  1. The cave, while well lit, still set Katoka's nerves on edge. Her mind jumped quickly to the wolves that she had dealt with in the Fire Forest and she felt a chill run down her spine. Things would be... Different this time. She had Freyd with her after all. Taking a deep breath the samurai pushed her fear and anxiety aside before consuming a few items. Between mouthfuls she asked, "What's the game plan here? Same as usual I assume or should we be more cautious with the possibility of undying mobs?" If these people were performing experiments on these creatures, what was their actual goal?
  2. "Hmmm, Hannah." Katoka crossed her arms as she attempted to remember the woman in question. Her mind rewound itself back to her first few quests, to her awkward conversations with Ruler. "Oh yeah, she was that painter right?" It seemed like it was years ago that she had been fighting alongside the blonde knight. "Let's see if I can remember how to get back to her." Kat stood and motioned for Freyd to follow, "Let me know if you remember a quicker path." As the two traversed their way through the city, Katoka was lost in thought. What would posses people to murder people? What would m
  3. Katoka's head whipped around to face Elora "It's not that I couldn't trust you, I just couldn't bring myself to admit to anyone that things were bad." she shook her head, "I felt like, like if I didn't talk about it out loud to anyone that the problem would just... go away I guess." deep down she knew that wasn't the case at all, however her mind at the time was just trying to cope with everything in a way that she could process. Wrapping her arms around her knees as she pulled her legs up to herself, Kat let out a half sob half laugh, "It's absolute horseshit that thousands of children a
  4. The walk up the steps to the next floor had been a quiet one. Nothing but the sound of echoing footsteps filled Katoka's ears as the frontliners ascended to the location that they had fought so hard to open up to everyone, only to find themselves in a desolate and eerie town. The lot of them seemed to spread out, ready to inspect the storefronts and find a local NPC to converse with, but there was nothing. The only people there were the lot of them. Kat felt the hair on the pack of neck stand up as she saw an odd shape move into a local alleyway out of sight. She turned to the others and
  5. The end was in sight. A smirk tugged at the corner of Katoka's mouth as she readied her blade, the cool steal beginning to glow with the light of her sword art. She sprinted through the muck and the mire, using whatever footholds she could find in order to prevent slipping and face planting into the disgusting ground beneath her. The blonde promised herself a nice long bath once this was done so she could wash away the dirt that seemed to have gathered in places she didn't know it could get. As she approached the bear she nearly stopped in her tracks she she swore she could hear the
  6. The roar of battle all but faded from Katoka's ears as a fury induced tinnitus set in. There was no longer a sounds of shouts, weapons striking flesh and bone, bellows of hatred, even the sound of her own voice was drowned out. There was only the long and unending whine of silence. Then it caught her eye. The various lights and pieces that had once been Freyd gathers, swirling, reforming into the shape of her friend, albeit with a new hairdo. She froze as she wretched her weapon free from the rotten flesh of her foe. Was she seeing things? Surly it would take a lot more for her mind
  7. Once Astralin managed to take care of the remaining overgrowth that had been holding the party back, Kat nodded to her in thanks before turning her attention back to Callisto. Just in time to watch as Freyd pulled Wulfrin out of the line of fire. She felt her heartbeat quicken as time seemed to slow down around her. Surely something like that wouldn't leave more than a scratch on him. Katoka watched as his health dropped. The little bar going from green, to yellow, and then red faster than she could process. And then the man that was a brother to her in all but blood shattered into a thou
  8. They were doing it. The end was in sight. If things went according to plan they could all get home safe and sound. Kat grinned at Koga, they had taken a substantial chunk out of the beast. Her smile quickly faded as she felt a tug at her ankles. Looking down she felt her blood run cold as various vines snaked up her legs and griped her tightly. She tugged and twisted, in an attempt to pull herself free. "Damn, this might be a problem." she grumbled, looking to her party members and seeing that they too were rooted to the ground. Using her sword she attempted to hack and slash at the
  9. Taking the time to take in the sights, Katoka felt her self smiling as she walked around Ronbaru. She didn't spend much time on this floor aside from fighting Wushen, therefore she enjoyed this event much more. She found herself thinking back to the first event she had stepped into. Tanabata had seemed like it was so long ago. Kat saw Freyd at one point, she said her hellos and exchanged pleasantries with one of her closest friends before she made an excuse to slip back into the crowd. She saw more people that the recognized here and there, waving, talking, enjoying themselves. This eveni
