  1. Morningstar had held a look of determination, and perhaps a small amount of pleasure, as he'd hit knob and switch in order to get the skiff moving. There had been a collection of tension as the pirates had moved to follow after them, Nari setting herself along the edge of the vessel in preparation to meet any that came too close. She relaxed as the dying scream of a falling pirate echoed in the distance, leaving them - for the moment - safe from their pursuit. 

    Or, at least, Nari had thought as much. A sudden sputtering, a shift in their course, and the heat from nearby flames proved to be the counter of her assessment, and she was once again thrown into chaos as she held on for her life. Her eyes passed over Morningstar only briefly, seeing him lock himself into the vessel as it slowly lost altitude in a manner that could be called both heart stopping, and somehow boring at the same time. She gritted her teeth as they drifted closer and closer to the ground, bracing herself in the final instances before pushing off against the deck in an attempt to lessen the impact itself.

    Whether it had worked or not, Nari would never know. Pain and discomfort met her as she collided with the deck once more, rolling to a stop after what felt like both an instant and an eternity later. Pushing herself slowly to her feet - shocked at having survived - she looked around her, noticing the destruction that surrounded them, and the condition it left them in once more. "Morningstar? Star! You good?"

  2. It felt, to Nari at least, as though the agreement came out forcibly and fast. Her eyes hovered over NIGHT as Lilith danced away from another pointless strike from Nari's scythe, her attempts almost pathetic at this point in the fight. She was certain that there was going to be no immediate completion to this chaos, and she found herself becoming more and more frustrated as the moments passed further onwards.

    "Well, we may not have been able to always agree on everything, but at least we can agree on that." There was no poking or prodding in her voice as she spoke, a serious tone having taken over her as she considered their relationship up to this point. She wondered how others would label it, if they had been watching it from the outside. Not that she truly wanted to know - a variety of harsh terms coming to mind almost immediately, before she could press it all down and ignore it in earnest. "Living is preferable."

    Determined to remain living, she squared herself up to meet Lilith in another bout of blade and dancing, not quite ready to give up on the fight. "If I don't managed to hit her, I'm going to force her over towards you - whether she wants it or not!"

  3. "Me? I settled, at least for the time being, on performing. Singing, actually...although I wouldn't say I'm the best at it - there's definitely a few who are a lot better than I am. I'm also kinda...in the midst of trying to figure out...anyways, yeah, performing was the profession I ended up going with." Her attention had been elsewhere, and although she responded relatively quickly considering everything, her response had been filled with hesitations and doubt, and her tone was clearly one of someone who wasn't entirely with the conversation. Almost belatedly, she added to her original answer, as if registering what she'd heard earlier. "Oh, congratulations on the new place! I bet the view is amazing, and way better than sleeping in inns, or your own shop! Lot of money, but well worth it, right?"

    Shaking off the thoughts that had culled her attention, she turned to face the new group of threats that had been draw in, letting a violet flame run the length of her spear tip. She was determined to not let herself get caught off guard again and stepped up towards the enemies with a determination on her face.

    "Do you have any specific areas that you're looking at houses, Wulfrin? I've bounced around a few areas, but finally settled on one...although who knows how long I'll stay there. We're happy, for the moment though!" She smiled suddenly, as if whatever had been plaguing her mind had washed away. "I guess that's the one nice thing about the game...you can easily make enough to buy a new house, if you put the time and effort into grinding the funds."

  4. The others had mounted their newly received steeds with as much enthusiasm as Nari had felt, the very forms of their beings shifting as they claimed their new positions as the Horsemen of death. Although Nari had felt little change in herself - either a good sign, or a bad one, she wasn't quite sure yet - the others had seen some transformations in their very appearance. She nodded to Morningstar as the man settled in with obvious comfort, before turning to watch as Freyd not only fed his new friend, but also donned the appearance of death itself. Shaking her head at the obvious display, she couldn't help but giggle a little, knowing how on par it was for his behaviour. 

    Her eyes shifted as Katoka began to climb upon her horse, but she found herself looking back at Freyd as the final member of their party settled in. That was, until the sudden shriek caused Nari to shift her attention back to Katoka. She watched, in both amazement and curious horror, as the form of the player changed before her very eyes, becoming something entirely new - and very clearly something they didn't desire to become. As the new form came into view, Nari found her eyes widening - but not in disgust or fear. 

    "Well, shit, Kat...you look amazing. Like...if you were single, I'd ask you out, amazing." There was a slight awe to her voice, and Nari found herself blushing in response to her own words, as much as Katoka's new form.

    Trying to turn away from the awkwardness of what she'd just said and created, she turned instead towards their destination, urging the horse beneath her onwards in an attempt to leave behind her own words. What may have been a long ride felt extremely short as Nari pulled up on the reigns, eyeing the thing before her and noticing the name that clearly denounced a threat. "Blightbound, huh. Well, you'll not harm a single hair on K-on our heads!"

