  1. They'd gotten into a rhythm now, and as the last of the guards fell beneath Morningstar's blade, Nari began to feel a moment of hope for their success. Although more of the pirates continued to rush forwards and towards them, they were easily being batted aside by the pair - their attacks little more than a nuisance compared to the devastation that Morningstar was bringing to their rank and file. Even her small amounts of technical attacks were helping to quell the tide, even if only slightly.

Her gaze slid past the immediate trio of pirates, noticing that the once large wave beyond had begun to thin, and she could see the span of the docks around them once more. Tossing a nod towards the skiff they had originally been rushing towards, Nari commented calmly. "Do you think we still need to even try to...you know, take off? Or do we just finish the lot here that are trying...rather desperately...to overwhelm us? I mean, we've already basically culled their numbers enough that they should remember to fear us if we ever do this quest again...you know, to see if we can keep Ryland alive. Idiot..."

She mumbled the final word under her breath, not normally one to talk down towards those who had been lost. Somehow, though, she felt like the death of Ryland deserved commentary of some measure - the man had willingly thrown himself into the fray of combat, drawn all the attention towards himself...and yet had no weapon or means of attacking back against those who cut him down. Even to Nari's tank mindset it had been stupid to do. She stabbed outwards once more even as she shook her head at the memory of the NPC, realising that sometimes people - real and computer alike - in this world were truly idiotic.

"I'm game for just...you know, obliterating the entire dock if it comes to that?"

  2. Nari's attacks may have been in vain, however she couldn't help but notice that her efforts were at least giving Morningstar a bit of breathing room to deal with the aspect of overwhelming the pirates and guards that continued to swarm towards them. She kept her shield close, prepared for any attacks that might try and sneak through, all while waiting for an opening that would allow her to lash outwards again and take down a few more of the bandits they were facing.

"You know...this may be a bit of a late observation...but I'm starting to think that...staying here and facing off against every single...murderous soul that wants us dead...may not have been a great idea." She spoke brokenly in between attempts to dodge and parry the few attacks thrown towards her direction. Most were half-hearted, weak handed strikes that were easily deflected with shield and spear, or simply sidestepped in order to avoid any real danger. The ease and flow of the battle made it seem like the two had the upper hand - so long as she ignored the fact that more pirate looking folk were headed their direction. "Isn't there something in the art of war...about not being surrounded by your enemy? Or am I...thinking of some other media?"

Shrugging it off, she decided to take a slightly different approach to their defence, pushing forwards and forcing a path into the centre of the conflict. Bringing the spear into a single-handed fold in her elbow, she spun with the weapon, using her left hand as a brace while the elbow socket itself held the weight of the weapon - providing a dangerous windmill movement in a tight arc.

  3. "Yeah, I'm okay. A bit more damage than I would've liked, but these shits are as nasty as I can be - maybe not to the same degree, but nasty nonetheless. Adds up over time..." She gave a small huff of laughter at the commentary of the guards becoming pushovers with the captain gone. "You're right, they're going to become a lot easier now that we can stun them. Although I wouldn't say they're entirely pushovers...still have a bit of a bite to them. Best if we bring them down as quickly as possible. Although, I'm not going to be super great at that...I'm built for taking hits, not necessarily giving them."

She gave a half shrug before stepping towards the remaining guards. She could see the pirate looking figures heading their way, and realised that they were very quickly going to get overrun if they didn't do something soon to take down the numbers of enemies growing around them. "You don't mind if I let you kinda take the lead on dealing out the damage? I'll focus on bringing their attention to me, as best as I can, at least."

"Come on, you grangey flea bitten pirates and...ah, whatever! Come and get me!" She called out as she pulled her spear back into a resting positoon,  trying to focus all of the attention on herself in order to give Morningstar a bit of freedom to move about as he desired. A few of the pirates had turned towards her, and Nari lashed out at the frozen bodies of the nearest combatants, aiming for the vital spots that would allow her to deal as much damage as she could.

