. When she finally arrived, Kat was breathing heavily, a beach bag o
  10. "Well well well, you didn't tell me you were into drag Freyd." Kat smirked. She was initially very confused as to who the woman was that was speaking to her, but now it made a bit more sense. "I'm sure Elora would get a kick out of that, show her you can be an elf too." She playfully elbowed him in the ribs as she walked past. His mention of the bugged content made her uneasy, but she felt more prepared this time now that they had a few consumables used. Katoka wondered how much more Cardinal had to hide behind closed doors. How many glitched areas and malfunctioning mobs there were that

  12. The sight of Wushen sprouting three new heads took Katoka by surprise at first, but that was quickly replaced by the panic of being separated from the other groups by walls of ice. She looked around quickly and saw that she was still with her party and let the moment of weakness pass. She adjusted the grip on her sword and turned her focus to the new head that spawned. By the looks of it the main body was invulnerable for the time being, so she charged forward to hit this green head with her strongest sword art to see how well it took a hit. The samurai leapt up as Mina had finished her s
  13. The radiant city of Ellesmera was a sight to behold. It's elegantly crafted buildings that seemed to be as natural as the trees in the surrounding forest were always fun to explore. Katoka leaned against the railing of a bridge that crossed the river fed by the grand waterfall that the city was built up against. She was inspecting the tablet that her and Freyd had retrieved from their last quest, the one that lad then led them deep under Floor one and into the many arms of a monstrosity accidentally created by Cardinal. A shiver creeped it's way down her spine as she thought about the cre
  14. Katoka held back a laugh at Nari's jabs at Mina, she was beginning to warm up to this lot. She returned her sword to it's sheath at her side and brushed herself off, inspecting herself for any injuries she may have missed. She then approached Morningstar, "Nice work in there, I think we worked pretty well together." she patted him on the shoulder, "I look forward to fighting with you in the raid." The group made their way out of the temple and back onto the path they had originally taken, their goal now turning to recovering while on the hunt for the local field boss. Kat was excited, she
  15. "Right, let's do it the right way this time." Katoka shifted her stance, bringing her katana into a form she hadn't really practiced much. Holding her weapon with one hand and placing the other on the pommel to reinforce the strike she was about to attempt. Her blade began to give of an orange light, her body remaining still as she focused on her opponent. As she watched Freyd strike the boss once again she saw it stumble, just for a moment, and that was when she made her move. She burst forward, driving her katana deep into Guudgog's ribs. Her attack had finally hit it's mark, a gus
  16. It never ceased to amaze Kat when Freyd would absolutely obliterate an enemy. She knew that this was the first floor and that the mobs here were usually pretty weak, at least in comparison to them all now, but it was still a surprise regardless. Just one hit and he had killed a dragon, "I wonder if the rest of these guys will be that easy." she thought to herself. Snapping back to the moment Katoka rushed to Elora's side, opening her inventory to grab a potion. "Hang on, one of these should be plenty for this little guy." she popped the cork with a satisfying thunk and offered it to the y
  17. Her pride had taken a hit just as hard as she had physically, but she wasn't ready to back down just yet. Adjusting her grip in her weapon Kat nodded to Freyd as he patted her shoulder, she needed to find an opening and carve a piece of this thing herself. She set off in a full sprint, dropping down into a slide as it swung it's tail at her briefly. Her sword let off it's usual blue light, but she realized too late that she had charged the wrong sword art. She was so used to her single target attacks that it was reflex at this point. Had she even used shatter before? Her hesitance transla
  18. "Wait, what?" Kat was confused as Mina was the brunt of Wushen's attack, "Damn, I was ready and--" A shockwave of fire splashed into the lot of them. Katoka attempted block the attack with her sword but she was still hit with the brunt of it, her clothes smoking and a DoT appearing next to her health bar. "Shit, wasn't ready for that." She glanced around at the other groups as they were also hit with different elemental based attacks. "What was the monologue from? Freyd said something about Ronbaru?" she clicked her tongue in frustration. She hadn't taken part in those quests so she knew
  19. Good, he was cracking jokes, at least that would lighten the mood just a tad. "IT'S HARD TO HIT AN 8 FOOT TALL EYEBALL CHESTED CENTAUR LIZARD OK?" Katoka watched as their opponent turned and thrashed about the room, smashing into walls and gouging out chunks of stone with it's hands and tossing them about in a random attempt to hit something or anything. "What the hell is this thing doing?" she asked, as she slid on a patch of moss that she haphazardly stepped on. If she hadn't already been charging her next sword art she might have been able to recover in time, but unfortunately the syst
  20. Katoka made a mental note to never get trapped in the no no zone of SAO. It made hell sound like a vacation spot worth visiting. She watched as Freyd punched a hole into the monster, but that didn't seem to slow it down. Her sight turned to it's tail, which might serve as more than just decoration to the monster. Most animals with tails used them for balance, and if they could knock it off balance then maybe it would be easier to deal with. "I'm going to try and dock it's tail!" she called to her companion, rushing in to sever the long appendage. As she was bringing her blade down the ama
  21. Her attempts to feign confidence seemed to have no effect. Freyd was on edge more than she had ever seen before. The tension in the air was thick enough to smother them. "The thought of being trapped somewhere like that, somewhere that you're not supposed to be or even be able to get to. It's terrifying." Kat felt her eyes darting around frantically, trying to keep as much of the room in her field of view as possible. She felt small again, like she was level one and had gotten trapped in a dungeon with no way out. She opened her mouth to say something again but felt her skin prickle, it w
  22. The boss's health bars flickered away as Katoka's effect on them wore off. She clicked her tongue in frustration, "Not so fast danger noodle." Her sword began to glow once more, this time she held it low as she ran at the monstrous form of her opponent as it undulated and moved through the air. Once again electricity crackled and gathered around her as she advanced, her body turning into a blur as she leapt once again into the air. She swung Raijin's Corruption, a clap of thunder sounding as the blade connected with the digital flesh of the dragon. The cold metal dug into the mesh, leavin
  23. "I--I don't think it got me." she managed after a moment to catch her breath. Whatever those things were had not been what scared her, it was Freyd's reaction to them. If something had frightened him? That was something to be worried about. "How do you know about these things? What happened with them to have scared you so much?" she looked at him with genuine concern. As he looed around the room Katoka did much of the same, she didn't want to be taken off guard by those things next time. "I assume the boss isn't going to be anything pretty either then?" she attempted to insert a bit of hu
  24. That last attack had actually helped it seemed. The looming dread Kat had been feeling while being unsure of their enemy's health pool was quickly replaced with shock at the sight of six health bars. Thankfully they had depleted the first and were entering the second by this point, at this rate they could potentially hit his half health mark soon. The dragon turned hit attention to Freyd and attacked, this time hitting his mark. She took a step forward in concern but she saw his HP bar barely move. Katoka let loose a sigh of relief, she knew that he wouldn't be tanking without being able