  18. Just as quickly, they'd decided to continue onwards. She listed as the others bantered about their various topics - tempted to speak up and take a jab at Freyd for not having an immaculately organised and maintained workshop, but she found herself remaining quiet as they continued deeper into the tunnels of the Cave. She was still smiting over her bad decisions, even if they had come out alright in the end, making a mental note for future encounters and events. Live, learn, move on. Live, learn, move on. The mantra did little for her, but she didn't have much time to repeat it as a new wave found them.

    Freyd had rushed forwards to engage them, his power causing a trio of them to simple explode on the spot as he passed through their ranks. Nari gave a slight nod towards Morningstar and Wulfrin, before chasing after Freyd, her heavier armour slowing her movements only slightly as she danced around the last opponent, deciding to play with it a bit. Her spear jabbed outwards, forcing it further and further back, all while she tried to find an opening that she could use to her advantage.

    "If I don't manage to bring this thing down...one of you two better do it for me. And then find all the best stuff, because let's be honest...I'm not the best at that." The grin on her face made it obvious that she was poking fun at herself, even if it sounded more self-depreciating than it was.

  19. Morningstar rushed past her, suddenly, and within seconds the entire fight had ended. The pirate captain - if it could be called that - swirled it's cloak and disappeared, leaving the blonde and knightess to face the leering pirates that remained behind. Nari tightened her grip on her spear, readying for the next wave of combatants, when she felt a touch at her shoulder. She shifted her gaze just enough to see Morningstar gesture towards the waiting skiff, an obvious sign that it was time to head out.

    "You know I hate the idea..." Her eyes scanned over the massing pirates, noticing that they were readying themselves, likely preparing to step in towards them the longer they waited. Giving a soft sigh, she nodded, and pushed back on Morningstar, stepping in front of him and setting her shield before sliding backwards; physically forcing the other player to step back towards the skiff. Their movements were slow and careful, but as she felt the floor beneath her shift and sway, she knew that they'd made it onto the skiff and freedom - or at least, a measure of freedom. 

    A quick glance confirmed that the pirates hadn't followed them, yet, and that they were at least free to escape for the moment. She gave a wave towards the obvious operating controls, and smiled at Morningstar. "So, what do you say, Captain Star? Ready to take us out?"

  20. "Netball?" Nari paused in her movement, a single second passing before she suddenly broke down laughing. It was far from the response she had been expecting, and even in the heat of the moment, she couldn't control the laughter that erupted from her. "Netball...netball...I needed that, thanks."

    She shook off the laughter in an attempt to return herself to the fight they were still struggling through, deciding that the best thing was just to accept the answer. "I'm proving to be pretty useless in this fight, hey? I don't think I've even hit her once...makes me happy that you're here to help, otherwise this would just be a dance of slowly dying through bleeding out...which is definitely not how I want to go - in this world of the real one. Although, I guess dying fighting would be a nice way...still, living is preferable."

    She took another swing at the vampiress as it came within her reach. Her hands slid along the unfamiliar scythe's shaft. The weapon felt familiar enough in her hands, and yet somehow entirely out of place, all things considered. Just another reminder of how out of the fight she truly was.

    Boss Room Effect | All players immediately regain full HP and EN at the beginning of this battle. Active cooldowns are unaffected.
    Undead | The Holy enhancement is twice as effective against this mob. Vampiric (Offensive and Defensive) enhancements are only half as effective in combat with this mob.
    Vampire | Suffers triple damage from Burn, Flame Aura, and Flame Thorns.
    Blood Frenzy | All foes in combat against Lilith, the Undying suffer a constant Bleed effect corresponding to their tier.
    Bloodbath | On MD rolls of 9-10, Lilith's attack becomes an AoE that automatically strikes all players, dealing 125 unmitigable damage and preventings Battle Healing from activating for two turns. This replaces her normal attack and is considered a bleed effect that triggers the benefits of Restorative Strike.
    Crazed | Immune to disabling effects of Stun, Paralyze, and Freeze. Lilith the Undying's EVA will reduce by 2 for 2 turns for every Disabling effect that hits her, to a minimum of 0.
    Undying | Cannot be reduced below 1 HP, except by a blow dealt using the <<Sanctified Sword>>. 
    Restorative Strike | Whenever any player suffers Bleed damage from Lilith's attacks and abilities, Lilith regains an equal number of HP

  21. Drell continued to follow Nari's movements as the knightess began to sweep around the pirate leader, or at least she the man she assumed was the pirate leader. His eyes never left her, even as Morningstar attempted to cajole and urge him on to assault her with more earnest. As another attack shook her shield, she couldn't resist the urge to call out anymore, ducking beneath another wide swing even as she turned her frustration on Morningstar. "You don't need to egg him on, you know! It's annoying enough that he's-shit-relentless as it is!"

    There was no actual anger in her voice, a simple tinge of annoyance at having to duck and dance as much as she was doing - all because they'd had little luck on their end with the sudden burn of their energy stores. She knew it wasn't worth getting upset over, and yet she still found herself thoroughly annoyed with the situation. Gritting her teeth, she decided to do the one thing she could in the instance - suddenly lashing out with the shield in an attempt to catch Ulric in a sudden startling movement.
