  1. Yona continued keeping her eyes on her opponent. "Lucky hit..." She remarked. "But that's the best you'll ever do." She then rushed towards her opponent and sidestepped to the left. Then she swung once, but then she pulled her weapon back before it reached her enemy, and when the Ancient Guardian was swinging his weapon in the wrong direction, Yona unleashed her sword art, striking him with a considerable amount of force. The Ancient Guardian staggered back a meter and a half. Now considering Yona to be an actual threat, the Ancient Guardian attempted to change tactics, for he was unwilli
  2. Yona darted around the room, and the enemy kept its gaze on Yona. Maybe darting around at a closer proximity might do the trick. Yona rushed towards the enemy, then suddenly sidestepped to the left before activating her sword art in the direction of the Ancient Guardian's flank. The attack hit, and a fair portion of damage, just over a quarter of the enemy's HP was depleted. So, this was one of those kinds of enemies, then. Before Yona had a chance to react, however, the Ancient Guardian struck back, with enough force to send Yona flying. Well, she was alive, and she didn't take too much
  3. Just because Yona had gotten her weapon back, didn't mean this was any easier than before. Her opponent was still skilled, and this would be no cakewalk. Once again, weapons would collide again and again. Yona would try a different tactic other than a lunging thrust. Granted what she tried was a lunging slash, but the difference might make it more difficult to deflect this time. Nope, the Ancient Guardian managed to sidestep away from Yona's attack, just barely, and then it moved in to attack again. Yona blocked the attack, and the two combatants' blades were in lock for about eight seconds. T
  4. Yona had to get her weapon back, someway, somehow. And she had to do it fast, because she was still in the middle of a fight...and it was unlikely that her enemy, the Ancient Guardian, would show mercy or a sense of honor that would keep him from attacking a disarmed opponent. Yona rolled to the side as the Ancient Guardian, as expected, attempted to slash at her with his weapon. She ran straight for her weapon, but something snagged her foot and tripped her. She turned to her left to see within her peripheral vision, a weapon coming down on her. She rolled to the side, barely dodging the
  5. "Crystal clear." Yona replied, before drawing her weapon. "So let's keep this short and sweet then, shall we?" The Undead warrior got up, and pulled his blade out of the ground. "If you so insist..." He sighed, irritated. The two would clash their blades upon rushing towards each other. Yona paid attention to her enemy, his name displayed as <<Ancient Guardian>>. Was this the "Appointed Guardian" the statue's plaque had spoken of? He had to have been, He was a skilled foe, and Yona could tell. The two clashed and deflected each others' weapons for about twelve seconds, be
  6. Finally, someone who acts like a decent person! "Me? I'm Yona." Yona answered. The undead would speak again. "Hmm...well then, 'Yona'...tell me, why are you here?" He asked. "Well, I kind of stumbled upon this place, it just rose out of the sand. So...I'm kind of here to investigate, figure out what's going on." Yona claimed. The undead's expression, or what was left of its shriveled form, was grim. "So then...the seal must have been undone...the others were never told of what awaited them when they chose to guard this place...that they would be sealed with it." The undead warrior stated.