  4. An explosion of shards and shattering sounds was all that remained of Ryland's existence as he exploded into the air. Nari felt a single second of disheartening at the possible failure of the quest, before realising that the remaining Dock Guards were still pressing inwards. Raising her shield back to her shoulder, she considered their options as her eyes passed over the complement of various targets before her. The lowered health bar of the Guard Captain came into her view, and Nari gave a nod towards the woman.

"I'm gonna take her down, see if that doesn't bring some of the heat off us a bit...so to speak." She moved towards Calas as her spear began stabbing outwards in a rhythmic pattern, pushing the guards back and giving her space in order to engage solely with the captain herself. "I may not have known Ryland, or honestly really cared much about him, but I hope you didn't just ruin this whole quest for me...well, for us. Cause that would be annoying if I have to do this all over again and see your ugly face."

Calas gave little in the way of response, simply grinning at Nari as the knightess continued to stab and dance around the counter attacks. She carefully waited for her opening, keeping an eye on the other guards and knocking them back when they came too close to Nari's own position. Just when she was thinking the captain's guard was too good, she saw her opening. Immediately leaping forwards she thrust outwards with the spear, aiming for the lower thigh that had become exposed during a side step. She could see the other guards pressing in, and a sudden shift in her strike caused the spear to lash outwards in a wide arc, aiming for the group that had attempted to surround her in the last moments.

  5. "You truly do not mean harm...you are honest in your words." Nari gave a single glance towards Freyd, resisting the urge to roll her eyes in a highly visible manner. Sighing, she gave a soft nod in response, realising that her sarcasm would likely only do more harm than good in the current situation - and although the attacks from the creature had done little to her own health bar, she had noticed the significant dip in Freyd's own; a sign that he had taken more of a beating than Nari liked. One that she wasn't going to force the man to continue with, now that it had appeared as though the guard was willing to speak.

"We were earnest in our plea to end the war between Treant and Elf. I'm sure - or at least, I assume - there was a good cause for the beginning of this war...but it's time to put aside that hatred, that anger...it's time to look to the future of both races. Because if you don't...there won't be a future." She could see the creature staring at her, the faceless expression almost unnerving in a way. Fighting back against the desire to shiver, she continued onwards with her own words, deciding it was best to press the idea before it could think about becoming violent again at a misunderstanding. "The Treants and Elves alike cannot survive a generation lasting war, much less a multi-generational conflict. One, or both most likely, will die off before a resolution - and if one of you remains, you'll be in such a horrible position from all the fighting, the loss of good members of your groups, that rebuilding may be improbable, if not impossible."

She took a step to the side, careful not to approach. Even though it had stopped stabbing them for the moment, she had no doubt that it would begin it's assault anew if they came across aggressive or dangerous in any way whatsoever. "Would it not be better for both groups to find peace, to come together and thrive...rather than bloodshed that leaves both sides broken and brittle? You have a chance at a future that sees growth and prosperity...would you not want to jump, to dive for such a chance?"

  6. She'd strode into the tunnels without apprehension or concern, and as the first wave of creatures had appeared she found herself settling into a natural form, her spear resting on the edge of the shield in a comfortable way. She watched as Wulfrin had launched out towards their opponents, taking the lead and cutting into a trio of them with a wide swing. Smiling slightly wider, she gave a quick bark of enthusiasm as he stepped back away from the creatures, her own smile a mixture of excitement and encouragement towards the new player.

"Nice strikes! Clean, good work. See, you've got nothing to fear right now - we've got this!" Even as she said it, the sound of another voice caught her attention and she found herself turning slightly to see familiar faces approaching from the side. Almost instantly the pair had leapt into the fight, bringing down three of the creatures and leaving a single one for her to tend with. Calmly stepping towards the final creature, she gave a side-eyed glance towards the two new arrivals, her smile hesitant but welcoming. "Captain Star, Shadow Master...didn't expect to see you two here. Thanks for the help, by the way - but uh...what are you doing in here?"

