  2. "What did I just say! Do not!" She cut off her words as Morningstar helped her to her feet, her eyes glancing briefly at the health bar before sighing. It had already started it's slow regeneration by the time she had risen to her feet, and she knew it would be back to normal soon enough. Not that it didn't hurt, slightly. Before she could scold the man further, however, he had already taken off in search of whatever event they were supposed to be following - a fact which reminded Nari she hadn't even read the pop-up before accepting the quest, far too concerned with Morningstar having leapt into the abyss at the time.

    "Hey! Don't just run off-argh!" Her voice cut off as she slammed into the side of the ship as it suddenly lilted to the side, a clear reminder that it wasn't exactly the safest place to be at the moment. Shrugging off the momentary pain - something far easier to do in the game than in the real world - she chased after the blonde as he dived into the depths of the ship, leaving Nari to follow or be left behind.

    "Hey, the whole thing is on fire! Don't just-oh." She didn't hesitate as she spotted the pirate like individual beyond Star's form, lifting her spear and moving to attack as soon as she'd spotted him. "Makes sense they'd be here too, I mean everything is chaos and on fire...why did we come to this floor again?!"

  3. Once the two had agreed to help, Ureka's demeanor had changed immensely. The once apprehensive, standoffish woman now seemed more comfortable and relaxed, more welcome to the idea of providing the two adventurers with some guidance and information - and direction. Nari shifted as the idea of changing the appearance of the route towards the village was explained, trying to decipher how they could help. It was only once Ureka had finished speaking, that she herself spoke up, her voice carry a tone of curiosity and surprise as she attempted to reword everything she'd just heard.

    "So the plan...essentially...is to redirect them? By hiding the pathway...or pathways?...to the village? Which means dousing out the torches that light the way...toppling the cairns along the path that make it stand out...planting rusted equipment? Not gonna lie that one seems...odd...and what's this about fools gold? Is that really going to distract them?" She found herself biting one of her nails, a nervous habit that was coming to the forefront - and one that she hadn't displayed in many years. "I mean I guess we can do that easy enough...let's see here..."

    She glanced around the area, noticing for the first time that the path was lined by various torches and cairns, as if coaxing them in a specific direction. I really missed this? Wow... Nodding towards the features along the side of the route, she moved towards the first of the nearest items, deciding that she would at least get started on the task given to them, no matter how weird it may have seemed when explained. "Here...think you can help out with a couple of these...? They look heavy..."

  4. She was quick to check herself over, noting that she had - somehow - escaped relatively unharmed. A small sliver of her health had been cut where she'd slammed into the side of a collection of benches. Or rather, what had once been benches, but had now been reduced to little more than a pile of scrap wood beneath her form. Pushing herself upright and to her feet, she gave a quick nod towards Morningstar, her voice slightly shaken as she spoke. "Yeah...I'm fine, although I'd prefer not to go through that again if there's the option to avoid it."

    She followed as the blonde turned and left the broken and burning skiff, knowing that they were lucky to have escaped it relatively unharmed, and that there was no point in remaining behind anymore. She tailed along behind Morningstar as they found themselves surrounded by concerned NPCs, each one suggesting some form of care or assistance that they could offer. She waved a few away, stepping closer to the blonde as she tried not to lose him in the slowly growing crowd.

    Thankfully, they were freed from the press as they boarded onto a nearby air taxi, leaving the growing onlookers behind just in time as they began sailing back through the sky. Sighing softly, she settled into one of the comforter covered seats, letting her head fall back against the rest and closing her eyes. "I never. Want. To Do. That. Again. Seriously, I may never return to this floor now...this is the last time I ever want to be on an air ski-"

    Her words came to a sudden stop as the ding of a notification caught her attention, and she looked in time to see the quest offer being accepted by Morningstar. She watched as he moved to the side of the craft, arguing momentarily with the driver before a shift in the vehicle's motion occurred. She knew long before it happened, what he was planning on doing. "Star...don't you...dare...you get back here now, mist-"

    He disappeared over the edge, followed by the annoyed, concerned scream of Nari as his physique simply vanished into the air. A single curse was all she managed before she'd leapt after the man, feeling a shift in her stomach as the free fall began, and she waited to see if she'd made a mistake...

  7. "Heh? Uh-no, nono! No, I chose it because, well, you know..." She found herself suddenly flustered as she tried to correct the idea that had clearly passed through Freyd's mind. While there may have been a small amount of truth behind it, she knew that she hadn't made her entire decision based on the swordswoman they were thinking of, nor did she want anyone thinking she'd been pressured into it either. "I did like being a blacksmith, but also...there was a need for performers, and yeah some people waste them more than others, but I did it...because I wanted to be a help. Although I'm not sure how much my voice actually helps others...but I mean, there was a market, and it was needed, and yeah...yeah, it was my decision though. No one else's!"

    She took a comically strong pose as she glared at Freyd, her look a mixture of comedic nature, as much as it was serious. It didn't last long, however, as she suddenly jumped in surprise at the blade that swung out towards her, a less than friendly reminder that they were still in the middle of a fight. Jumping slightly backwards, she raised her shield and levelled her spear as she prepared to face down the few remaining dangers ahead of them.

    "Alright...whomever gets the last hit doesn't have to pay, how's that sound?" She grinned at the other three in a sudden feisty nature, before bringing her spear up and around, aiming for the trio ahead of her with an intenseness that caused them to back up slightly. "We'll exclude the new kid though, it would be unfair to make him lose this almost instantly...Morningstar you're up next, so be ready!"