  7. The hall ended with a set of stairs leading down into the last room. Yona walked down the steps, and would eventually see the entirety of the room. It was almost as big as the first story of the structure, grand and in a cone shape in terms of width. At the end of the wall was a much larger symbol, one that seemed to depict a shadow of sorts, like it was spinning in a circle and its tiny claw-like things were ready to grasp at something...hmm... Yona continued walking forward, seeing much crumbled stone along the way, and she saw a simple stone armchair with a place for a weapon besi
  8. It was a large, Ancient-looking treasure chest hewn from sandstone, and when Yona opened it up, it sure was loaded. A weapon, a set of cloth armor, and even two consumables, all in prime condition, to boot. Yona stared at the results. This was either Game Logic, or this chest had some kind of unparalleled preserving ability. "Looks like I've gotten quite a haul on this trip, so even if I can't figure out whatever this is, at least it wouldn't have been a waste of my time..." Yona thought aloud. Well, there was nothing left to do in what Yona had confirmed was some kind of treasure room. "
  9. With that, Yona considered searching in the next room. This was the last of the rooms within the sides of the hall, and it's symbol seemed to have the impression that it was only going to get larger, based on a hand with a whole lot in its palm. What strange symbols...and why did these even live beyond the murals and carvings? Were these symbols made of some kind of special material or something? What even made these what they were? Now Yona really had to think here. What were these symbols and what did they mean? Why was there next to nothing as to what she could guess, other than s
  10. Yona began to think of all that's happened so far. So far, she'd seen what was some kind of grand hall, a spiral staircase leading downward, a smaller hall with seven rooms attached, and Yona had seen five of them...the five rooms were clearly crumbling due to the toll that time takes on all things, and so were the objects within. The murals and carvings were still too worn for Yona to make very much out of what she saw. Remains of shapes, maybe a color or two... "Ugh, why is it all such a mystery? Can't the game just tell it to me straight or something?" She thought aloud, upset that all
  11. Stone table, stone seating....and whatever crumbling, broken remains of things were littered on the table. Was this a meeting room or a dining hall? With no clear answer, Yona left the room. Yona would continue looking around to see the rooms of this old structure. The next one she would enter had several stands for statues, but eight of them were missing their statues, only having crumbled stone in their place. There were two things that stood out. The symbol, which seemed to be unusual, also seemed to draw...lots of attention to it...how strange... There also seemed to be a stand c
  12. Yona moved on to the next room, and once inside, she would see a stone table, and a large one at that. The symbol at the end, this time, carried the unusual illusion that it was bringing things in, like it was sucking in whatever might get too close to it...of course, the fact that it was kind of two dimensional, and the fact that there was a stone seat in front of it, was proof that indeed, it was just a symbol of sorts. Yona then saw that there were more decayed corpses here, and that probably meant one thing... As expected by this point, cursors appeared over the Ancient Sentries, and
  13. Yona decided to take a moment to dwell on what she'd seen so far. She'd seen a hall, a lower hall, three rooms with odd symbols, two of which she was able to guess what kinds of rooms they were, in which one was sleeping quarters, and the other was...perhaps a training room. With the stone beds in one room and a weapon-filled room with a training dummy and the remains of a sparring mat, it would kinda make sense if it was a training room, maybe even a tiny barracks of some kind. For it to be a tiny base of sorts...it might make sense? But then, what sealed it up, unless it was some kind o
  14. Yona sure hoped this wasn't some ancient cultist hideout...but then, why were the enemies she faced called Ancient Sentries instead of Ancient Cultists? Something was up, something was going on here...but Yona couldn't quite place it. She would move on to the next room, and find...a bunch of rusty old weapons...and maybe the remains of a sparring mat...as well as the decayed remains of what must have been a training dummy. Yona walked up to the dummy, and poked at it. Poof, it crumbled into splinters and shattered. The results would probably be similar with those rusty weapons, but Y
  15. What strange ruins these seemed to be. As Yona moved on to the next room, she would see...well, crumbling stone. Maybe what looked like something that used to be precious, too. Whatever these objects, and the remains of objects were, they didn't seem to be of any use or value to Yona. At the back of this room seemed to be a symbol of sorts...it was...different than the one over in the room she'd previously been in. The one she'd been in before seemed to appear strange yet relaxing, this one appeared odd, yet...oh, how would she put it? It was like an oddity, mixed together with a rose and