  7. Chaos erupted around her as Nari turned to meet the dock guards that had come to meet them. She could feel as the defensive mechanics of the guards slammed into her, a reaction from her own strike against them - and she realised far too late that they were built as dangerously as she herself was. To the side she could see as Ryland called out, pulling the attention towards himself even as Nari tried to step in the way of the oncoming danger. She considered, if only for a split second, calling out to the man to shut him up, before realising that it would be useless. The system had decided his role, and now the two players would have to deal with it as much as they could.

"Ryland may be a lost cause. Focus on bringing down that damned Captain, and we may have a shot at this! Nari took her own advice, bringing her spear back into it's seated position and eyeing up the Captain that stood across from her. She'd managed, for the moment, to place herself between the Captain and Ryland, although she doubted that it would last for long. Her eyes flicked over the figure of the combatant in front of her, and Nari couldn't help but notice the lithe, skilled way in which they held themselves - a testament to Cardinal's creation in a sense. "Alright...keep your eyes on me. No one else is important right now, except me...except that idiot is going to call attention to himself again, great..."

Nari could hear him continuing his charade of demeaning the guards - most of whom seemed to not care too much about the Dockmaster's berating - and Nari wondered for the first time if it wouldn't be better just to let the man die. Shaking the thought away, she instead struck out with the spear, aiming for the Captain in the hopes of at least putting them on edge.

  8. The thing that had moved turned out to be humanoid indeed, and as the Mourning Guard approached, it's voice beckoned towards them. The cry was far from welcoming however, and Nari found herself glancing towards Freyd for suggestion and support as the creature declared them foe, not friend. Her hands had moved automatically, summoning spear and shield to position as she considered the conflict that was very clearly approaching - a fight that she wasn't even sure they should be having.

Apprehension took over and Nari found herself waiting to see what Freyd would do, naturally letting the more aware and capable player take control of the situation. Something that she found herself thankful for, as Freyd led them towards a more peaceful resolution with the guardian - or, at least that was what she had assumed would occur. Instead, she watched as the confrontation escalated, eventually leading to Freyd being stabbed by the creature. Nari's muscles twitched in response, and she found herself taking a step towards the other player before realising he hadn't moved in response.

A quick check confirmed that he wasn't held in place through any status effect, and although it took her a second, she realised that he had willingly let the blade strike him. Uncertain, but trusting in his judgement, Nari lowered her own shield and weapon, turning to the guardian. "We'll do whatever is required in order to prove our trust, and the willingness to overcome this conflict peacefully."

  9. She gave a soft nod as the other player agreed to look for the dungeon. A quick glance through her inventory confirmed that she had only a single map that she could use in this instance, and as she read the details on it she found herself smiling even broader. Her eyes lifted from the menu as she flipped it around for the other player to read, her expression one of excitement as she spoke. "Well, I've got one single map left...I'd honestly forgotten about this one, but I think it's exactly what we need in this instance - plus, look at all the bonuses it gives! Great for starting out, in your situation."

She retrieved the item from her inventory and glanced over it, comparing it to the mini-map in her display as she considered their direction and the distance to the markers. Turning slightly, she began walking, calling back over her shoulder as she strode towards what would make up the entrance to the dungeon itself. "According to the map, it should be this way...and not too far off either. Probably looking for some hole in the wall rock formation, or maybe a gate that leads to a separate area within the map itself...honestly these things are always so random and wild, it will never cease to amaze me..."

She led the pair of them along the path outlined by the map, turning slightly in a consistent southernly direction - at least as far as she could tell. It wasn't long until they came to an archway that was built into the side of a hill, standing beneath a tall tree that stood above all the others in the vicinity. Nodding towards it with a smile, she moved to the archway itself, a bright tunnel leading deeper into the hill visible as they came closer. "Told you so...ready for this?