  11. It had always felt nice to return to the rhythm of work. The way in which a song came together, a collection of notes and sounds brought into existence. Something about it had always appealed to Nari - a way to tell her story, even if it was nothing more than the repetition of many other musicians before her. There was always a personal level to it, but she found herself thinking that there was more to it than that - a way in which each individual voice brought it's own touch to it. It's own version, and story, to the words brought to life.

  14. The room had been quiet for far too long, and Nari found herself wondering why she'd even returned. Time and again she'd found herself coming back here after hiatus, uncertain that she still belonged, and yet welcomed by the calmness of it all. If there was one constant in her world, one thing that had remained since her inception into Aincrad, it was the rooms that had provided her a location to produce her talents. 

    "One more time...just one more time..." She stroked the piano with loving hands, a soft smile touching her face as Mio settled onto the floor not far away, his beady eyes watching the knightess settle in behind the instrument in preparation for her new creations.

  19. Morningstar had held a look of determination, and perhaps a small amount of pleasure, as he'd hit knob and switch in order to get the skiff moving. There had been a collection of tension as the pirates had moved to follow after them, Nari setting herself along the edge of the vessel in preparation to meet any that came too close. She relaxed as the dying scream of a falling pirate echoed in the distance, leaving them - for the moment - safe from their pursuit. 

    Or, at least, Nari had thought as much. A sudden sputtering, a shift in their course, and the heat from nearby flames proved to be the counter of her assessment, and she was once again thrown into chaos as she held on for her life. Her eyes passed over Morningstar only briefly, seeing him lock himself into the vessel as it slowly lost altitude in a manner that could be called both heart stopping, and somehow boring at the same time. She gritted her teeth as they drifted closer and closer to the ground, bracing herself in the final instances before pushing off against the deck in an attempt to lessen the impact itself.

    Whether it had worked or not, Nari would never know. Pain and discomfort met her as she collided with the deck once more, rolling to a stop after what felt like both an instant and an eternity later. Pushing herself slowly to her feet - shocked at having survived - she looked around her, noticing the destruction that surrounded them, and the condition it left them in once more. "Morningstar? Star! You good?"

  20. It felt, to Nari at least, as though the agreement came out forcibly and fast. Her eyes hovered over NIGHT as Lilith danced away from another pointless strike from Nari's scythe, her attempts almost pathetic at this point in the fight. She was certain that there was going to be no immediate completion to this chaos, and she found herself becoming more and more frustrated as the moments passed further onwards.

    "Well, we may not have been able to always agree on everything, but at least we can agree on that." There was no poking or prodding in her voice as she spoke, a serious tone having taken over her as she considered their relationship up to this point. She wondered how others would label it, if they had been watching it from the outside. Not that she truly wanted to know - a variety of harsh terms coming to mind almost immediately, before she could press it all down and ignore it in earnest. "Living is preferable."

    Determined to remain living, she squared herself up to meet Lilith in another bout of blade and dancing, not quite ready to give up on the fight. "If I don't managed to hit her, I'm going to force her over towards you - whether she wants it or not!"

  21. "Me? I settled, at least for the time being, on performing. Singing, actually...although I wouldn't say I'm the best at it - there's definitely a few who are a lot better than I am. I'm also kinda...in the midst of trying to figure out...anyways, yeah, performing was the profession I ended up going with." Her attention had been elsewhere, and although she responded relatively quickly considering everything, her response had been filled with hesitations and doubt, and her tone was clearly one of someone who wasn't entirely with the conversation. Almost belatedly, she added to her original answer, as if registering what she'd heard earlier. "Oh, congratulations on the new place! I bet the view is amazing, and way better than sleeping in inns, or your own shop! Lot of money, but well worth it, right?"

    Shaking off the thoughts that had culled her attention, she turned to face the new group of threats that had been draw in, letting a violet flame run the length of her spear tip. She was determined to not let herself get caught off guard again and stepped up towards the enemies with a determination on her face.

    "Do you have any specific areas that you're looking at houses, Wulfrin? I've bounced around a few areas, but finally settled on one...although who knows how long I'll stay there. We're happy, for the moment though!" She smiled suddenly, as if whatever had been plaguing her mind had washed away. "I guess that's the one nice thing about the game...you can easily make enough to buy a new house, if you put the time and effort into grinding the funds."

  22. The others had mounted their newly received steeds with as much enthusiasm as Nari had felt, the very forms of their beings shifting as they claimed their new positions as the Horsemen of death. Although Nari had felt little change in herself - either a good sign, or a bad one, she wasn't quite sure yet - the others had seen some transformations in their very appearance. She nodded to Morningstar as the man settled in with obvious comfort, before turning to watch as Freyd not only fed his new friend, but also donned the appearance of death itself. Shaking her head at the obvious display, she couldn't help but giggle a little, knowing how on par it was for his behaviour. 

    Her eyes shifted as Katoka began to climb upon her horse, but she found herself looking back at Freyd as the final member of their party settled in. That was, until the sudden shriek caused Nari to shift her attention back to Katoka. She watched, in both amazement and curious horror, as the form of the player changed before her very eyes, becoming something entirely new - and very clearly something they didn't desire to become. As the new form came into view, Nari found her eyes widening - but not in disgust or fear. 

    "Well, shit, Kat...you look amazing. Like...if you were single, I'd ask you out, amazing." There was a slight awe to her voice, and Nari found herself blushing in response to her own words, as much as Katoka's new form.

    Trying to turn away from the awkwardness of what she'd just said and created, she turned instead towards their destination, urging the horse beneath her onwards in an attempt to leave behind her own words. What may have been a long ride felt extremely short as Nari pulled up on the reigns, eyeing the thing before her and noticing the name that clearly denounced a threat. "Blightbound, huh. Well, you'll not harm a single hair on K-on our heads!"