  10. A smirk had pulled at the corners of Katoka's mouth. Koga had driven his sword into the trunk of the nearby tree, calling her attention to it just before the flesh seemed to fall off of Callisto's body. A fog rolled in quicker than anything that she had ever witnessed before, obscuring her vision and wreathing their target in a blanket that hid the massive creature from all. Most in this situation would have been confused, staggering about with no indication of where to go. Kat however had already locked her eyes on her target. Dashing forward she punched through the fog, leaving a t
  11. The samurai felt some of her energy return with Astralin's help. She flashed the girl a cocky grin and gave her a thumbs up, "Thanks for the top off, I needed a bit of a boost." Turning her attention back to the bear at hand, her smile faltered a bit. She had hit the thing with a strike that felt stronger than anything she had done in the past, but thanks to whatever abilities it had the number ticked down to a measly 750. Katoka felt her upper lip quiver ever so slightly into the makings of a snarl. She didn't like when her prey had tricks up their sleeves. Kat blinked for a moment
  12. A lumbering mass of rotten flesh and bone charged it's way towards the groups of players with the same force as an out of control dump truck. The great beast was trying it's damnedest to run them all over, flatten them into meat pancakes. They were all too smart to remain in its way. Katoka positioned herself out of the path of destruction as Callisto bulldozed passed. IT was then that she saw a brief opportunity to strike. Calling on the primal hunger of her weapon once again, she rushed forward. Energy crackling around her in dark bolts of electricity as she used a large rock as a ramp,
  13. It had happened seemingly in an instant. Distracted by the creatures health bar dropping, the Cerulean Storm was hit by a swing of Callisto's massive paw. The impact sent her body soaring back, skipping across the mud and pools of festering water before slamming into the long dead carcass of a tree. Her health bar dropped rapidly, dipping into the red and sending her heart racing. She had thought for a moment that it wasn't going to stop and that she was done. As shards of broken wood and dust rained down around her Katoka stood up with a groan and attempted to brush herself off. As
  14. Katoka had let out a chuckle at Koga's response to her yelling. Her amusement however had been short lived. The blonde watched in horror as the great beast attacked the other parties before picking up Alkor right in front of them and running off like a dog with something it shouldn't have in its mouth. For a brief moment she stood there stunned, the ridiculousness of it all stupefying her. Everything seemed to rush back into focus all at once as she snapped back into reality. Whipping her head from side to side she assessed her surroundings before taking off at a full sprint. "Damnit, I n
  15. As the four groups entered the boss room something happened that Katoka had not imagined. The smell got even worse. Had she had more fabric to her clothing she would have pulled it over her nose. Her cleavage was now more than just a pain in her back, it was now a pain in her ass. Wrinkling her nose she took in the sight of the colossal beast that stood between them and the next floor. Her jaw dropped and she quickly turned to her party members, "I fucking called it!" quickly looking back she pointed and yelled so the other groups could hear, "I CALLED IT! IT'S A BEAR DEN!" A grin spread
  16. The smell of the entrance to the boss room had informed Katoka that she had indeed found the right spot. That, and the gathering of other players of course. Seeing a few familiar faces she waved at Freyd and Wulfrin. It looked like the new addition to the front lines was on the verge of throwing up, whether from the smell or nerves she wasn't sure. The blonde gave a quick nod to Mac as well as NIGHT as she searched for her group. While it seemed like not everyone had quite arrived yet, there were still quite a few people there already. Seeing Morningstar sitting on a tree stump off to the

  19. Taking a sip from a nearby mug, Katoka smirked at the tray of potions in front of her. If Freyd hadn't dropped of the care package of various teas with his order she might have given him more of a hard time. Getting together large orders like this always made her exhausted, but a nice warm cup of tea gave her the energy she needed to power through. Once she finished the mug she placed it on the work table in front of her before she picked up the tray of bottles, making her way to the front of the shop to place it in what had now become the Whisper's designated pick up cubby. "A job well d