  10. No sooner had they noticed the on-going thievery, than they had suddenly been directed to escape from the situation at hand. Nari's eyes had shifted to the skiff in question, wondering why they would run - sure they were outnumbered, but they had the upper hand when it came to conflict in the area. She'd been considering ignoring the directive from the dockmaster, preparing herself instead to greet the coming charge of the pirate folk who were clearly readying themselves.

The decision had been taken from her, however, as Morningstar suddenly burst towards the skiff, the decision made in his mind to head for safety clear. Nari had paused only for a singular moment behind the blonde, cursing slightly as she made her way after the faster player towards the waiting means of escape. She hated the idea of running - especially when the situation had only just begun - but she couldn't argue with the logic behind the decision. More of the pirate folk had begun to appear, and she found herself lashing out with spear and shield in an attempt to drive them back as she continued behind the other two towards a sense of freedom.

As suddenly as he'd chosen to rush away, Morningstar had spun and engaged, the blade in hand and scabbard tossed aside. Nari skidded to a halt, turning with a fluid motion and stabbing spear into the first humanoid thing that had been behind her. "I was honestly worried you were going to suggest running away the entire time. I'm glad you decided to stand and fight! We've got this, just make sure to stay behind me!"

  11. The soft glow ahead had felt like a blinding spotlight after the everlasting darkness that she had willingly followed Freyd into, her hesitation overcome by the sudden trust she'd felt in the other player. Something about their connection had driven home quickly, and any thoughts of concern had been driven away even as she'd offered to head in blindly - trusting that he'd make sure they made it through safely. The hand on his back had been soft, her touch both firm enough to ensure she knew where he was and which way to head, but also resistant as if she was uncertain about the contact.

Regardless of her hesitation and restraint, she'd followed his directions without question; knowing that he wouldn't lead her astray and that once the darkness had consumed them she had no choice - she'd placed her life in his hands, and had no options other than to accept that he would keep her alive and well. She was, however, excited to be able to see again when they'd arrived at the soft glow. Her hand had come away from Freyd's shoulder only once she was certain that her sight would be capable enough to guide herself, and as she entered the large cavernous area she found herself slowing to a stop in wonder, taking in the area just as Freyd did.

Her eyes alighted on the central aspect of the cavern, a large tree-like substance that seemed to house a soft glow - an obvious sign of approach leading towards it as if calling the players forwards and onwards. "Now, I'm no tracking or searching expert - and definitely not a betting person - but...that does look kinda...you know, stand-out-ish in nature?"

Even as she pointed in the direct, a needless effort as far as she was concerned, a flicker of movement caught her eye. She glanced over and noticed a humanoid shape moving to the centre of the hole, as if standing guard against any who might try and trespass the area. It only made Nari wonder how many more obvious signs and pointers the game could provide towards the location; an obvious sign of their destination if she'd ever seen one.

  12. In a show of shards and colours, the beast had disappeared following Nari's final strike. She'd allowed herself to relax only once she'd been sure it was gone - and that nothing else was going to appear in it's place. Giving her shoulders a soft shift, she loosened the muscles that had begun to tense with the conflict. Letting the spear fall back into the groove of her elbow, her standard resting position with the weapon when it wasn't being immediately used or stored, she shifted her attention back to Wulfrin.

"I wouldn't exactly call it a simple fight, so much as I came prepared. As to the others...well, I think Kumatetsu may actually have been the easiest in reality. It's a straight forward blunt and bruise fighter - focused on assaulting us as easily as we assault it. The others...from what I've heard about them, are far more focused on alternative combative efforts - either relying on minions and summons, or skills that cripple our normal fighting ability."[/color] She waved a hand towards the tablet, smiling as she considered the fact that they'd completed this portion of the quest so quickly. "There's still time left in the day...if you wanted we could hunt down the next opponent...or hit up a dungeon. I'm sure there's one around here somewhere."