  16. My, my...this opponent was proving himself time and again. Just how did that blonde even beat him? Granted, the Blunet hadn't even landed a single blow against Yona, but the fact that he managed to get by her tactics was something...definitely something. Any less of an opponent would have been an insult. The Blunet crouched down to avoid the attack, then he quickly turned around and leaped into the air for a rising guillotine attack. Yona jumped back, and timed her thrust to strike just after her opponent had landed. "Nice try." She remarked with a seemingly sinister grin. She now ha
  17. The Blunet was catching on to Yona's tactics quicker than anticipated. As soon as Yona feinted her attack, her real one was deflected. Her eyes widened as her opponent attempted to parry her attack, trying to turn it against her. As soon as the wooden training weapons were separated, Yona took a defensive stance and swatted away the attempted attack. "Heh...not bad..." Yona complimented with a smirk. So, this was the opponent Astralin had defeated? Guess she underestimated the blonde, this opponent knew what he was doing. She was up against another skilled opponent, and that was both a bl
  18. What even was anything anymore? This whole party had been a double edged blade, but there seemed to be more negative than positive. Everything was set up by the host for a good time, from what Yona could guess, but there just had to be a few bozos who either didn't know what the hell they were doing, or didn't care about the effects of their actions. "What's your deal? Just like eating things off the floor?" The drunkard called out to Yona. Yona pulled out the other item from her inventory as she stared daggers at him, and while he was distracted in conversation with Astralin, Yona w
  19. Yona had been waiting for this opportunity...though it came later than expected. At least while she waited, she had what was basically a front-row position to see the action. Now the challenged player had arrived. Yona turned to see her opponent, who said he was ready when she was. She lifted her wooden training blade, and took position. Astralin may have left the safe zone before Yona did, but if that blonde could beat this bluenet, then Yona could, too. All she needed to do now was keep her focus on her opponent and his moves. She knew very well that her opponent was just waiting
  20. Before Yona left, she noticed a skeleton or two, with only old, torn desert cloths to cover the bones. She came up with the conclusion that these were living quarters of some kind, then the bones rattled, and two red cursors appeared over the skeletons....here we go again. The two Ancient Sentries got up, and looked over to Yona. "Leeeeeeaaaaaave......" One of them let out. Yona drew her blade. "No thanks. If I gotta fight to get some answers as to what the hell is going on here, than so be it." She declared. One of the Skeletal Ancient Sentries looked to the other, while the other
  21. Yona continued to delve deeper into the strange place. She had no idea what she would be dealing with, or what she'd see next. So far, there was nothing but crumbled stone and faded murals...but at the end of this chamber, there was a spiral staircase leading downward. She considered her options, then began stepping down to whatever awaited below. The area here was less crumbled and less faded, she could see markings and shapes...but still not much else. There was a hall connected to several rooms, about seven in all. Six rooms' doors were connected to the sides of the hall, while the sev
  22. Sometimes Yona was fine with chaos. There's be a tiny mess or two, it would be easy to deal with. Something might go wring, there was usually a way to fix it. But this was an insane madhouse now. After Astralin won the hand, the host left because some idiot had the audacity to leave the host's sink on, and said idiot was talking to girls while sopping wet. Ah, yes, the idiot in question was Hirru. Yona grabbed the cookie that Astralin offered, and aggressively chomped it down in one bite. She then began to search her inventory for a thing or two that might be able to help. How s
  23. With her challenge issued, Yona had gone off in case the challenged victim Player needed time to think and consider. For the time being, Yona needed to find a spot that wasn't reserved for tournament matches...but still within sight of the viewing area, she wanted to be seen as someone capable of winning, not a common run of the mill loser who couldn't do anything right. If she was seen as weak, she'd have to fight her way out of a predicament...and that would not end well at all. She needed to prove herself, as well as put the others in their place. Astralin seemed confused, but she woul
  24. Yona drew her blade as the monsters got up. They stared at Yona for a good ten seconds, almost as if the red cursors was just them considering things. Then one of the two opened its shriveled jaw. "Leeeeeeaaaaaave......" ... Yona sighed. "Not until I get answers, you desert zombies." She replied. The two shriveled husks looked at each other, and drew their weapons. Yona would proceed to make use of her sword art again, neither one survived the well-placed strike. She was able to see the monsters' given names before they shattered. "Ancient Sentry, huh? ...Hmm....something's up, why w
  25. The rest of the book's words were too faded to read. "Damn." There didn't seem to be much in terms of decor on the walls of these apparent ruins, aside from eroding stone carvings or patches of color that may have used to be murals. She then looked ahead of her, there didn't seem to be much, other than decaying wooden objects, or crumbling stone objects. Hey, there were even...wait, were those corpses? Yona slowly got closer to the apparent corpses in order to get a better idea of what they were. Something wasn't right, they weren't skeletons, they still had flesh, but it seemed to h