She quickly double checked her inventory, confirming that she at least had a map to help locate one of the nearest dungeons - something she'd learnt to stock up on whenever she had the chance. Wandering a floor in search of quest items was one thing, but dungeons were far harder to come by if one didn't know what they were doing - and the maps available from broker and merchant alike were well worth their col.

  13. Wulfrin had moved in for the kill, only to find his feet giving out beneath him. Nari's gaze shifted slightly in order to make sure the man was alright, before returning to the giant bear that had begun to move only a few breaths after Wulfrin's failed assault. Calmly, with an eased practice, she slipped in between the two, placing her own bulk between target and attacker, ensuring the safety of her party member - if only for the moment. Without looking at the man, she called out in answer to his spoken words - knowing he'd been talking to himself, and yet unable to remain quiet on the subject.

"I wouldn't beat yourself up too hard. Sometimes things happen...try and take a slower approach, keep your feet closer to the ground - a soft slide will be less likely to take you down than a hard step. Focus your centre of balance, shift your weight as you need to in order to counterbalance." She knew it was all basic advice, but sometimes the basics were forgotten or ignored in the heat of conflict, and a small reminder never hurt more than a bit of pride. "Keep yourself upright and even if you miss, you can fall back into a defensive position and not open yourself up nearly as much."

She took a step forwards, letting her feet glide across the ground as she pushed forward with her left arm, forcing the spear outwards towards the bear. Her right remained locked in place, keeping the shield mere centimetres from her core, held in place for any retaliatory attacks that might be thrown her way.

  14. Nari had the feeling that her words may have caused a decision for the blonde, and almost at once she felt like she may not have been in the right to suggest he follow through with his idea. Still, she knew that there would be no point trying to take it back now - what had been said, had been said, and whatever decision made would likely be near impossible to unmake. Instead, she gave a half shrug to herself and followed along behind Morningstar as he moved towards the NPC she had pointed out.

As soon as they'd initiated contact, the NPC had drawn into a typical dialogue - verbiage and terms thrown about that were likely directly related to the quest, and explanations of lore and events that would help them to understand why they were assisting this random man who had been standing in the centre of the docks looking lost and confused. Nari had paid attention to most of it; knowing partly that it would be helpful in the future and partly worth some col should she sell it to the right information broker.

The dialogue came to an end when the Dockmaster declared their involvement, before turning to lead them onwards and away. Nari gave a single glance towards Morningstar before following after the man, her gait quickly catching the taller figures regardless of her shorter stature. As they passed through the docks, she pointed towards a collection of dockworkers in the distance who appeared to be rummaging through some of the cargo and crates that were being unloaded and loading onto the ships.

"I'm not dock...person...but are they supposed to be pocketing some of the stuff that doesn't go into the containers?"

  15. The bear creature had reacted to her taunt, it's eyes drawn to her form even as Wulfrin rushed forwards to engage it, the blade in the man's hands slashing across the beast's form in a simplistic dance of combat; one which spoke of a more aggressive, than defensive mannerism. Nari's eyes glanced over to the man only to ensure his safety as he rolled through and beyond, content to see that he had placed some distance between himself and the bear through his attack - not that it mattered.

The slash of the claw was barely noticed as Nari's armour deflected the majority of the assault against her, and she cocked her head in response, smiling slightly as she pulled back the spear into a ready stance. Without looking away from the bear, she yelled out to Wulfrin, her voice carrying a level of calm and enthusiasm that should've been out of place in the current situation. "See? The bear's all bark and little bite. You keep doing what you're doing there, and we'll have this over in no time! Nothing to worry about at all!"

She stepped in towards the oversized beast of a bear, bringing her spear outwards in a flurry of stabs meant to drive it back, as well as whittle it down. She focused her assault on it's weaker points, looking to hit joint and bend, where the fur was slimmer in areas and easier to penetrate. At her side, Mio danced around the bear, drawing it's attention as much as the knightess did in her plate armour.

  16. He'd started down a typical path of responding with a tinge of sarcasm, a response that Nari expected and one that she knew she herself would've done in the same situation. She was, however, caught by surprise when he stopped and shifted into a serious tone. She listened, her eyes showing the shock where her facial expression remained stoic, as he explained the truth behind their similarities. An obvious factor now that they'd shared as much as they had, and yet somehow nice to hear spoken aloud in earnest and without restriction.

"It's nice to hear you say it, aloud. Thanks, for the honesty." She considered saying more, before realising she'd just be repeating what Freyd had already said to her earlier - a fact that felt hollow when she considered it. Instead, she chose her next words carefully before speaking them. "I'll keep howling as long as you do, then."

Her attention was drawn to the piece that Freyd had found, her eyes settling on the metallic piece as she listened to him point out the fact that it was an oddity among the two cultures. Her brow furrowed slightly as she considered it, the words coming naturally as she thought aloud. "Either a gift from...someone else, or there was a third party in this location. Outside interference...wouldn't really be that surprising, when you think about it."

The doors opened as Freyd found the controls, and Nari glanced into the darkness with a small bit of apprehension. "Now, the smart thing would be to have a glowstone, right? That's what a smart person would do, but you see, I - being the highly intelligent individual that I am, and well prepared for anything - may have left mine at home."

She placed her right hand on the side of the tunnel wall, feeling it on her palm as she considered her options. "Feel like playing a game of leading the blind?"

  17. Their journey had led them along small pathways that seemed to end far sooner than they should've. In fact, as Nari rounded what felt like only the second corner - figuratively speaking - of their trail, she found herself coming to a quick halt. Ahead of her Wulfrin, who she had let take the lead on their search, had pointed out what appeared to be a lair of some sort. One which, clearly enough for even Nari to hear without paying much attention, seemed to echo with the sounds of something within.

"Certainly sounds like a bear...and if it made those tracks you pointed out, well, it'll be a big one." She stepped up to the forefront of the lair, turning back to Wulfrin with a grin as she hoisted shield and spear into a more aggressive grip. Calmly, as if trying to instil some form of courage or comfort in the other player, she tried to reassure the fear that had seemed to hover over him moments ago. "Everything will be fine so long as you remain behind me...you've still got that teleport crystal? Make sure it's at the ready, and you'll be fine. I'll distract it and call attention to myself. You focus on cutting it down from the side. Try not to draw too much attention towards yourself...so long as it's entirely focused on me, we're good."

She gave a single nod, before turning into the lair. The depth of it wasn't far from it's entrance, and in only a few dozen steps, she found herself face to face with a creature that was ringed by a halo of light from above; an opening in the ceiling of the tall cave illuminating the area in a way that likely shouldn't work naturally. The thing was a large bear, twice the size of any Grizzly that Nari had ever seen, and just as dangerous. Hoisting the shield in front of herself, she gave the heavy metal a few taps with her spear, shouting out even as she did so in order to draw the attention to herself. "Over here you gigantic mutt of a wilder dog! Focus on the point that will bring about your end, and fear the breath of ice and wind that will rupture your entire form!"

  18. Nari took the proffered snack, summoning a knife and cutting thin slices off the core in order to have an easier, more elegant time chewing the fruit itself. She followed alongside Morningstar as he began moving throughout the port, his eyes glancing about and explaining about the height limitations and interest in the floor itself. Nari's own gaze followed his to the tower, her head cocking slightly to the left as he posed the question about breaking in, and the morality behind such and action.

"I would say it shows your human side, if nothing else. You said fur cape?" Her eyes passed over the golden cloak that an important individual had been wearing - or one that she assumed was important, based upon his dress and general demeanor - and carrying on searching for their target. "I would say it's natural for us to try and discover what we don't know. I mean, how else would we have progressed - historically speaking - if we'd stopped at our amazement at fire? We'd not be locked inside a death game, that's for sure...but we might still be living without computers, cars...basic technology that we take for granted now. That said, the law around here may not like you breaking in...and I hear it can be pretty fierce at times."

She pointed towards a fur caped man in the distance, standing at the edge of the docks with an almost agitated appearance on his face. Motioning towards the man with her right hand, she raised an eyebrow towards Morningstar and shifted on her feet to head towards the man. "Why do they always look...I don't know, helpless? It's like a damsel in distress every time...but not always a damsel. Not even cute half the time, really. Would it kill Cardinal to give us someone who looks...well put together?"

    Thunder Fang | Fusion ID: 219823 | DMG 1 | Bleed 1 | Paralyze 1
This longsword was crafted using a unique style of Damascus Steel. The pattern resembles arcs of lightning bolts moving up the flat of the blade towards the point. Just as it tears through it's targets, its properties sometimes also leaves the target paralyzed. Just above where the blade meets the ornate hilt is a phoenix with its wings outstretched in flight. The firebird also acts as the origin for the bolts that spiderweb outward towards the blade's edge.

  20. Jumping down from the small barrier that she'd been sitting on, Nari gave a soft nod in welcome to the newer player, listening as he listed off his accomplishments. She gave a another soft wave of her hand as his apology and explanation came to an end, as if brushing away the words as needless. Instead she focused on his question, bringing up a small menu and flipping it around to show the player the image that had been shared with her. A large, grizzly like creature was the fore of the image, and Nari smiled a bit as she explained what she'd been able to gather for information.

"Seems this is Kumatetsu, some sort of...forest guardian? I guess. The quest is basically...hunt them down, and bring it down. It definitely looks like it'll be difficult though. No area attacks, but it's self-buffing, and has a nasty paralyzing roar. Which...is only a major concern if you somehow draw all it's attention. Err, don't worry, that shouldn't happen. My entire role is to draw attention and let it beat me to a semi-pulp, all while...anyways. Point is we should be fine, but we do need to find it first, which means travelling the woodlands in search of a bear." She gave a sudden shrug and smile, closing the menu and looking to the woodlands that surrounded the town itself. Sarcastically, she completed her thought aloud. "Should be easy enough. I mean how much woodland can there possibly be?"

A sudden thought crossed her mind, and she pulled up her menu and pulled a number of items from it, consuming each in a frenzy of preparation. "Ready? Let's head out and begin that whole search..."

  21. They'd agreed to meet at the skydocks themselves, and although Nari hadn't wanted to show up too early, she'd still started her day far before she normally would've done. She found herself, however, waiting impatiently as Mio slept at her feet, the kitsune realising that they'd have some time to rest and relax seeing as the blonde haired man hadn't shown himself yet. Not for the first time, Nari found herself glancing at the clock and wondering where the man was, their meeting time slowly approaching closer and closer. She'd begun to fidget long ago, and found herself twisting on the spot every so often, the nervous energy making it's way out through her limbs.

"There he is." She'd risen from the bench she'd settled into while waiting for his arrival, waving as the blonde came into view and allowing a small smile to break through the frown that had begun to grow. When he was close enough, she tossed a half-hearted jab his way, cocking her head in the direction he'd come from even as she teased him. "What took you so long? Did you get lost, or sleep in? Or did you make the mistake of going to the wrong docks entirely? Are there even any other docks?"

She glanced around in sudden thought, the idea never having crossed her mind prior to mentioning it aloud. Perhaps she'd been the one who had gone to the wrong spot, and he'd been waiting on her until he'd traversed out to find her? She shrugged internally, deciding that it would be better not to give the opportunity to lay blame upon herself this time. Instead, she waved a hand towards the docks themselves, and the waiting ships which would begin their quest in earnest.

"So, where do we go to get started on all this? I gave the quest a quick once over, but...well, I figured you'd be the lead on this one." She gave him a soft wink, her smile broadening as she stepped to the side and gave him room to lead on. "By your leave, Captain Star!"
